    Garbage game.

Filled with cheaters and hackers. The devs clearly don't give a f*ck about the community. Skill-based matching is awful and needs to be gone completely.

De plus après être arrivé à la moitié de la campagne, ma sauvegarde a été supprimée en relançant le jeu !! Activision se fout de notre gueule

    _________
4/10: A sequel to another propaganda game.
To keep up with neoliberal revisionist ideology - this time bad mouths Iran, as if Iran has no reason to be upset, let alone retaliate because the "US EMPIRE" assassinated Qassem Soleimani.

Campaign: Starts out fairly weak with the assassination of "Soleimani" character by the Imperial colonizers UK + US EMPIRE, then turns into Ghost Recon Wildlands and the Sicario movie and gradually becomes illogical throughout.

The premise of the missiles being a threat is watered down because they're just normal HIMARS missiles in shipping containers. There isn't anything of massive tension, let alone concern with these missiles.

Keeping up with revisionist tradition like MW I had, the opening scene with the cruise missile is implied to be hypersonic BUT the US have failed every hypersonic missile test to date. They do not have that technology.

Characters: You basically play as Gaz and Soap throughout the game. (Rodolfo, Ghost, and Shadow Company are negligible because their characters are never really fleshed out, or are just one time use throwaway missions for plot)

Supporting cast: Valeria is by far the best character in this entry. Perfectly cast and acted flawlessly.
Hassan is an okay character initially, he is marred by bad writing, any sense of logic is thrown away and only exists for post-game plot. (i.e: the Al Qatala invasion of Mexico+US)

Diego is here for a moment and gone the next. (Kind of irrelevant sicario to Valeria)

Kate Laswell is now a 'lesbian tokenism checklist' character with a awful in-game character model, still is the enemy (CIA), has some actual field work, but doesn't really do all that much.

Farah is a Xenophobic character that everyone seems to forget she's been designated as a terrorist.

Nikolai's story/plot/writing claims he's a "Russian patriot"... but he works with the Imperialist enemy & Farah which hates all Russians - a patriot would not do these things.

Coop has some design flaws - you have to pick a 'kit' (Assault/Medic/Recon) to use before you even matchmake, so you could end up picking the same kit with whoever you get matched with and then you're at a disadvantage, and you are unable to see your team mate's kit, nor able to change it after the match starts.

Multiplayer is a different can of worms. It does promote movement in most maps (except Crown Raceway and Taraq), but the overall feel is endless running eSport twitch shooter, and devoid of actual "war", most maps are sterile environments that don't have a uniform vision (unlike MW I 2019) and much like the initial concern over how the beta testing periods felt very unpolished, the "full game" is an extension of the beta and is nowhere near finished nor polished enough to warrant a release.

The game is filled with ungodly bugs up the yin yang, the UI is atrocious and SBMM has suked all the life out of the franchise and is here to stay even if people don't want it.

Regarding the overall incomplete state of the release - to compare to MW I (2019) that game was miles ahead and felt finished upon release.

There is still no way to choose a crossplay via peripherals. I still do not want to play against mouse-toting superior aim cheaters regardless of platform. It is not fun to do so.

In the midst of a huge cost of living crisis this is absolutely disgusting behaviour.

The seasons are now all shortened with rehashed and rushed "content" using the same old maps we've had in previous games as they don't care anymore, they've made their money. Trying to grind through the battle passes with half the time I'd normally have is an utter joke so I've just stopped playing and won't be returning to the franchise. Also, I like grind, domination, hardpoint and I hate team death match. If I could choose 10v10 and those good modes that would be perfect. 9/10 until we can vote for maps and combo 10v10 with good modes.

Finally I found the campaign somewhere hidden away at the bottom. Once I finally figured out how to play the game, the graphics were decent but the gameplay simply BORING. Not only does it not bring anything new, it’s a few steps backwards. This seems to really embody everything that‘s wrong with gaming now. You pay $70 for something that just tries to sell you more stuff. They spent more time on that than the game itself, probably. I’m so sick of this getting worse and worse. I’ve decided to personally boycott developers who do this. I won’t buy these games anymore. Grinding the battle pass takes too long with you only being able to gain 1 token in an hour which makes grinding the battle pass feel like a part time job. The flexibility of the campaign is laughable. Constant reminders of staying in the Mission Area, and against leaving it, and then being stuck in Spain, w/locked doors, and no explosives, then had to restart, made me close the game.

I do not play like that. I play like an adult, not a toddler.

