    I am playing this game for the first time on ps5 and a shocked how good it is for such an old game. I am seriously posyponing playing other games I ordered just to finish tomb raider

    This game is a classic 2nd best Tomb Raider game imo, from the action to the graphics+sound and the beautiful environments.... just so good, I've played and beat this game on PS3 and now 2x on PS4 this is truly one of the best action adventure platforming games ever... play it now its a 9!!!

    Very well executed action game. The story is a bit cheesy but does enough to keep you hooked. The gameplay is top notch, specially the puzzles and fights. The game could strive for a 9/10 if the skills and equipment progression were more interesting. The scavenging and hunting end up becoming void, and the exploration is not that much of a thing. It's a linear game, you just have theVery well executed action game. The story is a bit cheesy but does enough to keep you hooked. The gameplay is top notch, specially the puzzles and fights.     Pretty good reboot of the tomb raider saga, the history is pretty good and the gameplay is amazingly well done.

    A strong update of the Tomb Raider franchise that - thanks to its po-faced heroine and glaring absence of one-liners and buddy-cop bantz - is nowhere near as much fun to play as the Uncharted games. Good, but still a pretender to Nathan Drake's swashbuckling crown.

    The Tomb Raider series needed a refresh, and the creator did it very well. Interesting gameplay, nice, well presented story, and no major bugs. Overall, I highly recommend this game.

    In a delightful word full of surprising scenes. When I played this game again after 8 years. As if it was my turn! . Lara's empowerment process was great.

    This is by far the best Tomb Raider game to come out since it first began. There is so much depth and the gameplay is stellar. Graphics are top notch and its also very challenging. It starts out slow, but you'll soon find yourself in an all out war. If your looking for a great game at a discount price for the PS4, this is for you!!!

    Recuerdo que cuando salió el juego tuvo muchas críticas, pero en mi opinión está genial. Un juego muy intuitivo de aprender, algo que muchos quieren desmerecer (los juegos por ser más difíciles y enrevesados no son mejores, en mi opinión). Dicho esto, gameplay entretenido, con la sensación de no haber relleno sino que parece que estás casi siempre ante un combate final. Muy recomendado.

    Storywise it's the best of the new trilogy. I'm really happy with the reboot of this franchise starting with this one. As for the definitive edition itself, I honestly didn't see many differences.

    Received free upgrade to PS4 version. Reboot of the Tomb Raider series is an exceptional game based on storytelling, gameplay, and puzzles. There is a lot to do and discover in this game and the story will keep you wanting to continue. Whenever you die in this game be prepared to see Lara in a painful and gruesome animation.     The first Tomb Raider I've played since the Playstation 1. The game offered me approximately 11 hours of non-stop action and a very interesting story. I liked the Japanese setting, which was well done.

    I have to say that the game looks stunning despite being almost a decade old. I only had one "crash" in the entire playthrough when I had to restart the game, otherwise the game runs    The first Tomb Raider I've played since the Playstation 1.     I have to say that the game looks stunning despite being almost a decade old.

    In conclusion, I have to say that this game is a great sparring partner to Uncharted, unfortunately it doesn't hold a candle to the Uncharted series. Although I kind of wish in the back of my mind that we would see a joint adventure of Lara Croft and Nathan Drake one day.

    I really love the reboot of Tomb Raider. Square Enix have made a fantastic job. For me the Tomb Raider series since 2013 are the best 3D action adventures today. Fantastic story, outstanding gameplay and one of the best female hero you can play in a game.

    Ridiculously fun game. The movement is amazing, parkour is a blast and combat is super fun. The story is basic but not in a bad way this time. You know what's going to happen and that's ok. Lara Croft is a badass.

    Tomb Raider Definitive Edition is an action packed adventure game with a fantastic gameplay and beautiful graphics. The story is a bit meaningless, but that was never the strong point of Tomb Raider games. A great game for fans of the Uncharted series or Tomb Raider/Indiana Jones enthusiasts like me.

    Great reboot to a classic franchise, great gameplay, story, sound. I loved everything about this game, it kept me engaged and wanted me to find all secrets and collectibles. This game had me excited going forward with this franchise.

    I highly recommend this game.

