While its story could be fresher, the multiplayer suite is awesome and will be played by millions across the rest of this year and next for far too many hours. War gaming is rarely this wild and fun.

Battlefield 6 is a giant leap forward for the franchise, returning it to the peak of online first-person shooters.

Battlefield 6 brings the series back to its roots — large-scale chaos done right. The campaign feels like a classic shooter: fast, cinematic, but narratively shallow. Yet the multiplayer steals the show. Maps are dense with action, the class system is back, and the gunplay feels phenomenal. The new battle royale and Portal modes are fine but forgettable — the real thrill lies in those massive, coordinated battles where everything explodes at once. It’s not a revolution, but a confident reminder of why Battlefield once defined the genre.

Battlefield 6 marks a triumphant comeback for DICE. A stunning blend of large-scale warfare, explosive destructibility, and teamwork-driven chaos. Visually breathtaking, technically sharp, and the best Battlefield in years.

Battlefield 6 marks the triumphant return of the series with a solid campaign, spectacular multiplayer, and the leadership of Vince Zampella, who brings back the game's tactical and cooperative essence.

Battlefield 6 feels like a return to form for the series, blending chaotic, fast-paced battles with moments of real tactical depth. The maps are fun but often smaller than expected, pushing a faster, more aggressive style of play. Vehicles feel satisfying, each class has a clear role, and the new tactical hammer adds creative ways to interact with the environment. Portal mode is a joy, letting you remix old favorites and craft your own mayhem. Despite some balance quirks, it’s an energetic, highly enjoyable shooter — and I can’t wait to see how the game evolves in the future.

The best way to describe the new Battlefield 6 is to say: wow. The weapons feel great, the maps look great, the sound draws you in, and despite a forgettable campaign, the multiplayer modes, both classic and new, and the player-created game modes in Portal, are what really matter. If you're still on the fence about the new game in the series, let me say: now is your time to run and play. See you on the battlefield.

Battlefield 6 marks a triumphant return for the franchise, delivering an experience that not only honors the roots of the FPS genre but also pushes it forward in meaningful ways. With its immersive combat, stunning maps, satisfying gameplay, and a healthy balance between authenticity and fun, it feels like the fresh start fans have been waiting for. Despite a few minor bugs and an underwhelming Campaign, it stands as a content-rich shooter that caters to a wide range of playstyles. More than just a great game, Battlefield 6 feels like a much-needed course correction for the genre, and a clear message to its competitors: the Multiplayer bar has just been raised.

Battlefield 6 marks a great return to the formula that originally established the franchise as one of the top choices in the genre. It doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel, nor does it need to. Gunplay, movement, and sound design all earn top marks, delivering battles that feel chaotic yet grounded, exactly what’s needed to set it apart from its main competitor.

An excellent return to form for the series, Battlefield 6 is a military shooter that perfectly balances being 'fun' while basing it in 'reality'. While the campaign narrative lacks real depth, it's an explosive joyride that's ripe for a sequel. It's the multiplayer that will keep players coming back however, setting players loose in an explosive playground and letting them shoot out their own stories of the front lines. This is an easy recommendation, and a strong contender for 'Shooter of the Year 2025'.

Battlefield 6 represents a clear effort to win back fans and restore the franchise’s prestige. The result is a stable, classic experience that delivers the best of the genre, even if it doesn’t break new ground. Battlefield is truly back.

Battlefield 6 is the revival the franchise desperately needed, blending nostalgia with modern polish to deliver its best multiplayer in years. With a strong launch and more content on the way, it feels like Battlefield is finally back where it belongs.

Battlefield is back! With an exciting scenario, excellent multiplayer and an entertaining campaign, Battlefield 6 impresses across the board in our preliminary test. Minor weaknesses and shortcomings do little to detract from the overall experience. Now all that's left is for the servers to hold up and for EA/DICE to continuously maintain and balance the game with an ear to the community. Then nothing will stand in the way of an excellent multiplayer title that even Call of Duty has to fear.