Waiting patiently for Microsoft to takeover, so we can finally get the games, we deserve.

The abuse is enough. Activision has made the people addicted to COD, like alcohol did in the 20s and crack in the 90s.
They have used, abused and generally disrespected the OGs, and given the modern world, a pretty, but non-practical game.

Nobody talks in Multiplayer, and games are over, unless you are the person, to carry ungrateful bastards to Victory.

I am not, and never will be. You better follow an order, or fall out of favor.
I'd like to see one get abandoned in a real Warzone, and see how they'll react.

If you can't take a game serious, then what can you take serious?

Quit the game, go to the Home Screen, and delete it. Either that, or play Soios ALWAYS.

One benefit is youll never have a shortage of things to buy, even when youre lagging on your way into the laughable servers with your new 20$ skins and rose-colored glasses.

Theyve accrued billions in assets and choose to neglect even the most basic of necessities for an online multi-player shooter.

Stop giving these vultures your dollars and time, and perhaps maybe we'll see an overall uptick in the qualitative nature of the game, as opposes to the quantitative dollar counting they appear to be more content in doing.

    The campaign is good.
    Warzone is awful.
And multiplayer is ok. The game also lacks any content and most of the content they label as "new" was already there in MW2019 so its not new your reusing content and labeling it as "new".

On the other hand, the game looks phenomenal for an FPS and the extra features of the Dualsense add weight to the many available weapons. The multiplayer had lots of modes for every type of player. At the same time, it is very hard to find those modes you looking for in the many menu’s and pop-ups to make sure you are connected, subscribed or logged in.

Maybe it's just a personal conclusion that Call of Duty doesn't have the effect it used to in the past. In the end, I simply didn't enjoy this game and won’t likely play this franchise again.

    Pros:
    - Graphics

    Cons:
    - Downloading the game
    - Downloading pack 1
    - Downloading pak 2
    - Downloading Warzone
    - Downloading any other modes - Ending the main ‘villan’
    - Mission design

Not worth the money. I've had it with Infinity Ward. $70 gets you a short campaign, multiplayer that rarely gets any content, infuriating raids with zero replayability, "spec ops" which is by all means embarrassing, lifeless, and underdeveloped, and a ranked mode with more holes in it than anyone can count. Warzone is the focus, but Warzone is not what any of us paid for...and what's great is now they're adding exclusive game modes to Warzone that you can only play if you buy the game. WHO ASKED, IW? Is that an excuse for using the money we spend on "the best selling cod" entirely on Warzone and tossing the MP lads ONE decent map?

Game full of AI and there isn't a single mode you can play alone. Spec ops is terrible anyway. Limiting it to 2 players...game's not even balanced to recognize if the other player leaves, it's a mess lacking a lot of thought. Doubtful we ever see any meaningful updates beyond Raids, which, by definition, are NOT actual raids.

DMZ is a gimmick. I'm sure there's a small crowd enjoying it, somehow, but my friends all share this opinion...No real reward for playing, it's repetitive, and after a few runs you're left wondering what it is you're actually trying to accomplish, or why you're even bothering with it instead of playing any other mode. Compared to other Dark Zones or alike games it just lacks any momentum of it's own. Probably would have been better as just a PvE mode. Once again, funded by our purchases of the full game.

Look, it's good to explore new modes and try to build on, but make sure the core of what keeps people coming back is fully intact first. These MP mode variants have been down right abysmal. I like objective based modes so I try them all at least twice, and good lord not a single one of these playlists has been worth playing. The control points or hardpoint locations on some of these maps boggle ones mind as to the placement. Thank god for the map pool in ranked because a lot of these maps are self-admitted unbalanced. Which makes most casual play just a literal joke. Overall, I'm disappointed. Way too big of an investment to be left with so little to actually do. It SEEMS like there's SO many modes and things for you to try, when there is LESS campaign, LESS multiplayer, and LESS co-op than ever before in an IW game. Cold War makes this game look barebones, and deservedly so. Save your cash, play Warzone if you must...and drop to you knees with me and pray that Treyarch has enough time and legit kills it in 2024.

