    One of my wife's favorite games. Something we didn't expect to be good, ending up giving her hours of free enjoyment. The use of the new controller is phenomenal adding a new layer to all the simple tasks you are given. She kept stopping to tell me to look at something cute, and as I sat back to listen I noticed the music was very good and quite catchy.     Exceeded my expectations in a best way. Was only expecting a short tech demo, but it turned out to be a stellar platformer as well. It only takes a few hours to beat and a few more to get plat but I was having fun all these time. Plus it's free, so yeah!

    Astro is something extraordinary. I wouldn't analyze it for the game it is, but for what they wanted to show you it gets full marks.
    Amazing how Dual Sense is exploited and for all the secrets for playstation fans. Absolutely to try.

    Despite that it's marketed as a game to showcase the blows and whistles of the new PS5, it's just a great 3d platformer. And soundtrack is a masterpiece.

    The gameplay in Astro's Playroom is perfect.    Amazing experience that every PS5 owners should play. I cannot remember the last time I a video game console had a free game installed. This is fitting for the themes of Astro's Playroom, a nostalgia trip of over 25 years of PlayStation and a demo for all the new features of the PS5. A free pack-in game is a new feature by today's standards.

    The gameplay in Astro's Playroom is perfect. Astrobot has a laser jump that will float him across gaps and destroy enemies. (Astrobot is a vicious little killing machine.) This makes the platforming rather forgiving, and adept players will be able circumvent obvious routes to speed through areas. Astrobot also has a punch and a charge up spinning attack that is always fun to watch. Some areas have weapons like a bow and arrow or a chain gun.

    The world is rich with activity. I truly have fun watching my family navigate this game space. The world is overflowing with little bots who get into trouble, re-enact memorable scenes from PlayStation games, and interact with Astrobot. Few platformers have this kind of attention to detail. The total effect is simply "wow".

    For people who play inverted like me, you can invert the Y or X access in the PS5's main system menu. I think this option was omitted from Astro's Playroom because Sony wants you to find that system toggle. The game has a functional quality to not only show you the advantages of the DualSense controller, but also the gameplay features. To be fair to Sony, functions such as 3D motion controls and the touch bar were already in the DualShock 4 controller. Game developers really need to start bringing their control schemes to the modern era.

    The climbing section of Astro's Playroom is the perfect example of how innovative a game can be. Astrobot climbs into a monkey robot suit (one of 3 robot suits in the game) and has to use a combination of the left and right triggers and the motion controls to climb up a mountain that is studded with handholds and hanging bars. I have never been so taxed to move in a PlayStation game and I loved it. Climbing in games vacillates between a slow moving chore and the game auto-climbing your character up walls while you hold down X. Astrobot's Playroom is the first time I have seen climbing get gamefide.

    In addition to being an utter joy to play, Astrobot is also a quick Platifnum trophy for those who care about that kind of thing. I usually have disdain for in-game collectibles though I am a completionist at heart and if the burden of collectibles is not too high, I may go for it. The collectibles in Astro's Playroom fill up a showroom of 5 generations of PlayStation gear surround by giant murals. The number of collectibles is not only management, you have a sense of something to show for your effort.

    All-in-all, Astro's Playroom is a must play. When you buy a PS5, you may be excited to get into one of the many AAA games for PS5. Wait on those. Soak in all the goodness of Astro's Playroom first.    … Expand

    This was such an amazing experience demonstrating the new controller. I really hope that a lot of games in the future will utilize the new feature the way that this game did.

    I say to people that I don't believe in 10 as a score, and I never will. I believe that is impossible to receive. Nothing is ever perfect.... but then you have games like this come around every so often. Its not perfect, but its as close to perfect as you can get. I feel so strongly that this game deserves nothing less than a 9.8, so I have to round up.

    I still can't find any single person who played the game that it's says at least it's a so so game. It has that kind of magic like any Mario where if you have the chance, you will spend 5, 10 hours playing and having fun like a kid. It doesn't matter your age.

