Destiny 2 has tried to be many things over its four and a half years, and while it seemed there has always been a step back for every two steps forward the game would make, The Witch Queen is one giant leap ahead. With this expansion, Destiny 2 is quite simply at the best game state it has ever been, and offers so much to do and reason to do it that every player that ever loved this game should give it a shot to rekindle exactly what it was that sparked that passion in the first place.

Destiny 2 The Witch Queen lifts Destiny 2 to new heights with a spectacular story, a large amount of content and many improvements to gameplay. Destiny 2 is finally what it was always supposed to be and shows that Bungie is still at the top of its game when it comes to creating beautiful environments and visual storytelling. Whether you're thinking about returning to the franchise or picking up the game for the first time ever, The Witch Queen is a brilliant starting point for your new adventures.

After a strong couple of years, Destiny 2 has hit a new high in The Witch Queen. It’s undeniably the best expansion for the MMO shooter yet, with narrative payoffs both surprising and earned, a fantastic campaign, and fun new gear to chase and build. Destiny 2 Year 5 is off to an excellent start, and the future has never been brighter for the franchise.

Destiny 2: The Witch Queen feels like something built for the veterans, for the long-standing fans. It’s both a culmination of years of story and prelude to something much bigger.

The Witch Queen is an especially robust expansion, with a particular focus on customizing the play experience and rewarding longtime players’ investment in story and systems. If it’s not the most welcoming moment for players to jump in, that may be a price the developers at Bungie are willing to pay at this point. The long-running story arc that opened in 2014 is gradually steering toward a climax, and it’s possible the developers are increasingly interested in building a ride for those who have been in the vehicle for a while now.
  6. I’m admittedly still a bit lost when it comes to how all of the upgrade systems, subclasses, and secondary objectives and tasks work. And I’m sad that — as usual — I’ll miss out on the new raid mission for lack of being able to schedule a big team of friends to get together for multi-hour play sessions. But perhaps this is just the cost of doing business as a casual Destiny player.

Destiny 2: The Witch Queen is easily the best expansion since The Taken King. Savathûn and her story are engaging and thrilling to play, each mission putting the always stunning art and design on display. With glaive in hand, new mighty Void powers, and weapon crafting at your arsenal, Guardians will have a terrific time annihilating hordes of Hive in the campaign and raids. Unfortunately, it’s not a newbie-friendly expansion. The complicated narrative and deep history which is partly unplayable due to removed content, as well as awful UI, make it challenging for even previous players to jump back into the journey. If you’ve been playing Destiny 2 and still are, you need to play The Witch Queen.

I can say this is easily the best expansion to the game and the best campaign Bungie has ever crafted, with massive reveals, huge implications, and a satisfying conclusion for now. Weapon crafting and the throne world are superb, the overhaul to the light subclasses will be game-changing in every way. We are now in Destiny 3 for all intents and purposes. if you have not played d2 since launch or haven't played in a long time now is the time to come back as destiny is in exquisite form. Expand

It's the best campaign expansion Bungie ever launched, all levels feels great, especially in legendary.
    The challenge makes even better.

I quit destiny after Beyond Light because of how painfully average it was.

My friend ended up peer pressuring me into buying Witch Queen and I must say. The story in the Witch Queen rivals that of Halo Reach from 2010. I haven't seen story telling like this from Bungie in ANY OTHER destiny expansion. It blows the Taken King and Forsaken stories out of the water.

The missions and side content is also FINALLY not a total drag. Everything you do has meaning and is engaging in some way.

Absolutely brilliant expansion. I've played Destiny 2 since launch, stubbornly refused to buy some of the previous expansions, of the ones I did I loved Forsaken, but hated the 'emptiness' of Beyond Light This is definitely one of the odd occasions where it's worth paying for an expansion.

Can't give it a perfect 10 though because I'm not really into some of the MTX stuff games love to push these days, but that's really the only flaw with it.

Good expansion, little pricey, too quick into the next grind.

So, expectations were very high, as Bungie helped build up the hype heavily.

Weekly teasers, hundreds of snippits - we were ready.

Release day came and after an hour queuing up, we finally started the new campaign (we= me & my brother. The campaign was really good, new difficulty was welcomed and it was a great story expansion.
However, 40 bucks seem preety hefty for the expansion. Story is even on legendary done in 5-6 hours (duo) and from there on, the grind starts once again.
Given that most of this is free, I really don't see the content to charge that amount of money, other than funding the f2p community.

the raid looked pretty good on stream too, even though connection was a heavy problem.

all in all, the expansion is essential if you are playing destiny on a regular basis, but the content vaulted seems to be more than the new content. therefore i'm despised.
expansion is good, deal overall meh
