There's also a nonexistent story full of bland characters including the protagonist, so you don't have any motivation to continue this game after a couple of hours. You can't do stealth either and the melee is totally irrelevant since it barley does any damage so you better off not to using it. The Co-op is almost the same deal. Even if you have friends on your side you can't really used them to flank the enemies for example. Plus you can't use any vehicles to travel therefore your only option is to run around the city. The only good things in it are the graphics, the animations and the atmosphere which gets boring after a while to be honest. Expand

It started good, but then it becomes pure grinding and repetition. The same enemies, the same missions. Lots of enemies are just bullet sponges. The city and graphics look nice, this game had a potential to be a lot better.

The Division may at first glance look like your typical cover system third-person shooter, but it has many RPG aspects that give it the edge. Tons of skills to use, weapons, armor, this game in terms of customization is exquisite. Shamefully, the game has several balance problems that remind me of other games of this style such as Horizon Zero Dawn or Patapon 3 (not as bad thankfully), where the recommended level of the mission is often false, and they blow you up despite exceeding it by far, the abusive grinding, or some enemies, even if they arent bosses, sometimes turn into bullet sponges, even enemies that don't seem to have any protection are inexplicably tough, and you have to shoot them like 50 rifle magazines down on their heads, while you could die with two or three shoots.
Apart from the balancing problems, I also have to present my complaints to the Dark Zone mode, which although it is very fun, it becomes a grinding mess to get the best equipment, besides that at a narrative level it does not make any sense. Why in an apocalypse would people stay in an area to fight for weapons and armor just to want to be stronger?
Despite all the criticism, The Division is a very addictive game, and that is why I give it a pretty high score, along with the great customization value, they give hours and hours of replayability. I was close to giving it a 6, but it was fun enough to give it a 7.

If I have to describe this game with few words, I would probably say it is a Hack'n Slash game (like any Diablo game), but with guns, There are just two things you do, shoot, take cover, shoot and so on. Yes, it doesn't have many variety but this isn't why this game is so good.
Because there aren't many things to think of while playing this game, this game is pretty fun and relaxing, the story is the main thing you gonna play, other game modes aren't as fun as the story because after a while, it starts to be too repetitive and you will find it boring pretty quickly.
There are some things I would improve in this game, like "be always online even if you just playing the story mode" and one thing I find it really annoying is the slow texture loading, some parts of the city textures takes really some time to load even if you have a PS4 Pro, and also some issues with imput lag, to be precise there are some occasions when the game needs more time to load or process something, and this reflects on the imput lag. You give the order to move the character wherever or to take cover, whatever you do, but the game shows that order like 2 or 3 seconds later, those problems aren't that frequent but if you find yourself in a occasion of shooting someone or anything important, this issue with problems of loading the game and imput lag, can and will be really annoying.
All in all, it is a great game, you will probably spend maybe around 80 hours or more, the game is fun and relaxing, even though the gameplay after the main story is pretty repetitive, there aren't any frame drops or bugs while playing, but it has some loading issues, but I mentioned the problem earlier in this review.

New York City during Christmas is magical. The whatif scenario (which kinda happen 4 years later) is very engaging. As a MMORPG player I'm happy to see a console compatible version come to light. The action feels good, the RPG progression feels rewarding. I spent hundreds of hours in this world and is one of my favorite games.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Well here's something I thought I'd never see happen an online only game that I actually like and the sole reason for this is because it is a story driven game yes it has the multiplayer part of the game with the Dark Zone part of the map but I have no interest in ever going on that mode of the game.

So with that with that being said the story of the game is set in New York which is on lockdown due to a pandemic that someone has caused gangs run rampant in the city and it's to division agents to find out what happened and take back the city from the gangs.

The graphics of the game is really impressive the look of the city that is in ruins to me was the best part about the graphics of the game the combat physics of the game can be a bit annoying at times but once you've mastered it the game becomes easy to play the amount places to explore and the guns to customize another key point to this game as you character experience level rises so does the enemies which means you have to find items or guns to sell in order to get better guns to match the experience level you are on the map of the game itself is massive as it should be because it set in a actual city after all.

The minor issues I have with the game is you have to be online to play it even if you have to no intentions of playing the multiplayer part of the game and at times the side missions can be the same ones over and over again but there is enough missions to do on there to keep you playing till the end.

Overall I enjoyed playing this game this might be the only online game series I'd enjoy playing because it has a story driven campaign to it and does not force you to play the multiplayer part of the game and that to me is makes this game worth playing.