    I really hope Sony keep this IP alive and bring us more delight chapters of one of the best surprises last years. Oh, and just a note: I was the only one of my friends circle who said this it will be a great game when it was announced. And my feeling was right!

    E justamente no jogo que deveria servir de demonstração desses recursos, prova que não é só isso. É um sensacional game clássico de plataforma.

    Inspirado por clássicos no estilo Crash Bandicoot e Mario 64, ele tem aquela "fórmula Nintendo" que nos trás exatamente o que precisamos: um belo level design, jogabilidade excelente e muita diversão.

    Eu ainda não encontrei uma só pessoa que tenha jogado e não tenha se encantado pelo jogo. Ele tem aquela magia, do tipo Mario, que te faz gastar horas e horas na frente da TV se tiver a chance. Exatamente como quando éramos criança.

    A beautiful game that pays homage to the Sony Playstation brand. It makes superb use of the new Dual Sense Controller shipped with the PS5. It's an awesome game with great replay value and above all, it's completely free and included with the new PS5!

    It also has some really nice and fun easter eggs!

    What a fantastic first thing to experience on the PS5 – Astro's Playroom is a complete joy to behold. Bursting with creativity and fun, this 'tech demo' is so much better than you would expect. The duel sense controller is used to perfection here and I am still amazed at how it feels (the raindrops are my personal favourite).     I really don’t think Sony realise how great AstroBot is. It is simply flawless, imaginative, polished and perfect. They really need to make more of these, immersive for kids and adults alike. I’d give it 11 if I could.

This is the perfect example of what Nintendo should have bundled their Switch with on launch instead of selling that godawful 1-2 switch game. And I sincerely applaud developers of this game for making such a great job.

    Le tengo q dar un 10. Xq es algo nuevo en sensaciones y tacto por decirlo de alguna manera por las funciones que trae el mando haptico. Las vibraciones en el mando se notan por cada superficie que pisas, los gatillos al manejar naves, monos y el robot “muellito” me parece algo increible. Encima es gratis. Y el juego es super dibertido. Gracias.

    Really enjoyed what I could only describe as a "tech demo" platformer game, packed with lots of playstation easter eggs, amazing dualsense feedback, and a cute little robot that might as well be the new playstation mascot! I only wished it had a coop game mode, or a full stand alone game, for a free and pre-installed game it is a must play!

    I just platinumed this game and all I can say is, WOW!
    I now understand why everyone that tried this out prior to the PS5 launch said that it can't be explained, you have to experience it.
    How they showcased everything on what the DualSense can do, it's just amazing.
    The game it self is fun, nice looking platformer and I hope to see more of Astro in the future.

    A must play for all PS5 owners, as it comes preinstalled with the console. With 3-4h of duration, this is a joy to play. There are many easter eggs and references that draw a smile on my face, and the gameplay varies all the time as well, using the different features of the controller. Outstanding game to kick off the generation.

    The game is quite short with around 4-5hrs and gets a bit repetitive over time but for being free and created with much love it is a perfect entry point for the new generation. It showcases the year long effort from Sony put into the whole Playstation franchise and also shows how incredibly potent the new Dual Sense controller is.

    I consider this game a perfect one for youngster and old ones. It is just very wholesome and I bet 99% will enjoy their time with this game. Just be aware of that the constant effects on controller side will wear the battery down rather fast. Dont let yourself confused this is no comparison to the standard usage of other games and cannot be compared.

    Enjoy next-gen on the PS5, dont miss out this free game.

    This game was meant to be a tech demo for the PS5 Dualsense controller and it ended up being so much more. Game is genuinely such a fun time from the gameplay to all of the secrets/colelctables, to the beautiful colors, visuals overall presentation to the genuine cuteness of it. This is more than a tech demo. Definitely worth giving a try and an easy platinum.

