    Absolute trash. Game was unplayable at launch and is missing half the features despite being effectively a reskin of the MW2019. The perk system is awful. Not getting Ghost until halfway through a match is problematic. IW should be ashamed.

    Derivative, incomprehensible and so boring compared to the phenomenal MW I remake. The story makes no sense, the fan service is so cringeworthy and feels forced at every stage, it's like nobody at IW could come up with a single new idea and went for the worst option possible. The actors are wasted and there's hardly any decent dialogue, the relationship of Price and Gaz descending intoDerivative, incomprehensible and so boring compared to the phenomenal MW I remake.     Dreadful. Such a disappointment. All that hype for a half baked game. The campaign is lackluster, the multiplayer adds nothing new and it's expensive. It's just bad.

    No Hardcore at launch in unacceptable. UI designers need to be fired. Attachment unlocks are over complicated. And perk system is garbage. Infinity Ward too busy fixing things that aren't broken instead of releasing a complete game.

    This is the same CoD they've release every year sure its prety but with better hardware it should be and that gets a score of 1 from me. I don't recommend this game as its a waste on time and money.

    proximity mines are broken and are effortless kills and activision wont change it. camo grind is easy. graphics are great but fps is 35^% lower than mw2019 on same settings with my 3090, gonna be a pain on people below 20 series gpus.     This game is seriously overrated by people. More 007 game play and less bravo 6 going dark in the campaign which isn't too bad but that's only a few hours and the real rating comes from the multi-player. Guns are so not balanced and unlocking weapons is a hustle . They just want sell their **** bundles and became like fifa pay to win. The servers are also extremely bad as well as sbmm.This game is seriously overrated by people.     Pretty bad single player and incredibly unbalanced multiplayer. You get shot from everywhere. It’s one of the most unsatisfying CoDs to date. And the audio is absolutely atrocious. When you hear footsteps they might as well be behind you then way it sounds. And the game is buggy as hell. Massive disappointment.

    I bought into hype because of the “modern warfare” title once again. So I pre-ordered the game to play campaign early. Unfortunately, it felt more like a spinoff than a sequel.

    Usually, sequels are set up by the previous titles. But in MW II, the story is being set up in a prologue. 10 years ago we killed a baddie, so the antagonist wants to take a revenge. Too bad Al-Asad was left out for lousy MW I spec ops. And Zakhaev was killed in a Warzone cutscene. The new villain, Hassan, is not interesting.

    I’d much appreciate Farah’s brother who became a terrorist. That would be a great material for a misunderstood villain. All we know is that he was captured by CIA and that’s it lol. By the way, I cringed so hard when they let Hassan go.

    I understand that the sequel didn’t want to continue the “occupation war” theme. So instead, they went with a corruption theme. Modern warfare is just about corrupt cops and army, so we fight cartel. This felt more like Battlefield Hardline as I had to chase a freaking mexican gang. I liked the first part for its “spec ops: the line” vibes. While replaying, Farah’s mission has deeply resonated with me because of the Russian war against Ukraine. The new game doesn’t care about that anymore.

    I’ve also noticed that the game was trying to jump into different genres. There was a car chase mission that borrowed a lot from Uncharted. And then 1.5 missions with crafting features out of nowhere. That was odd! But when the series become repetitive, I suppose it’s no wonder the devs want to try something else.

    And what’s up with the ghost team? The ads seemed like we’d see ghost team in more action. And Farah was supposed to be a part of it! What we got was a 1-time mission for the ghost team. Somehow, at the end of that mission, no one wore the ghost masks anymore. That was very raw.

    Overall, I feel disappointed. I know that I shouldn’t bother because it’s just a COD 2K22. But the “modern warfare” games captured the best of my teenage years. That’s why I wanted the reboot to be just as good. I am a MW2 (2009) sucker!    … Expand

    Online connectivity is trash, classic reason I stopped paying cod a decade ago was dying right after rounding a corner (thinking you're safe) just to die because of connection inconsistencies.
    No improvement in the last decade means these devs (or the corp they work for) do not care about quality, only profit. Which, they continue to receive when people, like me, get duped into buying a steaming pile of garbage like this for a AAA premium...