I haven't exactly played a huge amount of tomb raider games. I played a few levels of the original tomb raider on the PS one and briefly played 2, 3 and underworld. When I was younger I wasn't so much into puzzle solving games but these days they are more enjoyable.
    So far TR definitive addition has been good fun. Been playing for a few hours and the game looks and feels great. I will update this review upon completion. Even if you pay full price at £15 I would still say that's a fair price for what this game has to offer. You find resources to upgrade your weapons. You find weapon parts to unlock more upgrade options. There is loads of different types of hidden collectibles that tell you things about different characters.
    A couple things I didn't like but nothing major.
    When you collect an item with text and it reads it back to you in that characters voice it comes out the TV and the controller making there be an echo from controller to the TV. You can disable the controller speaker in the menu but I don't understand why this was done.
    There is no option to crouch or sneak. Having it duck and stuff automatically around enemies makes the player feel like they have less control. I would rather have full control over dealing with enemy encounters.
    There is a lack of trophies/achievements. I have been playing for around 2 and a half to 3 hours. Found quite a few collectable and finished a few parts of the game and not had a single trophy. Apparently there is 51 but why isn't there any come up for doing anything story related. Like upgrade your axe, find the bow, open the doors to the tomb using the axe, kill your 1st deer, you get the message. Obviously I haven't removed points off my review for this but still it would be nice to have a trophy or 2 after playing the game for hours.
    I am not sure if this game really needs a sprint option. This is just an opinion and I haven't taken it into consideration with my score. It feels weird playing a game without sprint these days. Being honest thou the map is built well so you always got some near you so its not like you need to spend ages running from place to place. Although if they did include a sprint it would have been good aswell as it gives the player 1 extra form of control over the character. With the lack of crouch option there isn't many ways to actually control the character. The climbing and stuff is cool thou. You can of course jump, clamber, climb and so on. But when you are on the ground it's basically just move and shoot. I can understand why this approach was taken thou as this is a remake of tomb raider which had the same type amount of control over the character.
    But overall this game is amazing and the story is awesome aswell. If you are thinking about purchasing this game then for the price you can't go wrong. Even better if you can get it on offer.    … Expand

Played it on PS5 and it still looks very good! The only thing which I did not like is the island itself, and the quicktime events, but this is personal reference. While the use of the PS4's speaker for audio clips is cool, the effect is ruined since the TV also plays the audio simultaneously. If you've never played "Tomb Raider" before, then you're in for quite a treat. It plays like Far Cry 3, but with a Resident Evil 4 over-the-shoulder combat mechanic. However, if you've already played the PS2 version, you might not need this. With the exception of the prettier graphics and minor new additions, there's not much new.     Very well crafted game. A bit short but well worth the price on sale. If you played the old Tomb raiders you know the game is not only about combat but also puzzles. Here the puzzles of the main story are quite easy, while those of optional stuff can be quite challenging. I like this choice.

    This is actually my favorite Tomb Raider game ever! Its what got me hooked onto the series. I love the story and the gameplay! Very action packed and really fun. Ive actually replayed it many times, that's just how good it is lol.

    A really well-made game. I love the gameplay, it's just so smooth. The story was very compelling and the graphics are top notch for a remaster of a ps3 game. The multiplayer is also not dead, even in 2021. I got right into a lobby on a thursday afternoon (UK time).

    The game is normally on sale for 3£ so I highly recommend buying it on sale!

    This new instalment of this legendary character is great, it’s more brutal, the story is very intriguing, searching through hidden tombs is fun, the puzzles could have been better but weren’t bad. I didn’t care at all for the guns in the game which is why I stuck to the bow and arrow found it so much more fun.

Inicialmente parece que tendremos que "sobrevivir" haciendo uso de exploración y caza, aprendiendo habilidades y creciendo como jugadores. Pero nada de eso    Un Poco Dispar, Pero Entretenido.

    JUGABILIDAD:
    Como lo pongo en el titulo, la premisa es un poco dispar. Los desarrolladores pretenden vendernos el nacimiento de Lara, pero a la vez prefieren no perder tiempo y pasar a la acción. Inicialmente parece que tendremos que "sobrevivir" haciendo uso de exploración y caza, aprendiendo habilidades y creciendo como jugadores. Pero nada de eso aplica, ya que Lara es la típica protagonista que todo lo puede, desde el primer escenario.
    Sin duda muy desaprovechado.

    Eso sí, la jugabilidad no es del todo mala. Hay grandes secuencias de acción, grandes secuencias de misterio y un poco de terror. Aunque lo cierto es que algunas partes son muy exageradas y, como dije, no encajan con la historia que se está contando. Sí que hacen falta un par de Bosses, y los que hay no valen mucho la pena. Así mismo, los QTE dejan mucho que desear.

