What the game ultimately delivers is a charming, unique debut title from a studio we’re certainly interested to see more of.

A Musical Story mixes the whole 'indie game about feelings' thing with some good, intuitive rhythm-action gameplay and a surprisingly good soundtrack. It might not appeal to the hardcore rhythm-action fans out there but it has enough heart to find itself an audience that won't forget it in a hurry.

While it looks cool, and the music is outstanding, there’s not enough here to keep players chugging along for too long.

Featuring a gorgeous soundtrack and sumptuous visuals, A Musical Story certainly has everything going for it, but the experience as a whole feels as hollow as an acoustic guitar that was played once and never picked up again. Once it’s done, it’s done. And you won’t feel the need to return.

Such a beautiful experience. This rhythm based game takes a new approach to the genre by actually forcing the player to understand the tempoSuch a beautiful experience. This rhythm based game takes a new approach to the genre by actually forcing the player to understand the tempo of the music instead of being told through a direct visual aid when to click (rock band, guitar hero). It’s not that hard though since there is no penalty to messing up and the game will kick in and help you if you miss too many notes. Tells a unique story with stunning visuals that I highly recommend! Full Review »
