AI LIMIT shines in its world design, dark setting, and strategic combat, offering a worthy challenge for fans of the soulslike genre. However, its high difficulty (and consequently recurring deaths) can be frustrating for some players. Issues such as translation errors and bugs also prevent a more refined experience. Still, for those looking for a challenging and engaging RPG, AI LIMIT delivers a rewarding experience.

AI Limit is a cool Souls Like anime experience, not one that is very unique, but if you like games like Code Vein, this one might just land in a comfortable spot for you.

AI LIMIT copies so many elements that the genre has already established. But it still manages to find its unique way and deliver an unforgettable experience. It is a simple but undeniably atmospheric game. And we fell in love with it.

AI LIMIT delivers great combat, map design, and story, but suffers from repetitive enemies, forgettable bosses, and reused environments — still worth it for genre fans.

A surprisingly deep soulslike package, no stamina included.

Closer to Stellar Blade than Code Vein, this anime soulslike does new things with the genre's tropes. Its addictive gameplay loop, stark architecture and world design, swift rewarding combat, and manageable runtime combine into an action title worth your interest.

AI Limit can appear like a by-the-books souls-like. Still, more than enough gameplay design decisions grant it inherent distinction, favoring those who prefer swifter movement in their action games. Coupled with an impressive array of character customization that individualizes one’s playthrough, alongside engaging exploration, you have a reasonably satisfying package here with a welcoming playtime of 20 hours or so. Yet, the meager challenge and mishandled balancing may turn off those seeking a more fulfilling venture.

AI Limit is a blast to play, and is worth checking out for fans of the Soulslike genre, especially at the low cost of admission. It doesn't necessarily reinvent the wheel, but there's enough remix to the formula here to keep the game feeling fresh and exciting as you explore its excellent post-apocalyptic world. It's typically pretty easy compared to most of its contemporaries with a few contextually out-of-place difficulty spikes, which could ultimately hamstring its staying power overall. This inconsistency, combined with some minor performance issues, holds it back a bit, but it's still a rewarding journey worth taking, and a worthy addition to the growing catalog of quality non-FromSoftware Soulslike experiences. It left me wanting more, and interested to see what this studio can do next.

AI LIMIT is a good soulslike game. It has some things to improve on technical issues and it looks so much like its inspiration games. However, its good level design, the amount of different enemies and its gameplay makes it worth it.

If you value exploration in your Soulslikes more than any other aspect then you'll absolutely love the intricate and rewarding stage designs in AI LIMIT. However, if you want brutal and visceral combat then you should look elsewhere.

AI Limit is a good debut from the young team at SenseGames with an interesting sci-fi world full of mysteries that motivate you to keep playing, as well as a tactically challenging combat system. However, various problems prevent the Soulslike from reaching its full potential.

AI Limit represents a commendable effort from a small indie development team tackling an incredibly challenging genre. The game flashes moments of genuine creativity, but it lacks the polish and inspiration needed to stand alongside the pinnacle titles of the genre.

AI Limit is a solid soulslike, featuring well-executed combat that is challenging without being frustrating, along with thoughtful level design that rewards exploration. However, its uninspired, ruined-urban setting holds it back. Even so, it remains a fine choice for genre fans constantly seeking new soulslike experiences.

AI LIMIT is an unusual mashup of familiar solutions that is unlikely to be a big hit, but well worth a look.

Despite its limitations, AI Limit excels at what matters, which is why it's been a pleasant surprise. Obviously, it's not the best soulslike game in the world, nor the most innovative, but it doesn't need to to be as enjoyable as any other.

On the whole, AI LIMIT hits the target it aims for. It is a solid, if somewhat thin, Soulslike with a pleasing anime aesthetic. The combat is fun with a few decent innovations, the narrative is compelling, and the presentation manages to toe the line of being unique while also feeling familiar to its contemporaries. Unfortunately, a few missteps in the enemy design, voice acting, and technical departments hold it back from true greatness. Those that don’t enjoy the genre are unlikely to find that AI LIMIT solves any problem they might have, but those that do will find a fun addition to their collection.

