    I would've never bought Demon's Souls for myself. But since it game in the PS5 bundle I bought, I thought I'd give it a try.

    And WOW, am I glad I did. The first level in Boletaria was truly punishing.. and worse yet, there was NO PROGRESSION SYSTEM. Whenever I face a challenge in a game, I like to return to safer areas and grind for mats to upgrade my character and make the next fight    I would've never bought Demon's Souls for myself. But since it game in the PS5 bundle I bought, I thought I'd give it a try.

    And WOW, am I glad I did. The first level in Boletaria was truly punishing.. and worse yet, there was NO PROGRESSION SYSTEM. Whenever I face a challenge in a game, I like to return to safer areas and grind for mats to upgrade my character and make the next fight easier. So I was completely taken aback that I couldn't upgrade my character during that opening act. Instead of running away to farm, I had to face my fears head on and LEARN the game. Although I still referred to YouTube guides (cheers FightinCowboy), the best moments were the ones where I didn't know what monsters are lurking around the corner.

    After that first level, the rest of the game was just as challenging, even though there were avenues to farm souls and upgrade stats and weapons.

    After appreciating the rewarding thrill of conquering tough bosses, I started playing other games at higher difficulty. Not only was this a gorgeous game with methodical gameplay, but also a rewarding experience that transformed the way I play.    … Expand

    I played the original and was a bug fan of the series. I bought a ps5 just for this game and I'm so dissapointed in From Software. I expected a polished game! We're not talking early access you released and sold the game! Sometimes my character just floats over stuff and sometimes I just drop through the floor. I wish I could post the video here.     No se me ocurre mejor forma de iniciar una generación. Gráficos alucinantes en un remake que renueva de forma excelsa el juego de PS3, trayendo lo mismo que inició este género con unos gráficos a la altura del momento.

This game is ground hog day with a different name. Totally insane. The developer designer who came up with this must have serious OCD!!!! And loves to do the same senseless boring loop over and over and over again. I gave one star only because character creation was cool. I made a male smurf that walked talked like a girl. Honestly this game would of been 5 stars. Put autosave where you die you don’t need to go kill 40 NPC’s to reclaim your souls to get killed again. It’s just boring totally wasted my time. I tossed game in trash. Never will I buy any new game without reading reviews. My PS5 I love. Astros playroom was 100 times more fun than demon souls. My favourite game of theirs is Bloodborne and I'm eagerlya awaiting Eldenring. This game is outdated in its game mechanics (world tendency and no estus flask or blood vial system), the bosses are awful (not to mention easy) and the gameAs someone who played the original I'm actually disappointed in this game for many reasons.     Simply put, this game is amazing. Gameplay and character handling are fantastic. The graphics and lighting of the levels are spectacular, and the 3D audio for the game is extremely well done. If you haven't played a souls game, this is a good starting point; I'd say it's one of the easiest souls games, though it's certainly still challenging.     Bad collision query, flying boses that disappeared mid boss fight, bosses that only use range attacks even if you are close, so that the boss is way to easy for a boss that shows up during endgame and so on. It's just a remake, so why are there still bugs that were known in the first place? If you really want to olay Demon's Souls, buy the old one

    Me ha gustado aunque parecido algo repetitivo. Exceptuando boletaria y un poco el tunel colmillo piedra, los demás sitios no me han gustado mucho. El juego tiene una buena calidad gráfica y duración, pero el sistema de combate y el desarrollo se me ha hecho algo tedioso.

    i just finished the demon souls so...

    graphic : completely amazing remake , graphic was the best 1010 for me gameplay: old mechanic .. sometimes annoying ... lack of tutorial ... i never used so many things i got because i didn't know how to use them ... unbalance difficulty on each level so hard or so easy .... for getting soul you need to replay a specific level more than a    i just finished the demon souls so...

    The original was better.

