    Another failed COD, even worse than MW2019 (which was also a failed COD). I didn't think they could get any worse, but they just keep recycling old garabge with a new battle pass to sell.

    Skip this one, you're truly not missing out on anything.

    Lacklustre the game. I had held up and copy of this and Gotham knights, now I wish I went with the later. Campaign is short and uninspired, it literally reminded me of when I use to play COD which was many years ago, I think the last one was the first MW. This felt the same but different and I see the main thing the positive reviews mentioned was it feeling the same or nostalgic…why isLacklustre the game.     The game is not worth the price. Campaign ain't as good as mw2019. Those armored enemies breaks the realism.

    The multiplayer is so horrendous. Crash for like 2-3 times. Performance is trash. The UI is dreadful. Incomplete mess. This like a beta all over again. Can't believe I pre ordered an unfinished game. There is no hardcore, no player stats, no reticles and the maps are a maze.    The game is not worth the price. Campaign ain't as good as mw2019.     Without cheaters swarming the game this game would be a solid shooter 8/10, however because it is filled with cheaters and the company who created it supports them my 8/10 turns to 0/10. TOTAL GARBAGE! Fix this crap or the real gamers will leave!

    Derivative, incomprehensible and so boring compared to the phenomenal MW I remake. The story makes no sense, the fan service is so cringeworthy and feels forced at every stage, it's like nobody at IW could come up with a single new idea and went for the worst option possible. The actors are wasted and there's hardly any decent dialogue, the relationship of Price and Gaz descending intoDerivative, incomprehensible and so boring compared to the phenomenal MW I remake.     The spawning points are horrible, the upgrade system is even worse. Why do I have to use weapons that I don't want to in order to unlock equipment and weapons I do want to? Anyway. There's no way I would have bought this game. It just came free with one of my friends ps5 purchases bundle. The gunplay is good. Just a lot of bad decisions to go along with it.

    Loved to play in an open lobby in the old mw2. Played there for hours with the same people and found friends.

    At first I have to say the last 3 days of playing were real fun. The game looks, sounds and feels good. But some things made me a really bad feeling. As mentioned after playing the Beta I thought it will be a UAV spam party. And so it is. The new perk system with the none showing minimap + the too loud footsteps audio took away the flow by half of a match. Now the UAV is the mostAt first I have to say the last 3 days of playing were real fun. The game looks, sounds and feels good. But some things made me a really bad feeling.     The perk system really needs to be overhauled! Give us back 3 perks which we can choose ourself and maybe add a improvement system for this perks. What I have seen is that this is a major problem. In a lot of matches there where just teammates which shot on every UAV to avoid this camping behavior some people have which is due to the minimap/perk system/footsteps audio.     Has to be one of the worst cods of all time. I thought vanguard was garbage but this game gave a whole new meaning to trash. It's a copy and paste from the 2019 MW. The game constantly crashes and is always putting you in lobbies with no lives that do nothing besides eat and play cod.

    Where do I start, this is possibly one of the worst COD games to release in some time. I never understood when they thought it was a good idea to make cod games more realistic, as that has never been their selling point. They had a system that worked before, it was called pick ten. If a perk was good, it would take up two slots, sometimes three meaning, you'd have fewer options to choose from i.e maybe you couldn't care about a lethal or a tactical. there are hundreds of different attatchments to choose from. of those hundreds, 95% of utterly usless. Also, why should I unlock an smg, to get an attacthment for an ar? there is no correlation between those weapons. I could understand battle rifles and ar's, marksman rifles and snipers sure, but that is stupid. Not to mention to unlock certain attatchments you also need to level a pistol. Makes 0 sense. Not. One. Good. Map. Not to mention only 9 on release, now there's 11 yay, oh wait their old maps that have already been in the game and somehow, they made them worse due to how **** their spawn system works. The sun on some maps, is blinding to the point you can't see three feet in front of you. Let me not get started on all the bugs that happen, the crashing that is still occuring from time to time, random lag spikes, and frame drops. How does a multimillion dollar game company screw up time and time again? Epic games with fortnite was able to come out of pretty much no where, and make the most popular game for almost 5 years straight. The devs do not listen to the community, it is evident. If they did, the games would be fun to play. only reason this gets a 4/10 is because the campaign was fantastic. That is it though. No other redeeming quality about this game.… Expand

    It is not playable COD at all. I have glitch with "transparent walls for lighting", which does not appear in any mode except campaign. I cannot fix it and cannot finish campaign mode. There are so many bugs for such price, do not waste money. This game was made for selling skins and not for players.

