    I struggle with turn based games, I just don't have the mind that can think three moves ahead. But at the same time, I love these types of game. Because more often than not, there is a good story to be had beyond the general gameplay. Baldur's Gate 3 straight for the start had me hooked, great opening to a game.     I feel a little out of my depth, with some of the DnD aspects having never played. But I think the game does a good job of making it accessible to people like me, and peaks an interest that I didn't know was there. The world building here is fantastic with some quite adult themes, that surprised me a little as more often than not in games these days we shy away from things.

    Holding my own in combat, which surprised me. Found the odd encounter difficult, but went away levelled up a bit and went back to fare better. I think, not to view every encounter as a fight, is probably a good way to go. You can avoid things, with a bit of charm, charisma or just arrogance. And be wary of your environments. There is so much you can use to your advantage or enemies can likewise use that might not be initially apparent.

    Finally, a game that has met and even exceeded my expectations, I was beginning to think it was never possible to experience that again. But hats off to Larian they have delivered with this game. And even if these types of games are not your bag, the RPG elements are worth it in themselves. Fantastic game with loads of replay value.    … Expand

    I've never been an RPG fan, much less a turn based combat person, but this game rocks!

    It's extremely addictive, even though it's slow paced. Cross save function works flawlessly if you wait for the sync to finish before closing the game (I lost a small amount of progress switching between Steam and PS5 when I didn't wait)... The cross save is wild. It means I can bring it with me on    I've never been an RPG fan, much less a turn based combat person, but this game rocks!

    Отличная игра. Очень вариативная, много возможностей для отыгрыша. Графика шагнула на вперед на порядок. Конечно можно было бы сделать что бы ноги не проходили сквозь плащ ,но это не повод занижать оценку.

    What a game. This is what should be the benchmark when calling something game of the generation. I’ve never played a game where I’ve had as much fun and gave a sense of adventure like this. Split screen has its issues but it’s things that can be patched and Larian is working hard to provide said patches having already made 2 hotfixes in the span on 4 days. A complete game, with no micro-transactions, no FOMO mechanics, no battle pass, Bauldr's Gate 3 stands on its own two legs without the need for manipulative corporate addiction tactics to keep a player base. Ignore the toxic negative review bombing, check their profiles they will have given ZeldaThis is one of those rare games that actually deserve a 10/10, we haven't seen one in awhile.     I have already played well over 280 hours on PC and 48 hours on PS5, across 4 different playthroughs (some incomplete) and loved every second of it. I play DnD 5e regularly, and this is the closest thing in the video game world to simulating what it's like. The voice acting and facial expressions are outstanding, the story is captivating. The world design is stunning, the combat is so fun and feels exactly like DnD 5e with a few quality of life changes, I'm so glad they made it turn-based unlike the previous two Bauldr's Gates. You just can't have DnD without turn base combat, it doesn't work! This is by far the best Bauldr's Gate so far and definitely the best CRPG I have ever played. Act 3 could do with a touch up, but knowing Larian, they will go above and beyond to polish any shortcomings, which is why it won't affect my rating.

    Pay no heed to most of the negative reviews, other than the few disappointed by the current endings of act 3 (which still doesn't warrant giving it a negative rating at all). The other negative reviews are just toxic review bombers who are either insane homophobes, bots, DnD hater's or just people who want their pet video game (probably Zelda/Starfield players) to win GOTY. These degenerates are trying their hardest to bring down the score and defame this absolute gem of a game. Report them.

    Well done Larian, you successfully achieved what you set out to do, polish act 3, fix more of the epilogues and you have made one of the best video games in history! Pay attention gaming industry, be like Larian.    … Expand

    Baldur's Gate 3 is not the same as the other 2 entries of the series. It has none of the Black Isle design or logic. This is a solid Larian studios that, using the Forgotten Realms campaign setting and the lore that has been developed for it for over 40 years, create a good, immersive game. The plot is engaging and there are so many thing to do sidequest wise that you feel like the worldBaldur's Gate 3 is not the same as the other 2 entries of the series.     Which leads to the negatives... There are areas and characters that have suffered even though there was a huge development cycle (looking at you Karlach!), with some side quest endings feeling rushed and not as good as one would have hoped. There are no bags of holding (HERESY!) and there are times where the engine stutters and you miss cinematic moves during a dialogue. And apparently everyone in the realms is thirsty and gender is a suggestion!