    Pros:
    - Showcases the power of the PS5
    - Rolling feels better
    - Soundtrack is still awesome

    Cons:
    - Looks worse (style) than the PS3 version
    - Didn't fix the boss exploits (stealth + poison still kills almost any boss)
    - Didn't add much other than "better" graphics

    The game wasn't that bad. It had great visuals and world design. A really well made remaster. Except it being way too easy. It's a good game if it's your first soul game but if it's not and if you are a veteran, u might not enjoy it as much. After a certain boss the game will feel like a cakewalk honestly. The majority of the bosses are waaay to easy. i would say 2 was challenging. But theThe game wasn't that bad. It had great visuals and world design. A really well made remaster.     Aunque se note el paso del tiempo en las mecánicas del combate, se maneja al personaje muy bien y es reconfortante el acabar con los enemigos. Puedes elegir el mundo por el que quieres empezar a voluntad y el añadido de poder enviar al almacén el inventario sobrestante desde cualquier lugar es un añadido de 10 que ojalá tuvieran otros souls. La pega para mí, las grandes caminatas paraAunque se note el paso del tiempo en las mecánicas del combate, se maneja al personaje muy bien y es reconfortante el acabar con los enemigos.     This was my first experience with Demon Souls and boy was I lucky. The graphics are insane, the loading speeds are mind boggling, and the animations are all so smooth. Really love every environment and overall atmosphere. Bosses really felt and looked like they could come out of your screen with how good their textures looked.

    I don't usually praise games this much, but this is an exception. The original has been enhanced in every way, and it has endured the test of time. Bluepoint has done an amazing job of not just revitalizing a neglected treasure, but also utilizing the new technology available with Sony's new system. Best remake ever made. Definitely recommend.

    Auch wenn es ein sehr schwieriges Spiel ist: jeder tot hat mich dazu motiviert besser zu sein. Ich hatte keine Probleme mit dem Spiel, bis auf dass das Combat System extrem langweilig ist (teilweise). Sonst alles tiptop, konstante 60fps Leistung mit 4K

I just want to put it out there before I go deep into the review, I want to state that I didn't play the original game so I can't compare the two. Now that I got that out of the way, Demon's Souls is a game with a ton of great ideas that although a few hits, many of its ideas are misses. The graphics and world of the world and enemies is jaw droppingly gorgeous. Many enemies and locales look like they were ripped out of real life. The combat, although a little too defensive for me, is still pretty fun in most cases and the world surrounding Demon's Souls is very intriguing. I really like the Nexus, a hub world that should be the standard for every hub world. Some of the things I don't like are the unexplained world tendency system, the health bar being lowered while in soul form, and most importantly the bosses. Although with a few of them I saw massive potential like the Old Hero and Old Hero or I liked their fights like with the Tower Knight and Flamelurker, most boss fights were either frustrating, boring, or straight up bad. The Dragon God is virtually impossible unless you know how to get past him and even then actually killing him is not even slightly thrilling. Leachmonger and the Dirty Colluses are essentially the same boss fight but with a different design. Although I overall think the game is enjoyable and is beautiful to look at, the game is kinda niche and not for everyone.… Expand

    Beautiful remake graphic wise but that’s about it. The mechanics still felt outdated which makes it fall short from its competition. If you loved the game in its PS3 days or like souls like games and haven’t tried this one, this will make a fine edition to your library but otherwise be warned, you will die a lot and have to hunt for the story.    … Expand

Sometimes you have to run around a giant arena, trying to not be found by some big ass boss, who can only be killed by reaching point A and point B. While running to those he one shots you if he sees you and you do the same **** again...and the indicator when he sees you is really bad. The other time a Boss flies over your head and you have to wait until he is in range for you. Even then you can randomly miss him. Yea...fun...15 minutes hit or miss fight...as said, those two are not the only ones designed like this. Most of the bosses are easy and/or gimmicky. Those who aren't are very fun though.

    If you are a souls-fan anyway and/or want to see the roots of the game franchise you should pick this up. Otherwise I would rather buy Elden Ring, Dark Souls 3, Sekiro. Especially because you get more game for your money. Demon's Souls is quite short, compared to those three games previously mentioned.    … Expand

    Never played the PS3 version but the game is great. Only problems are: too short and some underwhelming boss fights. This is a remake of a game from 2009 so it’s flaws are mostly understandable. Highly recommend for souls fans. Oh and the visuals are top tier of the generation.

