    The city of Chicago in Watch_dogs was such an interesting place. This game felt very innovative with its concept of hacking in a futuristic world with technology. The driving and gunplay felt very smooth but the control scheme can be improved on. The negatives of this game are the emptiness of the story. The whole plot was a massive revenge story and felt very hollow. But for a cheap game,The city of Chicago in Watch_dogs was such an interesting place.     It’s a solid open world game, great open world, great combat, decent story, good voice acting. Shame it was downgraded, otherwise I feel like the reception to this game would be more positive.

    Watch Dogs offers a solid 'GTA' experience with a bigger emphasis on stealthier approach. Missions are heterogeneous, using cameras, environmental hazards, chases, convoys, sneaking, tailing keep the gameplay fresh till the end of the game. The collectable side missions and other activities are great.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. (To clarify, I first completed the game on PS3 before buying the game on PS4 to do another run so this review will really be mostly about the things i saw in both of them.)

    The game is great. The story was engaging at the very least, the characters are a tad bit bland but they do their part. Game mechanics I actually had the most fun with, most especially the "Focus" ability, I was able to do all the missions that required physical infiltration with stealth, and it all felt so satisfying. The driving is a bit of a drag, the cars seem to slide across each other like butter if both headlights touch, and the turning/drifting doesn't feel all too rewarding. The weirdest part is Aiden Pearce. He is described in the game as a person who's personality you'll never be able to figure out, but whenever he in some conversation with a high profile target, especially with the Iraq fight, his comebacks seem so try hard and hilarious. Overall, the game is definitely not perfect, but it's alright, and it's definitely worth getting on the PS4 if it happens to go on sale. Is it worth getting over Grand Theft Auto 5? No. Is it a game made in the era where Ubisoft didn't care so much about milking? Yeah.    … Expand

    I know the game didnt live upto the hype and it was falsely marketed but besides that the game is a lot of fun and the hacking adds a unique element to an open world game. People focused mainly on how the game was shown before release and what the final product was but if you just focus on the game alone it is pretty good game that is a lot of fun

    This game would be a cult classic if it was made by an indie company. Disregard the butthurt reviews from people who got mislead by the e3 trailer. Aiden is a John Wick like protagonist and it's a great revenge story. Much better than the sequel.

Aunque mucha gente se queje del juego la vdd yo lo disfrute bastante es un muy buen juego con buenas gráficas aunque no lo crean y un diseño de arte que me da mucho, en cuanto a la historia es una historia de venganza que la vdd parece muy sosa al principio pero luego de pasar la misión un buen hermano como a las 3 horas de iniciar la partida se torna algo interesante la trama y cuando asesinan a Clara no te esperas esa escena tan dura como creíamos, al final termina bastante bien la trama acabando la venganza así Damien y dándote a elegir si matar o no al que mato a tu sobrina.… Expand

I loved the story because it is so immersive - a men who will do anything to protect his family, himself, world and people who he cares about. When it comes to the end it's really breathtaking, you're sad and mad at once. In WD's Chicago we can see begging of cyberpunk climat, most of people are poor and the rich corporations as Blume is taking over the city with ctOs. Graphics are becoming a little out dated but it still looks good and mechanics are way more limited than in new WD's but it let's you get into the world, because a hacker like aiden who is a guy who just passes can make little but meaning things with his phone. Gameplay is a clearly see oldie especially shooting and driving but it is okay. I loved the free-roaming and just watch what pedestrians do and search for the missing music for a platinum achievement. Some may call it boring and not fun in a game of hackers but I call it a game life, just chill and wait for someone to hack you, find him and kick his ass.… Expand

    Muy buena historia! La trama te atrapa cada vez más ! Quizás la jugabilidad a la hora de manejar es lo que menos destaca , pero la historia es el punto fuerte de este juego!

    If today in 2020, look at what Watch dogs has become, then the first part is simply a masterpiece. Her Noir is very much needed today. Instead, we have a masquerade party and hipsters. I want more realism, something closer to mr Robot. I really like the atmosphere of this game and its music. I hope that one day you will make a good watch dogs game

    This game is brutally the best game ever, its my favorite game. storyline makes sence, sad and amazing. combat is awesome and every small thing in the game is nice. way better than GTA 5, I would rather buy watchdogs than GTA 5. watchdogs keeps you connected with the game but not GTA 5

    Got the complete edition of watch dogs as it was on discount in the ps store and boii am i glad that i got it!!! This game was released way back in 2014 and even today it got me engaged and narrated such a wonderfull tale.The gameplay,story(yeah there are some plot holes but i can forgive that) and especially the way the missions are designed seemed real interesting to me.Now am on way toGot the complete edition of watch dogs as it was on discount in the ps store and boii am i glad that i got it!!!     Watch Dogs 1 is great open world hacker game. Graphics look really solid considering it came out early 2014. gameplay is fun enough, shooting feels great, outfits have cool color variations. It's not perfect, but hardly anything is.