Make Call of Duty so good we get another Easter Eggs for Charity event. That's the world I want to live in. Make Zombies so good even Liam Winter himself returns to Zombies. #BRINGBACKEE4C

This is the least fun and worst call of duty game ever made. First of all the maps are so incredibly bad, each map has at least 20 windows to camp behind and 40 corners for campers. This is probably the most skilless game i have ever played cause of all the campers and if you combine that with skill based matchmaking you get a horrible game. The time to kill is about the same as vanguard which is way too fast and the gun balancing is also about as trash as vanguard. Footsteps are louder than ever, no red dots on the minimap which also promotes camping even more and combine that with the horrible maps and you get the best attempt at making the worst game i have ever played next to some mobile games. The developers clearly spent all their time and effort on the campaign and nothing else. The only gamemode that can be even slightly fun is ground war, but all of the other gamemodes are filled with prone campers with mines and no girlfriend. The developers never listen to the community and are only focussed on money. This game should have been for how bad and unfinished it actually is. The game is so unfinished because there are only around 10 gamemodes in total with 14 maps and out of those maps you only have 4 maps that are actually decent. There isnt even a hardcore playlist and gunfight, which is my favorite gamemode is also not in the game. There isnt even a combat record so now no one can show off how much they played or how many nukes they have. I have a ps5 and the game has already crashed on me 22 times, how is that even possible? I only have 40 hours on the game and i already came across 25 hackers, is there even an anti cheat? The time to kill is already as fast as the average person can blink, but if you get a headshot you can usually kill someone in 1-2 shots with almost any gun. The only good thing about the game is the graphics, but no one cares about graphics when the game itself is trash. Compared to vanguarbage, this game is somehow even worse. Expand

No gunfight, worse perks, less guns (unless you count 20 variations of the same thing), ruined ground war, no night maps, weird campaign and lies about a 2 year cycle when guaranteed they're going to release a $70 add-on next October because charging $20 for a skin isn't greedy enough for these parasites.

Game is still plagued with bugs that were in beta. UI design is criminal. Lack of content, support and bug fixes while the free warzone client explodes with content updates and support. Shoot first die first still a thing, go from running at least I say two good games before you're put into a lobby of sweats and or campers. Damage is inconsistent as hell. Respawning is ridiculously broken. Can't count how many times I've spawned in front of enemy fire. The lag is like Cod trademark. No matter how good of a connection I have the servers are crap. That Crossing bridge map is literally the worst Cod map ever made. Just on a bridge full of empty cars that constantly explode on you and an ally on the side is the best they could do? What about the other maps that were on the old mw2? Map voting? The game has crashed on me several times while in a lobby or while playing. This game is not close to being worth $70. Huge ripoff. This game is way better than Vanguard by a long shot. Campaign had great characters new and returning ones as well with a story that is kinda mediocre in terms of plot. The gameplay for the missions is one of the best and breaks tradition for COD game offering different types of styles and moods to each mission presented making each mission unique.

Multiplayer is a mix bag in a lot of ways as from what I've played. There are things in the game that have to be addressed such as the awful UI (User Interface) which was made by ex Hulu developers and it clearly shows. These types of menus should not be allowed in any triple A shooter game ever. The progression for weapons is questionable, in the past you'd mainly level up and once you got to say level 25 or something, you'd unlock a weapon. While that is still true here, there are now new ways to unlock not only guns but attachments as well. It will say in order to use this AR you have to level up a Marksman rifle to level 12 in order to use the AR you want. This is also the same for attachments like muzzles, barrels, grips etc. Making it feel like an unnecessary excuse to use guns that players may not want to use whether it's skill with the weapon or personal preference. The value of the game is bigger than any other COD launch with the amount of game modes in MP that if offers new and old ones combined, however the maps seem to be ehh at best and there isn't that many as compared to what Vanguard launched with most times you'll find yourself being bored playing the same map rotations and that can kill the reparability of the game. One of the modes Invasion, is set in the Ground War maps, but has both players and AI fighting in both teams. This is mode is amazing for XP and Weapon XP so if IW ever does a double XP event, go to that mode as you'll get XP for killing AI combined with getting player kills. New features like the firing range which is similar to the gun ranges we saw in both Advanced Warfare and COD WW2, it works the same way. You customize your gun and if you want to test it before going into public matches, you can hit the firing range button and test it out easily defiantly a great addition to bring back to COD and Warzone 2.

In terms of Spec Ops, it's better than what MW 2019 did but its not something you want to keep playing which just shows how Zombies for COD is a prime PVE mode rather than Spec Ops with only 3 missions and that's it. My take is that it will die out like MW 2019's spec ops did because of Warzone.

