Jul 31, 2025Demon Slayer The Hinokami Chronicles 2 builds on the foundations of the first instalment and takes each slider up a notch. Even if there's room for improvement in one area or another, we've finally got a big Demon Slayer fighting game in our hands.

Sep 10, 2025In Dragonball-esque fashion, CyberConnect2 and Arc System Works performed a fusion and managed to turn the tides! The majestic production values of Ufotable have been impressively mirrored, as this game delivers a multitude of breathtaking animations and of course – loads of flamboyancy! A solid battle system and plenty of content make this game a significant upgrade to the first. This one is for the fans.

Jul 31, 2025Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 brought me back to the glory days of anime fighters and made me excited for what the future has in store for the genre. With so much content and visceral combat that's exciting to simply watch, it's one superb fighter.
-
Aug 1, 2025Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2 carves its mark among the elite of anime games, honing nearly every edge of its predecessor. With tighter, more fluid combat and a cinematic presentation that nearly rivals Ufotable’s legendary adaptation, this sequel feels like a true evolution from the very first swing. It's not flawless, but the sheer volume of content and pure fun it delivers more than makes up for its shortcomings. If the original was Hinoe rank, this one unquestionably earns its place among the Hashira.
-
Sep 9, 2025Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba The Hinokami Chronicles 2 does not aim to revolutionize its formula, but it compensates with technical enhancements, an expanded story mode, and an outstanding audiovisual presentation. The game targets fans and delivers performance that exceeds expectations.
-
Aug 25, 2025Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is a tour de force in how to bring anime into the gaming space. A compelling faithful retelling of a story fans love, superb combat and stunning visual and audio design make this game a really special experience. Whilst the lack of additions may upset some returning players, along with the weak gear system, there’s still so much fun to be had in this game. You can really feel the love and care the developers have poured into this sequel! See you in the arena!
-
Aug 13, 2025Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2 delivers a faithful, accessible, and polished adaptation that expands the first game’s formula with improved exploration, side quests, and refined combat.
-
Aug 7, 2025It's one of the few ways to combine your love for Demon Slayer with video games, a title from Cyberconnect2 that basically took its Naruto games and gave them a Kimetsu no Yaiba skin. Either way, it's an interactive anime with a fun combat system.
-
Aug 1, 2025Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is largely more of the same, but that isn't much of a issue when the first game was already so enjoyable. Story mode here picks up where the last left off and covers three new dramatic arcs, and the gameplay has been refreshed a little with new elements such as Gear. It's the whopping number of characters now available in Versus mode that's the real draw, though.
-
Jul 31, 2025In our opinion, The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is a very pleasant improvement on the first Kimetsu no Yaiba-based fighting game, although it still has some minor issues with performance and design. However, it's a good game for fans of the series, even if it's the one that should have been released in 2021.
-
Jul 31, 2025The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is undoubtedly the new standard for Demon Slayer games, and it does the material justice. CyberConnect2’s prestige animation is the star and its decades of designing interactive narrative experiences and action combat also show through, even if the studio is playing things safe. Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is a smooth ride through familiar territory, and it doesn't need to be anything else.
-
Jul 31, 2025Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles 2, despite certain limitations, comes to accompany once again the fans of one of the most quality and popular anime of the last decade, which also takes advantage of the synergy with its last arc to call to try it to a larger base of players. If you're a fan of Demon Slayer, you shouldn't miss it.
-
Jul 31, 2025By having a healthier roster, slightly tweaked combat, and two of the best arcs in the whole series, The Hinokami Chronicles 2 still stands as a worthy sequel, and one that I hope is surpassed even more by the inevitable third game that has a hell of a lot of heavy lifting to do by finishing off the whole series.
-
Jul 31, 2025Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is a beautiful example of adaptation and a clear evolution compared to the first game in the series. The sequel greatly expands the cast, refines the exploration, narrative, and combat systems, and offers the best visuals the subgenre can currently achieve.
-
Aug 1, 2025CyberConnect2 expands on the original with a larger roster, faithfully adapted arcs, and cinematic battles that elevate the anime’s intensity, although it still lacks gameplay depth, some exploration feels forced, and there's no cross-play, which may hurt online engagement.
-
Jul 31, 2025If you're a loyal fan of pop culture's most popular sword fights, you should definitely play it to prepare for what's next in the franchise. However, if you tried watching the series and never really got into it, it's best to spend your money on something more entertaining.
-
Jul 31, 2025As a sequel, it successfully delivers fast-paced, visually striking, and highly entertaining combat. While it feels somewhat like a continuation of the first game, it brings several gameplay improvements and a story mode that covers three major arcs. It remains a title clearly aimed at fans, but it's still enjoyable for any fighting game enthusiast.
-
Aug 6, 2025Though not without its faults, Hinokami Chronicles 2 is a visually stunning and faithful follow-up that builds on the original with more characters, polished storytelling, and just enough style to keep Demon Slayer fans hooked.
