Dec 5, 2023Vertigo Games has brought the Arizona Sunshine franchise back from the dead and living its best afterlife. With pitch perfect writing, acting, pacing and outstanding action, Arizona Sunshine 2 offers some of the most engaging and accessible arcade violence yet to grace VR.
-
Dec 5, 2023An absolute blast from start to finish, Arizona Sunshine 2 outdoes its predecessor in every way, and that’s high praise indeed.
-
Dec 6, 2023Arizona Sunshine 2 is leaps and bounds better than the original game. If the issues from that one put you off, then this one will bring you back for some good ol’ Fred destroying goodness. There some areas of the game that are not perfect by any means, but as I stated, small post release patches can fix those minor issues, and I am sure Vertigo is working on them. After experiencing the first game, I can safely say that playing the sequel was a way better experience overall and can recommend it to anyone with a PlayStation VR2.

Dec 5, 2023Arizona Sunshine 2 shows just what fun the PSVR 2 can be if utilized correctly. I had a blast blowing off limbs of the undead and participating in some extremely satisfying reload animations. It may not win awards for its story, but it's easily one of the best titles to utilize the power and technology of the PSVR 2. There is endless fun to be had alone or with up to four buddies.
-
Dec 14, 2023Arizona Sunshine 2 might not be the groundbreaking landmark the first game was, but improved gunplay, a fun companion, and rapid-fire jokes make this a ride well worth taking. Often tense, always fun, and sometimes emotionally impactful, Arizona Sunshine feels like big-budget entertainment. Just play by yourself the first time so your friend doesn't chatter through all the good stuff.
-
Dec 5, 2023The sequel remains true to its predecessor and takes the franchise to a new level. Strong graphics and superb weapon control are the biggest plus points. On the other hand, the level of difficulty is low and the artificial intelligence is average at best. Simple light hearted fun and suited best for casual mature PSVR2-users

Mar 1, 2024A well-made zombie shooter and one of the few games currently enhancing the PS VR2 lineup. Solid content, beautiful graphics, and a fantastic shooting experience provide ample entertainment for an extended period.
-
Feb 7, 2024Overall, Arizona Sunshine 2 stands out as a compelling game, offering an engaging diversion, particularly for enthusiasts of the action-driven survival genre. The game is forgiving with its penalties and excels in delivering an immersive experience, showcasing an interactive approach to both navigation and gameplay mechanics.
-
Jan 4, 2024Great sequel with many improvements. Your canine company 'buddy' is both adorable and useful in combat and solving puzzles. You're fitted out with a wide range of guns and the occasional melee weapon, but their usefulness is limited - as is your storage for them. Focus is clearly still on shooting Freddies. The improved reload-mechanism adds a new source of anxiety, especially when you fumble with Freddies approaching. There are a couple of technical hiccups, but they don't stand in the way of fun.
-
Dec 24, 2023A good zombie slayer, heir to one of the first games of the genre in virtual reality. Arizona Sunshine 2 uses some references – dog à la Fallout, TLoU-style zombie mutations, mainly – to increase the fun and game solutions. It's a shame for a visual design that took into account the all-in-one versions of the game, especially in outdoor scenarios, and the graphic limitations are also felt on PS VR2 and PC. Better show, but not as much as it could have been.
-
Dec 19, 2023Arizona Sunshine 2 builds on the previous installment in the best possible way. The game does not rely on a story, but rather on action, as it is a wonderful shooter that offers a lot of interactivity and fun, especially if you play together. The game has some technical sloppiness, but other than that it is an excellent adventure to experience. Do you have a VR headset? Then Arizona Sunshine 2 is worth your time.
-
Dec 13, 2023Arizona Sunshine 2 may not have the depths of its neighbouring Grand Canyon, but it’s more than made up for due to the sheer satisfaction of clicking Zombie heads, in what has got to be one of the more immersive shooters on the market. The slapstick charm and snarky protagonist gain a heart as your fantastic canine companion improves the story as well as gameplay.
