    I haven't had this much fun on a game in a long time. I got the platinum trophy on my ps5. Than on the ps4 edition. And I still want to play again. A nice calm relaxing game, with a great story, amazing for people who want to relax after a days work. I really hope there will be a sequel.

    When you need a break from the more intense games that are out there, Bugsnax is definitely a game to turn to! It's fairly easy going, and a lot of the characters have fun dialogue, most of which poke fun at other characters. It also requires at least a decent amount of brain power to play, as you mess around with physics and try to figure out how to actually catch some of the Bugsnax.

    The game is easy but fun. The mechanic is basic but engaging. What makes this game so special and memorable is the story-telling and top-notch voice acting. The character chemistry is well-written as well. I appreciate the whole journey and look forward to the next game.

Up to try any genre of games and sometimes I find something new that I didn't think I'd like. I own a PC (built by me), Xbox One X, Xbox Series X, PS3, PS4, PS5, and a Switch. I prefer Playstation due to their focus on narrative games. For scoring, I’ll be using the Gameinformer review scale and of course influenced by my personal opinions.

    (8) Very Good. Innovated, but perhaps not in the right choice for everyone. This score indicates that there are many good things to be had, but arguable so.

    An unique take. Definitely feels like a kids game while playing but has adult stuff within the story. The ending has a cool twist that will have you talking to your other friends that played the game. Reminds me of pokemon snap with a lot more gameplay. Good game to try out if you don't have anything else that you are yearning to play at the moment.    … Expand

Merece la absoluta pena.

Las tramas secundarias molan mucho (cosa que me apena porque puedes pasarte el juego sin jugarlas), sobre todo el desarrollo de los personajes y los chismes que hay entre ellos, los diálogos son buenísimos y tiene ciertos easter eggs bastante interesantes.
    · Cosas malas: tiene bastantes aspectos mejorables, técnicamente no es una maravilla y no explota demasiado la PS5.

    Bugsnax is a fun game with its flaws. It's story was... interesting to say the least and overall I had fun. It's pacing was a bit odd. I did love all the Bugsnax. If you liked viva piñata you'll like this.

El objetivo principal es capturar todos los bugsnax de la isla, utilizando diferentes herramientas y el propio entorno para hacerlo. Cada uno tiene su estrategia, y la jugabilidad es realmente buena. Hay que destacar el gran elenco de personajes, y la historia, que tiene un trasfondo muchoBugsnax es una experiencia totalmente diferente y unica, que consigue entretener de forma continua. El objetivo principal es capturar todos los bugsnax de la isla, utilizando diferentes herramientas y el propio entorno para hacerlo. Cada uno tiene su estrategia, y la jugabilidad es realmente buena. Hay que destacar el gran elenco de personajes, y la historia, que tiene un trasfondo mucho mayor de lo que puede aparentar desde un principio. Recomendable totalmente hacer todo al 100% y descubrie los secretos ocultos para ver el final completo, ya que me ha parecido de lo mejor del juego. A nivel técnico no presenta errores ni problemas de rendimiento. Lo mejor, sus personajes e historia, con un final realmente original. Lo peor, algunas de las misiones secundarias y retos pueden hacerse un poco pesadas por el tiempo qie requerirán para completarlas.     This game made me feel like I was a child again. It is so rare nowadays that a game is good enough to get me to keep playing until I reach the ending. I would compare this game to Spongebob. This is because there are many weird jokes that older people would understand, but also keeps the youngins' entertained. Just play the game.

    Truly a hidden gem of early PS5 years. Had this game as a PS+ game, and only after I finally got PS5, Bugsnax was the second game I've played on it, and I loved it so much, that I can't even find the right words to describe how fun it is.

    Love the characters. Love the world. Love the humor. If I could some this game up in one word it would be ADORABLE. Some of the snax can be a pain to catch, but overall I had a nice relaxing time with this game. Im 34 years old with no kids so I might not be the exact target demographic for this game, but even I enjoyed it and I know if you’re a parent with kids they would absolutely loveLove the characters.     Bugsnax ended up being a much more delightful game than I thought it would be. While the premise is a bit silly and the characters are almost too goofy for my tastes, this hybrid Pokemon with puzzle solving game really provided a unique experience that had a very addictive gameplay loop. While it's definitely an indie game and many parts are unrefined, the core experience is a delightfulBugsnax ended up being a much more delightful game than I thought it would be. While the premise is a bit silly and the characters are almost too goofy for my tastes, this hybrid Pokemon with puzzle solving game really provided a unique experience that had a very addictive gameplay loop. While it's definitely an indie game and many parts are unrefined, the core experience is a delightful one and playing in first person was definitely different from any game I've played in this genre. Collecting the different bugs was mostly a lot of fun, but sometimes very frustrating as the game doesn't always tell you what to do or how to do it while picking and choosing when they want to give hints. Other weird game making decisions included having really fun boss fights, but only if you found them through side-quests with none being in the main story. Overall this game is very weird but does have an odd level of charm to it, and right at the end they throw some big plot twists at you that I definitely didn't see coming, making the story value go from one of it's weakest elements to one of it's strongest right at the end.

