Fantasian feels at home on console, Sakaguchi and Uematsu are completely at home with Square-Enix, and players will feel like they’re going on a journey home to their nostalgic 90s era as they delve into the game. Fantasian is an inspired mobile effort that is now better than ever in the form of Neo Dimension.

FANTASIAN Neo Dimension is a captivating JRPG with a unique diorama art style, engaging story, and rewarding exploration. The challenging combat and innovative features like the Dimengeon enhance the experience, though occasional control issues and loading screens hold it back. A must-play for fans of Final Fantasy VI.

Fantasian Neo Dimension is one of the best JRPGs I have played in a very long time, and that is saying a lot, considering we've had some great releases recently. It has a nostalgic feel to it that is reminiscent of the older Final Fantasy games, almost like stepping into a time machine. The trajectory system in combat is brilliant, it has an interesting story, and the difficulty is just right where it demands strategy while remaining fair throughout. The beautiful world made strictly from handmade dioramas is nothing short of extraordinary and is one of the most creative initiatives I've seen in gaming. Fantasian Neo Dimension does everything right for a turn-based JRPG, and anyone seeking their next great experience in the genre should look no further than this remarkable creation.

FANTASIAN Neo Dimension is a beautiful adventure from some of the best RPG creators of all time, and they are at their best here. An emotional story combined with fun combat mechanics and an incredible atmosphere makes this one of the best RPGs of the year and well worth checking out.

Much like Bravely Default, Fantasian: Neo Dimension is functionally a Final Fantasy title that doesn't bear the Final Fantasy name. It has a very similar tone and atmosphere to the older SNES titles in the franchise, but it has enough modern elements to stand on its own merits. The story can sometimes be simplistic in a very charming way. The game's only flaws are a difficulty level that might be a touch too high for some and the lingering remnants of its mobile release heritage. If you're a fan of older Final Fantasy games, you owe it to yourself to try Fantasian.

Fantasian Neo Dimension from developer Mistwalker and publisher Square Enix is a fresh concept in how turn-based RPGs should be. It features deeply strategic fighting mechanics, a bevy of enemies to go up against, and a fun story to hold it together. The controls need some improving, and the dialogue could probably be toned down just a bit, but the game has more positives than negatives at the end of the day.

Fantasian: Neo Dimension takes all the great things about classic JRPGs and finds ways to innovate on them while still keeping the innate charm and feel the genre is known for. And while there have been plenty of great RPG releases in recent years, there’s something special about Fantasian: Neo Dimension that melds the old with the new to create an enthralling and nostalgic journey in a unique high-fantasy world that’s simply a ton of fun to play.

Fantasian Neo Dimension is not only a charming adventure, but a lovingly-crafted tribute to the genre from some of its biggest pioneers.

Fantasian Neo Dimension is an excellent re-release of Hironobu Sakaguchi's great work, one that gets everything right. From the story to the gameplay, including the soundtrack and visuals, everything fits together into a high-quality package that will please JRPG fans.

FANTASIAN Neo Dimension is a jam-packed RPG that blends retro and modern elements wonderfully in both its presentation and gameplay. So, if you have fond memories of games like The Legend of Dragoon then you need to play this.

Fantasian Neo Dimension succeeds wonderfully in making familiar turn-based battles appear fresh with an exciting twist. But the (somewhat predictable) mystery story and likeable main characters are also convincing. Although a few weaknesses prevent the game from reaching its full potential, this RPG adventure is not just for genre fans.

Whether or not you choose to invest time in Fantasian: Neo Dimension comes down to your priorities. Are you willing to sit or speed through a bland story to get to the meaty gameplay? Or is a more gripping narrative necessary to get you through a game that clocks in at a few dozen hours? It’s hard for me to say what I personally find more important, but I ultimately came out of Fantasian glad that I’d played it. And if I had to guess, I think that its flaws are forgivable enough to be worth it for most others.