The enemies are all the same and take an entire magazine to kill. The bosses are even worse and lack any interesting/memorable features. They're just boring bullet-sponges as many others have mentioned. Not that much weapon variety either, just the same guns with different stats. If you want to compare, it's like Destiny 2 without the diverse environments, enemy variety, weapon variety, and with inferior controls.

On the flip side, the feel of the guns is pretty good, and the city is fairly detailed. I can see how it could be fun if you did everything with friends. But for someone who's just trying this several years later after picking it up for $4.99, it's very hard to enjoy. I ended up returning it after 2 days.

I would say the number one drawback is that the majority of weapons and builds in the game are rather useless and at endgame you see people using only a couple of different weapons (The House, Lightweight M4/LVOA-C mostly) and builds (Nomad/Pred in PvP, Striker/Lonestar in PvE, Reclaimer's are always prevalent). The thing is, this is every game ever though. There are always a few skills or weapons a cut above the rest and I would say The Division has done as good of a job for permitting as much creativity in builds as is possible. There are endless hybrid builds you can make use of, some of which are very creative and very effective, and there is a lot of grinding to be done. Expand

This game gives you mixed feelings, but mostly negative ones.

I'll analyze WHY as a proficient end-game player at gear score 290. If you play this game for long enough, it will give you three-stage feelings: 1. This game gives you mixed feelings, but mostly negative ones.

I'll analyze WHY as a proficient end-game player at gear score 290.

If you play this game for long enough, it will give you three-stage feelings:
    1. Frustrating: Before reaching level 30, this game is considered hard, you'll have to do lots of missions and skill stuff to NOT to be killed by a bullet-sponge enemy.
    2. Entertaining: After reaching level 30, you'll start getting classified gears and have a feeling that enemies are easier to kill, but still they are huge sponges.
    3. Unfulfilling: You want to collect all classified gears, but you'll find out that the RNG in this game is deliberately designed, so that you'll never get a full classified gear by ONLY doing LZ boss farming or Global Events or other things like that. It will keep giving you some specific classified gears and you'll notice lots of duplicates.

In short, the more you want to collect a full set of classified gears, the more frustrating you will be. If you want to play this game, don't be a perfectionist, otherwise you'll waste lots of time.

The only pro of this game is graphics, otherwise I can think of nothing.

Details of RNG in this game: Although the official said the chance of dropping classified gears is 6% atm, they didn't say anything about WHAT kinds of gears to drop. I kept farming LZ bosses and use a sheet to record the drops. I noticed that I hadn't have any new classified gear drops after about 50 times of farming, 50 times! There are 15 bosses, so statistically it should drop about 1 classified gear in one farm. But still nothing new after 50 times. There are always about 2-3 classified gears in any set that I will never have a chance to get.

I can understand why they designed RNG like this, because they want the players to participate in all kinds of activities and keep playing as a proficient player in the team. So skilled players like me or you now can attract more novice players just like you and me in the past and that means sustained income, because they've got servers and developers to feed, of course.

    Ok ... here it is:
    1. The JTF NPC suck ... they do nothing. These NPC that are on your side are not helping at all. The enemies just ignore the them and come straight at you full force. Instead of distracting them a little bit (the don't have to do a lot of damage), the enemies just pretend they are not there and come straight at you. This makes some missions impossible to finish solo style.
    2. Crafting weapons is futile. No matter how hard you try to craft a weapon, the vendor will always have a weapon or gear that is far superior than the one you are able to craft. So, why crafting when you can buy a better weapon?!
    3. Considering this is a Ubisoft game, the graphics are not that bad.
    4. The story is interesting.
    5. The shooting is excellent. The recoil is realistic and easily adaptive with no aim-assist.
    6. It is worth a time to play it all the way; play all the missions and encounters.
    7. I miss stealth, but on second-thoughts, stealth does not fit in this pictures, so ... it is better that it doesn't have stealth.

Even though the Division 1 lacks some things i will play it all the way and i will play the Division 2. The game overall is fun and is worth the time.