Battlefield 6 is Battlefield at its best. The game looks impressive and the audio is, as we’ve come to expect from DICE, absolutely top-tier. But this time, the rest of the package is just as strong. With the return of traditional classes, crisp hit registration and a wide arsenal of weapons, there’s a solid foundation in place to keep Battlefield relevant for months, and maybe even years, to come. The single-player campaign also deserves praise: it doesn’t feel like a box-ticking exercise, but like a meaningful addition. Battlefield 6 once again bursts with the spectacle that made the series famous, even if the amount of content at launch could have been a bit more substantial.
  15. 90
Battlefield 6 is one of the PlayStation 5’s best shooters. Featuring a replayable and rewarding campaign, plus some of the most satisfying multiplayer that players have come to expect, this is the full package. This is a game I can’t wait to continue playing for years, and I can’t wait to see how it evolves and how the Portal helps mold the future of the series.

Battlefield 6 had the weight of a franchise on its shoulders after the misstep that was 2042, a burden that only intensified with the promise of a return to the days of Battlefield 3 and 4. Stepping back into and refining the class system has reignited the squad-based fire that Battlefield is known for. At the same time, advancements to gunplay and player movement have resulted in some of the most satisfying moment-to-moment gameplay you can find in the first-person shooter genre. A serviceable campaign/tutorial, some fantastic maps, and a new mode that could unseat Conquest mark an incredible start for what should be a long-running title. Battlefield 6 is more than a return to form; it’s one of the best entries in the franchise.

Battlefield 6 is a true return to the franchise’s roots, evoking that same “wow” feeling Battlefield 4 gave us when we first saw a skyscraper collapse — but this time, on a much larger scale. The game truly focuses on the franchise’s strongest points while also delivering a solid campaign and a story that leaves fans wanting more. In short: Battlefield is back, ladies and gentlemen.

Battlefield 6 brings back the chaos and charm fans love, with slick maps, satisfying destruction, and a strong multiplayer core. Not everything hits perfectly, but with patches and Portal support, there’s plenty to look forward to. A true return to form.

The series comes roaring back to life thanks to its strong, community-oriented approach, with only a slightly weaker single-player campaign holding the overall package back. In the end, though, Battlefield has truly returned.

Battlefield 6 marks a triumphant return for the franchise, reviving large-scale destruction, tight teamplay, and intense firefights. The campaign serves as a cinematic tutorial but lacks emotional weight. Multiplayer is where the game shines, featuring well-designed maps, a balanced class system, and top-tier gunplay. With strong performance, impressive visuals, and a promising live-service roadmap, Battlefield 6 stands as the best entry in the series since BF4.

Battlefield 6 marks the return of one of the greatest multiplayer franchises to its glory days. With one of the best sound designs in the series, a competent destruction system, extensive customization options, and varied maps, the game delivers intense matches and immersive gameplay. The single-player campaign and some design choices may not please everyone, but they do not compromise the overall quality of this excellent title.

For a good war shooter to be truly exceptional, it needs to be fun but also have a great setting and atmosphere to create that authentic war feeling. Battlefield 6 achieves both, making it possibly the best war FPS of the decade and promising endless fun for its players in the coming months — or perhaps even years.

Without resorting to pretension, Battlefield 6 delivers a solid gameplay experience, providing players with a variety of multiplayer modes that offer high entertainment value. The campaign successfully combines a compelling story with a comprehensive introduction to everything the game has to offer. While it is not a perfect experience, the game certainly prioritizes delivering extensive enjoyment.

With Battlefield 6 the shooter has returned to the glory days of the franchise. With excellent gameplay, spectacular multiplayer and limitless possibilities in the improved Portal mode, Battlefield Studios has delivered on all promises made. The singleplayer campaign is a bit lackluster, but it doesn't detract much from this exceptional shooter.