-
Aug 1, 2025While Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles 2 doesn’t change much about the original, it fixes the massive problem of the small roster. Fans of the anime have a retelling of a large chunk of the anime’s narrative to look forward to. The game’s story mode adds light adventure and RPG elements to give the illusion that there’s more to the game than just combat and cutscenes. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is very much a sequel, so anyone curious about the story should play the original game first. If you’re just in it for the combat, then the sequel is a no-brainer best choice.
-
Jul 31, 2025Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 simply continued what the first one brought: a way to actively experience the anime's elaborate battles. While the experience is rich for Tanjiro and demon slayer fans, the cast could have brought more character variety and less "echo characters".
-
Jul 31, 2025Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles 2 stands out as a clearly superior sequel compared to the first game. The credit goes to the greater amount of source material available, which allowed CyberConnect2 to craft a much richer and more engaging Story Mode, bringing to the screen some truly impressive sequences from both a technical and artistic standpoint. Moreover, the game benefits from a series of improvements related to its structure and content, which appear significantly more substantial and compelling.
-
Jul 31, 2025Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is both an improvement of the original and a direct sequel, but it's also a product made mostly for fans of the series.
-
Aug 27, 2025Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2 improves on its predecessor with a bigger roster, extra modes, and fun combat, but its linear story, bland maps, and repetitive formula keep it from reaching wider appeal. A solid pick for anime fans, but an easy skip for everyone else.
-
Aug 13, 2025Yeah, yeah, another review that could have been summed up as "it's the first episode, but better." Buying a CyberConnect2 disc is like going back to Grandma's at the first sign of frost: you know she's going to whip out the old-fashioned tartiflette, and it's not particularly clever when you think about it, but good god, it fills your stomach and brings back good memories. The Hinokami Chronicles 2 has the good taste to deliver slightly more interesting boss fights and a more extensive cast, which is enough to reach the sacrosanct bar of seven out of ten; but the online mode with shaky servers, the finger-licking balance, and the basic single-player content still prevent the franchise from passing the "it's really cool if you've seen the anime" threshold. Come on, there's no harm in treating yourself.
-
Aug 7, 2025Demon Slayer – The Hinokami Chronicles 2 gives you a strong fighting game that draws you into the story just like the original manga/anime. Prioritising teamwork and combos makes you utilise every moveset for maximum effectiveness. It’s not an easy game to master, and the story can be finished in a few hours. Fans will love what this game has to offer, but you may not enjoy the game if you’ve never heard of the Demon Slayer series.
-
Aug 4, 2025Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is a well-crafted game and a major step up from the prior entry, but it isn't the kind of groundbreaking or unique experience that will get casual fans or non-fans invested in the series.
-
Aug 1, 2025Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is a true and worthy successor to the first major video game adaptation of the anime and manga series. The battles are presented in a spectacular and highly impactful way, though the remaining segments—especially exploring and interacting with NPCs—come across as a bit too static for our taste. Nevertheless, fans of the franchise can dive in without hesitation, particularly if they enjoy the arena fighter genre and want to once again experience the adventures of Tanjiro Kamado and his sister Nezuko.
-
Jul 31, 2025Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2 does more than its contemporaries, but sadly, it needs more to stay prominent in this gaming space. This is a follow-up, so you’d expect the game to grow with the fans, but as it stands, the ceiling is much too low. Regardless, I had a great time playing through these arcs and hanging out with these characters. The way this cast overcomes some of the most one-sided fights is incredible to witness with a controller in hand, and I can’t overstate how badass I feel being able to say I took down an Upper Rank demon.
-
Jul 31, 2025Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is a competent game, especially for fans of the series. There are some cool additions, like dual ultimates which will let you create some dream teams and perform beuatiful cinematic finishing moves. The story mode is also pretty solid, allowing you to navigate through the latest story arcs from the anime, but also including interesting features that turn this into a slightly more ambitious project than your run-of-the-mill anime videogame. Definitely give it a try.
-
Jul 31, 2025Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is a bigger, better version of its predecessor, even if it’s not exactly out here discovering new forms of demon slaying.
-
Jul 31, 2025By building on the original and adapting some of the best arcs from the manga, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is pretty much a must for fans. As far as arena brawler goes, this is one of the better ones, although we still think combat can be a bit flat and woolly at times. But, with a wealth of single player content and so many characters to choose from, this is a worthy sequel to an already solid game.
-
Aug 4, 2025The second chapter of The Hinokami Chronicles saga meets all the minimum requirements to be a good product capable of transporting players, especially fans of the saga, through a decent adaptation of the story and fun, colorful battles; however, it fails to meet the expectations of the public: many—including myself—would have preferred a product similar to Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. Instead, the developers decided not to take any risks and to stick to tried and tested formulas: a sufficient product that doesn't innovate but is entertaining; all the typical elements of CyberConnect2 games are there, capable of teasing lovers of the genre, but without ever taking risks or aspiring to anything new. The combat system remains its strong point, simple, dynamic, and fun, slightly improved compared to the previous chapter, but we are still left with the dynamics that pervade the game in its entirety: nothing new.