    In short I enjoyed the time I spent with Bugsnax and am glad I decided to give this game a chance. It's far from perfect and is likely a game I'd never play again, but I believe the studio tried their best to make their vision come to life and did an excellent job with the means they had to do so.     Relaixng and unique, got the Platinum for this in a couple of days because i enjoyed it so much. Very worth picking up for the PS5 if you want a different experience with genuinely excellent characters and much more story than initially meets the eye.

    I couldn't stop smiling when playing this game. How silly and simple the gameplay is while also having unique characters with their own flaws and goals enabled me to feel a connection to them and want to help them.
    The gameplay felt repetitive during the midgame as the formula for quests is the same in that they're basically all fetch quests however the final quests for a character where    I couldn't stop smiling when playing this game.     The story is quite simple, but it keeps some mystery aspects until the very end, and there are some twists to it. It fits really well for a cartoonish game like this.

    Also by saying cartoonish I don't mean that this is necesarily a game for kids. The whole gameplay just feels light-hearted. I've personally completed the whole game with my wife, and we had lots of fun.

    If the story was 5x longer than it is - maybe the gameplay would be a little bit repetitive, But for me it wasn't repetitive at all. In every area, you have to come up with different idea and approaches on how to catch the bugsnax, while the story is constantly progressing.

    Don't expect extreme, hard gameplay from this game. Like I said it is a light-hearted, relaxing game for cozy evenings.
    The graphics are cool, music and voice actors fit really well in the game. Also haptic feedback support is a big plus for me.    … Expand

Not only does Bugsnax not disappoint, it blew my expectations out of the water. This is an amazing game everyone should pick up. Wacky yet engaging puzzle style gameplay that is deeplyMan, what an amazing game. Going in, I expected this to be a great game unironically unlike some of the others who turned it into a meme, mostly since I loved Octodad, a thoroughly underrated indie gem. Not only does Bugsnax not disappoint, it blew my expectations out of the water. This is an amazing game everyone should pick up. Wacky yet engaging puzzle style gameplay that is deeply rewarding meets a (literally) colourful cast of characters, each of which are given care and attention by the devs as you see them develop as people and become better over the course of the game. While not a full 10/10 I still think this game deserved to be nominated for a Game of the Year award; it's something special and yet another hit from the Octodad devs, and was an absolute joy to platinum. I wish I could wipe my memories of this and just replay it; something I haven't felt since I watched Gravity Falls.… Expand

    Well, that was a really enjoyable experience, the game was fun, it kept me entertained and the gameplay was good, it was also free on ps+ and IMO, it's one of the best that sony offered us. The only downside is the lack of manual save and quick travel.

    Part surreal, part heart-warming and part horrific. Bugsnax is one of the strangest games I've ever played. It goes all out on its unique premise and succeeds with flying colours. It's certainly not for everyone, but the brilliant characters and ridiculous world should entertain even the most skeptical of players. It goes right on my list of 'guilty pleasure games'.

    There is not much to hate about Bugsnax, There's nothing that's really offensive about it. It's just a Pokemon-esk game with some good characters and some annoying ones. It's good, I enjoyed it. I will say that this is a good free game (PS Plus), I wouldn't pay 60 bucks for it but it's a damn good game.

    I was going to give this game an 8, but after looking at the price I had to bump it up to a 9. I fully recommend this game. The story was far better and darker than I expected. I was very skeptical when I saw the trailer. The characters, love them or hate them, are all unique and have their own stories. Some Bugsnax felt horrible to try and catch and it felt like you were doing it wrong atI was going to give this game an 8, but after looking at the price I had to bump it up to a 9.     A very fun game with pretty innovative game mechanics like the trap, trip shot and more. I enjoyed all of this gameplay and the platinum, and would recommend. It's on the short side story wise, but still packs a lot of lore and story anyway.

