Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (10/10) – A remarkable non-stop thrill ride with many unforgettable moments. With more variety in location, snappier gameplay and better story, this is the best game of the three for sure.

Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception (9/10) – Another highly polished and stunning adventure with Nathan Drake. While the gameplay is just as good this time around, it's the messy and unfocussed story that prevents it from coming close to Uncharted 2.

Amazing collection of three awesome game! The remaster graphically is great with alot of improvement, especially Uncharted 1 and 60fps for all of em! They added a photo mode and an easier and harder difficulty. They also added a speedrun mode. This is all good but my only complaint is that it's doesn't feature the multiplayer,.

Yes, the first entry in the series looks and plays a bit dated but that's an expectation you should already have going into the game. Among Thieves and Drake's Deception hold up much better and are comparable to any new AAA title

If you played the series on the PS3, I couldn't possibly find you a reason to pick up the Collection, especially since the multiplayer was skipped entirely, but for those of you like myself that never played the series before, I highly recommend doing so. It's definitely worthy of the accolades it has received through out the years. I've already got Uncharted 4 on pre-order.

PS4’s Uncharted collection brings three games on board: Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, all of which were originally released on PS3. As someone who never played any of the three back in the PS3 era, this was not only a phenomenal value, but just a wonderful experience in general.

Naughty Dog really went full force in seeking to create a cinematic experience based in exotic backdrops with plenty of Indiana Jones style of grand adventure. These games are simply beautiful, and the camera mode allows you to document all the shining vistas, snowy peaks, and blazing sands. The games feel more like movies that cut away into puzzle solving, shootouts, or traversing these beautiful and often deadly landscapes. Throughout all three games, the majority of the gameplay involves third-person cover shooter mechanics.

The characters are enjoyable and well-written, if not a bit campy at times. Nathan Drake has a bit of a dry wit, and we see him evolve slowly over the three games as we learn more about his life and the strain that his adventures place on the relationships with the people he cares for.

UC1 is pretty basic and doesn’t quite hit the mark for being truly great, but it introduces the major characters and the building blocks for the franchise’s core mechanics. UC2 stands out as the best among the three, despite the fact that UC3’s mechanics and gunplay run silky smooth. Each game sees gameplay and mechanical improvements over the previous, but UC2’s story of the search for Shamballa and the snowy Tibetan backdrop feel the most epic in sight and scope. UC3 gives us a look at Drake’s past and feels more relevant to Nathans life as he searches for Sir Francis Drake’s legacy (Nathan claims to be a descendant of Sir Francis Drake, despite history claiming he had no heir) but suffers from some pacing problems. Some chapters in UC3 feel as if they were experimental or meant to simply add a fresh style of gameplay to the third installment, but these sequences last too long, and the sluggish gameplay creates a drop a in the high adventure motif.

One issue stands out to me in this series as a whole and it breaks the immersion if I think about it too much: the body count. Drake is a treasure hunter and takes part in plenty of illegal activity, always seeming to slip out of the hands of those on his tail, but throughout all three games, I estimate that the number of people that Nathan has killed to be over one thousand. That’s insane. There is no way that he could be able to get away with mass murder on that scale, even if most of them are pirates or ne’er-do-wells. THAT’S A HUGE TRAIL OF BODIES. I digress.

To sum it up real quick:
UC1 – Too basic with repetitive encounters, but still interesting
UC2 – Great story and improved gameplay
UC3 – Best of the three mechanically, but falls short in pacing

    Final conclusion:
A great way to spend about twenty hours across all three games, with plenty of reasons to come back to all three: trophies, harder difficulties, treasures, unlocking skins, etc.
If you didn’t play these on PS3, then this is a no brainer purchase, and it’s the perfect setup to grab the latest installment; Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I never got around to playing the original Uncharted games on PS3. Since I never owned one.

The Uncharted games are probably my favourite series of all time since I picked up the collection on Day 1.
The humor, the action, the voice acting. Atleast 90% of the games' cutscenes have humor and action in them. From hanging off a train in the Nepal mountains. To hanging of a plane above the Rub' al Khali desert. The story in all 3 games are amazing.

