Feb 5, 2025Alien: Rogue Incursion successfully transports players to the terrifying world of the Aliens Franchise in a VR experience that doesn't overstay its welcome.
-
Feb 5, 2025Alien: Rogue Incursion is the first VR-native game in the Aliens franchise, blending action-packed combat and exploration with an authentic cinematic atmosphere. While its intense encounters and immersive environments shine, the repetitive alien battles and punishing save system can dampen the overall experience.

Dec 27, 2024While never reaching particularly high quality peaks, Alien: Rogue Incursion confirms itself as a good action game in virtual reality, which sacrifices the horror element typical of the film saga in favor of a more direct and brutal approach. Although not intrinsically lacking, the formula chosen by the developers shows its side with a certain basic repetitiveness, closely linked to the reduction of the threat represented by the xenomorphs. While a little more variety would certainly have benefited the production of Survios, Rogue Incursion remains an enjoyable title, especially if you are a fan of the imagery created by Dan O'Bannon and Ronald Shusett.

Dec 27, 2024Alien: Rogue Incursion has a lot for Alien fans to love and appreciate, with surprises that'll truly delight fans the way they delighted me. But repetitive gameplay that doesn't really evolve dulls down the tension and scare-factor significantly by the time you're wrapping up this initial part of the story, and far too much jank pulls you out of the atmosphere that is working overtime to immerse you in the Alien universe. And yet, for Alien fans, it's one of the better games to come since Isolation, but it's not the new number one.

Dec 23, 2024Alien: Rogue Incursion is a solid first attempt from Survios to capture the iconic sci-fi franchise. If you’re a fan of the series like we are, then you’ll be giddy as you first get to hold your own pulse rifle; you’ll shiver as your motion tracker’s pulsating tone gets higher; and you’ll revel in the disgusting details of the H.R Giger-inspired Alien nests. It is let down at points with repetitive and lacklustre combat, trivial performance issues, and its hard cliff-hanger ending does leave you with far more questions than answers. But you’ll be hard pressed to find standout VR moments quite like the ones sprinkled throughout this fun campaign.

Dec 20, 2024Alien: Rogue Incursion stands as a commendable yet flawed entry into this beloved Alien franchise. The immersive atmosphere, engaging storytelling, and emotional character dynamics are captivating, but it falters after a few too many technical shortcomings and lack of meaningful closure. Further refinements could see this blossom into a solid VR terror filled experience, though anyone seeking a deep and gripping horror adventure may currently find it somewhat lacking.
-
Dec 19, 2024Alien Rogue Incursion is a nice VR game but we surely expected a different approach to match the Alien's universe.
-
Dec 18, 2024The vibes are right, the story is good, the graphic are fun, the sound effects are amazing, and the Xenomorphs are legit frightening. But all of that is almost undone by an antiquated save system, which combines with bugs to strand the player in frustrating gameplay loops. As a franchise fan, I would still play this game. But Xenomorphs aren't the only bugs you're going to be fighting.
-
Dec 18, 2024Alien: Rogue Incursion is a faithful and entertaining stab at bringing Alien to virtual reality. The excellent story, spot-on Alien environments, and creepy Xenomorphs keep the horrifying times going throughout its eight-hour duration, even when repetitive combat, predictable AI, and the odd bug here and there make it clear this is the first attempt that it is. But while there’s plenty of room for this budding series to grow, I can already happily recommend Rogue Incursion as a strong proof of concept to Alien fans and newcomers alike – one that’s left me eagerly awaiting part two.
-
Dec 18, 2024Breathless horror that efficiently recreates the look and feel of Aliens, but is let down by clunky motion sensing controls and reloading mechanics.

Edge MagazineJan 24, 2025As the adrenaline fades, disappointment always creeps in, that meeting this creature more up-close than ever before might have actually, finally defanged it. [Issue#407, p.98]

Jan 2, 2025Whilst the tropes, atmosphere and Xenomorph fear factor are intact, I'm not bursting from my chest with excitement for Alien: Rogue Incursion. The gameplay is cumbersome and inaccurate, the Xenomorphs' presence becomes a hindrance when you're backtracking and outside of a few great story moments it's quite slow. If you're fan of the Alien franchise, you'll love that it'll transport you into that world but you may have wished you hadn't stayed.
-
Dec 18, 2024Alien: Rogue Incursion is not a perfect game, and with a bit more refinement, it could have become something much deeper. Nevertheless, it’s an enjoyable title that we recommend to fans of Alien, who will have the chance to face a xenomorph up close thanks to virtual reality. Unfortunately, this encounter is unlikely to scare players, as Rogue Incursion is an action game that never seems to aim at truly terrifying its audience.
-
Dec 18, 2024I really wanted Alien: Rogue Incursion to be good and it starts so well, but then things just fall apart. There are many bad design decisions in the game so that you feel like you are fighting them rather than the Xenomorphs.
-
Dec 18, 2024Although Alien: Rogue Incursion does little to push the Virtual Reality space beyond what we’ve already grown familiar with, it’s another well-rounded experience that all owners should strongly consider, especially if you’re a lifelong fan of the IP.

Jan 4, 2025If you are looking for a great Alien video game, this is one of the best. A really good work translating the atmosphere and horror of the movies to VR experience. [Recommended]