    They know what they're doing.

    I would give the original MW2 a 9/10. This remake deserves a 0/10. I can't say the word enough - GARBAGE. Absolute TRASH. Avoid this game at all costs, as it will leave you feeling robbed of your time and money.

    I will NEVER buy another COD installment because of the consistent, time-proven shortcomings of the teams & companies responsible for producing such trash and fleecing the public of their hard-earned money for an experience that seriously is just... NOT WORTH IT ANYMORE.

    Garbage game. Waste of money. First the installation. We paid big money for it, couldn't they come with 2 Blu-ray discs so we wouldn't have to download huge updates just to play the campaign. Every year cod do like that to prevent friend borrow game. Secondly, come on, graphics like the same, at least jump to VR for God sakes

    The multiplayer is so horrendous. Crash for like 2-3 times. Performance is trash. The UI is dreadful. Incomplete mess. This like a beta all over again. Can't believe I pre ordered an unfinished game. There is no hardcore, no player stats, no reticles and the maps are a maze.    The game is not worth the price. Campaign ain't as good as mw2019.     Has to be one of the worst cods of all time. I thought vanguard was garbage but this game gave a whole new meaning to trash. It's a copy and paste from the 2019 MW. The game constantly crashes and is always putting you in lobbies with no lives that do nothing besides eat and play cod.

    Great graphics, horrible playability:( Crasches constantly, both in MP and Campaign:( Most of the time it just says i need to "download content" but all is downloaded allready.

    The few matches i've managed to play were not too enjoyable either, as weapons and upgrades feel clunky and useless, perks are just sad and maps are just as much of a mess as mw 2019:( 2 stars for the graphics alone

    There is literally only 5 small maps to play MP 3 of which are awful..sbmm is terrible vs great player but paired with less than ok players and weapons are a recoil nightmare this has to be one of the worst COD releases to date

    After playing the game for hours I can say this was a waste of time and money. Sure the game showcases stunning visuals and decent sound design but the gameplay does not meet my expectations. This may be the worse COD game I've played in years.

    4/10: A sequel to another propaganda game.
    To keep up with neoliberal revisionist ideology - this time bad mouths Iran, as if Iran has no reason to be upset, let alone retaliate because the "US EMPIRE" assassinated Qassem Soleimani.

    Campaign: Starts out fairly weak with the assassination of "Soleimani" character by the Imperial colonizers UK + US EMPIRE, then turns into Ghost Recon Wildlands and the Sicario movie and gradually becomes illogical throughout.

    The premise of the missiles being a threat is watered down because they're just normal HIMARS missiles in shipping containers. There isn't anything of massive tension, let alone concern with these missiles.

    Keeping up with revisionist tradition like MW I had, the opening scene with the cruise missile is implied to be hypersonic BUT the US have failed every hypersonic missile test to date. They do not have that technology.

    Characters: You basically play as Gaz and Soap throughout the game. (Rodolfo, Ghost, and Shadow Company are negligible because their characters are never really fleshed out, or are just one time use throwaway missions for plot)

    Supporting cast: Valeria is by far the best character in this entry. Perfectly cast and acted flawlessly.
    Hassan is an okay character initially, he is marred by bad writing, any sense of logic is thrown away and only exists for post-game plot. (i.e: the Al Qatala invasion of Mexico+US)

    Diego is here for a moment and gone the next. (Kind of irrelevant sicario to Valeria)

    Kate Laswell is now a 'lesbian tokenism checklist' character with a awful in-game character model, still is the enemy (CIA), has some actual field work, but doesn't really do all that much.

    Farah is a Xenophobic character that everyone seems to forget she's been designated as a terrorist.