    Sniper rifles outclassing SMG’s at 5 feet. Bunny hoppers and Jacques Cousteau wannabes diving all over the place. Terrible maps. Horrendous UI. whose bright idea was it to force you to use other types of weapons to unlock the class of weapon you like to use? Waste of $70.

    The campaign was great. Weapons behaviour is good especially with ps5 triggers controller. But after playing many hours of multiplayer and warzone I realised that there are a lot of cheaters that using cronus zen and aimbot as a result to destroying the game. In general multiplayer experience is really bad and boring!

The last 4 call of duty games have been half ass made without much thought or care put into them and it's obvious. This awful game is not worth $70.     I enjoyed the campaign, was fun. Content is okay, but the UI is horrible, confusing weapons, day 1 release looks like a beta, I'm using weapons i hate just to unlock stuff, u don't know what you unlocked, filled with bugs, losing interest, adaptive triggers are less intense than Cold War, just garbage day 1 release.

    I can honestly say that after growing up with multiple COD games, this one takes the cake for being the worst. They released an unfinished game…menus glitchy, laggy lobbies (all my other games play smooth), and just some of the worst gunfight logic I have ever seen in my life. I highly recommend that YOU DO NOT buy this game, as I think the game is worth $20 with the amount of work putI can honestly say that after growing up with multiple COD games, this one takes the cake for being the worst. Maps are boring and this game turned into a pointles grind in under 2 weeks. I really wanted to enjoy this game but its either sweaty lobbies with artificial lag or a room full of campers, or all the listed above together.     Quand on télécharge le jeu, on n'installe pas Call Of Duty Modern Warfare II, on télécharge Warzone, le jeu vendu 80€ est en réalité le DLC d'un jeu gratuit. De plus après être arrivé à la moitié de la campagne, ma sauvegarde a été supprimée en relançant le jeu !! Activision se fout de notre gueule

    The multiplayer is absolute garbage, the maps are awful, awful all of them, not a single decent map and there's something off about them. They're all generic, with a pretty bad flow and most of them uninspiring. And that's my main issue, the maps are so bad this game cannot be saved unless they start from scratch. MW2019 had only 2 maps that were a bit a bad, but here every map is downright awful. Feels like i'm in some kid's playgrouns instead of actual combat zones or warfare maps.
    Also, the MP looks visually worse than MW2019, why is that? Everything looks downgraded, more cartoony and too colorful for my taste. The textures, the foliage, everything has been pretty much downgraded for no reason.
    The gameplay mechanics have changed for the worse, now everyone bunny-hops or just camps at the corner of the map. The movements have changed as well, it's clunkier.
    The guns feel different, and the recoil has been exaggerated here. Also, why did they replace their real names? Visually they look like plastic, that's another downgrade.
    Also, violence has been reduced, there's less gore and dismemberment is no longer there. What were they thinking?
    The UI is horrendous, problematic and hard to navigate. Same goes for the gunsmith and the weapon unlock, awful.
    The MP feels like it was developed by Treyarch Games and it feels absolutely bad, they make mediocre games and i absolutely avoid them. What's more it plays and feels like a mobile game instead of a PC and console game like the previous MW.
    SBMM has been cranked up to the max and there's no chill in this game anymore.
    The operator design are something straight out of a comic book and they're all horrible.
    Also, they added bots, another big NO.
    Coop missions are pretty simple and boring, nothing even close to the masterpiece of MW2019 coop missions.
    Ground War and Invasion are OK, but gets old real quick. Especially if there are bots in the match.

    I tried to like the game, but i just can't. The maps are too bad for me to handle, at this point i'll be going back to MW2019 real soon. There's no point in playing something i don't enjoy.
    That's it, i always trusted IW over any other developer that made COD, but they dropped the ball. I think i'm done for good with this franchise. This is just a sad end.

    We're probably talking about one of the worst Call Of Duty game ever created. I cannot believe i waited three years for this garbage.
    The only reason i'm giving this a two is because the gun sounds are even better than before, but that's all that there is too it.    … Expand

SMBB is disgusting! half of match sniper 1 shoot kill another half
    match 2 -3 bullets kill them. shootgun also. other weapons dont have chance, when smbb kick in. you shoot but enemy dont even getting shoot just go straight thru them. sometimes u win 1 match and everybody die from 1 bullet and then another round u cant hit **** i have high end pc and fiber connection! i am over 30 and played duty all my life. i am back at playing garbage like vanguard because right now is more optimized!    … Expand

    Great graphics, horrible playability:( Crasches constantly, both in MP and Campaign:( Most of the time it just says i need to "download content" but all is downloaded allready.