Battlefield 6 marks a true return to form for the series. Battlefield Studios successfully blends classic large-scale warfare with modern refinements, delivering intense battles, impressive visuals, and a satisfying sense of chaos. While the campaign is short and the weapon balance still needs fine-tuning, the foundation for a lasting comeback is solid. Not flawless, but definitely the "Battlefield"-experience fans have been waiting for.

Playing Battlefield 6, I was transported back to a time when I enjoyed online multiplayer. I hopped off the competitive shooter train a while ago, trading my regular Call of Duty sessions in for sports and racing titles. However, in the last couple of weeks, I’ve spent all my free time here, and as dangerous as this might be to a full-time student with a demanding full-time job, the quality of that time spent rests heavily on the fact that I’m going to stick with it after my review is complete. While the campaign might be little more than a glorified tutorial, this remains a war worth fighting.

Battlefield 6 has an expert grasp on what makes the series’ beloved multiplayer so treasured by players. Those scarce few who come to this title for the campaign alone will be left deserted in the wake of a quick, passable single-player experience that is meant to be digested before the full course. The all-out-war across fantastic maps and an emphasis on class play where players turn the battlefield into rubble is instantly memorable, providing a worthy follow-up to players’ best memories of Battlefield.

Battlefield 6 is a highly recommended experience for both veterans who yearn for the days of Bad Company 2 or Battlefield 3, and for those who want to venture into the shooter genre with a tactical, spectacular and accessible proposal.

Battlefield 6 is a spectacle with jaw dropping visuals and sublime audio, while delivering their best multiplayer offering in many years. However, despite it being predominantly a multiplayer experience, its campaign plays it far too safe, and feels all too familiar.

Battlefield 6 is the comeback that fans of the series were waiting for: a campaign that's little more than adequate, but a thrilling, tactical, and spectacular multiplayer experience, although still needing a few final touches.

We would have appreciated a more refined campaign in many ways, but that still doesn't overshadow the exceptional work done by the collective known as Battlefield Studios on the multiplayer front. Battlefield 6 is one of the most entertaining shooters of recent years and marks the return of the franchise in style. The class system, destructible environments, and wide range of maps and modes provide an extraordinary foundation for what's to come, considering that the plans for post-launch support are already well-defined and suggest the developers' desire to keep players engaged over time. Now all that's left is to get our hands on the highly anticipated Portal and learn more about the much-discussed Battle Royale mode, which we hope will arrive soon to make the offering even richer and more varied.

Battlefield 6 truly marks a strong comeback for the series. It's an episode that's certainly nostalgic in its approach but which refines its formula in a rather impressive way, notably thanks to gameplay and graphics that are simply marvelous (especially in multiplayer). Playing this opus proved to be a gripping and addictive experience, even if we were a little disappointed by the single player. To be honest, after this test, we can't wait to return to the battlefield. And that says it all, right?

After a Battlefield 2042 that left many players disappointed, Electronic Arts did what was needed to make amends. The result is a Battlefield 6 of remarkable quality, whether in its single-player campaign or its multiplayer experience. EA’s military FPS finally regains its identity, with the return of the saga’s iconic classes, massive battles, partially destructible environments that are downright satisfying and strategically meaningful, and that constant sense of intense warfare. Sure, the single-player campaign may be less scripted and explosive than a Call of Duty in terms of narrative, but Battlefield 6 excels in pure gameplay, freedom, and the feeling of total war. The Frostbite engine delivers a visual punch, maps are cleverly designed, gunplay is satisfying, and the in-hand feel of the controls is incredible. Of course, it’s not perfect: the French voice-over is uneven and mandatory (as there’s no original English option unless you change your console’s language), and some script, collision, and animation bugs still linger here and there. But compared to a Call of Duty that has started to feel a bit repetitive, Battlefield returns stronger, more intense, and more coherent than ever. You can feel the passion and dedication behind Battlefield 6, along with a genuine desire to win back the hearts of disappointed fans. As for us, we came away completely convinced.