I really don't have anything else to say about the games. Except the shooting and level design is great and some of the best I've seen (Don't listen to the XBOX fanboys saying the shooting is trash). Oh, and the games beautifully run at 1080p 60fps.

If you own a PS4, I 100% recommend this collection.

When The Last of Us was remastered, having not played Uncharted as I didn't own a PS3, I was calling for an Uncharted collection. Now having played through the games, I can see why they were genre-defining at the time, but I do not think in this day and age they are particularly great games.

First of all, the voice acting in the three games is the best voice acting I have heard from a video game. Hands down. Nathan Drake is hilarious, Chloe is flirtatious and a great companion, and Sully is the old, wise but cool mentor to Drake. The stories throughout the trilogy are interesting and memorable, and I was captured to see what happened next.

However, I did feel like I was on a track with no exploration available. And in a game that is about exploring, this was disappointing. I didn't expect a huge open world, but just something other than a straight line that I had to walk down to shoot guys that they put in front of me. I had to play the game on the hardest difficulty because otherwise it felt like the game was playing itself.

I do recommend this remaster to people who have not played the trilogy like myself, as I did have a lot of fun with it. But if you expect it to change the way you look at video games as a whole, then lower your expectations a tad.

So it came as quite a surprise when I really enjoyed these games. The story is nothing special until 3, but the characters are so well realized. The experience benefits from being a game as it makes us relate to Nathan and become engrossed in the situation, so it really couldn't work as a movie without missing out on a large portion of it. The first game is enjoyable and is really just another action game. The second game is where the pacing and mechanics start to sharpen up to give a truly compelling experience. By three the game game play is quite good and the level design is great. It is also great to play a game where the levels are well designed and unique and skill as opposed to leveling is required to get through it. Uncharted really surprised me and opened my mind to what experiences games can offer beyond just Mario levels of game play joy. Uncharted is not without flaws though, some levels make the actions necessary unclear, sometimes the combat is wonky and unfocused, and some levels do not feel interactive enough. Even as a story based game the story feels quite thin until the third one and even at that the story is not revolutionary or a must see. Expand

The puzzles are simple enough to be solved and you can skip them if you get stuck. Every set piece brings something new to the table, you will think you're in an action movie. The Uncharted series presents interesting histories and gorgeous, really beautiful, graphics. It has a smooth combat system (although countless waves of enemies can get repetitive) and the puzzles are ok. The fact that the character can only carry two weapons adds realism to the combats.

The biggest downside of Uncharted is that it's a strictly linear game. You can't enter in a given combat from whatever side of the map you want (like Far Cry), that is, you just can't create different strategies to engage a group of enemies. Surely this is not the scope of Uncharted, but after playing games like Fallout, Skyrim or even Far Cry, you just hope for more open world games, that can offer much more liberty to make your own decisions and strategies. Unfortunately, Uncharted 1, 2 and 3 are just a linear games. I did not play Uncharted 4, but I hope the developers have added some open world characteristics. Bottom line, a more open world perspective would very much improve Uncharted games.

Another thing I really didn't like is that you have no liberty to interact with the environment at your own will, you can only interact with the things that the game lets you. For example, you can climb, but only in the specific walls and places determined by the game. There are places where you COULD climb, judging by the ability of the character, however, considering that these places are not designed by the game creators to be climbed, so you just can't. If you want to be creative and try to climb or jump in other places other than those designed by the game creators, to create a different paths or strategies, you just can't. This is VERY frustrating, it's as if you were following a script.

Despite of that, the overall quality of the game is outstanding, AAA grade, and definitely worth some hours of gameplay. Finally, it's important to note that after completion there is little reason to replay the games.

