Dec 18, 2024A pitch-perfect recreation of the Aliens universe that balances a claustrophobic atmosphere with tense combat and authentic, analogue design. This is the kind of game you bought PSVR 2 to play.

Feb 10, 2025I’m an Aliens super-fan. I think that’s clear at this point, so it’s worth saying that I’m going to be predisposed to love a game that goes to the lengths this one does to recreate the aesthetics of that film. The flipside of that fandom is that I’ll recoil from anything that gets the franchise wrong. So with that in mind, hear me when I say that this is the best Alien game ever made. In fact, it only has one flaw — despite ending on a fantastic climax, Incursion is only part one of the whole story. I knew this going into it, but I was still shattered to see To Be Continued come up at a particularly shocking moment. That continuation can’t come quickly enough, but until it does I’ll keep playing Alien Rogue Incursion over and over again.

Dec 19, 2024Games from the Alien movie series tend to be hit and miss, but when they hit, they really hit. Alien: Rogue Incursion improves on the experience from the legendary Alien: Isolation. Rogue Incursion offers more of a traditional survival horror design thanks to its pacing, ammo conservation, puzzle solving and atmosphere. The pacing is what dictates this game, and while there may not be a ton of enemies on screen at once, it's about being enthralled in the position of a facility overtaken by Xenomorphs. Rogue Incursion isn't about mowing down enemies, it's about the unknown and the fact that the controls work flawlessly and minimal damage can be taken on Zula, Alien: Rogue Incursion is the first true survival horror game designed specifically for virtual reality. More importantly, for those Alien fans that have access to VR, this is the game to experience.

Dec 18, 2024Alien: Rogue Incursion isn't just a great VR game; it's one of the best Alien gaming experiences. The world is clearly built with love for Alien mythology, and the story is intriguing and believable with its surprises. The gameplay is diverse and technically well-executed, and the atmosphere is thrillingly exciting, thanks to the stunning visual style and detailed environment, as well as the multi-dimensional and authentic soundscape. While minor bugs with the virtual hands and somewhat one-dimensional combat were present, the overall experience, even against high expectations, is one of the year's best.

Dec 18, 2024Alien: Rogue Incursion is an excellent VR title. Very immersive, good gameplay ideas, accessible controls and the constant fear of a xenomorph around every corner. It's a must-have title in your PS VR2 library.

Dec 19, 2024You need to be a tough guy to dive into an VR Alien experience, but if that's your groove, you'll enjoy a game that perfectly honors the franchise.

Feb 5, 2025Alien: Rogue Incursion arrives as one of the best virtual reality experiences in a year, this past 2024, full of great VR titles. The setting is everything in the new Survios game - creators of other VR games such as Creed: Rise to Glory or The Walking Dead: Onslaught -, completely immersing us in what could be a new and terrifying story set in the canon universe of the 'Alien' saga, with a duration that can easily stretch to six or eight hours, depending on whether or not we thoroughly explore each level and its secrets. It offers an attractive mix of exploration, puzzles and unbridled action, all seasoned with a constant feeling of claustrophobia and extreme survival. In addition, visually it is quite a feat within the current virtual reality landscape despite the occasional setback in terms of animations or the position of the enemies in relation to their environment. The definitive 'Alien' experience reinforced by an increasingly established and effective virtual reality.

Dec 18, 2024Alien: Rogue Incursion is a faithful adaptation of the iconic series, capturing the panic-inducing dread and relentless action synonymous with the movies. Each step through the dark, metallic corridors is nerve-wracking, thanks to a suspenseful score and the meticulous attention to detail. While more action-heavy than Alien: Isolation, the game’s weighty, tactile weapons enhance the immersion, delivering a visceral and satisfying experience. The balance of tension and combat makes Rogue Incursion an essential addition to any VR library.

Dec 18, 2024Alien: Rogue Incursion blends stealth, horror and action to deliver an immersive and satisfying VR experience. While the dynamic Xenomorph AI will keep players on edge for the entirety of its runtime, some of the objective variety can be lacking. Regardless, the games and balance between Alien's horror and Aliens' action make it an engaging Alien experience from beginning to end. While Rogue Incursion may not reach Isolation's heights, it's an impressive, atmospheric ride with a gripping cliffhanger that leaves me eager for Part 2.

Feb 3, 2025Alien: Rogue Incursion is a VR experience worthy of the franchise’s legacy. While it has a few rough patches, they don’t take away from the excellent atmosphere and story.

Dec 18, 2024Alien: Rogue Incursion does a lot of things right. It skillfully transfers the claustrophobic atmosphere of the first Alien films to VR: the alternation of light and darkness, the nested corridors and rooms and the omnipresent Xenomorphs ensure that you are constantly on edge – even when you get into a certain routine in fighting the Alien. The disadvantage compared to other survival horror games is that there is essentially only one type of enemy here – and not, as in Doom and Co., a wide range of creeps. But the intense moments of the game, when Zula just reaches the safety of the Panic Room or wins a fight with the literally last bullet, make up for that. The setting with the rescue mission is somewhat generic, but Survios has put a lot of effort into the dialogue and dubbing. The game definitely fulfills the most important criterion: it feels like a real alien adventure.

Dec 18, 2024With a handful of bugs to iron out, Alien: Rogue Incursion isn’t quite a “perfect organism”, but it is a creepy good time with compelling performances and a great use of virtual reality.
-
Dec 18, 2024Alien: Rogue Incursion is one of the better survival horror VR games I’ve played, with a superb setting that's let down by monsters that are scary in not quite the right ways.

Jan 9, 2025Alien: Rogue Incursion brings the tension and immersion of the Alien universe to VR, with incredible atmosphere and clever use of technology. However, repetitive combat and limited variety reduce the thrill over time, leaving potential for improvement in the anticipated second part.