I've played games for a long time and this is the absolute worst game I've ever played. Enemies take 1000 bullets before they die and you get hit once while behind cover and die instantly. Definitely an engaging and enjoyable take on the MMO world. Satisfying combat, really great re-created new york, and some chilling story elements about a weird and desperate world. Much better with friends, but can work if you're solo. Looking forward to the second instalment in 2019. Only cons are it becomes a little repetitive.

    pros:
    Graphics
    skills
    gun customization
    challenging missions
    dark zone

    cons:
    bad dialogue for some characters
    repetitive encounters

I really liked the game at first, but It frustrated me more than anything, and this is not what I want to be feeling when playing a GAME.
It takes 25 bullets to kill 1 enemy (or 5 headshots), the aim is completely off, especially when guys with baseball bats run at you, they always seem to dodge for some reason. It takes you 8 bullets to kill them but they kill you with 2 baseball bat

Melee (for your player) is terrible! just a measly kinda back hand small hit, nothing that will do any damage to your opponent though. No way to sneak and strangle, or brawl. Is that what they teach these supposedly highly trained, last resource soldiers?
you die, and have to start from zero...
Thanks but the 6 hours demo was enough for me to decide to buy another game, this game is totally out of whack and not enjoyable.

High end gear is extremely difficult and rare to find. Crafting is , to be honest, a joke as you can not craft nothing decent unless you spend 300,000 dark zone points and need to be lvl 75 in the dark zone. Multiplayer nerfs lover gear score players as group quickly kick any player with a low gear score which , in essence, means ubisoft is acutely rewarding players who have used the cheats and exploits to get the best gear.
The utter lack of thought that ubisoft has approached the end game with is shocking, and please remember this game was 4 years in the making!!! Every update they are tweaking and changing things. Upon launch named weapons were considered the best, after the update they are nothing short of a joke.
Save you money. DON'T BUY THE SEASON PASS!!! Get another game, hopefully something non ubisoft so they can't screw it up!

At best the game could be described as unambitious but to be honest I've simply found it downright boring. The cover based shooting is functional, but its not even close to being as good as something like Gears of War, and the RPG elements just turn everything into a grind (and don't get me started on the bullet sponge enemies). Add in an instantly forgettable storyline and 6 hours is about as much of The Division as I can take.

The developers were very slow to tap its potential, and while still more than two years fixing it they haven’t reached the peak, they have accomplished almost most of it. Unfortunately, it’s already too late for people who have abandoned the game, that makes the game less profitable and sends resources to other paths instead of perfecting the game. While they finally got the loot, the balancing and activities right, the developers never got to fix their crown jewel, the Dark Zone. PvP is a toxic mess that counters everything the game is set to do, and not for everyone, but it’s there if you want to try it. Fortunately, those who want to avoid the Dark Zone and PvP in general, now have plenty of activities to do. The community on PC is all but depleted, so I recommend the PS4 if you want to easily matchmake for the surprisingly long list of activities the game has gathered through the years. I believe at this stage, the developers should capitalize on the positive changes, and lower the sticker price of the game significantly, avoid paying full price for it at all cost, but do buy it. Main Story is few cutscenes long and the story characters didn't catch my interest at all, i have played the game around 55 hours trying to get to max level to see if the end content is anything to look forwards to.

But now i feel like i've seen enough, i've done 94% story mission already which maybe 93% are encounter missions or side missions that play the same way (no cutscenes, only straight up "go there secure and kill") all the time and the remaining 1% is cutscenes that probably last 25min in total tops

The game implements them well so far, but at times it can be frustrating. One of my first major fights came early in the form of a boss battle. The boss had goons alongside him, and the fight escalated quickly with me retreating often. As a matter of fact, I was pushed all the way to the entrance to the rooftop where this fight took place. Needless to say I died a lot. Most of this game is pretty balanced, but occasionally you will find yourself overwhelmed. The game will show no mercy at times hitting you with unbeatable amounts of strong enemies, and nowhere to take cover. Over all the game has had many ups with only a handful of downs, but when it hits you with the downs it will hit you hard. Overall I am having fun with this game, and I will do another review once I have reached max level. If you can get this game on sale I would highly recommend it. With a few notable exceptions, every mission plays out exactly the same as the previous one, due to of the reuse of bosses and lack of distinct locations, which is one of my main issues with this game. The Division doesn't do anything that feels new or unique or interesting. The best open-world games will put some sort of interesting twist on the usual formula, like in Horizon: Zero Dawn there was an excellent combat system for the dinosaurs. In Breath of the Wild there were a lot of creative interlocking mechanics that resulted in tons of moments that were very organic, not to mention being able to run straight to the end of the story mode added a sense of realism to an otherwise very whimsical world. The Witcher 3 added branching story mechanics that aren't often seen in open-world games, and as a result, the story itself felt very vast. The Division really doesn't try to do anything extremely ambitious, and as a result the game ends up suffering because it sometimes feels like it could be any other Ubisoft sandbox game. It plays out every trope that's been used in every other game and does those all acceptably well, but then forgets to add anything new. It has the base of a good game but fails to do anything more than the very basics, yet the base is still there, and despite its numerous shortcomings, the game at points does improve upon the usual formula. The overworld is extremely detailed and even if the rewards are very surface-level, it does feel much more exciting to explore than other games. Even some very old mechanics are improved here, for example the gun mechanics are simple, but add an element of strategy through the turrets the player can set up, and this really brings life to the more played out aspects of the game. Also, I've never played it, I've heard that playing with friends is good. This game is extremely recycled, but due to the small improvements it makes, I didn't end up thinking the game was a complete waste of time, more just a slight improvement on a genre that's been beaten to death by greedy corporations, so I'm going to give the Division a 5 out of 10. This is one of the worst games I ever played. The game is visually beautiful (but empty), but all the budget apparently went into graphics, because it has the worst gameplay of any game I have ever played. Enemies literally take hundreds of bullets to take down (and you fight wave upon wave). Your character is killed with a single bullet or two, or one swing from a baseball bat (which you almost can't avoid, because you MUST reload at least twice to kill the enemy charging with a bat, and he kills you when you go for your second clip). The controls are also terrible. You try to run towards a door to escape the horde of enemies, but the camera "jostles" and you run into a wall instead. This results in death as it takes 20 seconds or so to turn around, line up the door again, and try to run. Yuck. Even worse, he developers crowed that this was a "great" single-player experience (you absolutely, positively can not play this game solo), but that was just a lie. This is the worst game I ever played, but the graphics are amazing and the concept has such great potential. But the gameplay is so bad, it remains the purchase I most regret in more than 15 years of gaming. Expand

