    Generally pointless and the view point is so bad that causes sickness. However, there where one or two stories mildly interesting. In the end, the stories made them a family and the same stories kills them. Forever reason, the way stories reaches their conclusions are always forced, so in that sense not recommend to whoever wishing for a coherent story, but the general narrative is alright.

    The game is really beautiful and unique, and each story has its own charm. It's one of the first so-called "walking simulator" games I've played, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I totally recommend giving a try, even though the only con I find is the duration of it (it takes about 2-3 hours to complete a full playthrough).

    it interesting game …. or not (I mean its not a "game" its interactive story what u sink by playing it). It kinda short but on my mind it not a weakness it strong part of this story (or story collections of mystery family called Finch).

    A unique and unmatched experience in any game so far, also a manifestation of how powerful indie games can be. The intriguing, suspenseful story is smoothly woven into its creative and versatile gameplay. Surprises and wow moments are intensely placed during the 2 hour journey. Among the highlights, the fish chopping scene is one of the most memorable moments in gaming.

This game is very fun and very relaxing with a couple high intensity moments like when Molly turns into all the creatures or Barbara’s comic, and was easier to play for someone like me who is very bad with hand eye coordination. It had a lot of fun moments where you get to kind of just mess around like parts of the cannery dream or the kite scene.… Expand

    It has a great story, but I could see why some people would not give the same rating. It could have better replayability. I really liked how they did the credits, great idea. I reccomend it to anyone who is a fan of singleplayer.

    I love walking sims, my favourites being Gone Home and Everybody's Gone to the Rapture but this one just didn't do it for me. Gone Home is actually quite close to Edith Finch in approach: a big house you slowly unlock doors in to uncover a story told to the player. I was quite excited to play this game considering the glowing reviews so imagine my surprise if, after 4 hours of ... well,I love walking sims, my favourites being Gone Home and Everybody's Gone to the Rapture but this one just didn't do it for me. Gone Home is actually quite close to Edith Finch in approach: a big house you slowly unlock doors in to uncover a story told to the player. I was quite excited to play this game considering the glowing reviews so imagine my surprise if, after 4 hours of ... well, walking ... the game ends and I'm left feeling "meh".

    Gone Home was a masterful example of how to drip a story to the player - you get to know a girl and slowly get emotionally engaged, reading about her good and bad times and in the end you really care what happens to her.

    WRoEF takes a very different approach. You wander through a house, not getting to know anyone but several generations of your own family ... superficially. Very superficially. It all revolves around a family with a curse where most family members die really early in life (not a spoiler by the way - on the main menu you can see a family tree with all the dates which gives it away from the start) and the whole game you basically uncover how each family member died.

    It sounds cool but you quickly discover that most of these stories and characters are not that interesting. You got an army kid, a hunter, a kid who loves space, a kid actress, etc. It adds variation but since the game doesn't actually let you connect to these characters, they fall flat when it comes to engagement so it all stands or falls on the merits of the stories themselves and out of a dozen, perhaps 3 are actually good. The game often lets you play a kind of mini-game while exploring these stories but not even that can save what feels like a dozen disconnected stories.

    In the end, I expected there to be some grand reveal that ties it all together but ... no. There is a bit of a twist but nothing grand and again, because you don't really get to know anyone, it doesn't quite work.

    Now, when it comes to how it treats its characters, it's a lot more like Everybody's Gone to the Rapture - that game had a ton of characters you didn't learn much about but the entire game didn't revolve around an emotional connection but rather around solving a mystery. Here in WRoEF, the mystery never gets answered so it leaves you hanging.

    On top of that, the game was impossible to play during day time: it was WAY too dark for no reason at all. Even turning up the brightness, I had to wait till the late afternoon before I could even see half the stuff on my screen.

    If you can get it for free or for €1-2, I'd say give it a go. It only takes 4 hours to "complete" and has zero replay value so the price of a second hand book seems about OK.    … Expand

    Wow! As far as "walking simulators" go, this is one of the very best. Beautiful visuals with an extremely engaging story. Also, can easily be beat in a single sitting.

    An anti-game, an ungame. A 2-hour's worth of an interactive non-entertaining piece of entertainment that won't let you play it as a game and a movie that won't let you watch itself.

    It is one of those games that Sony gave for free with the PlayStation Plus subscription and that I didn’t care to play until I had nothing else on my plate, and to my surprise it is an excellent game. You can finish it in 3 hours, give or take, but it is worth any penny you pay for it (should you had paid for it).

    The plot tells us about a pregnant woman Edith Finch whose goal is to create a diary for her child about her siblings and parents, and every time before you interact with    What remains of Edith Finch is magnificent.

    The plot tells us about a pregnant woman Edith Finch whose goal is to create a diary for her child about her siblings and parents, and every time before you interact with the memory to write to your diary you see a unique story of every family member and what happened to them ( what killed or caused death ), and I’ve gotta admit that every story of her relatives is very interesting and visually done at great level.But from every story my favorite is Lewises story, that shows his mental issues and it has the best direction and visual design amongst all the stories.
    Soundtrack is good but I’ve only remembered main theme of the game, but still soundtrack completes atmosphere of locations and sometimes it can be really dramatic, and just hide the fright of situation ( like in Gregoris story ).

    Is more like a movie where you need to move main character. You watch many well-drawn stories and locations, some of them interesting, other boring. Visuals are strong side of that "game". Unfortunately gamer has nothing to do here. You cannot make any choices, cannot save anyone or at least unravel mystery. Ending is very disappointing. Game is short what here becomes a plus.     This is such a beautiful game, if anything I’ve played should be considered a pice of art then this is it. Edith Finch is essential an exploration game with a deep and moving story about a family’s tragic history which is told though interesting little gameplay segments, each one different to the last. It’s only a few hours long and definitely worth getting if you haven’t played it.

