    Gotta do my part to offset this review bombing:// I've been waiting for this game since the first trailer. And it absolutely lives up to the hype. The art direction is great I'm surprised so many people **** on the art style cause it's not "super realistic" or "too colorful" it matches the games vibe so so well. My only complaint is the AI which is admittedly not the greatest but if theyGotta do my part to offset this review bombing:// I've been waiting for this game since the first trailer. The writing is absolutely top tier; Colt and Juliana's back and forths never fail to make me laugh and each visionary is unique and cool in their own way. I love the weapons, areas, and time cycle.     I was looking forward for this game, but I was very disappointed. I didn't hate it, but didn't love it either, but I think this is one of those games that the majority of people will love or hate. After 6 hours of gameplay I realized that I've thrown my money away, it became so boring so fast. Not recommended at full price, wait for a sale.

    Another game from Arkane that doesn't measure up to the original Dishonoured. You can't kill the visionaries the way you want to. You have to get them together in very limited ways at certain times. This means playing the same levels over and over again until you discover what the visionaries weaknesses are.     The time mechanic doesn't factor in at all because although you are stuck in a time loop it is split into morning, noon, afternoon and night. The only thing is you can spend as much time as you want in these respective time zones and the areas you choose to spend a time zone in but there is no real time timer like in majoras mask so the whole premise doesn't really work.

    Since triple A games face have become so free form that you can usually do whatever you want when you want this game doesn't allow for that and feels outdated for it.

    The abilities have been recycled from dishonoured aswell and renamed. Arkane manages to disappoint more and more with each new game since the original Dishonoured which I don't think they will ever surpass.

    Just couldn't get into this game. If you like Returnal on PS5 or Dishonored, you probably will like this. I didn't like either. You either like it or hate it.

You're Colt, and you're stuck in a timeloop of living the same day every single day on an island with a rival Assasin that other players can control or AI, and so-called Eternalists (standard mobs) who presumably are there by choice to live forever, and 8 visionaries which act as the game's bosses that youDeathloop is a unique gaming experience and mostly appreciated by the open-minded. You're Colt, and you're stuck in a timeloop of living the same day every single day on an island with a rival Assasin that other players can control or AI, and so-called Eternalists (standard mobs) who presumably are there by choice to live forever, and 8 visionaries which act as the game's bosses that you need to study and manipulate so you can kill them all off in a single in-game day to end the loop. There is surprisingly no timers during the actual gameplay so you can take your time to explore each map as long as you need, but you will mostly come to one of the 4 areas during specific times of the day to chase leads to ultimately unlock your knowledge to create a plan to off all the 8 visionaries in a single day.
    The environments are jampacked with great visual detail and storytelling through audio tapes that you can find, and notes including computers that the Visionaries chat with each other on that give you information that you can use to your advantage. There are fun guns that feel satisfying to use, as well as powers that are similar to what you had in the Dishonored games such as a teleport and telekenisis like powers or buffs. From killing Visionaries and the rival assasin Julianna you can loot Residuum, a resource which allows you to infuse powers, guns to be able to keep them forever even through timeloops... This allows you to progress your power and allow you to build different loadouts of guns and perks. The combat itself is pretty easy to cheese, and ammo is plentiful, i rarely felt the need to stealth and it's also easy to run away with your blink super power that allows you to get over rooftops with ease, especially after upgrading it. But all in all the game does what it does well, and I am excited for the future of such games involving timeloops.    … Expand

    Deathloop is basically dishonored+hitman+groundhog day. The goal of the game is to find a way to assassinate 8 people that are keeping a time loop intact, while also having to worry about a rival assassin trying to prevent you from doing so. The game is executed very well, really the only issues I have with it are that the game is pretty buggy, and there's performance problems.

    It's a enough good game, while we know that right now there is no new cool games among all remasters and remakes. It feels Arkane's love for details and multiple ways to go through. But there is many bugs and sometimes I don't want to believe that Arkane make such buggy project. Also ending is not satisfied.
    Still the game is cool. And it's cooler the most of latest new title.

    Best game I’ve played all year. I didn’t have any issues with bugs or anything like that. Found the gameplay loop really fun even though I don’t like rogue like games. This may be because I felt like with each in game day I had objectives to complete across multiple areas and I always accomplished at least one.     DEATHLOOP is incredible, With a great story that leaves you on the edge of "Control" a unique gameplay, a beautiful Art design and above all ... A game that feels 100% Nex-Gen. This is going to age wonderfully

    It's a really good game. There is a big number of immersive situations. You need to play, play and play to understand how to run the day correctly. I wanted to play stealth action one more time, I guess it's my problem. It is so bad, that there will not be any Dishonored in the future at least one more time.