How does this game have an 80 percent? It sucks. I have no clue why people except this as a passable game. It's loaded with problems that so many people have failed to address or have just flat-out ignored.

The game was completely unplayable at launch, as I spent 2 hours trying to join get in a server. Even when I finally got in, I had to wait in an in-game line to access a terminal that only one player can use at time. That's right. A f*cking line. In a video game. And it only got worse from there.

Luckily, the problems at launch were fixed quickly, so I'll give them credit there. However, that didn't fix the other problems. First, the story, which is boring and uninteresting, but honestly, I saw that coming. Second, the monotony. The Division is the most repetitive game I've ever played. Mission after mission, all you're doing is going from point A to point B and killing dudes in hoodies, who are the most bullet-sponge enemies I've ever encountered in a game. The bosses aren't much better, and are pretty much just more powerful dudes in hoodies. To give you an idea of how bland the enemies and bosses are, the final boss is a helicopter.

Then there's the Dark Zone, the single worst part of the game. The Dark Zone was planned to be a PVP area where players could battle it out for special loot. However, when you kill someone in the Dark Zone, you're marked rogue, and every player on the map can see you, so you become a giant target for people to come and kill. Because of the AI coming to kill you, it actually benefits you more to work together, which means you're doing the exact same thing in the Dark Zone as you were doing in the main game.

Lastly, there's the endgame, which happens when you get to level 30. What you get is daily missions and some extra loot. I tried one of these missions and realised it was exactly the same as every other mission I had done before, so I dropped out of it quickly.

Overall, The Division is probably the worst game Ubisoft has ever released, and one of the worst games I've ever played. It's not completely broken, but it's still really bad. I can't recommend it to anyone, unless you like repetitive gameplay.

Right away, the game visually grabbed me, with its very terrifying and realistic scenario of a biological catastrophe in New York City. This, to me looked as though there was a gripping narrative to be had here. In some ways, there IS and then THERE ISN'T.

What I was hoping for was that main campaign story, of struggle, survival and restoration of order, it wasn't even present. Instead, it's detached into collectibles that serve as tiny morsels and less of a main course potential for a great story. Sure, most of us have been through the dystopian song and dance far too much.

But let's face it, these types of stories are their own sub-genre in fiction. (So you get what you ask for.) Honestly, I felt like I was headed to party hoping for a good spread of food, only to have a few horderves and no drink selection. Despite this, the story does convey the drama well using various methods of presentation, such as security cam footage and audio files that paint a clearer picture of what happens in the Big Apple, before and after the virus hits the streets.