    Aún así sigue siendo un juego divertido, con grandes aventuras, un buen número de coleccionables, y muchos enemigos por vencer.

    GRÁFICOS:
    Si bien el juego se trata de una remasterización de un título para Playstation 3, el apartado gráfico sigue siendo decente al día de hoy: no va a quitarnos el aliento, pero sí cumple con una calidad suficiente para disfrutar de los modelados y escenarios.

    La narrativa sí que es brillante, cada cinemática y conjunto de tomas son dignos de una película 5 estrellas, y la dirección de las mismas sin duda será atemporal.

    SONIDO:
    La música es verdaderamente cinematográfica, las piezas son emocionantes e irradian aventura, y el doblaje es muy bueno, creo que uno de los mejores que he probado, y el uso de la bocina en el DualSense da un buen sabor de boca.

    Junto con las tomas visuales, hacen de Tomb Raider un juego totalmente disfrutable a nivel cinematográfico.

    INNOVACIÓN:
    Un juego de Playstation 3, remasterizado para Playstation 4 y que yo lo estoy jugando en Playstation 5.

    This tomb raider episode gives a positive direction to the franchise. The story is interesting, a graphic is pretty nice, the gameplay is fun. It has very few bugs, glitches or annoying situations. Sometimes the puzzles are nonsense a little but they are forgivable.

    The game has incredible gameplay and AI and I liked the story even though it's a typical type of tomb raider stories the graphics was fine I liked every bit of the game but I didn't like the fact that I have to play online to have the platinum trophy.

The characters bodies and faces are pretty good, though not comparable to today's standards. Although not many people like the QTE, I personally loved them all for providing a dynamic variety to its gameplay.
    Secondly, the gameplay is pretty good, but not for everyone. The exploration side is similar to RPG's but limited and mostly necessary to improve the combats. Specifically the features to add skills and upgrades to weapons requires considerable amount of time hunting and searching for items. Personally I disliked the fact that I had to spend too much time on this "side quests" for upgrading features, though many people will find it entertaining as they explore the island. When it comes to combat, the mechanics and animations are fantastic; it was my favorite feature alongside the QTE: Neat, enjoyable, and not overwhelming enemies.
    Lastly, the story is appealing, but maybe not as much as its predecessors in the franchise or other competitors like Uncharted. The whole island mystery is enough to keep the player intrigued about the next part, but it doesn't create that hype that many other narratives have. The characters are not well-developed and Lara is clearly shown as the single main character in the game without much development for other ones, but still it's emotional at some parts.
    Overall, I recommend this game for anyone, but it's not a "must play" in my opinion. I would say that it could be a strong suggestion for PS4 owners, but it doesn't stand out as much as other titles in the Adventure-Action genre like Uncharted. Nonetheless, it's worth giving it a try if you liked previous Tomb Raider games or simply love adventure games. It's difficult to recommend this title In 2021 having so many other games that are more enjoyable on newer consoles, but it's excellent to get started into the Tomb Raider franchise, which is awesome as a whole.    … Expand

    Played this game on PC many years ago and now in 2021 on PS4Pro and it still very good. Square Enix did a great reboot. The only thing I don't like is that some magic/fantasy stuff is present in all 3 rebooted Tomb Raider games but probably it's their the only drawback.

    Lo he jugado dos veces: primero en la PS3 y después la versión remasterizada en PS4. El comienzo de una trilogía que dista bastante de la filosofía de los primeros Tomb Raider, pero que está en mi opinión, magistralmente ejecutada.
    Eso sí, hay que estar preparado para sufrir con Lara.

    Loved every minute of this game. Tomb raider 2013 has the perfect balance of a great story, good combat, fun puzzles and fun trophies (offline) imo. Online trophies suck though. All in all, this game is definitely in my top 5 games of all times and I liked it even better than the uncharted games.

