While I was skeptical at first, World of Warships has made the transition to consoles better than I thought possible, and is a blast to play.

Even skippers used to playing the PC version might want to give the PS4 version a look. It has been built from the ground up in order to leverage the processing and graphics power of modern consoles, and far more content is available from the get-go. If you want to skip the process of upgrading your ships and waiting to unlock more of the fleet that the free-to-play version has, you can opt to just buy the entire fleet all at once for a fixed price.

Although I still do follow the World of Warships PC scene, I find more pleasure in comfort of the ‘lightweight’ console version. Especially now, with crossplay between PS4 and Xbox One which guarantees quick matchmaking either in standard or ranked battles. [01/2020, p.72]

Overall, the gameplay design for World of Warships Legends is simplistic, though complicated underneath the hood. The game doesn’t do anything special to magnify its intentions, but it does keep the process smooth and uninterrupted by not overcomplicating how you play. It wants you to feel like you’re playing a moving version of Battleship, but insists on taking all the potential PC obstacles out of the way. It just simply wants you to have fun, and it achieves that in the most uncomplicated and uninterrupted way. While most people might be turned off by the pay part of the game, there is still fun to be had here.

World of Warships is unfortunately a very good game. It is balanced and offers a varied and strategically interesting experience. It's unfortunate, because with its mercantile elements it will empty your wallet as quick as a shipwreck. It is up to the player and his conscience to make the difference. If you have friends with whom to play and organize in cooperative plays, it's even worse. Anyway, it's like the dealer ... The first dose is free, so what's the problem in trying ?

Wargaming and its ‘World of’ franchise have turned military vehicle combat into a fun, popular, and extremely lucrative series of games that are very well done. Most of the time, I’m usually done with games once my review is over and it’s a real testament to the playability of a game if it stays in my heavy rotation. Legends has earned that spot as one of the games that I’m going to continue to enjoy at least semi-regularly for the next little while… or until I run face first into that paywall and my interest wanes. Hopefully, I’ll get a solid run out of World of Warships: Legends before I get priced out.

As the game only came out on PS4 today other reviewers must be basing their comments on their experience with the PC version and as suchAs the game only came out on PS4 today other reviewers must be basing their comments on their experience with the PC version and as such should be putting their comment on the PC review not giving an in depth analysis on that version aiming to negatively effect the PS4 version on its launch day.

Played World of warships all evening and had a lot of fun with it, there’s a players vs bots mode to give you a chance to learn the ropes before jumping into PVP. The combat is great, trying to outsmart players is even better.

Ok a couple of things could be better, torpedos seem to thud against the hull and deduct damage but no impact gfx. It will be a massive grind to reach top tier unless willing to pay. Boosters help but again you need to pay once the few freebies run out.

I still give it a 9 though, we’ll worth playing

The game is fun but the developer continuously makes questionable choices.

This game is very fun, and unique. Naval combat genre is limited and legends fills a field of few
choice, most of them old or poor quality. The primary challenge you will face is the design and game changes the developers make that at headstrong and tone deaf, against the player base's tastes and desires, and changes the game's direction and entire feel.

At times the game will feel rudderless, with changes made that make a class of ship you may have invested a lot of time climbing the xp ladder for. The change may make that entire class of ship unplayable for a time, or change the game experience so radically that you no longer enjoy the gameplay, and you will feel like you have wasted a lot of time and money.

Any purchases you make in the game for ships may be made suddenly unhappy ones as game design changes makes that ship no longer relevant to the game. With the price per ship being the price of an entire other game, it makes you feel cheated to have your ship become crippled or obsolete.

I would not invest heavily in this game monetarily.

Let's talk about the ship types:

Battleships: By far the easiest class to play, they have large health pools, heals, and are very tough.
The best choice to start out with.

Cruisers: Lighter armor, less powerful guns, and more challenging to play. Natural predator of the Destroyer.

Destroyers: The ninja warriors, they attack unseen, and can kill a battleship with torpedoes. Very satisfying to do given the small size, but the natural prey of cruisers and carriers.

Aircraft carriers: The hardest ship class to play, it rewards long skill investment and practice.

Overall, the most enjoyable class is the Battleship, everything else being personal choice and desire for further challenge.

    Summary:

The game fills an empty void, and as pretty much the only game in town, they are the market leader. The game is fun and enjoyable.

The Pros are naval warfare at a fast pace, with an arcade feel.

The cons are a developer that does what it wants, with little to no care for the player base. They will make radical and severe changes that turn the game on it's head.

I would wholly recommend you try this game, as it's fun. I would however caution you
from investing in the game heavily.

A fun but disposable free to play game, that survives solely by being in a limited competition market.

I have played World of warships of PC when it came out for PS4 I was interested. At first it wasn't so bad it was a smaller part of the PCI have played World of warships of PC when it came out for PS4 I was interested. At first it wasn't so bad it was a smaller part of the PC copy. less ships more balanced. latter that all changed not because they started adding more ships but because they added an auto aim to some of the ships. At the beginning all the ships required a bit of skill to lead and hit a target. However, recently they changed this adding to the Destroyer class practically an auto aim. It shows you exactly were to aim and a destroyer will get a hit almost every time. For some ships that wouldn't necessarily be too bad, not good, but not too bad. The destroyer class you see is vary hard to see and can fire without being seen and on top of that unlike every other ship were you can see the shots across the map the torpedos from the destroyers can't be seen till it is too late for most ships. So now there is an unequal amount of destroyers playing because it is so OP. This needs to be addressed before the game become enjoyable to play. Also, there is a significant pay wall to acquire some ships and proper captains for ships. To acquire a captain for your ship of the class you need you have to gamble, that's right gamble with real money to have a chance to acquire a captain for the class of ship you want to use it on. This is a pay to win hands down game. Expand