Battlefield 6 delivers what the series does best: tight gunplay, immersive destruction, varied multiplayer modes, and outstanding audio design that raises the bar. The campaign offers variety through its class system but is short, narratively uneven, and ends without the closure it promises. Visual presentation could be sharper, and technical issues such as AI inconsistencies and occasional bugs break immersion. Still, with robust multiplayer and the franchise’s trademark scale, it remains a strong entry that shines most online.

Battlefield 6 is an incredibly strong return to form for the series, with a multiplayer experience that is finely tuned with huge potential for what it could build into, destruction mechanics that bring a level of immersion back to the series that it was missing, and a more than solid visual and sound design package tying up how endlessly fun it is to play. The single-player campaign fails to impress, but the multiplayer experience more than makes up for it.

Battlefield 6 delivers a standout multiplayer experience for EA’s iconic franchise. Classic and new modes offer thrilling battles, while tactical gadgets define class roles and strategy. Destructible environments are spectacular, movement feels controlled, and the campaign supports gameplay practice. Portal will arrive shortly after launch, adding even more creative multiplayer possibilities.

Battlefield 6 overall is a good comeback. The multiplayer side reminds us of the good old days, besides its missing a few elements from the big ones, like levolution. Beyond that, the campaign feels a barebones experience.

    83
Battlefield 6 manages to save the series by bringing back a multiplayer mode reminiscent of the best instalments. However, there is still work to be done. Some features are missing and the campaign is greatly underutilised. Fortunately, the foundations are solid for Portal and future seasons to round off a game with a promising future.
  41. Oct 14, 2025
    82
Battlefield 6 is an improvement over its predecessor in many ways. The single player campaign has some impressive visuals, but the gameplay and story leaves much to be desired. The multiplayer is where Battlefield 6 shines, and should keep players engaged for the foreseeable future. I do wish the devs would have given us a console-only crossplay so Xbox and PlayStation gamers could game together. All in all, I imagine I’ll be jumping into Battlefield 6 for more often than I did Battlefield 2042. Granted, that wouldn’t take much. Battlefield 6 is a step in the right direction. But for future single player campaigns, maybe consider bringing back Battlefield: Hardline or Battlefield: Bad Company.
  42. 80
If you’re here for single-player storytelling, look elsewhere. Battlefield 6’s campaign is a soulless tour through beautiful wreckage. But if you crave the franchise’s signature chaos, the thunder of artillery, the synchronized madness of squads, the sheer cinematic energy of modern warfare, this is Battlefield. The refined gunplay, the expanded mode variety, and the potential of Portal make it a great comeback in the franchise.

Battlefield 6 returns to the heart of the series - from its raw, fast-paced, and minimalist single-player action to chaotic, tactically demanding multiplayer, where teamwork perfectly recaptures the classic feeling of war on screen.

Battlefield 6 doesn’t introduce any major innovations to the series as a whole, but it successfully brings together everything that has made it stand out — from thrilling story missions to a multiplayer mode that never gets old, thanks to its variety of modes, expertly designed maps, and a destruction system with movie-like explosions. The result is a strong and highly welcome return for fans of war shooters, whether or not they’ve followed the series before.

Battlefield 6 is a phenomenal multiplayer experience that immerses and impresses with its chaotic mix of tight gunplay, best-in-class audio design, and the cinematic flair that made us love the series in the first place. The campaign isn’t anything to write home about, and Portal has yet to fully prove its worth, but they act as additions to what is easily the best Battlefield in over a decade.
  46. Oct 14, 2025

Battlefield 6 completed the main objective: make a great multiplayer suite. But it failed the side objective: make a great singeplayer campaign. Still, Battlefield players are here for one thing. I know it, you know it, Battlefield Studios knows it – we all know it. And there’s no denying that they’ve nailed the most important part.
  47. Oct 13, 2025
    80
Battlefield 6 isn’t the most exciting or innovative entry in the series so far, but it still delivers one of the strongest multiplayer offerings yet. Well-designed maps and the returning class system elevate matches, which especially shine in the new Escalation mode. It’s just a shame that the quality of the online play does not extend to the single-player campaign.