Overall, the game is a better value in terms of what you get for $69.99 across all platforms for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC in both Steam and Battle.net, but the main issues is just not really being casual and with problems that seem so overlooked for a COD game. We may have 2 years of this game, but Activision needs to step up and focus on quality rather than seeing how much money they can get out of our wallets in the store with all the bundles. It has great things and fun things to keep you playing, but not for a long time when SBMM comes in and turns matches into a CDL match. I enjoy this game, but it is nowhere near perfect and most focus already is going into Warzone 2 rather than focusing on the players that spent $70 on a game with missing features, glitches, sever issues and tick rate, horrible footstep audio, less maps, and a questionable weapon progression system makes this game not a look back in the glory days of COD, but trying to make a slower pace, try hard shooter FPS game that is not getting attention months after launch other than seeing what they can sell in the store for a quick buck.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Campaign & Story: The Story is terrible with logical fallacies everywhere such as when in the missions Close Air and Hardpoint, your objective is to capture Major Hassan Zyani who leads the fake terrorist group in the game Al-Qatala, after capturing Hassan, a cutscene plays in which General Shephard says that Zyani can't be imprisoned and that it would be an act of war and that he has broken no laws both of which are completely incorrect, first off the US is already in a war against Al-Qatala so who would the act of war be towards??? Second, Zyani broke 5 laws that are in 1 mission alone those being arson, attempted murder, being in a **** terrorist group, illegally crossing the US-Mexico border, and ordering another terrorist to fire a rocket launcher at cops. All of those are crimes so idk what they are talking about. Also, why would Shephard send us on the mission if he knew we couldn't hold Zyani??? The rest of the story is bland, dumb, unoriginal, and boring, the thing that saves the campaign is the gameplay/level design. I genuinely can't think of a mission in MW2 that wasn't fun!

Multiplayer: The multiplayer is incredibly fun! All of the guns feel great, shooting people feels great as it's always been, all of the guns feel like they matter, I think that almost every gun is viable in some way. There was a severe lack of maps and game modes at launch with there only being 13 multiplayer maps (10 multi, 3 ground war/invasion) and only 8 modes with only 3 of them being new modes. This lack of maps and modes is less than we have seen in almost any other COD game. Also, this might just be a bug on my part however I am unable to play the new control mode in anything other than private matches. All of the maps are good except for the Santa Sena Border Crossing map which is just a large lane filled with cars which makes movement clunky and if you use a grenade launcher, rpg, or grenade spam with restock, you can just throw grenades/other explosives and get tons of kills, other than that all of the maps are pretty good. The game does seem to be punishing aggressive players for some reason.

Gunsmith & Weapon Progression: Weapon progression is SOOOOO dumb, to unlock the Minibak you have to get your account to level 23 to unlock the Kastov 762 (AK47), get the Kastov 762 to level 12 which unlocks the Kastov 545, get the Kastov 545 to level 13 to unlock the Kastov-74U to level 15 which unlocks the Vaznev-9K to level 14 which unlocks the Minibak! The weapon progression is **** unlocking guns take forever along with attachments. Tuning is fun and adds a new level of customization to your gun. Only other thing I will say is that it kinda seems like attachments just make your guns worse.

Co-Op: Co-Op is laughable, less so than MW2019 but still terrible. At launch there were only 3 missions! 2 new missions were added as of 11/16/22 but only 3 missions! I honestly belived that Co-Op/spec ops were just going to be cut entirely because of how bad it was in mw2019. There was and still is no survival mode which is odd but kinda expected after seeing how little content there is in Co-Op.

Other Issues: The UI is terrible and reminds me of Hulu for some reason, it is VERY clunky trying to navigate the menus. This is just a rumor but there might be skill-based damage as players are experiencing that their bullets will deal more damage after a long streak of losses and/or deaths and vice versa. Skill-based matchmaking is terrible and seems to put you in lobbies that are in your previous matches k/d instead of lifetime/last 10 games. Example: You get a 1.3 k/d in a match, next match you get put up against a bunch of people who also got 1.3 k/ds last matches aka people who are absolute DEMONS at this game, then you get a 0.7 k/d and get put up against a bunch of other people who also got a 0.7 k/d last match aka people who are either really bad or really new. This just keeps repeating itself and leaves you in a constant loop of pain and happiness. Crashing in this game is INCREDIBLY common. I don't think I've had a single game that didn't have bugs/glitches. When I was playing the campaign, my game kept crashing during a specific moment in the mission Violence and Timing, when I looked up the error code that had appeared, it told me to uninstall the game and then reinstall it. After doing so (which took several hours) I tried the mission again and it didn't work. I was eventually able to fix it but crashes and glitches in this game are so rampant that it is almost unforgivable. They also locked 2 guns behind a paywall in the battle pass which means that it is pay to win and one of the guns that were locked behind the battle pass is the only sniper that can one shot to the head in warzone (all other snipers only break 3 armor plates).