This game isn't on anyone's favourite in the series, but that's because of the games too busy starting up the world, story and characters that Uncharted has been praised for, for years. The story is grounded, the combat is OK and the game doesn't look too bad. 7/10
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves: The game you buy the collection for. Although the first game was pretty good, it lacked a few things. Among Thieves rectifitied almost everything, introducing new weapons, smoother climbing and even more unforgettable characters, all voiced and written flawlessly. While a few too enemies are human shields, there are really no other big flaws in the game. 9/10
Uncharted 3: Disappointing slightly, the third game doesn't live up to the second, but is still a great game. It features the best set-pieces in all the series, along with the most memorable soundtrack. Its story is a bit too underdeveloped, and the villains should've seen more screen time, but all in all, a solid game. 8/10

And of course the improvement of Naghty dog throughout the trilogy in the first game of the series we see practically a tomb raider generic with a promising cast but very basic still the story is cool and seeing the trio Nathan elena and sully for the first time is really fun anyway is a competent game a good start for a new series but nowadays it's worth more for its plot and for being part of the franchise.

In its continuation we see what for me is the best game of the uncharted 2 franchise is the perfect mix between fun cinematic moments is an intriguing story the leap in quality over the first is visible, here we find a more complex plot and a game technically more polished.

Finally, the third game of the series and the largest of the dtrilogy in scope uncharted 3 remains very beautiful in this remastered version we see more about the past of drake and we go around the world in another treasure hunt, although it drags a little longer than What is necessary is to lack a little of the charisma of its predecessor remains a great experience.

Finally the negatives, although the remastering left the games more polished, I found many bugs in the last game of the series and the boats stage was very difficult to play because it was going through the objects of the scene, also i missed the online mode of the games that were very fun , aside from these little problems for the price of a game you can get to know some of the best ps3 games and without a doubt some of the must fun.

The stories are quite good, nothing spectacular but serviceable with well-written characters.
The first uncharted had the weaker story, it felt the most generic with REALLY boring villains but the main characters were so likable that it kept me playing but the story in this game isn't really good.
The second uncharted game had a much better story, it doesn't tell the story in order making it intriguing, the characters were more interesting and this game had a much better villain.
And finally, the third uncharted game had a good story but it wasn't better than the second one, the characters didn't really develop and the villains would have been interesting if it wasn't for an antclimatic final boss and conclusion, it was better than the first game but it did left me a bit dissapointed.

The three games have the exact same gameplay but it does improve a little bit, the shooting mechanic is incredible in the second and third game (the first one had problems) and the cinematic moments make you feel like you are playing a movie and a very exiting one at that.

I really recommend this collection, having three great games in one package is really satisfying and the games thermselfs are entertaining and fun, buy it now.

It is a worthy buy for anyone who has not played the Uncharted series ever and has gotten a PS4 that wants some good exclusives. It comes at a 60 FPS with updated visuals that make the adventures great to partake in and enjoy. The first game is the weakest of the three and the second and third will get huge bumps in quality as you go in order.

The biggest issues however lie in the multiplayer, which I argue is rather lame and a attempt to be like Gears of War for Playstation players. It just doesn't feel like it belongs in the games and is off putting for their place. Uncharted 1 goes through the same problems the original version had with numerous enemies and no variation that really strained its overall performance and some moments in the games can be tedious or boring (such as Nathan climbing a large thing for a few minutes). This does not mean the game collection overall is bad, but the critically acclaim the games receive are close, but not close enough for me to agree. It is definitely worth the buy though and should give you between 25-35 hours of story altogether.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection is a great package containing remasters of the PS3's Uncharted trilogy. For me, this collection allowed me to experience each game for the first time, and I enjoyed each one.

The first game still holds up 13 years after it's initial release. Some aspects feel dated and primitive, particularly after playing it's sequel, but this is still an enjoyable introduction to Nathan Drake and his companions. The jet ski levels are a bit annoying but they're not too much of a blemish on an otherwise solid title.

Among Thieves is a marked improvement on the first Uncharted in a number of ways. It's a better looking, more exciting, and more interesting game that further establishes the IP - the Uncharted series really grows into its own in this one. It feels like a more confident and original game, with a stronger story that takes you through some good setpieces and ends on a very sweet note.