Looking deeper at what actually happens during the game as a result of how the city crumbles piece by piece from political structure to society at its heart, is a fascinating topic. Unfortunately, that required me to be dedicating hours upon hours tracking 500+ collectibles needed to give me the full picture. (Which I did not do, stopping at around 50% with that )

Gameplay wise, it plays pretty smoothly and there are plenty of cool weapons, some gadgets and a variety of explosives to use on the gangs and rioters you encounter. It almost felt like it was developed very similar to the Mass Effect 3 multiplayer section. Damage is calculated through stats and that focus on 3 areas in order to make each player semi unique. It took a little bit to fully understand it, but once I did, there wasn't any problem getting used to managing my gear. Sure, a system has a ton of factors that make it look like a mess.
What bothered me the most, was that there wasn't any manner as it which my player was affected by the virus. ESPECIALLY when entering contaminated areas! I know this is a game, tailored to a wide specturm of gamers. But COME ON, I doubt a mask and a well suited up soldier is going to protect you from infection. At least it woud've been nice to have it as a gameplay mechanic, as there wasn't any real challenge when entering those hot spots.
Visually and musically, the game has its moments with that give a similar feel to John Carpenter's "Escape from New York". Overall the portrayal of the chaos and destruction was the high point of the game! Bodies and trash bags are strewn throughout the city more plentiful than the rats, which is explained due to the NYC sanitation leaving their actual "duties" to do other things and the CDC/Government being too overwhelmed with the body count.

In the end, Division burns you out, as it's gameplay and loot system was VERY addictive, until it just got to be enough and decided to say, "screw it" and finish the campaign.

DLC wise, the Division has a bit more to offer for the dedicated players. First, Underground adds to the single player and co-op, which seems enticing but will wait for a later date, when I feel like going back to it. But I'm sure it worth a look at if you're interested in more campaign content. Second is

Survival, which I honestly couldn't even get an active game going through matchmaking, which really required me to get a group together and do it. That never happened for me, but maybe I'll get an update at a later time.

Last is, Last Stand, which is the PROPER multiplayer experience for the Division, outside of "The Dark Zone" Which is essentially "Capture the Base", with Division's on twist on the game type. Personally, I probably regretted getting the Season Pass, despite it being on sale for $15, which is sad, really.

Personally, the experience was enjoyable and kept me into the game. It presented itself pretty well as a dystopian fiction, overall. But truly lacked that narrative power and kept the gameplay in a safe, AAA title sort of way; vice doing some things that woud've made this a phenominal experience had they taken the chances.

    Overview
Now that the first person shooter market is over run with the same old same old vibe of games it seems third person shooters won’t be out done. With game such as Tomb Raider, Gears of war, and Uncharted setting the bar very high there is little room for error. If that weren’t enough, Tom Clancy’s name and license has all but run its course. Recent games like Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and Rainbow Six Under Siege haven’t done much to uphold the good name of both Ubisoft, and Tom Clancy. With The Division, Ubisoft looks to change this.
    Story
On Black Friday, a smallpox pandemic, transmitted by a virus planted onto banknotes, sweeps through New York City. The disease, called "Green Poison" and "The Dollar Flu", causes widespread chaos, and Manhattan is placed under quarantine. The U.S. Government activates sleeper agents in the population who operate for the Strategic Homeland Division, or simply "The Division", to assist emergency responders, in restoring order. The Division’s story is a deep and intriguing one and satisfyingly unfolds at a slow but nice pace. It was a very smart move by Ubisoft to include a story in this game. Without it things would totally revolve around online play. Games like Evolve and Destiny suffer greatly from an absent story so when a gamer’s internet is down things get boring pretty fast.
    Graphics
The Division has so much going for it graphically that it’s frustrating to see the hiccups that the game goes through. First off, this game at a glance is breath taking. The care and detail given to the city of New York is impressive. Cars react to being shot nicely. Snow and other weather physics are nothing short of amazing. Shadows, lighting, and other little touches are remarkable. With a clean and crisp HUD gamers will easily become immersed as fights unfold throughout the city of Manhattan. Just as quick as you admire the visuals, you doubly will become frustrated. Numerous graphical glitches and bugs plague this great looking game. Clipping, map texturing, and pop ups happen far too frequently. With a game this graphically sophisticated a few hiccups are expected, but it happens way too often.
    Gameplay
The game play is a mix of several games. There are elements of Borderlands, Destiny, and GTA to name a few. You’ll basically be playing an MMO. You build stats buy gear and earn loot. You take control of your agent scour the city in hopes of helping citizens or securing drop zones much like dying light. Unlike Dying Light your best bet is to work with a squad because going at any mission alone is borderline suicide. You dodge, run, and shoot your way through the city. Things are simple and satisfying, but as the game progresses the mastery of your character becomes deep and rewarding. The loot system is a bit broken, but then again what console MMO isn’t? The game lets you create your own character but as you venture online you quickly learn that there isn’t much depth in this area as hordes of online players resemble each other. Load times are an absolute pain in the butt. You will be sitting through cut scenes only to be greeted with black screens as the next area loads. To sum things up the game is fun but gets old real quick.
    Sound
The sound is quite impressive but music itself is absent. The guns sound realistic and other ambient sound fills in the gaps. Sadly music is missing while you play…what’s left is dead silence until either a huge battle or a cut scene takes place. Don’t expect much by the way of sound.
    Replay Value