    Nikolai's story/plot/writing claims he's a "Russian patriot"... but he works with the Imperialist enemy & Farah which hates all Russians - a patriot would not do these things.

    Coop has some design flaws - you have to pick a 'kit' (Assault/Medic/Recon) to use before you even matchmake, so you could end up picking the same kit with whoever you get matched with and then you're at a disadvantage, and you are unable to see your team mate's kit, nor able to change it after the match starts.

    Multiplayer is a different can of worms. It does promote movement in most maps (except Crown Raceway and Taraq), but the overall feel is endless running eSport twitch shooter, and devoid of actual "war", most maps are sterile environments that don't have a uniform vision (unlike MW I 2019) and much like the initial concern over how the beta testing periods felt very unpolished, the "full game" is an extension of the beta and is nowhere near finished nor polished enough to warrant a release.

    The game is filled with ungodly bugs up the yin yang, the UI is atrocious and SBMM has suked all the life out of the franchise and is here to stay even if people don't want it.

    Regarding the overall incomplete state of the release - to compare to MW I (2019) that game was miles ahead and felt finished upon release.

    There is still no way to choose a crossplay via peripherals. I still do not want to play against mouse-toting superior aim cheaters regardless of platform. It is not fun to do so.

    The unlock system is a complete desaster. You have to play a bunch of random guns you don't like to unlock everything for a weapon you actually want to use. And now with season 1 one of the guns they added is only unlockable by playing a warzone mode you have to install separately. **** ****

    In a match whole swathes of level geometry just vanish for seconds at a time. Sometimes you can't use killstreaks anymore starting in the middle of a match.

    IW has done almost nothing to fix all those issues, it's gonna take a year until it's playable from a pure technical standpoint.

    TLDR: Horrible hitreg, netcode delay, flashbang, short TTK, long ADS time, long sprint out, riot shields, cluster mines, ledge hangs, bugged damage, bugged aim assist, awful unlock system, new weapons locked in different games, **** bugged UI.     The campaign was great. Weapons behaviour is good especially with ps5 triggers controller. But after playing many hours of multiplayer and warzone I realised that there are a lot of cheaters that using cronus zen and aimbot as a result to destroying the game. In general multiplayer experience is really bad and boring!

    Game full of AI and there isn't a single mode you can play alone. Spec ops is terrible anyway. Limiting it to 2 players...game's not even balanced to recognize if the other player leaves, it's a mess lacking a lot of thought. Doubtful we ever see any meaningful updates beyond Raids, which, by definition, are NOT actual raids.

    DMZ is a gimmick. I'm sure there's a small crowd enjoying it, somehow, but my friends all share this opinion...No real reward for playing, it's repetitive, and after a few runs you're left wondering what it is you're actually trying to accomplish, or why you're even bothering with it instead of playing any other mode. Compared to other Dark Zones or alike games it just lacks any momentum of it's own. Probably would have been better as just a PvE mode. Once again, funded by our purchases of the full game.

    Look, it's good to explore new modes and try to build on, but make sure the core of what keeps people coming back is fully intact first. These MP mode variants have been down right abysmal. I like objective based modes so I try them all at least twice, and good lord not a single one of these playlists has been worth playing. The control points or hardpoint locations on some of these maps boggle ones mind as to the placement. Thank god for the map pool in ranked because a lot of these maps are self-admitted unbalanced. Which makes most casual play just a literal joke. Overall, I'm disappointed. Way too big of an investment to be left with so little to actually do. It SEEMS like there's SO many modes and things for you to try, when there is LESS campaign, LESS multiplayer, and LESS co-op than ever before in an IW game. Cold War makes this game look barebones, and deservedly so. Save your cash, play Warzone if you must...and drop to you knees with me and pray that Treyarch has enough time and legit kills it in 2024.

