    Baldur's Gate III is a turn-based CRPG with an absolutely fantastic story and a lovingly crafted game world. For me, it is one of the best games of all time because it gives me every freedom to shape the story in my own direction. However, this may be considered a "risk" by some players. You are not taken by the hand like in Ubisoft games, but have to work out your own adventure (which iBaldur's Gate III is a turn-based CRPG with an absolutely fantastic story and a lovingly crafted game world. For me, it is one of the best games of all time because it gives me every freedom to shape the story in my own direction. However, this may be considered a "risk" by some players. You are not taken by the hand like in Ubisoft games, but have to work out your own adventure (which i LOVE in a rpg). This happens through discovery, conversations with NPCs and a few (but not too many) fixed main story points. If you do this, then you are rewarded with a really immersive RPG experience.

    Furthermore, I find the quality of the game convincing across all three acts. Content-wise, I even like the third act the best, as it has some incredibly epic quest lines that put just about any other RPG to shame. From time to time, however, there are still minor performance bugs in this Act. Nothing too bad though, give it a try.

    As a conclusion, if you fancy an incredible role-playing experience, this is your game. 10/10 :)

    The following tips:

    - talk to almost all NPCs

    - save frequently

    - don't forget the Speak with animals and Speak to dead spells, as they give you access to some of the best content.

    - When fighting, remember that not only damage is important, but also the number of moves your player and opponent make and penalty and attack rolls. Therefore, frequently use support spells and potions. There are some great Youtube-videos that may help you out!

Like seriously, if this game released in 1999, it would have been just as popular as all the other games like this one, in other words....not too popular. These games had decent fanbase on PC, but they were never mainstream level.     But now it's 2023 and everyone takes gaming more seriously than religion and bunch of different people are overhyping this game for different reasons. There are diablo fans (haters), there are those who forgot that Final Fantasy hasn't been turn based for 20 years and want new games to be turn based and then there are those who like to go along with hypetrain, without even caring if the game is actually any good.

    Did i like it? No i didn't. In 1999 i might have enjoyed it, but even back then it wouldn't have been nothing special.    … Expand

    This is tough to write because honestly, Act 1 and 2 make this game THE Game of the Year. Heck, I was ready to put it in my top 5 all time favorite games. I have 100+ hours in this game now and just loved the story and choices and the combat.

    And then Act 3 happened. I started having performance issues, I started having weird glitches were my companions would lose half their bodies and    This is tough to write because honestly, Act 1 and 2 make this game THE Game of the Year. Heck, I was ready to put it in my top 5 all time favorite games. I have 100+ hours in this game now and just loved the story and choices and the combat.

    And then Act 3 happened. I started having performance issues, I started having weird glitches were my companions would lose half their bodies and couldn't fight anymore, I've had 5 different quests completely bug out on me and even a main quest bug out that I can't even complete. Not only that, but the story choices of what is going on - the main bad guys and fights aren't as thought out as things were in the first 2 acts. It is very clear that Act 3 was completely rushed in my opinion to get the release out the door and does not have the same care that Acts 1 and 2 had.

    All of that enjoyment of Acts 1 and 2 to just come up against the frustrations in Act 3 killed my enthusiasm for this game. I know Larian will likely fix these issues as I suspect as more people start finishing the game they will see/hear this criticism - and quite possibly they already know this. But I can't in good faith recommend someone spend 80+ hours in a game and then just run up against game breaking bugs that won't allow them to finish the game they way they want to.     I can't begin to explain how much I love this game, the graphics are amazing and it runs as smooth as ever. I've heard it runs at PC ultra settings and you can definitely tell. I spent 2 hours in the character maker because it's so in depth and amazing. Everything you could ever want.

    Absolutely beautiful game. This is the type of game I’ve been waiting for. They amount of choices and decisions you can make is actually insane. This game definitely should win Goty if I’m being honest or Zelda.

    You cannot deny the passion and care Larian Studios put into creating one of the best turn-based RPG games this year after 66 hours. As someone who plays a lot of D&D, I found the plot to be engaging and compelling, and the universe to be expansive and interactive. and your flexibility and decision-making are excellent.

    60 hours in and im blown away at how good this RPG is. The setting, characters, story and combat are all top tier. BG3 has set the bar so high there will be nothing to match it in the years to come and maybe a once in a lifetime type of game. Thousands of hours of gameplay, there is so much to do and see around literally every corner. Tachician difficultly makes combat extremely60 hours in and im blown away at how good this RPG is. The setting, characters, story and combat are all top tier. BG3 has set the bar so high there will be nothing to match it in the years to come and maybe a once in a lifetime type of game.     Easily one of the best RPGs I've ever had the pleasure of playing. If you enjoy turn based games, then you will probably love this. If you don't, I'd still recommend trying it out when it eventually goes on sale. There's so much bang for your buck here. I'd go into detail about what I like, but I don't want to give out any spoilers. I know I try to avoid them in reviews

    BG3 is actually the perfect RPG game. Has had me hooked ever since release and I’ve seriously been nonstop playing. Amazing storytelling, lovable characters and the strategic gameplay is so fun. 10/10 would recommend.