    I played this while waiting to install other Playstation games. I usually play on Xbox Series X, and this game blew my mind. The graphics are really good, I struggle to think of Xbox exclusives that look better. It's also just a really fun cute game, and a perfect way to show players what PS5 and the Dual Sense controller can do. Xbox and Nintendo can learn from this. I'm very happy II played this while waiting to install other Playstation games. I usually play on Xbox Series X, and this game blew my mind. The graphics are really good, I struggle to think of Xbox exclusives that look better. It's also just a really fun cute game, and a perfect way to show players what PS5 and the Dual Sense controller can do. Xbox and Nintendo can learn from this.     Honestly I hadn't had this much fun with a game in a long time. My only complaint is that I wish it was a full blown game and not just 3hrs plus about 1.5hrs of finding collectibles.

    Easily among the best platform games ever, it rivals mario, banjo and ratchet and clank games and might even succeed them in every way!! Ohh and the soundtrack is fantastic btw.

    Congrats Asobi ! You've made a masterpiece of a platformer / tech "demo"! Absolutely stunned by this game which for a start I thought it would be a 10 min showcase of the buttons of the DualSense.. Incredible job, just can't say enough praise for this game! And can't stop singing the GPU song!

    if you born in 80s or 90s and you had all PlayStations consoles like me, this is best nostalgia ever, best museum ever, best everything.
    I really didn't expect to be that amazing.
    From now on I am more fan of PlayStation and Astro playroom.

    This is a Must play for PS5 owners!
    There's a ton of different cool things to experience in this game and sometimes it can be challenging as well. Everything looks aesthetically pleasing and the player's gonna have an overload of nostalgia and cuteness. I felt so good playing it, i want others to feel the same way.

    I'm giving it almost a 10 for being free and very fun! Glad it comes with the PS5 and showcases beautifully the features and capabilities of the DualSense! I know why the game isn't as long as I would've wanted but it's understandable. If you get a PS5 play it!

    The more you play it, the more you forget this a tech demo. This utilizes the DualSense's capabilities perfectly and is a treat to play. After a while, I started playing like a sandbox 3d platformer and looking every corner of these beautiful to find what I was missing. This game truly deserves more credit!

    Fun, addictive and an amazing showcase for the Dualsense controller. There are so many references to the games and consoles of the past in this colorful world. It showed me all the great experiences I had with Playstation in the past. What a way to start this generation!

    Probably one of the best pack in games with any console. Incredibly charming and fun. Does a great job of showing off what the console and controller can do while still being enjoyable all on it's own merits. Extremely excited to see more from this team.

    I really enjoyed Astro’s Playroom, it’s not just a fun kids game (quite similar to Little Big Planet) and a tech demo of the new controller (which is awesome) but it’s a lovely homage to all the previous generations of PlayStation consoles and games. It showed me all the features of the new generation while letting me relive all the previous generations that I knew and loved.

    A beautiful showcase for the new generation of Sony's gaming console. So many hidden details hinting at the history of Playstation, very thoughtful and creative level-design as well as a catchy soundtrack. Absolutely exceeded my expectations considering it's a freebie for every PS5 buyer.

While SMO is, obviously, much longer, I really liked only the desert and city worlds, while every world in Astro's Playroom is absolutely gorgeous and full of creativity and we also get anGraphics, music, gameplay, the playstation references and the spot on platforming make this a very solid and very good platformer for the PS5, which I actually loved much more than Super Mario Odyssey.     The best cartoon platformer after RC (on par with it when it comes to being transformative experience and smoothness of gameplay wise ) I actually liked the gameplay more than astro bot VR (the world feels more alive and the dynamic interactions between little astros is so SATISFYINGLY cute and fun

    Dualsense has literally changed the game and this game is its showcase. Great platformer that offers immersion like no other game due to the controller. So much fun and a great first Platinum for the next generation of PlayStation.

    With all around fantastic gameplay, graphics, design, and just overall fun, I’d argue that under different circumstances, this could have even been considered a game of the year contender. I never realized just how much the Sony PlayStation had influenced my life until I played this game.