    优点：

    游戏属于线性游戏，但有一定的自由探索空间，甚至还有隐藏的古墓，但古墓的解谜都太简单。除此之外还有收集和挑战，收集如果是收集劳拉的服装或者武器的外观就好了，找一堆GPS感觉没什么意义，而且在拿到区域藏宝图和点满生还者技能后，收集基本就没什么挑战了，顺着地图找就行。唯一难的是挑战，每个区域都有不同的挑战，没有位置提示，这才叫收集要素。
    音乐没有什么记忆点（好像没太多配乐，确实也不需要），音效倒是不错，枪声的回声很大，而且有立体声音效。

    缺点：
    不足的地方一个是镜头晃动有点太大容易晕，营地的菜单选项闪烁太厉害费眼睛，还有就是遇到一些影响体验的bug，ps4上面崩溃过3次，而且查看文献和收藏品界面的文字经常出现乱码（繁体中文），扣一分。
    选的普通难度，其实敌人比较蠢，两个站一起的哥们，一个被劳拉放倒了，另一个居然完全没有反应，只要没有被看到就不会被发现。老游戏这一点还是可以理解。
    人物的建模除了劳拉都差了点意思，除了过场动画，游戏过程中角色说话除了劳拉其他人嘴巴基本不动，有一个场景Samantha躺下了在睡觉，眼睛确睁很大，她一个亚洲脸，睡觉不闭眼，真的很像鬼。    … Expand

    The first ps4 game i finished on ps5. Unlike uncharted series, it got me hooked and no boring moments. Its sure is outdated playing it on ps4 but on ps5, it feels like a new game with its 60fps and im guessing its in 4k... the gameplay is super fun i like it way better than uncharted series. Going to things that i dont like... the ending where they are trying to building up the game as introductory of Lara Croft or sort of a reboot... it didn't hit the mark for me.. it didn't connect... the enemy AI is not perfect... overall, its not a perfect game but its fun ane beautiful, i want to give it an 8.4 out of 10.

    Absolutely fantastic game. Its tomb raider so its a very long running series. Story, characters are somewhat lacking but lara only is very likable. I personally enjoy this way more than the uncharted series because the replay is much higher than uncharted and that you can upgrade your weapons ij this game. Absolutely a must play for anyone that likes adventure games

    Me and alot of friends who play this have so much fun with iT.
    Graphics are very Nice and realistic and the 60 frames per second on ps4 runs smooth as butter . This is one of the best games on ps4 richt now

    Expceptional game! The story was meaningful and full of emotion. The weapon upgrades v impactful to gameplay, made finding mods and searching for scrap worthwhile. Good skill point system, basic but effective. Hint- make sure to gather all the collectibles as you progress through the storyline, not after its end, as it gives you much more backstory and understanding of the main plot.

    Almost perfect game in my opinion. Great balancing great combat great level up system the game is just fun from beginning to end. Lara is the perfect balance of Old and New Shoes I complete badass and you and when she's covered in dirt and bloody you still feel a connection with her. Definitely the high point of the series it went downhill from here.

    I first played this game in 2017 and as a trophy hunter was disappointed at the multiplayer requirements. I love the story mode and game play enough to come back in 2020 to finish off the platinum. Highly recommended that you check out guides and boost mp trophies with partners with the same trophy goals.

    Took me a long time to play it, but its nowadays totally worth it too. The Game itself is stunning and has an exceptional scenery and story. Story Was very fun and the more it goes the better it gets. The mystery about it is very interesting. I am a bit divided in my opinion about Lara.     Story

    Was very fun and the more it goes the better it gets. The mystery about it is very interesting. I am a bit divided in my opinion about Lara. I liked her looking and for the most part her relation to the environment. But her characterization is a bit to fast for me. I would have wanted a bit more time to see her grow in her struggle to survive.

    Gameplay

    All good. The shooting is fine, the riddle and tombs are very interesting and u can stealth kill most of the enemies. I would have loved if they contributed more to the survival aspect, more really necessary hunting and more.

    Scenery

    It looks really really good even in 2020. Lara is beatiful detailed and the isle has very goodlooking parts and you have some difference in it. But I would have liked more places to go to.

    Summary

    Brilliant. Finished it in a week, couldnt put it down. Good pacing, fun gameplay, goos story. A real treat, if I could but the devs of this game a beer I would. If you keen on buying, dont hesitate, you wont be disappointed.

    This is a great game with some really beautiful locations, an interesting story and a likeable main character. Maybe a bit too much of an emphasis on combat instead of exploration and tomb raiding. It doesn't seem like Lara Croft. I hope they go back to classic Lara after this trilogy. Still a definite recommend though.

    Great game! It has the the spirit of Tomb Raider, the action scenes are thrilling, and gameplay is very cool. I enjoyed one thing, which only this game has - it's very helpful to collect collectables here! Because they tell you the main plot and give you some details about what's going on here. It's very convenient and resourceful.