    I will support Ubisoft until the day i die. I bought AC Valhalla Day 1 and i will do same with Far Cry 6. I want to play Assassin's Creed Unity as last thing i ever do, before i die. Ubisoft (alongside Rockstar Games, Remedy Entertainment and Capcom) is one of my favorite game developers of all time and i mean it.     There are so many game breaking glitches in this game that at this point it deserves a 0. I cannot even load my game anymore because it gets stuck at 90% loaded when I click on continue. Other people have lost all their weapons, abilities, clothes, and more after being killed online. I haven't been able to play my game I payed 60$ for 3 days now. Who knows when a patch will be releasedThere are so many game breaking glitches in this game that at this point it deserves a 0. First off the city of Chicago feels way more real than anything rockstar has crafted. Don't get me wrong rockstar can craft some great live open world games but nothing comes close to matching watchdogs living breathing city. Don't get me wrong rockstar can craft some great live open world games but nothing comes close to matching watchdogs living breathing city. Random crimes happen, fights, and some nova will even call the cops on you. It just feels so real even in how the npcs interact with you and others. It's simply amazing. The animation and graphics are excellent even though there is a noticeable graphics downgrade. The shooting and hacking in the game is fun and opens up endless possibilities on how to complete missions, stop crimes, or evade the cops. There is just so much content in this game from the aforementioned random crimes to activities like chess, drinking games, races, and even my favorite activities...digital trips. There is so much more this game offers but explaining it would take a while and I'd rather get back to playing this amazing piece of work. It is well worth the money don't believe the hate. It ain't perfect but it sure as hell is close to it 9.5/10… Expand

But take the thing on its own merits and it is definitely worth the purchase. I don't CARE about GTA V. I don't care if basement dwellers feel they were misled regarding the graphics. The graphics are solid. And I can't understand giving a game a "0" out of some sense of socially inept, acne driven rage. Or how people can actually root for companies providing them with games to FAIL. Lame. All you've done is convinced me to stop looking at game site forums or metacritic user reviews. You have nothing constructive to say. You got nothing HONEST to say. And you're coming across as hateful to people who have done NOTHING to you. You don't want a product, then don't buy it.     Watch Dogs is a game that almost needs no introduction but shouldn't be taken completely lightly at all. From the start it seemed like this game would have to much hype going into its release, but once you get into the game you will start to notice the journey it takes you on isn't what you probably expected but is still breath taking and a fresh idea none the less. The only things that truly held this game back from being the best it could be was due to a bit of rushed story plot lines, quality control and a tad of repetitive gameplay. None the less Watch Dogs is truly a next gen experience that you will want to play at some point and that is why I feel this game deserves a 8.5/10!… Expand

    So I've played Watch Dogs around 12 hours and have only completed the first act due to the massive amount of side missions and other activities the online aspect of the game is simple, with one player joining your game and having a set task, for example tail the player or hack the player while they are trying to blend in to not get killed. Other online modes include racing and a capture the flag type game. the game so far is excellent and i have had no lag issues or any other issues with the game. The overall idea of watch dogs is a simple one. you are Aiden Pearce a man who can hack into almost anything ranging from Cameras to Grenades held by the NPC characters. There are several ways you can tackle the missions some of the missions can be done without Aiden even being seen by the enemies where as you can also go in guns blazing and take out everyone and anyone you want.

    So far i have not found any bad parts, the game runs smoothly on the Playstation 4 the only issue with the gameplay is have is driving. The driving seems terribly clunky especially when you are driving at high speeds and trying to turn corners, but this depends on the car you drive at most times as the better cars such as the sports cars seem a lot more responsive and easier to drive. there is no combat from the cars apart from using your phone to hack things like gas lines, pop up blockers, traffic lights and more thus making driving feel quite limited.

    Watch Dogs contains a kind of moral system which reflect on the things you do. Mainly if you injure or kill civilians you will have a negative moral, so far i have not found any reason for this apart from time to time seeing news clips saying things such as ' The vigilante has killed innocent people' the hacking mini game is simple but effective as you have to spin pieces around trying to link to a lock, this mini game is spread out quite even between the games missions so it does not get tiring or repetitive. overall the game is great and is worth picking up if you are into free roam games.    … Expand

    Large amount of side missions and random traits of profiled citizens create a feel of busy city around Aiden. A few online hacking attempts that I've experienced were fun and challenging and also allowed me to better understand skill system -- what I need right now and what not. On the other side -- driving is not so smooth as in GTA and    A good mix of Assassin's Creed and GTA.

    Watch Dogs is a fun open world experience. However, the repetitive chases and the formulaic gameplay tend to get tedious and boring after a while. As such, you might want to enjoy the different multiplayer experiences and take frequent breaks to just roam around the city.

    It’s a bold first step on the new terrain for Ubisoft. The game is enjoyable, offers some interesting mechanics and lasts for long enough, but is bland as a whole. The characters lack personalities, the city could use more distinctness and the story is instantly forgettable. [07/2014, p.46]

    Overall, it is almost without a doubt the best platformer that has popped up on the current generation of consoles and is a bedrock on which Ubisoft could build a brand to remember.