    Amazing game. From the gunplay to the powers to the lived-in world of blackreef, everything feels and looks top notch. The characters are all fantastically voice acted and their development is paced phenomenally. Most importantly, the game is just so much fun to play.

    After Dishonored was good, but the sequels were not i was worried about this. And yeah its not great. Main characters are not likable, we can't the player character at all. Very few areas and its only one day repeated. Its a trial and error to pass this, you don't feel get any sense of progression from playing like other Bethesda games.

    Fantastic game. My only complaint is it can be quite confusing sometimes with clues and stuff all over the screen. People that complain about the graphics have obviously never played dishonored. It's just the way Arkane games look...

    While this game has some cool qualities, it suffers from bland graphics that in no way deserve the rare masterpiece score that mainstream sites in this country are giving it. And even worse, the AI is not very good. I honestly can't figure out why a game that did not release on PS4 doesn't have better graphics and AI.

    If you want ray tracing and 60fps, I would suggest you try the PC version, except that the user score over there is even worse, because of crashing, stuttering, and stability issues, along with weird input lag. As expected the PS5 version does not freeze or crash very often. I have loved Bethesda games, especially Fallout 3, 4 and Skyrim. But this one is not on that level. The PVP is a lag fest. Recommend you wait and have people join you rather than join them. Lots of rage quitters when you put them down twice.

    People will say disgruntled Playstation fans review bombed the game as this game is produced by a Microsoft owned company, but if that was the only reason for bad reviews, why is the PC user score worse?    … Expand

Haven’t seen anything like it before. The game play isn’t revolutionary and is very much like dishonored. The guns are cool and the powers feel great to use however there’s not many of them thus you are left feeling like you’ve hit your load out sweet spot early on.
    The core gameplay and gunplay does feel good although it feels a little sluggish if you are used to something like cod.
    The art style is cool although not a showcase for ps5. Everything is crisp and sharp by design but isn’t a show stopper. The AI is pretty poor. NPCs don’t see you when they should and rush you unrealistically when they do.
    That being said the game is very good due to all the aspects of the game connecting well and just feeling right. Story is cool and very clever however you have to put in a bit of work to understand everything going on, it’s not spoon fed to you.
    I’m having a blast with it and I think 8 is a fair score. Definitely not a 10. Pick it up and give it a try. If you connect with it quickly you’ll find it rewarding and probably finish it if you don’t then you’ll probably give up pretty soon after starting.    … Expand

    Alright let's start with the story. While neither Dishonored nor Prey were masterpieces in this regard Deathloop is just terrible. Extremely thin characters, boring paint by numbers plot and a shallow world. This is not helped by how zany and quirky everything is, the game tries painfully hard to be a comedy while being maybe the least funny thing I've ever played.

    Visuals:
    The game looks ok I guess. It's not great but not terrible, overall I'd say it's pretty close to Dishonored 2 with slightly better textures but with a significantly less consistent and refined art style.

    Alright now my main issue, the gameplay. The gunplay is ok however becomes extremely repetitive very quickly and it feels rather clunky, the same is true for moving around the environment which is weird given how smooth and dynamic every last action in the Dishonored series felt.
    The powers are pretty much just worse and more limited version of what we got in Dishonored. The Loop gimmick is fun and novel exactly once after which it becomes nothing but an annoyance and a chore.
    The game is also extremely easy, to a point where you don't really have a reason for even doing anything except sneaking past enemies or just killing them.
    It also quickly starts to feel more like a mildly tiresome chore where you have to deal with minor annoyances while you run from point A to point B where you have to do massive amounts of backtracking through these small, uninteresting and empty feeling areas.

    Is it the worst game I've ever played? Definitely not, but at its best it never rises above mediocrity while being outright terrible in other parts.    … Expand

    Great game! The design of the levels and the many different ways to play the game your way makes it a welcome entry into the rogue-like genre. Lots of reasons to retrace your steps and look for everything that may be hidden on each level. Highly recommend.

    I'm not a big fan of FPS games and after first day of playing Deathloop I thought I will send the game onto shelf and that's it. But...I gave it a go and i have to admit - I like it :) I like it a lot. Its not a typical FPS where you just go forward and shoot everything you find on your way. It has interesting story and I'm curious to find out what's gonna happen next.