The replay value is high mostly due in part to the online fun that can be had. You team up with friends and or strangers to tackle the challenges Manhattan gives you. Enter the dead Zone and duke it out with other players, or do the unthinkable and GO ROUGE. The potential for endless fun is there, but unfortunately things get repetitive real fast. The division has potential to be played for years, but what hampers this is the same thing that plagues many games these days. In a word that thing is GREED. It seems publisher’s first concern now-a-days is how can they drain your pockets of every dollar you have. Can’t earn it? Why not buy it? Want weapons or gear that even the odds? Why not buy it? You want DLC after DLC but no bugs fixed? Why not buy it?

Much like Destiny this game comes off as no more than a cash cow. It’s a great game to play online with friends for a while but it soon becomes apparent that you have been there and done it in many other mediocre shooters. So the Division doesn’t do much to set itself apart from those aforementioned titles. The Division is a decent rental but it would be hard to recommend it for purchase, as you will undoubtedly spend way more than the 59.99 price tag in the long run. With that said the division gets a 5 out of 10.

I bought the Division on a whim, with some extra cash I had lying around, seeing the hype that it was generating near its launch. I regret every penny of that purchase. I know I am not this cruel with my reviews, and usually always seem to find good in a game, but I find absolutely no appeal in the Division. And for the fan of MMOs that I am, that is quite the feat.

Listen, i'm sure the Division is fun if you have some friends. Although I have a few, none of them bought the game, or at least didn't play it. I went solo for the entirety of the experience, and did not enjoy any of it. The game just kinda starts with a paper-thin backstory, and then continues to take through a series of repetitive trials veiled by a plot so thin it appears invisible from the side. And i have to say, for an MMORPG, this game failed in the character creation aspect. There is no reason to make more than one character, unless you like endless cover shooting and bullet sponge enemies.

The guns all feel samey, and the gear customization does not extend farther than the overall look of "dude in a hoodie." The game does look beautiful, i can give it that, but that may be the only positive I can cite. I found most of the slog pointless, and at the end, it all just felt like a pointless timekiller. The game wasn't engaging, it didn't engross me in it's world, it didn't give me a memorable experience, there just was nothing to make me like it. That may be the problem actually. It's not that there's bad things; there's just no good things. 2/10

The gameplay was fine at first but devolved into bullet sponge hell. Without friends to co op with the singleplayer becomes nearly unplayable as you have to take down way too many way too powerful bullet sponges. The Dark Zone is worthless and the end game leaves so much to be desired. It's the epitome of just alright and horrible as a loot game.

New York looks stunning, even in the decrepit state after the Virus. Your main guy can be customised, but most ppl look the same. However this rarely makes a difference as were not here on a modelling shoot !!

weapons and added gear is spot on and levels up with you, and the DLC is fantastic, and it shows the developers have taken time to correct any problems and errors.
Even though, im still playing it, were still getting add ons, DLC and patches and its s till a lot of fun.
Dark Zone can be a pain, but it asks you to take the risk, and the gear sets can be notoriously hard to get, but still, its enjoyable and best played with friends, to make the most of all the abilities and perks and talents.

having everyone as a medic is rarely enjoyable.
get your medic, cover enhancement, couple of turrets and explosive grenades going, and your a force to be reckoned with.

After Destiny, which a few ppl are comparing this to, i find this far more enjoyable, and im still sticking with it. Destiny just came and passed me by, and hardly as much fun to play, and seemed far more repetitive, where as this game knows what it is, and doesnt spawn the same DLC over and over, asking to dress up even better, ooooh .
sorry, bit of a rant then

Come a few days ago I noticed just that and got the game and the Survival dlc. The base game is a pretty decent bit of fun. Worth the 25 I got for it but certainly not 60. But that's not why I am giving it a 0. It's the Survival dlc. At this very moment the only impression I get from this dlc was that I was scammed. I legitimatley feel like I was decieved into buying it. The reason why is because I thought I was buying a game I could actually play. However, the dlc content doesn't even **** work. At all. 0 seconds worth of gameplay.

I go to the portion of the world where I can access and play the dlc. However I am blocked by an error that reads "This content is not currently installed, would you like to download and install now?" Now this would be normal if I had not done that already. So what the hell I select to install anyways and all I get is a "Please wait..." type message for which results in jack **** I have spend a couple hours trying for a fix such as uninstalling and reinstalling, **** the licenses, deleting the cache yadayadayada nothing worked.