    All in all, a really good, solid Larian game. If you like CRPGs or RPGs in general you should at the very least try it.    … Expand

    I was about to give a 9 for the reasons I explain below, but I see so many irrationally low scores "because it is turn based".

    So overall, GOTY, game of the decade, possibly the best crafted game I have ever played. Also a great port, I hope this controller interface becomes a new standard for CRPGs in consoles.     So I can't add much to that. I can tell my issues with the game:

    -Companions are too horny. Some shouldn't be romanceable. I miss good "comradeship" type of relationship with them. Like just hitting a tavern or something.
    -No dynamic weather system, or at least not a very cool set of weather effects. Weather gives so much to the ambience of games. They should really have this.
    -Same with day and night cycle. I understand that you camp in the night, but I would very much enjoy exploring the same places in the night.
    -Buggy jump AI. (Oftentimes companions don't follow you jumping, you have to do it manually for everyone, which on console is a bit tedious sometimes.

    I think that's it.

    Amazing Crpg !

    The game is very smooth with the controller, saves are fast Next, full of abilities, which is not confusing at all because it is designed for the console The gameplay can be called more of a strategy than turn base . choosing the dialogue has a meaning. With the dice that are lucky, you feel like you have entered a wonderful fantasy story book that you create yourself.

The graphics are beautiful and stunning, the dialogue is top-notch and well acted. The thing is you have the option to turn that off and revert to real-time with pause; they haven’t removed it, it’s just that users have decided they prefer turn-based. Personally, I love this new style of combat. As for issues with Act 3, we’ll I’m not there yet so can’t comment except to say, I’m certain the developers will work incredibly hard to remedy these and are likely to be PS5 related issues. We have five separate play-throughs in our house (2 on PC) and we’re ALL experiencing different stories. It’s lovingly crafted with attention to detail that satisfies even this 2nd ed.     36 hours in and i am totally hooked, so many different options with twist and turns that can be decided by a roll of dice. + Great writing
    + Refreshing
    + Hours upon hours of content

    - Might not be a game for everyone since it can be a steep learning curve.

    The Goat, I have played games since 1990, and this is my first comment on games, I give 10 of 10 for baldur's gate 3, massive stories and choices and open ending drive me exciting and unforgettable, 2023 is an amazing year in game history, Zelda has already made a great job but compared with BG3, I prefer giving a little bit higher rating to BG3.

    There's so much this game does right, but my favorite detail is the hand-drawn grid maps for every location. It's a love letter to tabletop and I have yet to see any reviewer mention it. This game breathes excellence and will inspire a generation of new game developers to meet the standards this game set.

    Recomiendo el modo Calidad; se ve muy bien, fluido y la paleta de colores se ve muy natural
    En el modo Rendimiento s e ve un poco difuminado; pero se ciente mas fluidez

    I could call it the best RPG ever made! From the lore of Dungeons and Dragons. You could expect a lot of story and lore much more any game could provide you. While the gameplay create by Larian Studios is a masterpiece. It's not like any other typical turn-based RPG but you have to be tactician as well and that gives us more of the excitement than any other turn-based RPG. The story has aI could call it the best RPG ever made! From the lore of Dungeons and Dragons. You could expect a lot of story and lore much more any game could provide you. While the gameplay create by Larian Studios is a masterpiece. It's not like any other typical turn-based RPG but you have to be tactician as well and that gives us more of the excitement than any other turn-based RPG. The story has a lot of freedom for you to adventure forth. You can play 10-20 playthrough without experience the same route and each playthrough can take up to 80-100 hours. This game is enormous.

    Currently playing this with my girlfriend on split screen, and we are loving it.
    Who would of tought girls could be so cut throat, she made hard decisions on the fly, that would of take me some minutes to think over.... some of her gaming style choices still keep me up at night...