The developers really tried with an exceptionally difficult genre. AI Limit won’t be remembered alongside FromSoftware or Koei Tecmo’s work in the genre, but it’s also by no means a poor effort. It’s like the work that a student who really understands the source material produces. It might only be a shade of the master’s work, but you can’t help but hope they get another swing at it, because they’re on the cusp of breaking out and carving out something brilliant with its own identity.

It's rough around the edges, but there's plenty to like about AI Limit. While its combat may be lacking impact, unique features such as the Frame system and the sync meter keep things interesting. And though it is challenging, some players will undoubtedly like the fact that it's not as hard as most other Soulslikes out there, making it more welcoming to newcomers to the genre.

In the absence of other and more impressive Soulslikes, AI Limit could definitely step in and fill a void. It gets the basics right and even iterates in some enjoyable ways. Fans of sci-fi anime and those bored with gothic fantasy will appreciate AI Limit’s setting and theme. While the combat is nothing special, it’s still undeniably fun, if awfully familiar. In a genre absolutely brimming with better choices, it’s hard to recommend AI Limit, but players coming to it with reasonable expectations will have a good time.

A bland action RPG that doesn't shine in any aspect and loads too much on the only prominent element to make it truly effective and interesting.

While AI Limit offers an accessible soulslike experience with a unique synchronization system and decent early exploration, it ultimately suffers from clunky combat, uninspired world-building, forgettable bosses, and a lack of originality that keeps it from standing out.

There are just too many amazing Soulslike efforts to justify spending a lot of time with AI Limit, but that doesn’t make it a bad game. It has some unique ideas that switch up combat just enough to be interesting, and its anime art style initially impresses. But for seasoned veterans of the genre, it doesn’t provide much of a challenge and mostly feels like a retread. I’m sure there are people out there who have been scarred by Dark Souls and are looking for an entry-level Soulslike to ease them back in, and that’s the kind of individual I’d recommend AI Limit to. They’ll have fun, but it’s a stepping stone to something far more riveting elsewhere.

While the adventure borrows heavily from Bloodborne, Dark Souls, and Stellar Blade, it never quite manages to match them. This is because it feels like more of a tribute act rather than a game that drives the genre forward. As fun as AI Limit is, we’ve seen it all before. However, if you’re craving more of that classic Soulslike gameplay in a slick anime art style that’s always rewarding to play, then there’s still lots of fun to be had in AI Limit.

AI Limit is, at best, an okay Soulslike experience. The combat provides some enjoyable moments, especially when experimenting with different weapons, but the game is ultimately held back by its uninspired world and weak main story. If you’re a die-hard fan of the genre and are willing to overlook its shortcomings, you might find something to enjoy here. But for most players, AI Limit fails to stand out in a sea of better, and now cheaper alternatives.

On a functional level, AI Limit fulfills what it sets out to do and does so with very few hiccups in most regards. Outside of that, it exists as a time capsule of the mechanics that the industry is explicitly moving away from. While imitation can be argued to be the strongest form of flattery, here it feels tacky and it dilutes what ambition the team had in their own right. What is here, is good enough. But there isn't much outside of that.

AI Limit has a cool Sync system and diverse weapons but falls short in story, level design, and balance. Combat shows promise but suffers from poor timing. Only worth it for die-hard Soulslike fans who can grab it at a discount.

AI Limit is a soulslike without any soul, providing 30 mediocre hours of dodge rolling and sword swinging that’s good for little more than filling time. I sliced my way through repetitive goons in unremarkable locations, killed some pushover bosses who were dead before I thought to learn their names, and spent more time recovering from game crashes than learning anything noteworthy about the bland sci-fi setting or the characters within it. The stylish art style, smart Sync Rate system, and swappable abilities are interesting tweaks to the blueprint, but are ultimately too minor to leave much of an impression. If you’re really hurting for more opportunities to scratch that soulslike itch, you could probably do worse than AI Limit, but you could also easily do a whole lot better.

If you are a mud enthusiast, then you’ll find a lot to love about AI Limit and will likely see it through to completion. If, like the rest of us, you’re ambivalent about mud, then AI Limit doesn’t do nearly enough with its combat, nor with its world-building, to keep you playing for long.