Now it was time for me to spend hours scavenging the internet for any info on how to fix to the issue. The best I could come up with was a an ubisoft forum discussing the issue in great detail and a very helpful user by the name of FireOwneD (user was not an ubisoft employee. The Ubisoft employees however were very clueless and useless :D ) who provided a work-around that works for some. But, it didn't work for me unfortunately.

By this time I have spent several hours trying to just play one second of this dlc I paid for and probably wont get a refund on. All the while I'm thinking "I'm spending the better portion of my day off trying to **** a dev issue so glaringly blatant it shouldn't have occured in the first place" But hey here I am. This dlc have been out for a couple weeks for PS4 and a month and a half for XONE and this issue has been occuring for XONE users as well. How in the world wide **** has this not been properly addressed yet? I know Ubisoft is practically known for it's buggy, lazy **** games but with this they managed to top themselves by creating content that doesn't even work from the get-go. Somehow I almost feel stupid because I have bought Ubisoft games in the past and got **** like this. I hope Ubisoft is reading this so I can say: **** you Ubisoft. GG you got me again. **** you so hard your grandmother probably gets pregnant. I hate you.

The Division is a third person shooter action-MMO. The premise of the game is that someone has released an engineered supervirus in New York City. You are a member of The Division, a top-secret organization of sleeper agents who are activated to help bring order to the city.

And here we already run into our first issue – why? Why are we sleeper agents, and not just ordinary citizens who have decided to help? Because we’re super badasses and they wanted to justify that? How would random schmucks who spend most of their time doing other things all be super badasses?

    Whatever.

The point is, you are going into New York City and establishing order by killing rioters, looters, sanitation workers, criminals, and private military company folks who are all trying to take over the city. And yes, the sanitation workers thing is not a joke; they walk around with flamethrowers on their backs trying to clean things up.

Alas, despite this pretend-variety, in reality, most enemies fight pretty similarly – there’s some difference with the sanitation workers (the cleaners) because of their flamethrowers, but otherwise the factions are largely interchangeable, save for the fact that the PMC faction has medics.

The enemies are mostly pretty samey. There’s a handful of special enemy types, but they are basically ordinary enemies with some added ability, save for the snipers, who just attack you at long range. The only real exceptions are some “unique” enemies, who are anything but unique but which have more health and sometimes play a bit more differently, with a couple of big, heavy characters and one who carries around a shield to block your attacks with.

Sadly, this “variety” is pretty minimal compared to the gameplay length, and by the end of it, you will have fought all of these enemies to the point where it becomes rote.

The Division is a new kind of MMO – a primarily single-player experience wherein you will never encounter another player in most of the game area due to almost the entire world being an instanced area for the player alone. You can play with other people at will, but you can also play it as a single-player experience, and frankly, it works just fine as one and doesn’t feel like it gets much added to it from multiplayer. That being said, that’s not really a good or bad thing – it is about the same quality either way, and unfortunately, that quality is rather low.

The real problem is the sameiness. The game is ultimately just a cycle of you going out and killing enemies to get better loot. The dungeons are just a series of battles with enemies which are, frankly, mostly interchangeable with battles you get into wandering around the city streets, save that sometimes there are reinforcements which join the battles. The quests, too, basically follow the same mold, and ultimately the game consists of “defend a location while enemies attack you in waves” and “attack enemies who are defending a location”. Basically the whole game follows this, and there is very little variety – what little variety there is mostly a function of the particular environment, and even there, there are a number of copy-pasted environments, including a sewer fight that I think I had five separate times.

The story is pretty bland – in theory, it is a neat idea, but in practice, you just don’t have any link to any of the characters (being a mute protagonist) and they’re all fairly generic. None of them are terribly voice-acted or get terrible lines, they’re just bland and lack any real depth. As such, there’s no reason to care about their plight. The civilians are all interchangeable, and there’s just so little to grab onto anywhere in the game.

All in all, this is just not worth your time.