    Make Call of Duty so good we get another Easter Eggs for Charity event. That's the world I want to live in. Make Zombies so good even Liam Winter himself returns to Zombies. #BRINGBACKEE4C    … Expand

    Wanted to play the single player campaign while waiting for Final Fantasy 16 to release since I’m bored with everything else. Read some reviews saying it was solid so I thought why not. Not only does it not bring anything new, it’s a few steps backwards. This seems to really embody everything that‘s wrong with gaming now. You pay $70 for something that just tries to sell you more stuff. They spent more time on that than the game itself, probably. I’m so sick of this getting worse and worse. I’ve decided to personally boycott developers who do this. I won’t buy these games anymore. They’re mediocre to begin with, and when you add the micro transactions that come from free mobile apps for your phone, it takes it down several more notches, which is why this “2” is an honest one.… Expand

    Horrible. Never said this about a COD game before but here we are. Can't even progress through the campaign because of a glitch. And the offline multiplayer (I'm an offline gamer) is the worst. THE worst. You cannot even customize loadouts. There are a few loadouts you can choose from and thats it. For online? Of course you can already buy lots of skins. Don't buy the game.

    Greedy Activision... I bought the LA Skin because it looked nice... Now it's been nerfed and it looks like a clown costume. I feel cheated of my money. To date they haven't managed to fix the quest bar for the daylies or the number of tokens for the season pass. You can nerf a skin in one day. Shame on you!

The developers clearly spent all their time and effort on the campaign and nothing else. The only gamemode that can be even slightly fun is ground war, but all of the other gamemodes are filled with prone campers with mines and no girlfriend. The developers never listen to the community and are only focussed on money. This game should have been for how bad and unfinished it actually is. The game is so unfinished because there are only around 10 gamemodes in total with 14 maps and out of those maps you only have 4 maps that are actually decent. There isnt even a hardcore playlist and gunfight, which is my favorite gamemode is also not in the game. There isnt even a combat record so now no one can show off how much they played or how many nukes they have. I have a ps5 and the game has already crashed on me 22 times, how is that even possible? I only have 40 hours on the game and i already came across 25 hackers, is there even an anti cheat? The time to kill is already as fast as the average person can blink, but if you get a headshot you can usually kill someone in 1-2 shots with almost any gun. The map layouts are messy and poorly layed out leaving you running into a sniper spot that overlooks 50-90%of the map completely cutting out any level of competitiveness, and speaking of, SBMM has completely erased the variety of matches, leaving you in a loop of getting steam rolled until your average KD lowers to the point to where you have a decent Mach then right back to the sweat box for what seems like a solid 72 hours. If you fee you might want this, just wait another 6months when the game maybe might work a little better and maybe just maybe activision decides to actually balance their $70 dollar “TRIPPLE A” title… Expand

They had a system that worked before, it was called pick ten. If a perk was good, it would take up two slots, sometimes three meaning, you'd have fewer options to choose from i.e maybe you couldn't care about a lethal or a tactical. there are hundreds of different attatchments to choose from. of those hundreds, 95% of utterly usless. Also, why should I unlock an smg, to get an attacthment for an ar? there is no correlation between those weapons. I could understand battle rifles and ar's, marksman rifles and snipers sure, but that is stupid. Not to mention to unlock certain attatchments you also need to level a pistol. Makes 0 sense. Not. One. Good. Map. Not to mention only 9 on release, now there's 11 yay, oh wait their old maps that have already been in the game and somehow, they made them worse due to how **** their spawn system works. The sun on some maps, is blinding to the point you can't see three feet in front of you. Let me not get started on all the bugs that happen, the crashing that is still occuring from time to time, random lag spikes, and frame drops. How does a multimillion dollar game company screw up time and time again? Epic games with fortnite was able to come out of pretty much no where, and make the most popular game for almost 5 years straight. The devs do not listen to the community, it is evident.     I cannot recommend this. The maps are so cluttered, and shipment has severe spawning issues. The sweats and people in the online are unbearable. Just people that make politics their whole personality. Or they want to harass minorities. I emailed Activision about some highly offensive user names, and no reply yet. This game is still the same cookie cutter embarrassment it has always been.