Everything that I wanted in a rpg is packed in Baldur's Gate 3..story, written with absolute love. Each choices is has a meaning and impacts the story as well. From the start it took me literally 1 hour in character creation to read each class and spells and make my character to how I want to roleplay. Characters are heavily voiced acted and my word npcs have voices and most all have unique things to say. Never thought a game like this would have me stay up late especially work days. I called out 3 days straight because this game has hooked me since early access for PS5. The music is absolutely a Grammy winner here, even the creation customization has epic and smooth music it never re-loops. The imagination runs wild on this game..I blocked the door way with chests when you face the first boss in the prologue so the boss doesn't bring his minions the boss was easy and stole the boss's weapon and take it for my own.

    It does have technical issues yes but they are minor and easily can be patch out. My score is a 10! A Masterpiece that defines to what an rpg should be.    … Expand

I’ve put in hundreds of hours in the game and each new playthrough can be played differently depending on your class, stats and moral alignment resulting on multiple endings. This is a game that you can definitely play for years to come either solo, couch co-op or online multiplayer.

    Don’t believe on naysayers as they are either review bombing the game in support of other developers who doesn’t want to craft a masterpiece game and or liars with nothing better to do. This is easily a 95/100.    … Expand

    For those who played the previous games and always loved rpg, BG3 is wonderful, graphically beautiful, the wonderful dnd system and the possibilities with classes, engaging story, exploration and side quests in a fantasy world.

    Great game, i’ve had about 30 hours play time so far. Ignore the xbox trolls mad about star field and coming to review bomb the game. This game is an experience you won’t forget. This game runs pretty well, haven’t noticed crazy frame drops.

    Hands down best RPG you could play. I bought it both on PC and on PS5. The mechanics work almost flawlessly on controller it has some slight jack, but it hasn't taken away from my immersive experience. For my PS5 playthrough I decided to play as a half elf bard and conman. It's been quite the fun experience bringing this character to life and tackling situations as he would have in my mind. The story and characters are extremely compelling and the maps are massive. Reactivity is at an all time high. Combat is some of the best I've played and this is coming from someone who usually hates turn based Combat. This system won me over though for building my party effectively paying attention to the environment, and strategizing on using it with my abilities to the fullest. It feels like a loving breathing world and it's refreshing to have a game where I'm not special I'm just a dude with a worm in my head with other people with the same issue.     Best game of the last 10 years at least. Maybe ever. The only reason to not play the game: you're not into turn-based combat, cause then you might have the feeling of it being too slow-paced.

    i can't believe this game . i never played crpg and never intended to - but suggested hundred times from others to play this one . and boy im glaaaad i did . no game ever gonna surpass the choices u have and the thrills you get when playing this one - don't hesitate , try it for yourself

    It doesn't fall short in comparison to the PC game, which, for me, is a 10. It's a game with a captivating story and charismatic, unforgettable characters, definitely a game that leaves its mark on a generation for those who enjoy cRPGs.

    Terrible game , its almost unplayable, with less than 20 fps makes it worst game on ps5! Act 3 is a bad work of optimization.

    I love how 0 star reviewers has put 100+ hours in this game, when it's not been out on PS5 for 100+ hours. You can barely hate act 3 yet.

    There are so many things to say about this game that I could just stand up and applaud for 10 minutes straight. It's definitely a game that deserves to be the "Game of the Year," absolutely fantastic in every aspect. Hats off to Larian.

    The game does not disappoint. Plays amazing on PS5 and the UI for actions being all radial menus frees up screen space to see more of the world. GOTY.

    The game looks and plays extremely well. I've put about 12 hours in so far, and I am amazed at how much I can do and in all the different ways I can do it.

    I've been playing on Tactician, so every choice I make determines how well I do in the fight.     BG3 has rolled a 20 to get itself into GOTY contention.
    From the smooth gameplay and gorgeous graphics, this is the true next generation experience and no other RPG comes close. This will be remembered as one of the greatest games.

    I got this on PC and PS5. It is an amazing game.

    I've never been a fan of turn-based games or DnD. But this game has choices that matter, great dialog, really meaningful actions and outcomes. It also has emotion.

    And you can play it a variety of ways. The devs also listen to fans and fix bugs.

