    This is such a beautiful game, if anything I’ve played should be considered a pice of art then this is it. Edith Finch is essential an exploration game with a deep and moving story about a family’s tragic history which is told though interesting little gameplay segments, each one different to the last. It’s only a few hours long and definitely worth getting if you haven’t played it.

    If you're into that type of games you will probably give it a 9 or a 10, but honestly I don't play this type of games a lot but even tho, I give it an 8. the gameplay is simple you will use joysticks and another button only.     This could possibly be the best indie game ever made. (Either this or Journey.) This game is deep, impactful, emotional, introspective, nuanced, atmospheric, beautiful, haunting, incredibly well written, has stellar voice acting and an incredible artistic direction. Definitely a game more mature people will like.

    Jogos que te colocam não como um player mas como alguem que está inserido na historia. Que ta fazem sentir e se emocionar.
    É até injusto chama-lo de um jogo, seria muito mais parecido com um livro interativo daqueles da decada de 90 (inclusive referenciado dentro do game).

    It is one of those games that Sony gave for free with the PlayStation Plus subscription and that I didn’t care to play until I had nothing else on my plate, and to my surprise it is an excellent game. You can finish it in 3 hours, give or take, but it is worth any penny you pay for it (should you had paid for it).

    (10) Outstanding. A truly elite title that is nearly perfect in every way. This score is given out rarely and indicates a game that cannot be missed.

    This game revolves you digging into a family’s past, filled with death. Each story of a family member is unique, moving and immersive. I’ve replayed this game quite a few times throughout the years since its release. There is very little gameplay so if you just want to watch it instead, go right ahead.     The plot tells us about a pregnant woman Edith Finch whose goal is to create a diary for her child about her siblings and parents, and every time before you interact with    What remains of Edith Finch is magnificent.
    Developers from Giant Sparrow have done an incredible job to mixing up Visual Novel and Action Adventure game elements, and combining them into one unforgettable experience.
    The plot tells us about a pregnant woman Edith Finch whose goal is to create a diary for her child about her siblings and parents, and every time before you interact with the memory to write to your diary you see a unique story of every family member and what happened to them ( what killed or caused death ), and I’ve gotta admit that every story of her relatives is very interesting and visually done at great level.But from every story my favorite is Lewises story, that shows his mental issues and it has the best direction and visual design amongst all the stories.
    Soundtrack is good but I’ve only remembered main theme of the game, but still soundtrack completes atmosphere of locations and sometimes it can be really dramatic, and just hide the fright of situation ( like in Gregoris story ).

    I loved this. As I am just getting into games, this was perfect for me. Interesting, well-paced, fairly easy to navigate as a newbie, and the story unfolded beautifully. Highly recommend.

    Beautiful and unique experience. I thought this game was going to be like depressive but it was not. Nostalgic, heartwarming, sometimes heartbreaking, and overall this game felt very human.

O melhor jogo desse gênero de exploração e mistério, possui uma variedade de cenários, cenas e jogabilidades únicas para cada ocasião onde nos mostra a história dos personagens da casa. O que mais me chocou foi a do menino que queria virar astronauta, onde ele se balança num balanço a ponto de ser lançado para o mar e morrer, onde nós na jogatina, estamos na visão em primeira pessoa do menino, para dar uma imersão e sentir o que ele sentiu antes de morrer. O maior e único defeito desse jogo, é o tempo, parece que passa muito rápido, poderiam ter aumentado o tamanho do jogo, dando mais espaço para personagens que foram apresentados na história, mas não tiveram seu "tempo de tela"!… Expand

    Haven't had a game's story grip me like this in a while. The premise is so unique and amazing and the the heartbreaking stories unfold in some of the most creative ways I've ever seen in a video game. It's really short and there's not much gameplay as you're more of a passenger through the game; but it'll stick with you after playing it.

    A unique and unmatched experience in any game so far, also a manifestation of how powerful indie games can be. The intriguing, suspenseful story is smoothly woven into its creative and versatile gameplay. Surprises and wow moments are intensely placed during the 2 hour journey. Among the highlights, the fish chopping scene is one of the most memorable moments in gaming.

I don't want to hear your fauxlisophical nonsense from your zero life experience to draw from. I just want to play a game. It was a great story, actually brought tears to my eyes. I like depressing things, seek them out in movies. If it ends in a tragedy, I'm a happy customer.