Drake's Deception is another great game. Rather than being another big improvement though, it's more of the same this time around, but that's not a bad thing. It has some amazing setpieces like the pirate section and the plane crash, and overall I'd say this might be the most cinematic of the three games. I liked briefly seeing young Nate and Sully in Drake's Deception. However, it's overall story may be a little too similar to that of its predecessor.

The actual gameplay across the three titles is quite uniform, although some elements feel much more basic in the first Uncharted. Each game blends combat, platforming and light puzzle solving to great effect. The combat is fun for the most part, and each game offers a different arsenal of weapons to use which keeps things different. Some enemies are annoyingly bullet spongey but on the whole the gunplay is enjoyable. The climbing sees some improvements in the second and third game where it looks much more stylish and dynamic than in the first.

On the whole, these are three great games that are well worth playing. Nathan Drake is a very likeable and charismatic character, and I love his companions too. Going on adventures to seek out treasure and lost cities was a blast, as you get to fight through some impressive locales. These are three well made action/adventure games that have heart and thrills aplenty.

Uncharted's scripts are not anything out of this world, but what crowns them are its characters and narrative, which are beautifully designed.

    **4/5 stars

*GAMEPLAY*: In this remaster, the gameplay of the first Uncharted has been notably retouched, which urgently needed those touches. The second and third games still have the fantastic gameplay of yesteryear.

*GRAPHICS*: The first Uncharted was remarkable, but the second and third were graphic and artistic beasts in their day.

*SOUND*: Uncharted has always had a representative song, but its soundtrack has never reached excellence. The sound effects are correct.

*INNOVATION*: A good remastering, very focused on the first Uncharted, which is the one that has aged the worst (and by far). Nevertheless, it is still a good game, and along with nothing more and nothing less than Uncharted 2 and 3 in the collection.

This bundle is worth picking for PS4 and a must have for Uncharted fans. The graphics have aged nicely well, its truly stunning to see this saga in higher quality, its a real big nostalgia that makes us feel back in the days playing PS3.

A bit outdated (specially the first one) but still worth playing.

    Good storytelling, scritp and characters
Full of action but very lineal and no space to characters personalization/evolution.

    Good for casual players though

These games have amazing characters and character development and the cinematic and storytelling is amazing and top notch. I fell in love with Drake and company and was engaged in the problems and story of these characters. The shooting, climbing, and puzzles are all paced very well (at least in 2-3) and are all amazing. Sure the first game is kinda rough in some parts such as stealth and some over done pirate sections. And the story can get a bit rough in the 3rd one but overall these games are an experience no one should miss. Expand

I was about to get a console and i was debating PlayStation and X-Box at the time and a friend of mine recommended this trilogy stating it was really good. So i ended up with PlayStation and was able to experience some of the greatest games ever made. The cinematic feel and charm of the game is amazing and is aided by lovable characters and great voice acting. The whole look and feel of the games are great and the environments are straight beautiful. The glimmering water, the shading, lighting, and the face animation are all perfect. The presentation is without a doubt top notch here. The story telling is simplistic but effective. The story's are never these complex crazy plots but more like simple back drops for the characters to grow and change. The dynamics they all have is wonderful. Charming heroes, bad-ass women, crazy over the top villains. Uncharted has it all. However toward the end of Uncharted 3, the story loses focus and feels a bit rushed and kind of left me confused. I feel like the ending could be more neat and Uncharted 3 would have been perfect. The shooting in in the remastered version of these games is great. Guns have a good weight and feel to them, weapons are diverse and fun to use, and overall good lengths of these shootouts. Except for Uncharted 1 where there where many parts in that game where the shooting segments lasted way to long and lacked variety. Grenades, pistols, Assault rifles, shotguns, rocket launchers, machine guns, you name it they have it. The hand to hand combat feels really weird in the first game but in the 2nd and 3rd it's simplistic but very fun. Uncharted 2 made it good and Uncharted 3 perfected it. Climbing is very good and navigating is easy and jumping from ledge to ledge is always fun however the margin for error is slim until Uncharted 2 introduces moving parts and the terrain changing as you move and mixed combat into it and made it a lot more engaging. Stealth again was literally non existent in Uncharted 1 but in Uncharted 2 was improved upon and completely a viable option. It serves as a way to add more variety to the overall combat of the games. Puzzles are a cool, fun change of pace and as the series goes along it gets increasingly complex and a lot better. I had a lot of fun with the puzzles especially in Uncharted 3. The crazy set pieces such as climbing a derailed train or escaping a exploding ancient city is probably the most intense and memorable moments of the collection. Replayabilty is here with the collectibles an treasures you can find and also the perks and modifications you can get for completing certain tasks or getting a trophy are a lot of fun to mess around with. The harder difficulties are super challenging and fun as well. Overall a memorable experience from beginning to end with lovable characters, story, game-play, and just amazing moments make these games some of the greatest i have ever played and i recommend this too all. I am glad this was my first experience on the PS4. Expand