Very impressed by the story of Edith’s cousin, who went to canary, the game forces the player to operate both hands and one tedious, repetitive and the other one navigating over the map. How brilliant this is! It captures the frustration of the cousinQuirky but make sense. Not a lot of control but also unlike Detroit, the gameplay control feels like integrated into the story telling. Увы, возможно у Вас будет другая концовка, но у меня игра оборвалась и остались вопросы.     If you bought or considering buying this game then you are doing so for the story and that is exactly what you get. A really nicely written, subtle story about life and death and the inevitability of it all. Don't run from death or fear it, just live your life. Absolutely loved it and throughly enjoyed the 3 hours playing it. Getting 100% trophies was easy...where is my platinum lol.

    A truly unique game. I had played it because it was free on PS Plus. I enjoyed every bit of it. And this is coming from a person that doesn't really play these sorts of indie like, short games. It is a simple plot with many moments that are truly magnificent and awe inspiring. I had to think some things twice to realise their greatness. What remains of Edith Finch leidet aber leider an Unterkomplexität. Sehr schade, weil ich mir von dem Spiel deutlich mehr erhofft hatte. Die wenigen Gameplay Elemente, die mal gut, mal weniger gut funktionieren, helfen dem Projekt leider auch kaum über die Mittelmäßigkeit. Also, viel Hype um Nichts. Selbst populäre Teenie Adventures wie Life is Strange bieten da komplexere Psychologie und Spieltiefe.… Expand

    I played this game without knowing what to expect, and it's basic if you want to enjoy it how the developers intended you to do. This is a game to end in a day, think about it a couple days and forget it so you can replay it in a couple years and reminisce the feelings.

So incredibly creative and immersive and captivating. The story is tragic, dark, beautiful and heartfelt all at the same time. It is short, so don't expect the experience to last very long.     Slow paced walk-sim. The main story is actually quite interesting. The game's premise sounds good too: here is this huge, abandoned mansion, explore it, and learn about the family's dark history.

    Sometimes there is actual 3d interaction with the surroundings, other times you are reading a letter, or skimming through a comic book.

    Anyway... it's a "press X, and read" game for the most part.

    I don't regret buying this game. Is it on sale, and you don't have it yet? Go for it. But I will not fire it up again to see the parts I missed the first time I played.    … Expand

Non mandare a letto senza cena i bambini, non viziarli e non illuderli, non mettere altalene in posti pericolosi, non andare a caccia di cervi, non lasciare i neonati a fare il bagnetto da soli, non avere una sega elettrica in casa, non lavorare in fabbriche di pesci in scatola... Insomma avere una vita sana e socialmente normale basta e avanza per non fare una brutta fine.

    As a pure exercise to demonstrate in how many different ways a videogame can make use of different narrative techniques this is a master piece. As a videogame it's just a mediocre walking simulator with clunky controls, predictable ending and weird tone.

    A masterpiece of an indie game, What Remains of Edith Finch is a big contender for my favorite game of all time with its amazing story and beautiful soundtrack. A mustily for all fans of story driven games.

    The only thing I can knock this game for, is the controls. While minimal, I'm not a huge fan of "simulating" actions. I want a button to turn the page, I don't want to move the joystick to the right and then left to simulate the action. Swinging on the swings is fine. But I was having issue turning the page, since I'd go too fast and it would fall back down, accidently added too much upward push on the joystick. It was annoying. Other than that, everything else was spot on. I thought it dealt with mental disorders in a neat and non-patronising way and also simulated them well enough in the framework of the narrative. Especially that one part where you have to do two very different actions at once. HIGHLY recommend it. It's one of those that you can show to non-gamers and they'd get something out of it, if the subject matter suits them.    … Expand

I think I only scratched the surface of this game and I would love to play it once more to get the full grasp of its story, as even the rooms and objects in them have a story to tell.     Haven't had a game's story grip me like this in a while. The premise is so unique and amazing and the the heartbreaking stories unfold in some of the most creative ways I've ever seen in a video game. It's really short and there's not much gameplay as you're more of a passenger through the game; but it'll stick with you after playing it.

    Beautiful and unique experience. I thought this game was going to be like depressive but it was not. Nostalgic, heartwarming, sometimes heartbreaking, and overall this game felt very human.

By visiting the house, you'll unlock several separate game section which will tell you the story of one of your relatives.     The game is completely linear and there is no difficulty, you just need to walk and follow the story. It takes around two hours to be ended and don't really have any replayability, unless you want to go for achievements, which will add one hour at the most. While the plot is interesting, it's just a little, dark and cryptic story around a family that will certainly make you think, but I feel that it isn't so deep and don't convey any particular message.

    I played this game for "free" through the Playstation Extra subscription, and I was positevely entertained for the short time needed to play it, but I wouldn't be so happy about it if I had to pay real money, so I believe that whoever is interested in playing this needs to consider that it's super short and that you mostly watch the game and move in a linear path, but in case you are still interested, you will probably enjoy the experience!    … Expand

But unless its gameplay mechanics or story is a personal preference for the player, it does not achieve that extra something which can make it a solid "good" (7/10) game. Though I don't think it ever aims to achieve that, and it's completely OK because I think creating an artistic indie game is not about aiming for the top quality game-development goals in every aspect.     An immersive story that engages in compelling storytelling and narrative. However, some of the stories of the characters told here are lackluster, and there are moments where boredom sets in and the game becomes somewhat of a drag. Overall it's a strong game with a cool and unique concept but it doesn't always execute its concept to its full potential.

    É até injusto chama-lo de um jogo, seria muito mais parecido com um livro interativo daqueles da decada de 90 (inclusive referenciado dentro do game).