    The only thing I can knock this game for, is the controls. While minimal, I'm not a huge fan of "simulating" actions. I want a button to turn the page, I don't want to move the joystick to the right and then left to simulate the action. Swinging on the swings is fine. But I was having issue turning the page, since I'd go too fast and it would fall back down, accidently added too much upward push on the joystick. It was annoying. Other than that, everything else was spot on. I thought it dealt with mental disorders in a neat and non-patronising way and also simulated them well enough in the framework of the narrative. Especially that one part where you have to do two very different actions at once. HIGHLY recommend it. It's one of those that you can show to non-gamers and they'd get something out of it, if the subject matter suits them.    … Expand

    Morale della favola? Non mandare a letto senza cena i bambini, non viziarli e non illuderli, non mettere altalene in posti pericolosi, non andare a caccia di cervi, non lasciare i neonati a fare il bagnetto da soli, non avere una sega elettrica in casa, non lavorare in fabbriche di pesci in scatola... Insomma avere una vita sana e socialmente normale basta e avanza per non fare una brutta fine.

    Dive into an immersive drama told by whom is left of Finch family.

    I've been playing my back catalogue of games since we all have more time and Edith Finch drew me in and I played it in one sitting. I really appreciate the way they told this story and the ending was something I didn't see coming. You can miss so much in this game and that's what makes the exploration and attention to detail is so great!

    A truly unique game. I had played it because it was free on PS Plus. I enjoyed every bit of it. And this is coming from a person that doesn't really play these sorts of indie like, short games. It is a simple plot with many moments that are truly magnificent and awe inspiring. I had to think some things twice to realise their greatness.     Proof that "walking simulators" can be stylish and properly utilize the medium, unlike the hollow, pretentious nonsense of Dear Esther and Gone Home. The cannery stage is my personal highlight of this game as quite possibly the best gameplay representation of spacing out at work.

    If you bought or considering buying this game then you are doing so for the story and that is exactly what you get. A really nicely written, subtle story about life and death and the inevitability of it all. Don't run from death or fear it, just live your life. Absolutely loved it and throughly enjoyed the 3 hours playing it. Getting 100% trophies was easy...where is my platinum lol.

    These game has some minor misfires here and there. The overall art direction could have been more distinct (now it's not that photorealistic to be emotional and not that stylised to be beautiful).     But it's all nitpicks. I would play this game simply for Lewis Finch level. It's pure genius. Mesmerizing to the level of The Shadow of the Colossus. Wow. Showing mental illness through gameplay and doing it beautifully. Applause.

    But this game has not only this level. The house is legitimately creepy. The overall philosophical implications of stories we tell ourselves is nicely weaved in the plot. The overall level structure is creative and works well. And this game is not afraid to tackle sensitive topics walking the edge of staying tasteful. It was free on PS Plus a few months ago; I’d added it to the library and ignored it. I knew nothing about the game and passed it by thinking it was just another dull walking simulator. How wrong I was!
    I was going through a bit of a gaming drought one Sunday. Flicking through the PS Plus library I stumbled across Edith Finch and decided I’d give it a quick look.
    Within 10 minutes of loading the game I was absolutely hooked, drawn in by the fantastic, surreal visuals and intrigued by the fascinating narrative. Edith Finch starts like any other walking/exploration game. You walk through a forest area; admire the plants and trees, the lighting and water effects; it’s all very nice, but familiar. Then suddenly as the protagonist begins to narrate her journey, bright text appears on the screen like a book coming to life. Things are getting interesting. Next I walk through a clearing in the forest to be greeted by the Finch house. A strange, dreamlike structure that defies the laws of physics (and building regulations) yet feels believable. On first glance it appears to be a normal large house, but something is off, unnatural. I scan my eyes across the structure and notice rooms eerily stacked upon each other forming turret like structures high above the main house. What are they? What’s inside them? My imagination is running wild, barely ten minutes into the game.
    I get comfortable on the couch, I want to see more. I walk towards the house and notice a giant metal snake resting in a pond. On closer inspection it appears to be a slide. It looks like an abandoned theme park attraction. But why is it here? Edith uncannily answers my thoughts, declaring her Grandmother told her that the snake killed her Grandfather.
    I eventually get inside the house by squeezing through a dog door. The house feels uncomfortable, it clearly holds secrets. Many of the doors are sealed and the rooms beyond can only initially be viewed by looking through a spy hole. Further exploration leads to discovering secret tunnels and hatches that take me into each room within the house. Once inside I search each authentic room that belonged to a family member who passed away. Eventually I get to discover how they died. And this is where things get really interesting, because you play the character up to the point of their death. These sequences are often surreal. They do not show the actual event but bring to life the over exaggerated story behind their death.
    I don’t want to give anything away but these sequences are some of the most impactful, artistic, moving and beautiful sequences I’ve ever seen in a game.
    And this is where I will stop. I went in with no knowledge of the game, and I feel this is the best way to play Edith Finch. Discover it on your own.
    The game is beautifully crafted with a narrative you will not forget. This is one of those games you will talk about when discussing the greatest games ever made.