For the most part, Battlefield 6 is a brilliant return to form, a thrilling, almost operatic shooter experience, which manages to combine deafening combat with tactical subtlety. How it will fit into the modern landscape of hero shooters and battle royale blast-em-ups is anyone’s guess – it deserves a shot, that’s for sure.

Battlefield is back. While the single-player campaign of Battlefield 6 has its moments, it's pretty mediocre on the whole. Thankfully the game's extensive multiplayer offerings make up for it. The action here is fast-paced and wonderfully intense, making each match rewarding whether you win or lose. Some maps could do with some tweaks, but other than that there's not much to complain about.

EA's well-known shooter franchise is back, and it's back in a big way. Battlefield 6 is pure addiction, everything players have been waiting for over the years. Battlefield 6 is exactly what the fans wanted, and what this game needed to be. The single player is fine, if largely tertiary, but the multiplayer shines. Extremely fun to play, rewarding and full of excellent maps and modes, this is the Battlefield multiplayer suite that will be bring those lost by 2042 back into the fold.

Overall, it’s the multiplayer that remains as Battlefield 6’s greatest strength, as it always has for this series. Well-designed maps and strong teamplay features make for interesting online rounds. This bleeds out into other aspects of the game; the gunplay, the weapon customisation, and the destruction mechanics. It’s punchy, direct, and exciting. It all feels carefully tuned to how players have wanted the game to be like since the golden era of the series.

After years spent circling the drain, Battlefield 6 gets the series back on track. The mission statement was clear as EA delivers classic, class-based multiplayer, a thrilling yet brief singleplayer campaign, and a creative toolset bound to drive countless hours of fun in community-made experiences. We finally remembered how to make a proper Battlefield.

Battlefield 6 offers a carefully-crafted and layered multiplayer that strives to be its least threatening self, with innovation and creativity played down in favor of refining all the proven successes from the military genre. Battlefield 6 means a bit of a return to basics. The code word for its predecessor, Battlefield 2042, was ‘big’, but the latest installment is more intimate—as far as that's possible in a world war. Whereas Battlefield 2042 was solely a multiplayer game with no fewer than 128 players at a time, Battlefield 6 usually has 64 players competing against each other in the many different modes. The campaign also makes a comeback. This high-stakes power struggle plays out like a blockbuster movie, complete with explosions, cliffhangers, and a rousing soundtrack that amplifies the epic battle of your elite unit. We still have to wait a little over a month for the latest Call of Duty, but as far as we're concerned, Battlefield 6 currently has more than a few advantages.

Battlefield 6 rides the wave of FPS gaming at the most opportune moment, thanks to the decline of the Call of Duty series, with a masterfully crafted core experience capable of reviving the franchise after years in the shadows. The disappointing and completely forgettable campaign weakens the game, but it is sustained by the foundations of the brilliant and concise multiplayer mode that offers one of the best experiences in the franchise.

Battlefield 6 marks a strong comeback for the shooter series, and its weak campaign can only slightly dampen the excitement. [Review in Progress]
  3. Oct 9, 2025
At nine missions and just five hours, Battlefield 6’s campaign’s flame doesn’t burn for long, and it doesn’t burn particularly bright in that time, either. It’s a staggering spectacle to behold at times, and a treat for the ears at others, but when it comes to mission design and an engaging plot, it fails to deliver at all. A quick afternoon of fun, it's a safe reimagining of what Battlefield once was, but far from a bold reinvention of what it could, and maybe should, be now. [Campaign review score = 50]
