    Good intentions, bad results.
They 100% nail the atmosphere and feeling of a true 90's Survivor Horror game; the scenario, music and level design of the hospital is superb. The puzzles are good, very cryptic and challenging. But the rest... the rest is AWFUL:

The character models are horrendous. Caroline, the priest and most enemies looks so bad that they seems like coming from a whole different game, looks and behave like mannequins. The contrast against the rich and detailed environment is way too big. Now add one of worst VA i have seen in a videogame and you have the cringest cutscene in history. Every scripted interaction in this game is awful.

Another big problem is the performance, bad framerate in a lot of areas and way to long loading screens. (PS4)

The story again; good intention, bad execution. It's kind of close to Silent Hill, but with dumb mirror-time-travels, lame dialogues and a disappointed final boss.

In general the game is good and interesting. I have good impression after playing it on PC.

However PS4 port is lazy-made. Some issues ruin the atmosphere: 1. Some post-processing effects do not work. For instance we can see the big difference in Main Hall. In PC version we see that light of the moon enlights stairs. In PS4 version we do not see such effect, but only some invisible

However PS4 port is lazy-made. Some issues ruin the atmosphere:
    1. Some post-processing effects do not work. For instance we can see the big difference in Main Hall. In PC version we see that light of the moon enlights stairs. In PS4 version we do not see such effect, but only some invisible source of light. In other locations the picture seems almost okay. But still, picture Main Hall still ruins the atmosphere. I know that maybe we have such difference because PS4 is not powerful enough, but we have many examples of good picture on same hardware (i.e. TLOU2). It does not have to have to be the same as on PC, but it should not look strange.
    2. Music is being loaded too long. When I enter a room I need to wait 3-8 seconds to hear the music. Music and sounds makes almost 60% of atmosphere for me. So it would be great to hear it right after entering the room. I know that PS4 has HDD and data in encrypted. But maybe music should be loaded during room loading screen then? Even if I see loading screen a little bit longer the it won't be a problem I think.

The last point is Dualshock 4 support. It is good that tutorial files are updated to match Dualshock 4 layout. But why the game does not support touchpad for point and click activities? I know that it is much easier to do not do extra work for PS4 version, but if the picture is worse then maybe it should be compensated by other features?

I wish publisher to allocate more money to developers to make PS4 version better. I think technically it is possible, just need more efforts.

My verdict: if you are able to play this game on PC then do it. Buying PS4 version is just a way to support this project.

Tormented Souls is a solid play… but maybe leave the lights on!