    This was great, I loved diving into the world and the atmosphere and ambient horror was nailed. Beautiful texture and modeling work, couldn't have been happier. The shader on the moon sword is *chefs kiss*. The gameplay is a souls game, and it's true to form of the OG

Со звуком и его восприятием - всё отлично.Сюжет /лор, всё в традициях фромов. Оптимизация отличная, ни разу не встречал проседов частоты кадров. Цена/качество, я прошёл игру за 34 часа, этоМоя оценка 90 баллов. Визуал отличный, когда включил офигел от такой красивой картинки. Музыкальное сопровождение до мурашек. Дизайн локаций довольно хороший а самое главное все обелиски разные. Со звуком и его восприятием - всё отлично.Сюжет /лор, всё в традициях фромов.     Its the perfect souls game they really wend the extra mile with this one, i remember playing the OG game on ps3 and was blown away. It happened again. If you a fan of the series you will love this game.

    i was going to give a 4 but I feel like that would have not balanced out the fan boys of this game and I have beat and played this game on the PS3 and I would like to say it is still a hot mess filled with clunky mechanics just like the old one and I honestly thik they didn't even touch on the combat at all and just upgraded the graphics and thats it so if you want a glorified Demon Soulsi was going to give a 4 but I feel like that would have not balanced out the fan boys of this game and I have beat and played this game on the PS3 and I would like to say it is still a hot mess filled with clunky mechanics just like the old one and I honestly thik they didn't even touch on the combat at all and just upgraded the graphics and thats it so if you want a glorified Demon Souls that looks good this is for you but it is worth 20$ at most other wise just go get PS3 Demon souls… Expand

    What can you say? It's Demon's Souls remade. Awesome game from start to finish and excellent boss fights. However the mechanics feel a bit dated in comparison to today's standards, which prevents it from being a 10 imo.

    This game is perfect! It gives a great challenge with a good story. I highly recommend this game to people who love the souls-like genre, considering that it is one of, if not the first souls-type games to the souls genre.

    It's so good. I just wish they would have made a few more quality of life updates like the rolling mechanic and the whole world. Black and white tendency shift is annoying. Pretty much stopped me from getting the platinum. Too much to keep up with to figure out what you need for every item

    Excellent remake, but I wish they had changed the whole world tendency system and the sudden difficulty jump to ng+ where a minor enemy kills you in 2 hits. Still excellent game technically.

    Felt like most bosses were quite easier than I expected. Overall, a really good game, great graphics and gameplay. That Nexus soundtrack really is something else as well

There have been remakes that have massively overhauled the gameplay but kept the plot and atmosphere of the original intact (Resident Evil 2), there have been remakes that are remakes in name only and are technically a completely new game (Final Fantasy 7), and so on. Of all of these, Demon Souls remake is probably the most faithful. It is a completelyThis seems to be the age of remakes.     A masterpiece! This game was my second souls game after playing Bloodborne , it became as my favorite games at same time .
    Why I like Demon’s Souls ? The graphic is fantastic, storyline in souls games are not clear enough but there many stories in heart of this game. Level variety is successful, different designs for different tastes ! My favorite level and land is first land Boletaria !    A masterpiece! The gameplay first of all is the same as the original, no improvements, the backstabs and counterattacks after a parry are changed with some over the top animations which feels awkward. The "graphical improvements" of the game are ironically what ruined the game. The artistic direction of the original was used as tool for the narrative of the story by showing the desolation and the fog that was shrouding Boletaria, while in the remake everything Is gaudy and the fog that was the main aspect of the narrative of Boletaria was replaced by a clear sky in order to show the graphics and the potential of the ps5. As for the rest of the other areas, Latria followed the same mistake by giving it a gothic look which reminded me of another game instead of and improvement of the original. Another bad aspect is the music for the bosses as "the music of the remake Is inspired by Bloodborne" which Is why the OST falls flat since there is no rhythm during the boss fights because they maintened the same mechanics of the original and putting a Grandiose and an Epic orchestra for a giant manta ray fish that slowly approaches you is more laughable than epic. lets not talk about the Nexus ost that was destroyed by a ridicolous church chant instead of putting and improving the simple and a mysterious tones of the original, no comment for the false king ost...
    In conclusion this remake was made without the direction of the original developers but this was aspected since From software is hated by the Ps5 higher-ups but nevertheless a shame that this was used as tech demo for the ps5 because It had a lot of potential but It was sadly wasted.    … Expand

    First trying it I was getting my ass kicked so hard. I had just started it after playing Sekiro for many hours and the gameplay was SO slow to me at first. Once I got used to it I started to like the game more. The levels are alright. I can't really say much other than this game is ok. It's definitely my least favorite of the 4 FromSoft games I've played so far. Some bosses aren't bad. TheFirst trying it I was getting my ass kicked so hard.     Gorgeous remake, really a treat for anyone who played the original back in the day. One of if not the best game remakes I've played. The combat still feels a little bit dated at times, which is not surprising, but nothing that takes away from the experience.