    Honestly this is the best "walking simulator" up to date. Great story, amazing atmosphere and fun minigames that progress the story. One of the best gaming experiences I've had.

    A remarkable and memorable experience. It distinguishes itself from other narrative- focused game by actually allowing the player to explore, and having unique gameplay in each chapter. This creates the feeling, not of a game that wishes it were a film, but of a game reveling in being a game. Highly recommended.

    The game is really beautiful and unique, and each story has its own charm. It's one of the first so-called "walking simulator" games I've played, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I totally recommend giving a try, even though the only con I find is the duration of it (it takes about 2-3 hours to complete a full playthrough).

    Very cool story. It forces to think about a lot of things. It's great that it's short. Today among all that 100+ hours open worlds it's a breath of fresh air. Recommend to all for sure!

    Hory Shet! what an amazing game, I Love It! I didn't expect much, but the second I started playing this game I was hooked emotionally and aesthetically! I hate walking sims but trust me this one is special. The house was so weirdly designed, that it was so interesting..I wished it was a house i could've lived in, especially as a kid. For what this game did it was a masterpiece, even the cons which some people say the game is too short, I think this game was perfect in length.. a little longer and i might've been fatigued of the gameplay/walking loop.     What Remains of Edith Finch is mostly a narrative experience, though it does have some interaction too. Its main strengths are definitely the atmosphere and storytelling; the idea that imagination may become deadly is brilliant and very well conveyed in the game.

    In terms of gameplay this is a "walking simulator" at its heart, but it's the best I have played. When walking through the stories of each Finch, the player experiences something different. From reading a pulp fiction magazine, to climbing a tree chasing a cat, to trippy adventures such as controlling an owl or a shark. And each story has an emotional pay off.

    The only downside of the game are the technical issues. Frame rate isn't locked at 30 fps and moving the camera feels jerky because of erratic frame pacing. Even in enclosed spaces these problems persist. However these are not enough to make this game unplayable or anything bad.

    What Remains of Edith Finch is a slow paced, narrative-heavy experience, that will get you a good 3-4 hours of playtime. If you like games such as Gone Home, you'll definitely like this, too.    … Expand

    It has a great story, but I could see why some people would not give the same rating. It could have better replayability. I really liked how they did the credits, great idea. I reccomend it to anyone who is a fan of singleplayer.

    The control is as good as it needs to be and the graphics are detailed throughout. Some scenes are very moving and elements of mystery and wonder are brought to you as you search through all the belongings of what these characters' lives held. The soundtrack is well placed and the intruiging outcomes keep you interested until the end. Overall its a very well put together piece of interactive art. This game is very fun and very relaxing with a couple high intensity moments like when Molly turns into all the creatures or Barbara’s comic, and was easier to play for someone like me who is very bad with hand eye coordination.     I downloaded this game from the PSplus and played it in one shot. it's just perfect in may opinion and I think helps a lot to understand better things that we normally just overlook

    If you've ever played the card game Gloom you might see some similarities and have a bit of a laugh. If you enjoy story driven walking simulators then this is a great one to add to your collection. But also I got it for free from PlayStation plus.

    Gone Home isn’t the only other walking simulator I’ve played, though, I’ve played many others, quite a few of which I liked, several of which I absolutely adored (Stanley Parable, Beginner’s Guide, Journey, Night in the Woods), and Edith Finch I truly believe to be the best of them all. It reaffirmed why I love video games. It is so unique, so imaginative, so unexpected and breathtakingly original, taking full advantage of the medium’s strengths as an art form to tell a story that could have never been told through any other medium. Playing through this game was a wondrous experience, something that put a smile on my face a dozen times while simultaneously causing my eyes to well up, a game that left me satisfied yet yearning for more, it is truly joyous, evoking that feeling you get at the end of a great book, where your fingers just dwell on the last few pages as you’re reluctant to turn them, because you simply don’t want the experience of reading it for the first time to ever leave you.

It's the quality that matters most and they delivered. The thing we should keep in mind that no matter how long the game is, if the developers can't utilise and use the resources they have in a proper way and can't execute the necessary things properly, it'll never be a great game.     About 3-4 hours of playing doesn't sound great, but this time not game length is important. Amazing visual background, great storyline, voice acting and that music is absolutely legendary mix. Emotions, which make you wanna play whole game through should be best way to reviev this title. Absolute MUST PLAY - Especially when is in May PS ➕ for free!