-
Dec 10, 2023Arizona Sunshine 2 is exactly what we expected, the classic "bigger and better" sequel that improves and expands on what was good in the previous title. Among the new features we appreciated the introduction of Buddy, an excellent addition that enriches the gameplay and the player's involvement, without forgetting the new physical approach to fighting that enhances the characteristics of virtual reality. We cannot say the same for the crafting system, which proved to have little influence in the experience economy. Despite some technical flaws and a lack of enemy variety, the new shooter from Vertigo Games works very well and manages to offer a noteworthy campaign, presenting itself as one of the most valid zombie-themed products in the VR catalogue.
-
Dec 6, 2023Arizona Sunshine 2 convinces with its brainless action, its silly humor and the relationship between Buddy and the protagonist. It may not innovate and have technical flaws; even you can have seen all its tricks in other games, but what it does, it does in a very entertaining way: it's almost impossible to get bored with it.
-
Dec 5, 2023Arizona Sunshine 2 offers up satisfyingly tactile gunplay, a brilliantly well-paced campaign that’s filled to bursting with wonderful environmental design, huge hordes of zombies to slay, and some of the most impressive set pieces I've seen in a VR title.
-
Dec 5, 2023Arizona Sunshine 2 is a bloody, pulpy and, most importantly, meaty experience that turns undead dismemberment from a somewhat dated trope into a fun workout that gives you more than enough toys to play with. And with a loyal pup at your side, this sequel is not only a blast but it feels like the killer app the platform has been needing.
-
Dec 5, 2023Despite some technical letdowns, Arizona Sunshine 2 is still a joyous celebration of zombie brain-bashing. It features some of the best VR shooting on the market, with a reload mechanic that is incredibly satisfying and really brings to light what makes the platform so great in the first place. As a sequel, it improves graphically, narratively, and just controls a whole lot better. With a solid campaign offering, various difficulties, and a horde mode with more maps to come, Arizona Sunshine 2 is the full VR package — and an absolute must-buy for PSVR2 players.
-
Dec 11, 2023Arizona Sunshine 2 improves on every aspect of the original to make this one of the best zombie games on the PSVR 2. The weapons have never felt better and make mowing down enemies a thrill. Although the horde mode is a little basic and you’ll encounter the odd glitch, the fact you can play everything with a friend improves the entire experience. With its dark humor and well-designed world, you’ll have a sadistic time annihilating foes on your trek through a post-apocalyptic world.
-
Dec 7, 2023A fun and straightforward action and horror adventure in virtual reality, that improves the formula of the original without revolutionary changes, and introduces a canine companion that adds interaction and immersion. It tries to be varied but does not succeed, and it has some minor technical issues, especially with motion detection. Ideal if you are looking for simple and direct shooting and a bit of horror.
-
PLAYFeb 19, 2024A larger, varied zombie shooter sequel with an emotionally resonant story about a man and his dog, but equipment frustrations mean it’s short of VR greatness. [Issue#36, p.74]
-
Dec 11, 2023You’ll have a good enough time with Arizona Sunshine 2, but for the sequel to one of VR’s greatest, it’s hard to walk away without feeling like it could’ve been something more.
-
Dec 6, 2023Despite the many technical issues Arizona Sunshine 2 is still a good game for VR gamers. There's really nothing like wandering around a zombie wasteland with your pet dog, but you may want to wait until a patch or two has been released to fix the bigger problems.
-
Dec 6, 2023Arizona Sunshine 2 could have been one of the best VR games, but the developers made some weird decisions that get in the way of fully enjoying the game. However, they succeeded in what is most important - enjoyable zombie shooting. Buddy the dog is also a fantastic addition to the first installment.
-
Dec 5, 2023Arizona Sunshine 2 has its flaws, but it's still a competent VR shooter game that gives players a great deal of freedom when it comes to interacting with the game world. Killing zombies is perfectly functional, and the combat can be fun, though it's best experienced in short bursts. That being said, it's head and shoulders above the first Arizona Sunshine game, and an easy recommendation for anyone looking for a new VR shooter to play despite its shortcomings.
-
Dec 5, 2023Arizona Sunshine 2's technical problems prevent an otherwise solid zombie VR shooter from reaching its full potential.
-
Edge MagazineDec 28, 2023But while it might be unreasonable to expect EVERY VR title to advance the medium, surely it's not too much to ask that a game develops an idea or two beyond its own first hour? [Issue#393, p.118]
-
Dec 6, 2023A genuinely amusing zombie shooting sequel, that’s let down by clunky controls, too many bugs, and too little variety in its challenge.