    The game plays fabulously, the story is intriguing, the interaction between the main protagonist and Julianna above all is hilarious and very well written, the combat is really fun and adequately challenging. Especially once you progress a bit further into the story. While it's true that there are only 4 locations, they are just the right size so that they don't feel small and at the same time it doesn't feel tedious to explore and to backtrack. The areas also play differently during the 4 phases of a day, and there's always so much to explore and to discover.

    The only true downside I'd point out is the AI. While it's not terrible in general, it has its "moments". One shining example is that if you are in any way above the AI's eye level, it just fails to register you at all. This one time, I was for example standing on top of a one meter tall cliff, right next to which was a road patrolled by an AI enemy. The AI was directly facing me, yet did not register me. This truly should be fixed. Like I said though, overall the AI is not so bad and it's certainly not anything to bash the game with a low score.

    This is amazing game. At first you should get time to understand all mechanics, but after it will play more interesting. I am like immersive sim games, and this one of the best of them. I fill all negative scores on metacritic cause so many haters trying change opinion about games on a Ps5.

    The added multiplayer function of this game is something I really like. It can be punishing to play the level and then be killed and have to loop back to do it again, but you then get to find new ways to approach the level. Deathloop has been a great experience for me so far and look forward to the rest of the game.

    people that put zero because the game is repetitive dont understand the concept of a rogue-lite.
    I have a mid tier pc from 2018 and i got 60fps at 1440p in high. (look at the minimal spec before buying a game.)

Персонаж сразу становится очень живым, и его мнения по поводу той или иной ситуации довольно забавны. Вообще, подобный подход я первый раз подметил в серии Uncharted, и очень рад, что его стали применять и другие студии. Джесси из Control, Марианна из Medium, Бласковиц из Wolfenstein. По сравнению с прошлыми играми, ну может быть локации не столь вариативны и ветвисты, но тем не менее они не потеряли в деталях. Где-то, например, стоит автомат с викториной, пройти, которую, можно только найдя страницы с историей острова, которые на самом этом острове и разбросаны. Можно встретить начинающего игрока на гитаре, который с каждым пройденном интервалом времени суток будет играть все лучше и лучше.     1. The Combat, while fairly easy after a couple hours is amazing. Stealth is an easy but satisfying option every time. Every gun is unique and has its own personality (and I won’t lie the adaptive triggers and haptic feedback in the PS5 Dualsense definitely help with that) but even without that the gun play is superb. The hacking is also very ingenious and simple, while very fun. There is nothing better, than having no clue to infiltrate a compound to kill your target, without being spotted, when you spot a hackable turret in the room with them. 2. The Visuals, while staying pretty close to the classic “painting-in-motion” style of Arkane’s previous works, it still never fails to create a beautiful and detailed game-world. With the addition of Raytracing, this classic visual style is only enhanced. Also a shout out to the 60s (in my opinion more 70s Spy Thriller) atmosphere in the game. If a game now goes for a dated vibe, it will usually take tons of cues from the 50s or 80s, but the 60s/70s aren’t common and make the game feel like it has just that much more personality. 3. The Systems and mechanics of the game are very complex at times but interesting, and come together like a very hard to piece together, but beautiful 5000 piece jigsaw puzzle. The time-loop does well not to fall into a common trap set by similar time-loop like games. It doesn’t get boring. This is very important in the context of a game with a time-loop or 1 life mechanic in place, because there will inevitably be a lot of back-tracking and familiar sights. But in my time with Deathloop, I haven’t got bored at a single sight. And that, is impressive. The load out and set up screens are great at making you feel like your choice is truly respected, with many ways to set up, approach and look at a mission. Basically the game gives you a set of Objectives and lets you do literally whatever you want with them. The game is very centred around non-linear progression, and it rocks. The Loadout screen is great, and over time, you truly build up a dream arsenal, with your favourite weapons, abilities and perks (I guess?) equipped.