Fantasian: Neo Dimension is a nostalgic journey in which the legends behind the classic Final Fantasy titles take us back directly to the golden age of the JRPG genre. This port offers a more complete experience with new voice acting, Final Fantasy music, and a few minor improvements, but essentially remains the same Apple Arcade game without significant changes.

With an engaging story, interesting characters and entertaining turn-based gameplay, Fantasian: Neo Dimension certainly manages to be worthwhile. Moreover, it also looks impressive although the camera wants to be a bit annoying at times. In addition, not every side mission is equally interesting, but you can easily get over that when you consider what the overall package has to offer. Lover of JRPGs? Then you're in the right place with this title.

Fantasian Neo Dimension is a great JRPG that gracefully blends old-school sensibilities with some fresh new ideas and features. There are some issues here and there, such as awkward controls, but overall this is a gripping adventure and a must-play for those who fondly remember the Final Fantasy games of the 90s.

Fantasian: Neo Dimension is a modern take on the RPG formula. In many ways, it's similar to classic Final Fantasy games, but elements such as the trajectory aspect of battles and the Dimengeon help distinguish it from other titles the developers have previously worked on. The Dimengeon is an especially welcome addition to slow down the interruption that random encounters provide. The battles are enjoyable as they do require strategic planning, though playing on Hard difficulty can result in especially rough difficulty spikes later on. The rewarding battle system is complemented by the fantastic soundtrack and engaging story, reminiscent of some of the best classic RPGs. A couple characters can be grating and sometimes the controls feel like they could use some refinement, but Fantasian: Neo Dimension is a welcome challenge for anyone who is a fan of classic JRPGs.

Fantasian: Neo Dimension is fun and will be loved by those who enjoy this type of RPG. However, the game has some flaws, such as its linear story and annoying random battles. Despite this, it is worth trying for what it represents to fans of the genre.

Fantasian Neo Dimension enchants with its masterful soundtrack composed by Nobuo Uematsu and its ability to capture the essence of Final Fantasy in an anime style full of charm and a lore with enormous potential. However, the title stumbles over uncharismatic characters and a generic approach that prevents the narrative from reaching its full brilliance, ultimately presenting nothing new.

Fantasian Neo Dimension may suffer from a hefty grind, a control oddity, and a rather tropey story, but it also shines in ways that made the now-retro RPGs so special. Combine the dioramic backdrops with engaging combat and just enough modernization without going too far away from its retro inspirations, and Fantasian practically demands that all RPG fans give it a chance.

Those expecting an experience akin to the classic Final Fantasy games may find FANTASIAN Neo Dimension disappointing, whether due to its noticeable mobile roots or its uneven difficulty. That said, it’s not without its charms. The story embraces the familiar tropes of Sakaguchi’s past works, the visuals have an eccentric beauty, and the adventure is excellently accompanied by a soundtrack from none other than Nobuo Uematsu.

Overall, I would say Fantasian is good. But there’s a certain something lacking and while I’m reminded of the nostalgic past, it makes me miss how revolutionary Fantasian’s inspirations were. From the character writing of Final Fantasy VI, the 3D revolution of Final Fantasy VII, one of the first RPGs with near full voice acting in Final Fantasy X, or creating a connected world two years before World of Warcraft with Final Fantasy XI on PlayStation 2. Fantasian isn’t changing anyone’s feelings on RPGs. It’s pretty, silly, and cozy with some genuine heart. But it’s like a beautiful cake. It doesn’t feel like a full meal but it’s tasty and I love looking at it. Fantasian is new-ish, but it’s not Neo.

Fantasian Neo Dimension evokes memories of classic Final Fantasy. It's got an impeccable soundtrack, beautiful locales, and a world that inspires wonder. But it's let down a little by likeable but fiercely archetypal characters and a by-the-numbers story, and it's let down a lot by wild and uneven difficulty spikes that make combat a source of constant frustration in the second half of the adventure.