    A downgrade on MW2019. No gunfight, worse perks, less guns (unless you count 20 variations of the same thing), ruined ground war, no night maps, weird campaign and lies about a 2 year cycle when guaranteed they're going to release a $70 add-on next October because charging $20 for a skin isn't greedy enough for these parasites.

    You support this and you get what you deserve.

    The game is good in my opinion compared to the Poop dumpster VANGUARD its really good. Oh though the campaign was kinda confusing it made sense what it was trying to lead up too and what it was trying to tell, unlike Bo3 and the gameplay and art was a 10/10.     The abuse is enough. Activision has made the people addicted to COD, like alcohol did in the 20s and crack in the 90s.
    They have used, abused and generally disrespected the OGs, and given the modern world, a pretty, but non-practical game.

    Nobody talks in Multiplayer, and games are over, unless you are the person, to carry ungrateful bastards to Victory.

    I am not, and never will be. You better follow an order, or fall out of favor.
    I'd like to see one get abandoned in a real Warzone, and see how they'll react.

    If you can't take a game serious, then what can you take serious?

    Quit the game, go to the Home Screen, and delete it. Either that, or play Soios ALWAYS.

    I hope some day, those kinds of individuals, feel one day, what I felt. Betrayed, down, and dirty.

    Modern warfare 2 has a really bad multiplayer experience which punishes you for trying to be aggressive. Grinding the battle pass takes too long with you only being able to gain 1 token in an hour which makes grinding the battle pass feel like a part time job. The best way to play this game is by camping otherwise you'll be dying every second by people who camp.

    The campaign is good.
    Warzone is awful.
    And multiplayer is ok. The game also lacks any content and most of the content they label as "new" was already there in MW2019 so its not new your reusing content and labeling it as "new".

    Its a shame because their attempts to create large scale maps prove they have little in the way of awareness when it comes to map creation. The large scale maps (64 players) have a very consistent loss rate on one side of the map. Quite telling that they have nearly no awareness and likely are    Poor map design, poor connectivity, poor tick rate, poor UI, poor in every sense of the word.

    Its a shame because their attempts to create large scale maps prove they have little in the way of awareness when it comes to map creation. The large scale maps (64 players) have a very consistent loss rate on one side of the map. Quite telling that they have nearly no awareness and likely are bulked up with equity hires that never played a competitive game in their life, and likely never even experience their own poor creations to boot.

    One benefit is youll never have a shortage of things to buy, even when youre lagging on your way into the laughable servers with your new 20$ skins and rose-colored glasses.

    Theyve accrued billions in assets and choose to neglect even the most basic of necessities for an online multi-player shooter.

    Stop giving these vultures your dollars and time, and perhaps maybe we'll see an overall uptick in the qualitative nature of the game, as opposes to the quantitative dollar counting they appear to be more content in doing.    … Expand

    Let's be honest, there's really no bigger title to compete in the FPS genre at the moment, both in terms of the sometimes mediocre content and this year's very polished graphics. [Issue#324]

    A somewhat droll campaign will greet players of Modern Warfare II. It's a short bombastic romp with some fun gunplay moments and fantastic graphics. The multiplayer, however, is a miss as it is no longer a properly combined entity and the lack of replayability is disappointing. A recommendation for CoD fans but for anyone even slightly on the fence perhaps keep shopping or waiting for a sale.

    CoD MW 2 is a refreshing single-player experience, providing players with some of the best action-packed moments and great characters, but riddled with multiplayer balancing issues and extreme performance and technical problems. It still is CoD and is fun for anyone who finds its casual shooting gameplay compelling, but it plays safely and doesn’t present itself as something revolutionary for the franchise.