The game is complicated - especially to those who are not familiar with DnD mechanics - and you're required to really take your time with it.     Groundbreaking games introduce new players to a genre or subgenre they normally wouldn't consider, BG3 is exactly that. I'm by no means a fan of D&D or really any tabletop game but this was so compelling it's been impossible to put down. While I'm roughly only 20 hours into the game this has already been one of the most memorable gaming experiences I've ever had. Pure, Magic.

    Never played any d&d games and this one was my first. Was really sceptical but boy I was wrong and the game is amazing. Love everything about it and would recommend anyone to play it :)

    Without a doubt the best RPG ever created! Whether for the freedom of choices, narrative or captivating characters, it does not lose in any aspect. I've been playing for hours and the only thing I want is Keep playing! The best RPG experience, whether for fans of the genre or not. Everyone needs to give this masterpiece a chance!!!

    I love this game. Already clocked in at 24 hours of play time, been playing early access because I preordered the game and been having a blast all around.

    I love it when RPGs give you complete agency over everything, and it seems to have no limitations on what you can or can't do, the dialogue options are fun, the characters are interesting to talk to with their own motives and    I love this game.     I love it when RPGs give you complete agency over everything, and it seems to have no limitations on what you can or can't do, the dialogue options are fun, the characters are interesting to talk to with their own motives and ambitions, the setting is fun. This game has very few weaknesses.

    The only downside one might see is turn-based combat, but I honestly think it was done pretty well here. The sheer number of skills and perks you get for characters allows you tons of ways to make the combat fun. It's even to a point where you can give your characters the ability to attack multiple times per turn and decimate enemy camps with high dps. The RPG aspects is what initially got me playing this game but the combat is so much fun that I can't put the game down.

    The game also gives you tons of game options to customize the game to make things even more difficult if you want it to be. I really like the karmic dice option which allows you to go classic DND ruleset using the dice more often which can make combat and dialogues even more complex than it is.

    The sheer amount of ways to have fun and keep you engaged and coming back to this game is why I think Baldur's Gate 3 is a masterpiece.    … Expand

    This is tough to write because honestly, Act 1 and 2 make this game THE Game of the Year. Heck, I was ready to put it in my top 5 all time favorite games. I have 100+ hours in this game now and just loved the story and choices and the combat.

    And then Act 3 happened. I started having performance issues, I started having weird glitches were my companions would lose half their bodies and    This is tough to write because honestly, Act 1 and 2 make this game THE Game of the Year. Heck, I was ready to put it in my top 5 all time favorite games. I have 100+ hours in this game now and just loved the story and choices and the combat.

    And then Act 3 happened. I started having performance issues, I started having weird glitches were my companions would lose half their bodies and couldn't fight anymore, I've had 5 different quests completely bug out on me and even a main quest bug out that I can't even complete. Not only that, but the story choices of what is going on - the main bad guys and fights aren't as thought out as things were in the first 2 acts. It is very clear that Act 3 was completely rushed in my opinion to get the release out the door and does not have the same care that Acts 1 and 2 had.

    All of that enjoyment of Acts 1 and 2 to just come up against the frustrations in Act 3 killed my enthusiasm for this game. I know Larian will likely fix these issues as I suspect as more people start finishing the game they will see/hear this criticism - and quite possibly they already know this. But I can't in good faith recommend someone spend 80+ hours in a game and then just run up against game breaking bugs that won't allow them to finish the game they way they want to. That just feels pretty bad.    … Expand

    Minor issues aside, it’s hard not to be blown away by the scope of Baldur’s Gate 3’s achievements. For player freedom, for DnD simulation, for choice-based storytelling, for writing, and for a multitude of other things, it’s very much become the new gold standard. I’ve been enraptured by every single minute I’ve spent in the densely packed world of Baldur’s Gate 3, and I’m going to be spending many, many more hours here before I’ve had my fill.    … Expand

    It is abundantly clear why this massive adventure took six years to develop from every lovingly sharpened plot hook, every subtle quirk of a party member’s lips, and every new arrangement of that gorgeous, central musical motif. Baldur’s Gate 3 is a glorious lightning strike, pairing talent with timing for not just a worthy successor to the series’ crown, but something truly special in its own right.