    Simplesmente um dos melhores jogos que já joguei, com narrativa extremamente rica e muita liberdade ao jogador, estou muito contente de poder jogar um jogo que normalmente é para pc no playstation. A larian studios está de parabéns por conseguir criar um rpg extremamente fiel aos rpgs de mesa, é uma experiência única!

    Graphics: 9 (some pop in but not to bad) Music: 10 (holy **** that main theme) Gameplay: 9 (the inventory menu is a little different but overall the gameplay is every engaging) Optimization: 8 ( act 3 needs some work but it isn’t game breaking) Story: 9 (so far I’m only 80 hours haven’t finished the campaign    Alright been waiting for this game for awhile now so I will keep this short.

    Perfect game. Sooo much freedom, sooo much power. Unlike some other RPG’s that “pretend” to be next gen in gameplay and exploration… BG3 IS THAT. Best game I have played in years maybe not since Persona 5 have I been this excited to log back into my system.

Yes there are some issues with frame rates but nothing game breaking. And I’m very happy with the idea that this game has no microtransactions no payed dlc it’s a one time payment and you have hundreds of hours of content.     So this is my first turn based game. Personally Eldin ring is my favorite game of all time. Loved the exploration and density of the world. This game is giving me a similar feeling and I love it. Have never played a game so dense with content that's actually enjoyable to do and not recycled throughout the world. To those on the fence just give it a shot. It's special.

    I'm glad we've been blessed with such a great game and don't understand the partially bad reviews here at all.

    The performance is great, also there are almost no bugs or dropouts. So definitely a super good game that you can't go wrong with. Because of the poorer performance in act 3 but still 9/10 until the problem is fixed.

    This game is a masterpiece, a one in a decade masterpiece.

    There are some minor bugs in the PS5 version, as you would expect for a game of this size and magnitude, but larian has been on the ball fixing issues.

    I'm not sure why some people are review bombing this game? Some of them I checked were angry Starfield fans (also a good game that I'm currently playing), some are Nintendo fans, some just seem to be... unbalanced people. This game has given me so many hours of great entertainment, both in singleplayer, and currently in a multiplayer campaign with my younger brother. Good story, wellI'm not sure why some people are review bombing this game? Very good game,turn based is not for everyone and honestly,I think I would like it better if it was real time action but it makes up for it in the rpg department. It’s engaging,looks beautiful and runs well on the ps5. All of these performance issues,i did not experience. Crashed once,framerate dropped and has a few bugs that needs to be ironed out. Realistically it’s an 8.5-9 for me but giving it a 10 to combat the loonies on here giving it 0 and the ones praising it to high heavens only to give it a 5/10. I guarantee you none of the people giving it a low score actually played it and it’s pretty obvious. Oh and yes there’s a non binary character choice so if you’re allergic to that,just walk away… Expand

    What a game. This is what should be the benchmark when calling something game of the generation. I’ve never played a game where I’ve had as much fun and gave a sense of adventure like this. Split screen has its issues but it’s things that can be patched and Larian is working hard to provide said patches having already made 2 hotfixes in the span on 4 days. It's been a while since I've gotten so hooked on a game and what makes it even better is that we're already in a very good year for gaming as there have already been very good games released across all systems and the year isn't even over yet strong releases are coming and the Baldur's Gate III is up against games that, had they been released in previous years, would have easily won the GOTY.     It's extremely addictive, even though it's slow paced. Cross save function works flawlessly if you wait for the sync to finish before closing the game (I lost a small amount of progress switching between Steam and PS5 when I didn't wait)... The cross save is wild. It means I can bring it with me on    I've never been an RPG fan, much less a turn based combat person, but this game rocks!

    There's so much this game does right, but my favorite detail is the hand-drawn grid maps for every location. It's a love letter to tabletop and I have yet to see any reviewer mention it. This game breathes excellence and will inspire a generation of new game developers to meet the standards this game set.

    I struggle with turn based games, I just don't have the mind that can think three moves ahead. But at the same time, I love these types of game. Because more often than not, there is a good story to be had beyond the general gameplay. Baldur's Gate 3 straight for the start had me hooked, great opening to a game.     I feel a little out of my depth, with some of the DnD aspects having never played. But I think the game does a good job of making it accessible to people like me, and peaks an interest that I didn't know was there. The world building here is fantastic with some quite adult themes, that surprised me a little as more often than not in games these days we shy away from things.

    Holding my own in combat, which surprised me. Found the odd encounter difficult, but went away levelled up a bit and went back to fare better. I think, not to view every encounter as a fight, is probably a good way to go. You can avoid things, with a bit of charm, charisma or just arrogance. And be wary of your environments. There is so much you can use to your advantage or enemies can likewise use that might not be initially apparent.

