You mayA broken mess which insults you with constant "clever" ideas that don't work. Almost nothing works. Virtually no enemy can see you. You may think that you are a great stealth gamer but in actual fact you could run through the levels with the mace of light equipped and nothing will see you. Even if something sees you you can hit it a few times and then back away a couple of feet and it cannot see you again. One creature the Bellum just walks into a tree or a wall, it can never see you. If you attack it several times it will eventually snap to life and one shot you but once you realise every one of these 100% cannot engage you you just ignore them. Traps don't damage you except for 1 trap, you earn level up points by doing things like killing enemies with traps. But the traps don't work. So you can't level up. But then you see if you kill an enemy with fire you can level up. But then you kill an enemy with fire and you don't get the level up. Then you crouch and stand and the game awards you the "long jump" feat which lets you level up. Yay! You crouched, the game thought you were flying and let you level up. But on closer inspection you needed 3 level up points to actually level up. So you take on some side missions. They are exactly the same as the previous story mission only they break the game. You will just be walking along having achieved nothing when the mission cleared screen pops up and you are teleported to a different floor with no side or main mission in your quest log. You then stumble around for an hour until a voice over you heard before plays again and you have a feeling maybe the game has unbroken itself so you check your quest log and voila, you have a main quest again. You hesitantly take on another side quest because you have not had a chance to level anything up in about 15 hours and need to hope something will magically reveal itself. Then you get trapped in the death loop. You seem to just suddenly fall and die (even though you were walking on flat ground), over and over, you think there's no real penalty to death so who cares? You reset the console and your save data definitely remembers your death loop because all your equipment you had on is now broken.
So you decide maybe magic could be fun. Well maybe it is, but you cannot level anything up to try. So many level up points are tied to broken mechanics, and even the mechanics that aren't broken (fire, that is the only thing not really broken although water arrows don't put any fire that isn't a torch or cauldren). Most spells seemed like maybe they could be fun, but nothing works. I don't need to teleport if enemies can't see me, I don't need to be able to buff an ally if the ally cannot walk around and help (they walk about 5 feet from their cage and maybe kill 1 thing) all I need is heal and fire ball so I can always burn stuff. Oh yeah and burning is the only physics thing in the game worth mentioning and yes, you burn wood. It burns. The enemies won't move away from burning wood and just stand there dying. You can even holding a burning crate up to an enemy and it will neither see you or try and not burn to death. I suspect I could do this to EVERY creature in the game.
So what is good?
It has nice ideas, almost none of which work, and I bet in about 5 years a pc modding team will make a free mod for this and pc gamers at least will be able to get some enjoyment out of it. This game is like ordering a banquet and the meal is so rotten the guests complain. So the catering company put the guests on hold for 7 months and deliver even more rotten food, only now the rotted bits are breeding new forms of life. The catering company refuse to even engage a single complaint and obsess over how nice the trays look that they served the food on. This game is a cesspool.… Expand