    TL:DR

After Vanguard last year and Cold War in 2020, I was hesitant to pick up another Call of Duty game after the back-to-back disappointment. But the safety blanket of the words Modern Warfare in the title roped me back in – and I’m glad it did.

    STORY

Modern Warfare II is a sequel to the Modern Warfare reboot, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019). It’s 2022, and we rejoin SAS Captain Price, Sergeant Kyle “Gaz” Garrick, Lieutenant Simon “Ghost” Riley, and Sergeant John “Soap” MacTavish AKA Task Force 141 as they hunt down Quds Force Major Hassan Zyani for funding terrorist activity.

I found the narrative was hard to follow at some points, but the overall experience of the campaign kept me captivated throughout the 17 missions it had to offer. The missions on offer vary from your classic infiltration missions, and then your stealth, sniper and survival missions. Even though these missions had a type of angle intended for completion, the game in most parts allows you to finish them however you like. If being stealthy is not your thing, you can go guns blazing, even if it makes it a little more difficult. The mix-up of missions was great, although there were two air-borne missions in a row followed by a sniper mission which had me itching for a classic run-and-gun infiltration mission.

    GAMEPLAY

The core gameplay in MWII remains somewhat the same as its predecessor, which isn’t a bad thing. Infinity Ward does what it does best, and that is creating a Call of Duty game any FPS fan would enjoy. While some extra mechanics were added for story fulfillment purposes, there wasn’t anything new or inventive. Mission 13, “Alone”, introduced a crafting system that I thought was a welcome addition to the gameplay. It was probably one of my favourite missions, although one that I found the most challenging.

The AI during the campaign felt a little inconsistent. The enemies sometimes caught me off guard and my AI squad mate(s) saved me numerous times, whereas other times I would see AI follow questionable tactics. I could just stand at the top of the staircase and have countless enemies run straight into my line of fire. I might be harsh on the AI, but it doesn’t live up to the intellectual and independent AI that I recently loved in The Last of Us Part I.

    VISUALS

I played this on PlayStation 5 and I could tell that Infinity Ward wanted to push the limits of current-gen consoles. The game’s visuals are breathtaking and the cutscenes look like a live-action movie. Backdrops such as Amsterdam, Chicago, and the Texas/Mexico border are the most stunning and accurately crafted locations which had me in awe.

    MUTLIPLAYER

I’m going to talk about the multiplayer experience briefly. Call of Duty multiplayer is not for everyone. I prefer games like Apex Legends, which offer a more team-based experience. I occasionally dabble in Call of Duty multiplayer when my friends ask me to, but it has never been my go-to multiplayer game. I have played around 8-10 hours of multiplayer since Modern Warfare II‘s launch and I have to say it caught me off guard. I love it. That said, I can not play it for hours on end, but I am enjoying it despite some of the bugs it had at launch (but that is expected for a large-scale launch like Call of Duty). The maps are fun to play; most don’t feel too big or too small. If you just want to blow off some steam after a hard day at work, then it might be time to jump back into Call of Duty multiplayer.

    THE VERDICT

Infinity Ward has won me over with its delivery of a captivating Campaign mode and fun multiplayer. While no risks were taken with this iteration of COD, it was a tactical decision made to return the franchise to form.

    8.5/10

Answer: 75 characters is between 10 words and 19 words with spaces included in the character count. If spaces are not included in the character count, then 75 characters is between 12 words and 25 words.

Unenjoyable. Lazy execution. Maps are tired. Matchmaking is terrible. Lag spikes (due to poor matchmaking) makes it borderline unplayable.

Let's be honest, there's really no bigger title to compete in the FPS genre at the moment, both in terms of the sometimes mediocre content and this year's very polished graphics. [Issue#324]

A somewhat droll campaign will greet players of Modern Warfare II. It's a short bombastic romp with some fun gunplay moments and fantastic graphics. The multiplayer, however, is a miss as it is no longer a properly combined entity and the lack of replayability is disappointing. A recommendation for CoD fans but for anyone even slightly on the fence perhaps keep shopping or waiting for a sale.

CoD MW 2 is a refreshing single-player experience, providing players with some of the best action-packed moments and great characters, but riddled with multiplayer balancing issues and extreme performance and technical problems. It still is CoD and is fun for anyone who finds its casual shooting gameplay compelling, but it plays safely and doesn’t present itself as something revolutionary for the franchise.