    I really loved the game, some characters talked nonsense in sidequests, but it was in a good way, I loved boss fights, and catching some challenging bugsnax. The atmosphere, the music, the locations were great, totally recommend to play (dualsense effects on ps5 were awesome).

    You come for the bugsnacks and stay for the wonderfully written characters. While the gameplay is serviceable enough, the atmosphere and story heavily carry the game, and that's not a bad thing.

    A must play indie experience.

    Very lovely, fun game, runs at a smooth 60fps in PS5. Took about 15 hours to platinum. Light hearted but interesting story with a dark twist and a good ending. My favorite PS5 game so far, uses the haptic triggers and rumble in a good but not excessive way.

    Bugsnax is a 7 hour long bug catching game where you’re a reporter in search of Elizabert Megafin, and with the help of the inhabitants of this bugsnax filled island, you’ll gain clues on her whereabouts, but you must earn this clues, and the interviews to get these clues, and you do this by... you guessed it.. Catching bug snacks.. bugsnacks as the name suggests are half bugs half snacks, and once you eat them you can choose a limb that these bugs become… each character will have you running around their areas collecting different snax and feeding them to them, which is a puzzle within itself, you’ll have to bait some out, trick them into fighting each other, trip them out of the sky, it really is fun trying to figure out just how to catch the snack you’re after.. Though bugsnax doesn’t quite have the magic a game like pokemon has, I never felt the urge beyond the first couple of hours to go out and catch them all... really only capturing the ones I needed to progress the story, and usually im a sucker for collect them all type games, but im just not wure what it was, weather its due to the fact this is simply a ftch quest game or that the areas youre running around are all bare bones and not fun or intriguing to explore, you get that feeling of, eh if I need this one ill come back and get it later,rather than feeling like you found a collectable that you need to grab right this moment… which a game like this should feel… scanning these creatures in the wild will give you hints on how to catch them, and some need caught later on after you aquire a new catching aid from the story…. But bugsnax overall is a really cute and charming game, it is enjoyable from start to finish, even if it doesn’t urge you to do much outside of mainlining… This is a hidden gem definitely worth your time, especially for those into collecting games… you’ll still have fun trying to collect them all until you’re over it…

    -Hardly any glitches to note, nothing major, some minor things, but the game would usually quickly correct itself.

    -The bugsnax themselves all look great and have their own interesting patterns and routines with only a few being clones of each other.
    The Bad:

    -Catching certain types of bugsnax can be a bit janky, but there's workarounds.

    Bugsnax is overall great. It's simple, fun, and was a nice addition to ps plus with the PS5. I'd definitely recommend playing it through to the end, and even completing all the achievements, it might not be a super big groundbreaking video game, but it is still a helluva great time.    … Expand

    I did not have high expectations for Bugsnax but ended up liking it very much. It is a silly story-driven creature-collector with great characters and voice acting. The story is good in my opinion, manages to keep most of its mystery until the very end.

    Bugsnax was absolutely amazing. Great LGBT representation, which is much needed in children's games (reminding parents and children that hetero ever after isn't the only option).     After the trailer, I thought that I would never purchase that game, but as it was in PS Plus, and apart of Astro's Playroom I didn't have any truly PS5 games, I downloaded Bugsnax.

    Now I can tell I was wrong. Bugsnax is a fun, interesting game. I did platinum trophy in it - and the only disadvantage I found, is that I found the game to be short - I want more!

It is incredibly engaging, surprisingly funny, and has a way of making you grow interpersonal relationships with the characters that by the end of the game you wish the game wasn’t ending.     Bugsnax is a consistently enjoyable game from start to finish. It's core gameplay loop is very good but more than anything, you'll be returning to SnagTooth for the excellently written and acted characters. It's not a game for everybody and the gameplay loop can become tiring, but overall it's a great game and has a satisfying conclusion that makes the journey worth it.

    My only criticism to this game is the missleading marketing showing screens of the early beta, before Kojima and FromSoftware were engaged in this artwork. If the game would be better advertised, it would sell better than Minecraft!

It's this dichotomy which shapes the entire experience, which deals in the complexities of the endless cycle of life and death. Bugsnax clearly draws strong thematic elements from other narrative-driven games like Bioshock and Hardcore Henry to craft its many wonders.

    Graphically, the game is a powerhouse. It literally has the most graphics out of every other game out there with graphics, which is to say a lot of games. My jaw hit the floor the moment I saw this game's opening until the moment I stopped playing. It was literally on the floor for so long that a dust bunny crawled into the back of my mouth and I experienced several minutes of coughing and had to pause the game to drink water. Only Bugsnax has ever provided this level of enhanced sensation from a video game. The immersion almost killed me. Incredible.

