As long as the servers hold up and there isn’t lag during netplay, it should wind up being one of the top PSN titles of all time.

Videoball is a classy and low cost game that is manic fun in multiplayer and an okay grind in single player arcade mode. Don't let the simplistic looks put you off – have some balls and fire this up at your earliest convenience.

With its distinctively clean retro stylings and deceptively simple set up, Videoball may blindside you with the pace and depth of its gameplay. It's reminiscent of arcade classics, and is easily one of the best multiplayer experiences of the year.

Tactical, very multi-faceted, tight: the clinical style of Videoball could make you think this is some complex game, but it is actually a fantastic version of air hockey. Too bad the matchmaking does not work and there are limited users online for the game to actually take off.

As an inclusive party game that only takes a few moments to get fun even for inexperienced players, Videoball succeeds. But for the lone player looking to partake in a different kind of esport, options are limited.

Matches are just tedious affairs without much strategy. The screen is filled with unnecessary things that makes it hard to tell what is going on. I could never find enough people to play online to get a match going. Wanted to like it but I just cannot. Full Review »