    The few matches i've managed to play were not too enjoyable either, as weapons and upgrades feel clunky and useless, perks are just sad and maps are just as much of a mess as mw 2019:( 2 stars for the graphics alone

    There is literally only 5 small maps to play MP 3 of which are awful..sbmm is terrible vs great player but paired with less than ok players and weapons are a recoil nightmare this has to be one of the worst COD releases to date

You pay $70 for something that just tries to sell you more stuff. They spent more time on that than the game itself, probably. I’m so sick of this getting worse and worse. I’ve decided to personally boycott developers who do this. I won’t buy these games anymore. They’re mediocre to begin with, and when you add the micro transactions that come from free mobile apps for your phone, it takes it down several more notches, which is why this “2” is an honest one.… Expand

Glitchy multiplayer, pathetic campaign that has ridiculous silly things it asks of you like crafting shivs on a assault on a tower block full of terrorists with launch controls for a scud missile? Really? 3 spec ops missions that are coop that replace zombies or a horde survival mode. It's.crap.

    I absolutely love the game but am giving it a 2 strictly due to how broken and unusable the games menus and features are. For a AAA title such as Call of Duty I would expect there to be no issues with basic things such as the menus. If your looking at the final weapon, you can’t even scroll to the end to see all of the attachments. The ideas behind most of the new features and quality of life changes are good in theory but you have to execute. And who ever programmed these menus and who ever okayed them for the final build should be fired. I love the idea behind attachments unlocking across a weapon category vs each individual weapon. But why do I have to wait to unlock an attachment in a given slot for a weapon when I have already unlocked attachments for that weapon from a previous weapon. Some of the weapons don’t have you unlocking various attachments until half way through the weapons progression. Why do I have to wait until level 7 to unlock a sniper rifles scope attachment? And then when you do the 10 or so other ones you have unlocked are there too. This feature was advertised as unlock for one unlock for all that use it all to decrease the monotonous slow grind. But you still have to grind. And then finally the sheer lack of guidance/menus for calling cards, awards, weapon attachments, and camos. A feature that is and has been present in these games since the original Modern Warfare. Missing unlock information for various weapon attachments, or the game saying that you have unlocked something but then that item showing up still locked and unusable. Like I said the game is amazing and I can’t put it down but with the fact that most of my issues are things that should have never made it past initial testing and quality control. Makes it hard to give the game a higher score for such amateur and basic mistakes.… Expand

Multiplayer is very bad, it is very difficult outside of other cods. bad spawn points, they spawn all over the map so they can spawn kill you. 80% of my deaths are in my back simply because they spawn in my back. Saw it myself on the killcam. if i try to shoot someone it takes forever to kill him, if he shoot me then i don't even have timethe only thing good about this game is campaign.     Pretty bad single player and incredibly unbalanced multiplayer. You get shot from everywhere. It’s one of the most unsatisfying CoDs to date. And the audio is absolutely atrocious. When you hear footsteps they might as well be behind you then way it sounds. And the game is buggy as hell. Massive disappointment.

    Take the map "Embassy", for example ( https://callofdutymaps.com/modern-warfare-ii/embassy/ ). The tennis court in the NW corner is nothing more than a huge chunk of empty space that nobody will ever use. There are roofs and balconies and a helipad that could add fun and variety to the matches, but the players can't access them.

    2009's MW2 on the other hand launched with 16 (SIXTEEN!) core & HARDCORE multiplayer maps including a few classics like Favela, Highrise, Rust, Scrapyard, Terminal, Afghan, Quarry, and Karachi.

    So instead of including a great variety in maps at launch or remaking some old classics, Activision decides to introduce different game modes instead, including modes with jarhead AI running around.

    Leveling up guns has never felt like more of a mindless chore and the UI design is really confusing.

    This might just be the most boring CoD game launch ever. Multiplayer is just another rushed $70-100 game obviously designed just to level up weapons for use in the upcoming Warzone 2.    … Expand

    Horrible. Never said this about a COD game before but here we are. Can't even progress through the campaign because of a glitch. And the offline multiplayer (I'm an offline gamer) is the worst. THE worst. You cannot even customize loadouts. There are a few loadouts you can choose from and thats it. For online? Of course you can already buy lots of skins. Don't buy the game.

    - SBMM (Skill Based Matchmaking) is once again extremely strong and you get into lobbies with only "equally strong" players. This makes virtually every match feel almost the same because SBMM rarely gets you into a round where you can really go off. This takes away from the fun factor and also has nothing to do with CoD for a long time.
    This game is NOT a competitive online game like Valorant and co., yet Activision tries to turn CoD into one. As an excuse for it, you don't want to "scare off" the newbies directly by good players, hence the SBMM, so that you just can't get into a round with exactly such noobs. Rarely heard such a nonsense.