    Bugsnax, like Skyrim and Shaq-Fu before it, sucks you into its immersive world and doesn't let go. I remember starting Skyrim during the day and exiting long after the sun goes down with me not even feeling time passing. This game goes even further. Thanks to the PS5's processing capabilities which utilize Gatorade Nitrocide liquid quantum programing, I played Bugsnax for what felt like an hour, but the experience lasted for several years. I'm actually typing this review from 2023 aboard the SONY space colony, which is powered exclusively by thousands of copies of Bugsnax running on the PS5. This technology was deemed too powerful by all Earth governments to use on the planet's surface so it needed to be brought to space in order to remain legal under international law. Incredible.

    Bugsnax rewards the player by really making them FEEL like Batman. The bond you share with your Bugsnax friends in the game is akin to the Persona and Telltale franchises and mixes it with the creativity of Minecraft. You are free to bind with your Bugsnax compatriots as much as you like and I actually got emotional during a few of the sequences. The power of the PS5 trains your brain to view the Bugsnax with the same neurons that you view your own children with. I suffered horrible post-partum depression after shutting the game off due to the realization that my Bugsnax children would never be real. And I'm a man, so I shouldn't even know what that feels like. I may require serious therapy because of the immersion Bugsnax provides. Incredible.

    In conclusion, Bugsnax isn't so much of a game as it is a way of life. Sony have outdone themselves with both the PS5 and Bugsnax in a way that unfortunately spells the doom of the video game industry. Since there's never been a game as good at Bugsnax, nor will another game ever top it in the future, there will be literally no reason for anyone to not buy a PS5 and simply play Bugsnax until the day they die, which is, in a word, incredible.    … Expand

    Like many PS5 buyers, I picked up Bugsnax for "free" with PS+ and it is one of my only true PS5 games. Other than short load times, I can also see this game as very playable on the PS4 or phones and tablets if Sony allows it. The concept is very familiar but also quite new. You catch Bugsnax but not in through and forget Pokeball or by sniping them from cover. The game gives you tools that work as a type of physics puzzle with no fixed solution. Sometimes the Bugsnax will knock each other out on their own and you can walk by and catch them. I love the open ended feel to the game mechanic. Except for a few instances, you can play your own way. While you are out in the wilderness, you can hear the Bugsnax call out with their names, like Pokemon, and the overall result is hilarious if you take a moment to enjoy it.

    The quests and side quests involve the odd Grumpuses. Unlike a human, a Grumpus has an enormous mouth hole and they toss the food straight into it. Feeding Grumpuses serves the purposes of missions but also fun. Their body parts will convert into Bugsnax and you can feed them however you want to transform them to your devious desires. This reminded me of the exploits in Skyrim that let you use the pickpocket skill to change an NPCs clothing. The character development and story progression are better than a game about Bugsnax might deserve.

    Just a side note for the SJW crowd: the Grumpus's on Snacktooth Island left the mainland because they felt marginalized by society. Marginalized Grumpuses may very well be different from you. This does not mean any agenda has been forced on you.

    Bugxsax is my 11th Platinum in a little of 6 years on PlayStation. This isn't because the Platinum is attainable. It is because I genuinely enjoyed the game. I hope Young Horses makes a sequel. I hope the sequel is just as simple and as charming as the original. I enjoy games that end. I enjoy one-off experiences. I enjoy smaller, cheaper games with new experiences.     Bugsnax makes you feel like a delicious snack. It's a game I could not put down because the combat is so good. The world is fun to explore and the stories it has to tell are rich and compelling. And I’m already anxiously awaiting a sequel. Definitely the best souls-like game on the market.

    A perfectly portioned final course. Just as witty as everything that came before, with plenty more to chew on. Sometimes bigger really is just better. [Issue#15, p.82]

    It’s just a shame that the core gameplay here is so dull. Everything else in Bugsnax would make it a strong GOTY contender, but the sheer repetitiveness of the game’s main task drags it all down. Still, given how high the rest of the game flies, there’s only so far down it can go — and as it stands, that still means you’re left with one heck of a game.

    Bugsnax leans heavily on the unique nature of its titular creatures, and it succeeds by doing so. They’re cute, they’re creepy, and their existence makes no logical sense whatsoever. Armed with a bit of design this indelible, the developers could have phoned in the rest and raked in the merchandising money. Instead, they fully committed to delivering a narrative worthy of the creatures starring in it. It was a risky choice, but it was also a daring and clever one, and that’s exactly what it wants to be.