A series of games of inconsistent quality and different strengths.

You have Drake's Fortune, a raw game with a very shallow story and gameplay.

You have Among Theives, a More polished game that's consistent but still shallow

You have Drake's Deception, A game with high ambition but more inconsistencies.

I have always been a fan of the Uncharted series ever since I played the first one on PS3 way back 2007 when it was released and being remastered for the more powerful PS4 I knew I have to get it I gave this a 9 because I always knew that Bluepoint Games could've done more with the remaster but I am still happy with the outcome that they made and It was worth to replay all three on a much powerful console. I was really looking forward to the opportunity to play this series of games. At the same time, I did not expect much, as I am not a big fan of the adventure genre.

My expectations were almost completely justified. This game is for those who love adventure and will go perfectly for fans of Indiana Jones. For me, the game seemed too banal-starting from the plot, ending with the gameplay itself. At one point outsell from the constant antipsych of scarabian on the walls and the same skirmishes on proteinei the whole game.
As for the parts of the game, then definitely, the third part liked the most, perhaps due to the fact that there is the most decent graphics and only with it the game is perceived. The second part is also quite good. The first seems quite old, but certainly was breakthrough in its time.

In General, the universe of the game: characters, dialogues, the story itself-worthy, but I can not call a masterpiece. Maybe it's because I played all three games in a row. Let's see how I like the 4th part.

Haven't played the originals so this is my first touch on the series

    PROS:
    3 games in 1 disk = Awesome
    Amazing concept
    Good set of characters
    Astonishing visuals and graphics
    Nice voice acting
    Great gameplay

    CONS:
    Run-of-the-mill story
Open world but not so open. I want to go on a certain part of the map but the game won't let me.
Villains lack depth to make me feel for them

Playing through them for the first time on my PlayStation was an experience i will never forget. Having never owned the original games this collection was my first exposure to the Uncharted world. The visuals in these games are fantastic and the environments feel real and varied. Lighting and water effects are insanely beautiful sights and the face animation despite being a bit stiff in the first game is great. The sound design is perfection. Mixing bombastic scores with more calmer or mysterious jungle orchestras. The voice acting is so good you forget who you are and think you are right beside Nathan Drake on his adventures. The stories in each game are pretty simple but are perfect for the light hearted and joyous action these games are. The characters are instantly lovable and their relationships with each other and how they grow and change is the highlight of this game. The game-play is balance of combat, platforming, and puzzles sandwiched in between memorable set pieces. The gun play is perfect mixing many varieties of enemies and cool weapons. The first game can be a bit repetitive in the combat mostly because it relies on it too much, but the other two blend it perfectly. The environments are always changing and they are introducing new mechanics and toys to play with. The first game has a lot of mediocre mechanics such as the platforming and stealth combat but all of this is improved in the sequels. The climbing feels great and environments move around you and sometimes they will mix climbing and shooting. Puzzles are also a great way to break up the pacing and are all really great if a little bit easy. The story is a masterful ride of emotions where you see Nathan and company grow and despite the awkwardly paced ending to Uncharted 3 and the uninteresting villains the story is perfection. These are games everyone should experience and are masterpieces that i will remember. Expand