    Finally, a game that has met and even exceeded my expectations, I was beginning to think it was never possible to experience that again. But hats off to Larian they have delivered with this game. And even if these types of games are not your bag, the RPG elements are worth it in themselves. Fantastic game with loads of replay value.    … Expand

    The game is very smooth with the controller, saves are fast Next, full of abilities, which is not confusing at all because it is designed for the console The gameplay can be called more of a strategy than turn base . choosing the dialogue has a meaning. With the dice that are lucky, you feel like you have entered a wonderful fantasy story book that you create yourself.

I got hooked from the first moments after starting the game. The story is full and detailed, characters deep and interesting. It’s the first game I genuinely enjoy clearing all side quests and spendingA true masterpiece. I’ve never been a fan of games like these, I’m more of an Action gamer. I was incredibly surprised and impressed how immersive and rich the universe is in the game. I got hooked from the first moments after starting the game. The story is full and detailed, characters deep and interesting. It’s the first game I genuinely enjoy clearing all side quests and spending stupid amount of my time on it too! As for issues with Act 3, we’ll I’m not there yet so can’t comment except to say, I’m certain the developers will work incredibly hard to remedy these and are likely to be PS5 related issues. Hold your breath and I’m sure they’ll be fixed.… Expand

    I have played games since 1990, and this is my first comment on games, I give 10 of 10 for baldur's gate 3, massive stories and choices and open ending drive me exciting and unforgettable, 2023 is an amazing year in game history, Zelda has already made a great job but compared with BG3, I prefer giving a little bit higher rating to BG3.

    I have already played well over 280 hours on PC and 48 hours on PS5, across 4 different playthroughs (some incomplete) and loved every second of it. I play DnD 5e regularly, and this is the closest thing in the video game world to simulating what it's like. The voice acting and facial expressions are outstanding, the story is captivating. The world design is stunning, the combat is so fun and feels exactly like DnD 5e with a few quality of life changes, I'm so glad they made it turn-based unlike the previous two Bauldr's Gates. You just can't have DnD without turn base combat, it doesn't work! This is by far the best Bauldr's Gate so far and definitely the best CRPG I have ever played. Act 3 could do with a touch up, but knowing Larian, they will go above and beyond to polish any shortcomings, which is why it won't affect my rating.

    Pay no heed to most of the negative reviews, other than the few disappointed by the current endings of act 3 (which still doesn't warrant giving it a negative rating at all). The other negative reviews are just toxic review bombers who are either insane homophobes, bots, DnD hater's or just people who want their pet video game (probably Zelda/Starfield players) to win GOTY. These degenerates are trying their hardest to bring down the score and defame this absolute gem of a game. Report them.

    Well done Larian, you successfully achieved what you set out to do, polish act 3, fix more of the epilogues and you have made one of the best video games in history! Pay attention gaming industry, be like Larian.    … Expand

    -Companions are too horny. Some shouldn't be romanceable. I miss good "comradeship" type of relationship with them. Like just hitting a tavern or something.
    -No dynamic weather system, or at least not a very cool set of weather effects. Weather gives so much to the ambience of games. They should really have this.
    -Same with day and night cycle. I understand that you camp in the night, but I would very much enjoy exploring the same places in the night.
    -Buggy jump AI. (Oftentimes companions don't follow you jumping, you have to do it manually for everyone, which on console is a bit tedious sometimes.

    I think that's it.

We have five separate play-throughs in our house (2 on PC) and we’re ALL experiencing different stories. It’s lovingly crafted with attention to detail that satisfies even this 2nd ed. AD&DDON’T MISS THIS EXPERIENCE!! Unequivocally the best video game adaptation of TT D&D!!     36 hours in and i am totally hooked, so many different options with twist and turns that can be decided by a roll of dice. + Great writing

This is a solid Larian studios that, using the Forgotten Realms campaign setting and the lore that has been developed for it for over 40 years, create a good, immersive game. The plot is engaging and there are so many thing to do sidequest wise that you feel like the worldBaldur's Gate 3 is not the same as the other 2 entries of the series. It has none of the Black Isle design or logic.     Which leads to the negatives... There are areas and characters that have suffered even though there was a huge development cycle (looking at you Karlach!), with some side quest endings feeling rushed and not as good as one would have hoped. There are no bags of holding (HERESY!) and there are times where the engine stutters and you miss cinematic moves during a dialogue. And apparently everyone in the realms is thirsty and gender is a suggestion!

    All in all, a really good, solid Larian game. If you like CRPGs or RPGs in general you should at the very least try it.    … Expand

    It is abundantly clear why this massive adventure took six years to develop from every lovingly sharpened plot hook, every subtle quirk of a party member’s lips, and every new arrangement of that gorgeous, central musical motif.
