    Gave it a 1 because it does run. Most regrettable game purchase I've ever made and i would feel the same at 15$, but this game is 40$ w microtransactions and it doesnt even offer any online matchmaking which is insane. I thought tag team would be fun, good luck finding 3 ppl you already know who were also dumb enough to buy this game.     an sich macht das spiel schon ne gewisse zeit spass aber es langt höchstens nur zu nem couchgame mit kumpels dazu ist es zugaballert mit Microtransactions was den preis für 40 euro nicht rechtfertigt wenn das spiel mal für 20 oder 25 euro zu haben ist könnte man sich das überlegen sich das anzuschaffen

    They spent a lot of time and energy making sure there was an elaborate microtransaction scheme. Gameplay, eh, not so much. It's button-mashing and the same attacks for everybody. 2k should do everyone a favor and relinquish the WWE license so someone else can start making good games with it.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I am not happy I have to be online just to get currency to unlock characters in the store . That is highly unfair . 2k playgrounds 2 did not need this just to earn currency or use the in game character store please fix this . I've just bought the game today and this is very disappointing . And until you fix it I will not play it again as I have no internet at home and no way to acres the store I can't bring my console to my local library to play it on. Also I would like to say that you need internet for everything from buying new characters to customising your own and arenas

    WWE 2K Battlegrounds is just a glorified mobile game, or at least that is how it feels to me. There are a few different modes to choose from, and even a "story" to follow, told through comic strips. Sure it sounds cool, but there isn't enough depth. You are also forced to play as a made up character who isn't the least bit interesting. The gameplay is more fun than the mainline 2K games,WWE 2K Battlegrounds is just a glorified mobile game, or at least that is how it feels to me. It's fun at first, but after a while, it grows tiresome. The CAW suite isn't anything special either, with minimal customization options. There are "sort of" microtransactions here too that make the game feel cheap and mobile-like. I would avoid it all costs, and that's sad since the NBA 2K Playgrounds series is actually decent.… Expand

    A new worst half assed lazy, empty and WWE game from 2K and Saber. What an embarrassment. I hope this trend of **** wwe games continues so one day WWE games die out.

    They obviously spuffed out this title in a few months. Another rushed poor quality WWE game. Unlocking characters and items is a grind due to the implementation of microtransactions.

Don't listen to the lies, but there are microtransactions in the game, but i have no idea why, When everything can be unlocked from a few hours of play. I have played about 3hours and i have unlocked about 1/3 of the game. Its not the best, but playing with your friends with over 130 wrestlersIts not perfect, but its not bad. Yes, you can unlock them by grinding in game, but when a game says it has a roster of contained characters I expect to be able to use all those characters when I fire the game up. Not have to choose between grinding through matches that honestly are already boring after 3-4 plays or paying more money for a superstar I want just to find out that he is gameplay-wise an exact replicant of one that I could already play with.

    Better luck next time 2K, you get a dead zero from me on this one. Can only hope WWE has the sense to move the license soon to a studio that will actually respect the fans and deliver a quality experience like THQ used to.    … Expand

    This game is very fun but I can't give it more than a 7 out of 10 due to the fact that the majority of the wrestlers in the game have to be unlocked which can take a casual gamer at least a week to do so. When the next group of wrestlers are added to the game I will change my score to an 8 out of 10 but for now it's a 7 for me.

    This game is complete trash. The character design is hideous. Just because the gameplay is unrealistic doesn't mean the characters have to look like dwarf weirdos. I'd much rather have characters with realistic proportions than some midget freaks. Who's to say you can't have realistic looking playable characters in an unrealistic game? Just look at Saints Row 4.

    The combat is so boring    This game is complete trash. The character design is hideous. Just because the gameplay is unrealistic doesn't mean the characters have to look like dwarf weirdos.     The combat is so boring and repetitive. When I pay $40, I expect a combat system with depth and detail. All the developers did in this game is put pretty colorful lights during every move, to give players the illusion that the game is fun. None of that was fun for me. So many match types are missing like Ladder, Tables and Elimination Chamber. You can only have up to 4 wrestlers in 1 ring.

    The multiplayer is a complete embarrassment. There isn't even a lobby system. The campaign is a pile of garbage. There is only 1 song that plays during the main menu, and it is awful. The developers were to greedy to give us licensed tracks or make more original music. I don't recommend this joke of a game at all. This should be a free-to-play game.    … Expand

    Good arcadey wrestling fun and a throwback to simpler times for an old gamer like me! I bought this not long after release and have played through roughly half the campaign and most of the online modes including tournament. There’s a lot of content here to keep me going and it’ll be a game to crack out with the lads after a few beers.     The game itself has a pick up play aspect that I enjoy compared to more modern wrestling games which might satisfy the hardcore fan but in fact are quite fiddly. The game mechanics allow you to learn quite quickly with timing being better than just button mashing.    … Expand

    So you have to fight to build up to use other moves It’s an interesting wrestling mechanic but the overall arcade look is amazing. Minor glitches but overall this game is pretty fun. Only thing I don’t like is the system where you can pay for coins. At least give us more coin for our buck

    The microtransactions is a major problem in this game, but the gameplay is solid as it goes. As they say, gameplay first, and this game is polished and can pack in the fun for wrestling fans.

If it was free you could maybe turn a blind eye to the early PS3 era graphics, the repetitive and laughably basic gameplay and the non-existing storyline mode, but even that wouldn't explain how this "game" is both crazy buggy (ruining matches lvl of buggy) and has microtransactions.Long story short, WWE 2K Battlegrounds is ugly, boring and insulting to anyone who decides to pick it up.     This Isn't the best game in the world but it Isn't the worst the moves look great and the controls are decent , it did become pretty boring pretty quickly tho, the campaign is interesting with a good story, the storytelling is done with a comic book style which i do not mind, overall 6 /10

    What an unnecessary game. I really don't know why did they made a game like this. The fighting part does not resemble wwe at all. And why did they model the wrestlers like an adult baby? The modeling part alone says "we made a lousy game but changed the modeling and gameplay so that we can persuade some players to buy it and earn extra money." Definitely don't buy this game.

    I got this free on Playstation network and it is terrible. I have many happy memories of old Wrestling games and hoped this might atleast have a nostalgia hit. But it did not even manage that. There are no entrances, unique movesets or fun diverse characters to try. The first problem is all the characters have the same moves.     I got this as part of PS+ essential for no cost and it still feels too expensive.

    The performance is like a slide-show at times, the idea of character archetypes is clumsily implemented, there is little difference in controlling different characters.     WWE 2K Battlegrounds is a fun arcade wrestling game, far different than the sim we know and love (or hate). Its got tons of different modes, arenas and wrestlers to choose from, each with his own special abilities and signature moves. Some moves are missing, its got a lot of bugs and the micro-transaction ruin your progression, but it doesn't change the fact that this game is fun, and it doesn't need to be anything else.