    - What I find almost worse than SBMM is the ungodly short TTK, so Time-To-Kill. It doesn't take half a second until you or your opponent is down. You have no chance to react if you get shot from somewhere, because you are instantly dead. No normal human has such a good reaction time to be able to react to something like that. The TTK is total **** and I really want to know what the developers were thinking.

    - Because of this extremely modest TTK, aggressive playing (e.g. my playing style) is punished all the more harshly. You have almost no chance to react in time to an opponent when you run/move. At the same time, it encourages campers and almost the entire lobby just starts waiting somewhere instead of moving through the damn map. Please, what kind of **** is this?

    - This spasmodic realism since MW2019 gets on my nerves as well. The extreme realism was upped another notch in MW2 compared to its predecessor - and by god, realism and CoD are things that do NOT **** go together. Take a look at the essays: There are heaps of them, especially for the sights. Plus ultra detailed descriptions instead of simple ads about the pros and cons of the different attachments. Who on earth takes the time to read through all that and then select the appropriate attachments?

    - I don't have to say much about the maps. You just notice that they were once again designed only for campers and worse players, because you can headglitch and camp almost everywhere, so that the noobs can get some kills. This simple "three-way-system" doesn't exist anymore, instead the maps are extremely twisted and complicated, windows and doors everywhere and so on. What a disaster.

    Other points that upset me (and probably many others):

    - Where is the map voting please? NO ONE wants to play on the map with all the cars.
    - Why the hell don't you stay in the lobby after the round?
    - Why is it now so easy to get a gold camouflage for example? So that the noobs can also get a gold camouflage or what?
    - Where can you see your stats (KDA, Wins, etc.)? Did Activision remove this so that the noobs don't see how bad they are?
    - Why are there so many bugs that didn't even exist in the beta? Why the hell are you releasing an unfinished game?!
    - Who came up with these names for the weapons, please? "Lachmann", seriously?
    - Why are there hackers in this game NOW? Is your anti-cheat system really that garbage?
    - Which one of you programmed the spawn system? This is an impudence.
    - Why did you weaken the movement so much? Oh yes, so that the noobs are still protected.
    - The menu and the entire interface is an imposition.
    - The visibility in this CoD is just bad, you can't see anything.
    - Why is dead silence still not available as a perk?
    - Speaking of perks, the new perk system was a pretty modest idea.

    I think I've been upset enough up to this point. The only good thing about this game is the campaign, which is unfortunately very short. I can safely advise you against the multiplayer. Do yourself a favor and invest the 80-90€ somewhere else. As long as you support Activision with your money, nothing at all will change in Call of Duty and they will continue to enforce their damn ideology, just to "protect" some family men in their mid-40s, who rarely had a controller in their hands.     SBMM in Ranked is fine. Because, thats LITERALLY what ranked is. but whats the point of adding a ranked mode if CASUAL IS RANKED?

    Solution: Casual and Ranked mode exists, casual should be CASUAL and have no sbmm and ranked should be ranked, because ranked. is. literally. sbmm. Skill based matchmaking IS RANKED.

Shoot first die first still a thing, go from running at least I say two good games before you're put into a lobby of sweats and or campers. Damage is inconsistent as hell. Go from one hard-core game where you kill them in a shot or two to the next game where you get hitmarkers out the ass and takes two to three shots to the head to kill them in hard-core. Respawning is ridiculously broken. Can't count how many times I've spawned in front of enemy fire. The lag is like Cod trademark. No matter how good of a connection I have the servers are crap. That Crossing bridge map is literally the worst Cod map ever made. Just on a bridge full of empty cars that constantly explode on you and an ally on the side is the best they could do? What about the other maps that were on the old mw2? Map voting? The game has crashed on me several times while in a lobby or while playing. This game is not close to being worth $70. Huge ripoff. Would not recommend buying!… Expand

    The campaign is good.
    Warzone is awful.
    And multiplayer is ok. The game also lacks any content and most of the content they label as "new" was already there in MW2019 so its not new your reusing content and labeling it as "new".

