    Seriously what hapend to this franchise?? The first game was an absolute FPS madhouse adventure, with a beautiful love story and it just gone down hill to propaganda junk and combat that just feels spammy and shallow , like a COD single player Campaign,.

    Dull, uninspired, and just not fun anymore. Absolutely painful to see the franchise come to this screeching halt, and I'm sad to see that if it does continue, I don't think it will ever be the same for the better after this... Please god don't let them do this to Doom.

    i really didn't want to believe the reviews and after the first hour of playing I thought they were wrong, however the longer you play this game you realise the user reviews are bang on.     There was issues with me trying to play with my cousin, so we both had to do solo and the twins we play as are not bad at all but they grow so annoying and unrealistic after like an hour of gameplay and the damn elevator scenes are so cringe and just gets worse and worse as the games go on.
    The game play is fine, the graphics looks like the same from the previous game and i like the kinda interconnected world but the writing and the story is so bad that takes away from the world its trying to build.

    and Oh i forgot about the microtransactions. I never see the point why single players game do this and if this is not clearing enough to prove that this game is a pure cash grab, i don't know what will    … Expand

    Game mechanics are worse than before - stealth is broken to a distinctive level, there are HEALTH BARS over the enemy heads which completely kills the mood in shooting the spongy nazis. One of the best things in the main series is the flow when you shoot and kill an enemy. It felt so smooth and soft. Now its like Borderlands or some other type of game which is not cool at all.
    The enemy AI is dumb as hell and that is a major no-no. The sister that helps is somehow not on point with whats happening and feels pretty unnatural roaming around you just doin nothing.
    The simple first person story driven shooter is transformed into a semi RPG with so many unnecessary gun modifications and no story at all...
    Its not what I expected and the SJW Cringe is not helping at all to make me like it even a bit.
    Sorry Machinegames, focus on the next major WS and try to do better pleasing the fans of the series and the new gamers that will jump on the old ones cuz of the new one. Pleasing the feminists is not helping your case in the game industry :    … Expand

    A different take on the new Wolfenstein games. The influence of Arkane Studios is evident here in the level design, which features many interconnecting corridors and buildings with fully built out interiors. The fundamental gameplay loop reminded me of Shadow Warrior 2. You're sent repeatedly to several hub areas to complete various quests, and level up your weapons and abilities. It'sA different take on the new Wolfenstein games. The influence of Arkane Studios is evident here in the level design, which features many interconnecting corridors and buildings with fully built out interiors. The fundamental gameplay loop reminded me of Shadow Warrior 2. You're sent repeatedly to several hub areas to complete various quests, and level up your weapons and abilities. It's repetitive and grindy, but the decent combat system helps here.

    The story and characters are pretty awful and cringy. I liked the advancement system in this game, as you can build out your character endlessly, and the enemy power level scales to compensate.

    I didn't mind this game, but overall there are much better FPS titles you should be playing first.    … Expand

    Broken co-op, nonfunctional AI, poor micro transactions, incomprehensible story (not in a good Japanese way), broken stealth, bad dialogue and general bullet sponge enemies. Not a game for me, pretty though.

    Game is good but not great. Split screen is really missing in Co-Op game for two people. I bought it because I wanted to play locally like Call of Duty or Borderlands. This game is ment for two people and your only option is internet connection. That's sad. 3/10 ( with split screen it should be like 7/10 because it can add a lot of fun )

Im shooting these nazi guys with no armor in the face for a solid 5 seconds with a machine gun and they dont even die. Every soldier has a god damn healthbar over their head to indicate their health status - and what ammo to use on them for maximum efficiency.

    Its like they tried to turn Wolfenstein into a grindy looter shooter with microtransactions it. These Anthem-style looter shooters are ruining gaming for everyone.

    The characters you play as are not good either - I dont care that they are women - I love tomb raider and I loved senuas sacrifice too. But these characters are flat, boring and cringy. The main character models in this game don't even look good (no, not like the women are ugly - the models are poorly made). Everything about this game feels bellow average quality. Gun play is still good but completely destroyed by the endless grinding.

    Oh and also, you cant pause the game - even if your playing by yourself. I got stuck on one of the first levels in this game cause obviously I need to grind in the side missions to progress. I just refuse to put up with that. This RPG, grindy, bullet sponge gameplay has no place in a Wolfenstein game.

    Stay away from this game, even if your a hardcore Wolfenstein fan like me    … Expand

    There is some fun to be had playing Wolfenstein style combat with a friend. However the game feels like it's doing everything in its power to undercut its own potential. The open world and live service elements are terrible. The leveling system is such a bad addition. The game is a blatant attempt to force the Wolfenstein fanbase onto the live service hamster wheel.     This is pathetic SJ pandering. It's barely a Wolfenstein game and rather a looter shooter wannabe. I would not recommend it at all. I spent 8 hours in the game, and I'm done. I just wished I didn't buy the digital version because I would have sold the disk within minutes.