The division tells the story about a smallpox pandemic that wreaks havoc on black Friday…
You’re part of the division, sent in by the US government to assist emergency responders and restore order.
The game starts in Brooklyn but opens up when you enter Manhattan…
This game is online only and is absolutely brutal…
Probably one of the hardest if not hardest third person shooter I’ve ever played…
If you’re playing by yourself… you’re not making it to the end unless you’re a 360 no scope mlg pro..
I am not... so I teamed up with a squad the entire way….
But this isn’t your typical 3rd person shooter…
    There are no head shots...
Enemies have hp rather than just being vulnerable humans... they’re armored up and bullet spongy…
I didn’t realize the type of game this was at first so I felt frustrated, only to remind myself borderlands is the same way…
So this is more or less a 3rd person borderlands with none of the color or humor…
My Love for the Division slowly grew on me… and I did eventually fall in love…
But halfway through the game, my love evaporated.
In the division you can explore the city of Manhattan either alone or with a crew of up to 4 players, there are 19 main story missions in this game that increasingly have a higher level requirement…
Each mission will give you roughly 1 level.. And you also gain xp from killing enemies, doing side missions, discovering new locations and finding collectibles…
And at first this feels great...
You’ll run down the street and run into an encounter and help whoever out and move on to the mission you were heading too…
You gain your first 5 levels without even trying…
Then you’re doing mission after mission... killing these insanely tough enemies… picking up their dropped weapons, finding loot and armor..
Getting supplies to work on the different wings of your base to unlock new skills and abilities...
Assigning these abilities to your 2 and eventually 3 ability slots…
It’s so frustrating and so addictive at the same time…
Coming up with strategies with your teams mates during tough sections..
    Providing health, cover, and distraction…
This is why it’s important to play with others…
On your own you can’t be revived… enemies do take less damage... but it isn’t worth being sent back to a checkpoint each time you die to an area of respawned enemies…
You’re heading into the dark zone to look for contaminated but more powerful loot, killing other players to increase your dark zone level to leave with better gear
And you’re halfway through the game..
You’re level 13... The next missions enemies are level 16 no big deal…
You’ve got your awesome crew... you can handle anything.
    Nope.
You can’t play missions more than 2 levels ahead of you… and by the way... from the halfway point forward... every single mission is going to be 3 levels ahead of you
No big deal, levels have been handing out levels…
Surely side missions and encounters and collectibles will do the same.
    They don’t.
XP is so insanely slow in this game and I’m convinced there’s only a leveling system here to slow the player down... to make them do the boring side stuff instead of shoot their way through these hour long main missions….
There’s really nothing else to explain it…
It isn’t to make you more powerful in battle…
Fights are just as hard from the start as they are at the end... Enemies level with you…. And most of the time unless you grind with the boring stuff are even 2 plus levels ahead
And it isn’t to unlock perks or new weapons... because you get all of this from enemies and completing main stories…
You can replay mast missions on hard mode for better loot.. but it rewards to xp at the end which is complete nonsense…
Level requirements for main missions kill pacing…
and the laughably small amount of xp you get for killing enemies which by the way is the exact same you get for killing a boss is even more of a joke.
There’s not a chance you’ll level up mid story mission…
It’s not happening you’re gonna be just as weak in the final boss battle as you were going in…
The combat here is extremely fun though and offers a great deal of variety in its perks, weapons, and mods to make your character feel like yours…
I’m not sure why they smack you with a wall halfway through and force you to do the fetch quest nonsense around Manhattan
The division takes some time to grow on you.. And once it finally does it turns into an unfun forced grind. I Give the Division an 8.0/10

Since you die with one shot from them vs 10-20 from you, doesn't seem fair. Should be 1 shot 1 kill if a head shot. You can't play offline, you can rummage thru trash and have several routes to the same location very little stealth. Needs to be more like a sniper game. You don't just walk upright and hope NOT to be spotted. Would be a great game if it was just more thought out, you areSince you die with one shot from them vs 10-20 from you, doesn't seem fair. Juego bastante entretenido

Shallow is the perfect description. It has no substance, no quality, just a shallow safe-play cash grab. Nothing new to see from any genre - as a shooter, rpg shooter, mmo-esque destiny type, or even video games in general. Quests, characters, story, npc's, ability tree, upgrades, gameplay styles - the total package here people, all are a resounding... eh. Forgettable and highly deletable.Shallow is the perfect description. It has no substance, no quality, just a shallow safe-play cash grab. It won't win converts to the genre and the plot is problematic, but The Division is a handsome open-world offering, spiked with treachery. [May 2016, p.81]

That's the essential nature, and essential problem, of The Division's underlying structure. It's asking you to hunt gear with no tangible reward in terms of what you can do, how you do it, or what you look like doing it. [May 2016, p.108]

It builds a strong foundation on the gameplay front, offering up rewarding combat and simple skills, but doesn’t follow that with anything substantial, being content to let the standard end game grind and excellent-yet-stressful PVP try to cover all the questions its writing leaves you with.