But going from middle of the score board one game to bottom of the score board where the top player on the enemy team is getting 50+ kills? That's a problem.     worst game i ever played. bad graphics for a 4k game in 2022. horrible camping simulator gameplay. only good thing was the campaign story writing (not the gameplay itself). 0/10

    Garbage game. Waste of money. First the installation. We paid big money for it, couldn't they come with 2 Blu-ray discs so we wouldn't have to download huge updates just to play the campaign. Every year cod do like that to prevent friend borrow game. Secondly, come on, graphics like the same, at least jump to VR for God sakes

Maps are terrible, ADS time is too slow, at the same time TTK is too fast. There is no dead silence, and there is ghost only at the end of the game, Constant UAV, your steps are so loud, that everyone knows where you are.     1* for graphics, the game is a big fail as mw 2019 or vanguard ! No ninja perk = forced to camp, or get ownd by camper with good headphones, the maps are the same layout as mw 2019... THE WORST MAPS IN THE FRANCHISE ! I will never buy another cod with sbmm, it ruined the game even more !!!

    A new low for the series. There is now a dlc skin that uses profanity towards you if they eliminate your player. Who at Activision thought this was a cool or good idea? Sad.

    4/10: A sequel to another propaganda game.
    To keep up with neoliberal revisionist ideology - this time bad mouths Iran, as if Iran has no reason to be upset, let alone retaliate because the "US EMPIRE" assassinated Qassem Soleimani.

    Campaign: Starts out fairly weak with the assassination of "Soleimani" character by the Imperial colonizers UK + US EMPIRE, then turns into Ghost Recon Wildlands and the Sicario movie and gradually becomes illogical throughout.

    The premise of the missiles being a threat is watered down because they're just normal HIMARS missiles in shipping containers. There isn't anything of massive tension, let alone concern with these missiles.

    Keeping up with revisionist tradition like MW I had, the opening scene with the cruise missile is implied to be hypersonic BUT the US have failed every hypersonic missile test to date. They do not have that technology.

    Characters: You basically play as Gaz and Soap throughout the game. (Rodolfo, Ghost, and Shadow Company are negligible because their characters are never really fleshed out, or are just one time use throwaway missions for plot)

    Supporting cast: Valeria is by far the best character in this entry. Perfectly cast and acted flawlessly.
    Hassan is an okay character initially, he is marred by bad writing, any sense of logic is thrown away and only exists for post-game plot. (i.e: the Al Qatala invasion of Mexico+US)

    Diego is here for a moment and gone the next. (Kind of irrelevant sicario to Valeria)

    Kate Laswell is now a 'lesbian tokenism checklist' character with a awful in-game character model, still is the enemy (CIA), has some actual field work, but doesn't really do all that much.

    Farah is a Xenophobic character that everyone seems to forget she's been designated as a terrorist.

    Nikolai's story/plot/writing claims he's a "Russian patriot"... but he works with the Imperialist enemy & Farah which hates all Russians - a patriot would not do these things.

    Coop has some design flaws - you have to pick a 'kit' (Assault/Medic/Recon) to use before you even matchmake, so you could end up picking the same kit with whoever you get matched with and then you're at a disadvantage, and you are unable to see your team mate's kit, nor able to change it after the match starts.

    Multiplayer is a different can of worms. It does promote movement in most maps (except Crown Raceway and Taraq), but the overall feel is endless running eSport twitch shooter, and devoid of actual "war", most maps are sterile environments that don't have a uniform vision (unlike MW I 2019) and much like the initial concern over how the beta testing periods felt very unpolished, the "full game" is an extension of the beta and is nowhere near finished nor polished enough to warrant a release.

    The game is filled with ungodly bugs up the yin yang, the UI is atrocious and SBMM has suked all the life out of the franchise and is here to stay even if people don't want it.

    Regarding the overall incomplete state of the release - to compare to MW I (2019) that game was miles ahead and felt finished upon release.

    There is still no way to choose a crossplay via peripherals. I still do not want to play against mouse-toting superior aim cheaters regardless of platform. It is not fun to do so.

    This is an embarrassment of a game. I hate the fact that Activision was horrible enough to not include ANYTHING on the disc!! This needs to stop and be called out because it's a total disrespect to the consumer and the medium of video games. I want to own, NOT RENT!!!!

    Let's be honest, there's really no bigger title to compete in the FPS genre at the moment, both in terms of the sometimes mediocre content and this year's very polished graphics. [Issue#324]

    A somewhat droll campaign will greet players of Modern Warfare II. It's a short bombastic romp with some fun gunplay moments and fantastic graphics. The multiplayer, however, is a miss as it is no longer a properly combined entity and the lack of replayability is disappointing. A recommendation for CoD fans but for anyone even slightly on the fence perhaps keep shopping or waiting for a sale.

    CoD MW 2 is a refreshing single-player experience, providing players with some of the best action-packed moments and great characters, but riddled with multiplayer balancing issues and extreme performance and technical problems. It still is CoD and is fun for anyone who finds its casual shooting gameplay compelling, but it plays safely and doesn’t present itself as something revolutionary for the franchise.