    Awful. It's not for Wolfenstein fans, it's cheap, pretty much no story, worst characters I ever seen, stupid jokes, awful "RPG elements" with enemies level, backtracking to make game seem bigger. Ughh... Bethesda was one of my favorite publishers, but after the last few games, I'm starting to really hate them.

    I wish I could get my money back. This is the worst game I have played in years. No pause. Terrible partner AI in solo gameplay ... but the AI is required to make progress. Then if you die, way back to the beginning of the episode.

    The weapons are weak, the enemies either very weak or way too strong at any given time.

    The game starts up and is objectively playable. That’s the only nice thing I can say about the game, everything else —graphics to gameplay— is frustratingly disappointing and lackluster.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is an insult to the fans of Wolfenstein and to the fans of videogames in general.

    The gameplay is horrid. Every enemy is such a bullet sponge it's impossible to play on anything but easy, and even then you get zero exciteent out of it. You are encouraged to invest in garbage micro transactions. All the coop interactions are exhausted at endless doors that can only be opened together. The main campaign is short but the developers try to s**t out hours of content by shoehorning in copy-pasted "side missions" where you kill the same spongy enemies over again.

    The story is even worse than gameplay - instead of the charismatic Blaskowitz you play as his two mentally slow daughters who constantly crack cringeworthy terrible jokes and act as Beavis and Butthead. Each of their lines will make your ears bleed, but the elevator bits take the cake for the most awful embarassing cutscenes I have ever seen. The amount of feminist SJW crap, that already started to leak in WF2, is overwhelming here. The game skips around 20 years from New Colossus, which doesn't make any sense, and even worse, they kill Hitler off-screen. The final "twist" when you finally find Blaskowitz is as stupid as everything that comes before it, and by the point you make it there you just wish the campaign would finally end.

    It is appalling how Bethesda had two such great studios at their disposal - Machine Games and Arkane - which excelled at creating very different games, and forced them to work together to create this (Wolfen)Frankenstein monster of a game which is infinitely worse than any of their previous projects. I hope that whoever greenlit and wrote this disgusting piece of trash will get fired.    … Expand

    can we get at least a set of characters that takes the job seriously? doing A joke now and then is cool but cracking really bad and cheap "jokes" all the time or dancing in the elevator is not going to cut it.. also what the hell is that helmet?     The gameplay is bad enough, but I couldn't stand any of the characters. Especially the two sisters because the cringe is worse than anything I've ever experienced. I have a brother and a sister, and playing wolfen-cringe was too much for me. The only explanation is that both sisters are brain damaged from when their mom was six months pregnant fighting on the front lines.

    The Playable characters are embarrassing to watch, the missions are mindless and repetitive, you will often find your self revisiting areas of the map half a dozen times to complete the most empty soulless quests you could possibly imagine. This game does the bare minimum to engage and entertain whilst putting the maximum amount of effort into frustrating you and they still have the bloody nerve to charge you ridiculous amounts of money for these crappy low effort skins. The games boss fights are completely broken, along with the brain dead AI that's supposed to be assisting you and will often glitch and let you die right in front of her instead of reviving you. Gameplay in general is an absolute chore to say the least as every enemy you encounter has specific armour types that can only be effectively damaged with specific weapons and ammo types which means you would have to CONSTANTLY keep switching weapons almost everytime you encounter a foe and it is so frustrating. Oh yeah and if an enemy AI is just 1 or 2 levels above you you WILL die instantly and sometimes these higher level enemies cant always be avoided as you will need to skirt one area to get to another. This is an abhorrent addition to the much beloved Wolfenstein franchise. This is a do not buy.    … Expand

    Whether or not you enjoy Wolfenstein: Youngblood is going to depend on a lot of factors. If you loved the previous games for their narrative depth, linear story, and simplified gameplay, this might be a tough sell for you. Youngblood is still fundamentally Wolfenstein in almost every way that matters but, like its rookie heroines, it’s a little unpolished and rough around the edges. If you’re looking for something new, innovative, and daring, and can overlook a few flaws (some more glaring than others) then it’s time to suit up, gear up, and once again prove that the only good Nazi is a dead one.

    Even if you only want to do the main missions and enough side-content to level up sufficiently, you’ll get at least ten to 12 hours of play. What’s interesting is the endgame, providing daily and weekly challenges, and allowing you to replay missions for extra XP. Solo this will become tiring, but with a friend? Any excuse to kill Nazis is a good excuse. [Issue#166, p.79]

    At $30, I expected a short but dense Wolfenstein experience with two new protagonists and a tangible narrative thread connecting them to the original games, their father B.J. Blazkowicz. What we got was a horrible imitation of the rest of the series, complete with an absolutely senseless plot, unacceptably bad and annoying characters, and joyless combat. I find that a weak plot can be forgiven if gameplay is flawless and satisfying, and sometimes weaker gameplay can be ignored in favor of an incredible story, but you cannot botch BOTH aspects and expect people to like your game.
