Unruly Heroes is a gorgeous action platformer that oozes charm. The single-player story mode is an absolute gem that I will undoubtedly revisit. The simplistic gameplay combined with a cast of four well-designed and unique characters makes for a fantastic experience that stands out from other platform games. If you don’t want to go on this adventure alone Unruly Heroes can even be played with up to four players locally. There’s also a PvP mode if you wish to test your skills against your friends. Pick up Unruly Heroes now for a wildly exciting adventure.

A great 2D Acton Platformer with some impressive art design and animation. With plenty of collectibles to find and some strong level design, Magic Design Studios has a winner on their hands.

This PS4 release includes two new difficulty levels, with Easy making enemies less daunting thanks to increased damage output. Hard, meanwhile, should satisfy any cravings you have for a challenge when gunning for Diamond rank. And unlockable outfits add extra character to a whimsical 2D platformer that already had enough to spare. [Issue#164, p.90]

It may look like just another 2D platformer yet Unruly Heroes provides challenging and unique gameplay that'll keep you hooked.

Using Journey to the West more as a clever backdrop rather than outright adapting it, Unruly Heroes makes for a charming action-platformer that pokes fun at one of China's most important novels, while also crafting together a wildly fun experience. With four distinct characters to choose from across 29 visually stunning levels, and the journey to restore balance to Heaven and Earth results in rarely a dull moment. Toss in a surprisingly engaging combo system, on the fly character switching, and plenty of secrets to uncover to tie the package together, and Unruly Heroes winds up quite the formidable platformer.

Unruly Heroes is a fun action-platformer with a beautiful artstyle, solid puzzles, and a lighthearted sense of humor. However, one shouldn’t let its kid-friendly artstyle fool them: this game’s platforming challenges rival those found in other 2D indie platformers such as 2018’s Celeste.

But for its claustrophobic close combat control system and difficulty spikes, Unruly Heroes is a fun and visually appeasing adventure platform worthy of your time.

Unruly Heroes is a 2D platformer who banks a lot on its fightings. There’re some qualities, for sure, but it can’t face its many rivals, like Ori and the Blind Forest, Hollow Knight or Rayman Origins.

Unruly heroes is a beautiful and delightfully charming game, with everything in it looking hand-painted, brought to life by magical animation. It's a pity that imprecise controls make its difficulty curve more frustrating than it should be though. A lacking bit of spit and polish prevent Unruly Heroes from being an outstanding action platformer.

Unruly Heroes takes advantage of a popular and complicated story, simplify and mix it with a solid artistic design, throw in a gameplay full of content but without any notable innovations, and finally creates a pleasant experience for almost any type of gamer.

Unruly Heroes is a decent action-platformer that has a fantastic art style and genuinely looks beautiful. The platforming and combat, for the most part, is sound, with a huge amount of variety to find in the levels. However, the controls can be a little unresponsive and the game does have issues with some very forced 'comedy', though comedy is always subjective. Is Unruly Heroes worth buying? For what is a reasonably low price, it is a decent title to pick up and is worth spending some time with.

It offers some good ideas and fabulous artwork, but without fine-tuning those ideas and mollifying the overly-difficult ending, I finally understand why it got lost in the shuffle this year.

With a little more polish, this could've been one of PS4's better indie platformers. As it stands, Unruly Heroes is a beautiful game with gameplay flaws putting a dampener on things. It's largely a fun game to play, especially in co-op, but controls aren't as tight as they should be, and combat devolves into button mashing territory all too easily. The result is a decent, if unremarkable, side-scrolling action title.

Unruly Heroes is a game of boinks and swooshes. Everything bounces around weightlessly and nothing makes sense.

Excellent art and level design. Really enjoying this game. Kind of like Raymond Legends/Trine.

(Update) Been playing this for some time now and it keeps getting better in terms of level design and gameplay, probably one of my favourite games to date this year. Usually I get bored after a week or two of playing but not with this.

I honestly love this style of game, though I wish there were some way to level or upgrade your characters. The art style and combat of thisI honestly love this style of game, though I wish there were some way to level or upgrade your characters. The art style and combat of this game feels fluid and has that king fu action that you would come to expect from a game set in this style. the level design is really well done, with the backdrops stealing the show at times. As of writing this review, I am about 12 levels deep at the moment and though challenging, I never thought any level design was unfair or overly hard. I highly recommend this to any fans of platformers. Full Review »

    Sonido: 9
    Jugabilidad: 9,5
    Diversión: 9