A friend had recommended this game to me when i first bought my PlayStation and it was the first thing i played. Man i am glad it was. The games may be old but the visuals still hold up and the locations look beautiful and you could just gaze at the beautiful sunsets, jungles, snowy mountains, and wherever else you may be, for hours. The audio is great and the soundtrack, voice acting, and sound effects are perfect. The story is very simple but it works to great effect with the more light hearted tone and the characters interactions feel real and there situations and how they grow and change are remarkable. The characters are also so darn likable and Naughty Dog easily has crafted some of the best ever. The third installment does suffer from some uninteresting villains and an all to familiar plot however. The game-play blends combat, platforming and puzzles solving sandwiched between great story telling and mind blowing set pieces. The first game may rely on combat too much and the beginning is not paced very well but other than that the pacing and blend it perfect. Combat is great and offers many ways to take out enemies, platforming is fun and in the latter two games mixes it in with the combat and has more moving platforms making it far more involved. The puzzles while easy are a great change of pace. Of course we can't forget the epic set pieces that make Uncharted to special. Overall Naughty Dog has done a great job crafting a great story with memorable characters and having fun game-play to go with it. Expand

And wow, I really wish I had continued never having played these games. These were absolutely praised solely on the fact that they were PS3 exclusives and it was during the height of the stupid ‘console wars’. Because nothing about these games is stand-out, they don’t set the bar for anything. Everything they copy was done better in its original game or movie.

In fact, The Uncharted series is probably hurt the most from the fact that it never has its own identity. Every game stole from other games (Tomb Raider. Prince of Persia, Assassin’s Creed, Splinter Cell, etc) and movies (Indiana Jones, The Mummy, etc) and thus never managed to pull off any of their aspects better than the original source material. It’s so much fun to climb buildings and other things in AC because you get to choose where to go. Here, there’s one set path and if you don’t take it, you fail.

I don’t understand how people say they stick around for the characters. What characters?? No one in this series ever grows, ever changes. Nate makes the exact same mistakes every single time. I should have started a tally of how many times the bad guy got the drop on him and ordered him to ‘drop your weapon’. Elena is straight up unlikeable without any substance to her character. She could have had in the first game, but then they started tweaking her job with each subsequent game and the outlandish ways she kept popping up in the adventure. And don’t get me started on her and Nate’s ‘romance’, oh yes there was so much love between two people who didn’t even know each other. Sully is barely in the games and his character completely changed from the first game. I can’t understand why people say he’s the best character in the series: an old, cigar-toting, money-spending, womanizer who wants to get rich?

I don’t understand Nate at all. It never says anything about him possibly being an archaeologist and it certainly never mentions how he gets the money to fund his little expeditions (especially since he never succeeds to get any treasure). But hey he’s the best at finding these places and somehow is the best climber, jumper ever known to man. There’s only so long I can suspend my disbelief.

Each story is the same. Nate learns of possible lost city with a fortune of treasure. Nate must go to several cities and solve many puzzles while bad guys easily follow behind him/beat him there. Suddenly fortune is bad, will end the world, oh no Nate must now be a hero and save the world. City is destroyed, no treasure, but oh we all had fun didn’t we?

The combat is some of the worst. Each game puts in a stealth option but it was never made to work. Not to mention the enemy will start shooting at you if they see your AI buddies that you have no control over. The first game never tries for stealth, two begins the ‘stealth’, and three gives you idiotic AI to try and make stealth, otherwise you’d never be able to take people down quietly.

And people worship the ground at Naughty Dog’s feet? Have they never played an actual GOOD game?? I can in no way recommend these games. A great story and fun gameplay is what keeps people coming back, what gives it replayability. This series has none of that.