    4. The Levels are very distinct. Updaam is a small residential district, with lots of little apartments, independent shops and things like a mansion and public library. This has 4 time periods to explore it in, like all 4 of the levels featured in Deathloop. Each time period (morning, noon, afternoon and evening) drastically change the enemy placement, environment and even the events within the level, essentially making those 4 levels, 16. The Complex is basically what it sounds like. This is a complex… out near the ocean, with ice and snow galore at most times of the day, research facilities and the reactor/structure powering the loop. This is a very interesting level, and provides quite a bit of lore. I will leave out the other 2 locations as I do not want to spoil too much. It’s a joy to explore every environment in this game, and there is an unbelievable amount of variety for 4 levels. 5. The Music is hands down the best OST of any game this year so far. A lot of jazz and spy/mystery type notes and tunes. It really promotes the atmosphere of the game in a way only comparable to Fallout, with it’s licensed 50s music. But those were optional radio stations! This is engraved into the game. The way it almost feels like it’s playing to the sound of the in game gunfire, a bit like Doom. It’s soundtrack is a big part of the game, and that is a fact that is only accentuates how good it is. It also has some pretty big names, such as the theme tune performed by FJØRA. 6. The Plot follows you, Colt, skilled marksman and assassin trying to regain his memory after waking up on a beach on The Isle of Blackreef. He finds out that someone of the same tactical and combative prowess as him, Julianna Blake, is trying to kill him because he wants to break the loop. So, continuing what he thinks is his main goal, he intends to stop the timeloop tied to Blackreef, by killing all 8 Visionaries in one day. 7. Verdict: A very unique game full of game personality, and another high quality immersive sim from Arkane. I haven’t even mentioned the top notch voice acting and hilarious writing of the game, but that’s something I hope you find out for yourself! this is a must for any PS5 owner, and an end goal for any who don’t own the matte white tower for themselves. Pick this up as soon as possible. 10/10    … Expand

    This is one of those rare FPS shooters that you have to play once as it's a continuous loop that will keep the adrenaline going. Deathloop's concept is engaging, funny, and somehow very sly the way this game represents if I was comparing to Ubisoft's classic FPS shooter XIII.

My only advice is to be patient and stick with it, the game is best when you can emerse your self and recognize all the unique gameplay opportunities the game provides. If you're looking for a mindless title you can fly through without really paying attention, I wouldn't necessarily tell you to completely stay away as there is still plenty of mindless killing to be had, but I would say that you won't enjoy the game to its fullest possible extent and will really be missing out on a large chunk of what makes the game so special.    … Expand

    I'm having a lot of fun with this. Really engaging story, great voice acting. Fun game mechanics with a satisfying gameplay loop. AI could be better but it's not that detrimental to the overall experience. Definitely recommend.

    I've reviewed it on PC as i wasn't supporting money hatting timed contracts and higher prices, but I have to say the game deserves much better than to be review bombed.

    As good as dishonored? no, but poor? no. A solid 8/10.

    p.s. у меня 1060 6гб и fx-8320 (!!!) и у меня на низких, с некоторыми включенными функциями, типа FidelityFX и дальности прорисовки - 80фпс, в замесах минимум 60 видел. И я вполне могу поднять настройки и залочить фпс на 60, и играть в удовольствие. Картинка приятная, мыла вообще нет, зависаний тоже!

    Haven't played a lot yet, but so far it's great. I love Prey and Dishonored 1/2 so this one is right for me.

    What a disappointment. I loved the Dishonored series and Prey was possibly my favorite game of the last decade, and Deathloop just absolutely pales in comparison. It feels like they realized an unfinished concept. The games technical aspects are polished, but the content is very much lacking.

    The AI in this game is terrible and reminds me of the bots that used to be in Counter Strike before they redid the game in the source engine. Aiming is sloppy and imprecise. The guns have no visceral impact. Really wish I could return games via the PS-Store like you can on steam.

To put it simple, you put way to much unnecessary time to looting the same items/weapons after you dying, go around the same maps, killing the same enemies over, over, and over again, It feels like it never stops, since it is designed as a roguelike.     Deathloop offers well-designed stealth levels under the core gameplay of Roguelike. At the same time, the variety of weapons and special powers also support the exciting combat. Julianna's "invasion" adds the uncertainty of the game, but may also spoil the player's experience.

    I’m honestly surprised, because I did not expect to have so much fun with Deathloop. It draws some gameplay ideas from Dishonored, but introduces time-related mechanics, offers an intriguing story with interesting characters and has its own unique and coherent style. It’s an original game, full of surprises and addictive, but not necessarily easily digestible for everyone. For me however it’s one of the best titles of 2021. [11/2021, p.22]

    Deathloop is Arkane at its best, combining its system-driven immersive-sim gameplay with a unique and fascinating story set-up. Excellent presentation and style, along with fantastic dialogue and character performances makes Deathloop one of the most innovative games in years and a valuable PS5 exclusive.