I was slightly dreading playing demons souls, but wanting to try as many games as possible, and seeing the good-looking trailers and reviews, I decided to anyway. And what a game.

    The    Intro: I'm 13 hours in, thanks to playstation plus extra's game catalogue. I own Dark Souls III but never finished it, due to difficulty, perhaps due to my young age and gaming inexperience at the time. I was slightly dreading playing demons souls, but wanting to try as many games as possible, and seeing the good-looking trailers and reviews, I decided to anyway. And what a game.

    The good stuff: Everything feels well planned and structured. Everything seems to have a purpose. I kept thinking about the decisions that the developers made as i played. it is such a cohesive experience. from the story to the enemies to the locations, everything makes sense. it's all so logical and i cannot stop thinking about the game even when i'm off. The maiden in black keeps all the candles in the nexus lit and grants levelling up as well. Even the English and Scottish accents seemed fitting and logical to have as the main VA accents in this world. Indeed the game is not easy, but it makes winning so much more satisfying than in most games. The nexus is audibly and physically beautiful. The various maps that you can teleport too are also graphically impressive. The same goes for any living creature. The variety of weapons is awesome. The stats are addictive and fun to upgrade. The sound design is great- like your shield being hit or the the rattling of enemy armour, or even the sound of miners hitting rock or metal with their pickaxes. The filter and photo mode options are great to have.

    things that could have been improved: lip-sync seemed exaggerated and therefore unrealistic despite seeming correct. The lock on range was not great, but then, weirdly, for the dragon (which surprised me), it worked from very far away, so clearly the devs have allowed an exception once you go to the stairs near it, which was a good thing to do, and I wish they had found a way to improve the lock on feature at all times not just in that scenario. The game would often lock-on late, which handicaps the gameplay of spell caster for example. Also, i am craving for more lore/story... Finally, I personally didn't understand the need of having human and soul forms in the game. A better explanation of what they are might have justified its presence in-game to me.

    In conclusion: I have no major complaints about the game. One of the best true next gen. titles alongside horizon FW, spider man MM, Ghostwire Tokyo, and God of war Ragnarok, at least graphically. The gamepplay is addictive, focused, cohesive, and liberating/allows for creativity at the same time. The fantasy/dark ages theme is well implemented. The first map is a massive, gorgeous castle guarded by two dragons, a huge knight boss, and countless other knights and zombies, and then you return to the nexus which is like a church safe haven, which is peaceful yet haunting, reminding you of the dystopian world that awaits outside.     Didn’t play the original so i kind of enjoyed it. Givin this a 7 since the tendency system is such a pain in the ass and the game is quite shorter than i expected, only took 30 hours to finish while other soul games took me more than 60hours for one play through and i alrdy dont feel like going for ng+, the lore isn’t that deep enough to make me want to explore more

    It’s a perfect remake and I think the only people who might be disappointed with it are… the die-hard FromSoftware fans. You see, the new Demon’s Souls shows clearly how much Miyazaki’s games have evolved throughout the years. The Dark Souls series simply does everything better. The remake looks like a prototype in comparison, while still being way ahead of other developers’ achievements in this genre. [01/2021, p.46]

    I went in expecting the world out of the Demon’s Souls remake and it delivered me the galaxy. I don’t normally speak this highly of games, but this is the one exception. Absolutely every facet of the original has been enhanced and it has stood the test of time. Bluepoint has done an incredible job at not only reinvigorating an underappreciated gem, but also leveraging the new technologies afforded to them with Sony’s new system. While there are a couple of minor technical blemishes, they don’t take away from how good of an experience this game is and Bluepoint’s diligence as a developer will surely see these kinks ironed out. This game is a system seller.