    When I was younger the only tomb raider I ever played was the demo on the PS1. So I was very excited about a reboot and WOW. This game was awesome. Action packed and everything I would expect in a Tomb Raider Game. The environments to the Survival Tactics. And the Bow added to her arsenal was a very nice touch. Great game

Although, i think the start was a bit slow, which is the main reason i'm giving it a 9 instead of 10. A lot of emotional scenes, which feels different (in a good way) from next games (i played ROTTR and SOTTR first).     The truth is that it is my first Tomb Raider game and I really liked the character of Lara Croft and her beginning in this new saga. The game puts you in different critical and action situations, also quite exploration.Interesting story.
    What I don't like is the technical detail, the FPS is not stable, its changes between 60fps to 40fps. It has a constant movement of the camera when moving that cannot be deactivated and the worst of all is the error that corrupts your game and you lose all the progress.     I quite liked this game but the gameplay was kinda bad sometimes. The graphics are great considering this game came out in 2014. The story is also a little bit weird at times and I didn’t understand some of it but it was still good. I love Lara Croft and think this game did a good job portraying her character.

    Adquirí este juego por que al ser fan de la saga uncharted me apetecían más aventuras de accion/búsqueda del tesoro y aunque debo decir que este juego para mi gusto no supera ni a uncharted 2 ni a uncharted 3 ha cumplido con mis espectativas, también tengo que decir que ha sido mi primer contacto con la saga.

    Juego impresionante, con unos gráficos muy buenos. Ambientación e historia excelente, varias armas con la gran utilización del arco. Lara Croft en estado puro, habiendo jugado al Rise Of The Tomb Raider y al Shadow Of The Tomb Raider, lo situaría entre medias de ambos pero más cerca de la excelencia de Rise Of The Tomb Raider. Un juego al que es imprescindible jugar.

    Very good game indeed and one of the best in the Tomb Raider franchise. Lara is the definition of badassery and strong female image, the story is awesome and the combat is great, the graphics are also very good.

    Gameplay, storytelling and Lara itself are really great. But i couldn't stand these action camera which is wiggling all the time. Because of that i couldn't play longer than 1 -2 hours because i got sick a bit. xD
    but that's probably just a personal problem.
    I also was kinda disappointed of the environment because it didn't looked like Japan. That was really sad. Still a solid game overall.

    After playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider and going back to playing this game I thought it would've lost it's appeal due to it being an older version, but that was not the case at all.     I enjoyed this game overall for a fair bit but at the time I m playing it the graphics surely got a bit old and the gameplay is with 10hrs not over the top. I think this can be done within 8hrs if    I am a little bit torn between giving a 7 or 8 but decided to get for the 8.     I did not have any bugs or frame issues on my PS4 Pro with SSD. Loading times are really fast. The presentational scripting is pretty decent and thos game play flow is not hindered too much by cut-scenes. Whoever likes Tomb Raider games will probably like this one too. Everybody else who wanders in footsteps such as Uncharted will most definitely also enjoy this game.

    I got the game on a recent sale für 5 bucks which is definitely worth it without having any doubts. The game is regularly on sale too, so if you can wait put it in your wish list and you ll probably get it within a month or too for a decent price drop.    … Expand

    I've just finished it today on PS4 - after doing it already on PC - and for me this is the best Tomb Raider ever ! The gunfights are perfect, and so is the adventure / research for all the challenges. You can go for it without asking !

The gameplay is far from perfect, the mixture of third person shooter and adventure/platforms with the Uncharted formula is fun, although I would have preferred a more polished control.     Really really liked this game! The graphic is awesome, the gameplay is amazing and the level design is really good. The game lasts about 10-12 hours. But the plot is just meh. And all those seconds characters who I barely new as they didn't present me properly don't help the plot to feel as tragic and sad as it should. But the game, in pure "game aspects" is reaaally good! Yep!

    The upstep in visual detail from the older console versions is a nice bonus, but Tomb Raider didn’t need massaging. It’s the same well-realised action reboot for Lara Croft that came as such a pleasant surprise last year. It’s still well-written, sympathetic, exciting, beautiful, and just incredibly well-made.

    I was absolutely wowed by this game the first time I played it through because I was paying so much attention to the cut scenes and redesigned Lara Croft was a joy to behold...But having had a year to sit and consider the game's broader meaning, the second time around the game's flaws are all the more apparent.
