    Code Violet falls short of its inspirations. Although the concise adventure has some strong moments, with some great interior environments, it fails to create menacing enemies that evoke fear in the player. Bugs hinder the experience, often leading to clumsy moments that break the immersion. Unfortunately, fans of Dino Crisis will have to keep waiting for that spiritual successor they’ve been hoping for.

    It’s a campy, playable game. A game one can enjoy in a several sittings, when you have disposable time and money to spend. And perhaps a much lower price point.

    If you’re a die-hard fan of sci-fi and action horror with dinosaurs, you may find some elements to get excited about with Code Violet. It’s got potential in places, with some interesting lore sprinkled across the world, but it’s not going to be giving classic action horror titles a run for their pocket change anytime soon. Get Capcom on the phone.
