Division 2 nailed what it means to be a looter shooter in an open world environment - and I haven't even reached the first dark zone area. It looks great, feels great, and 4 hours melted away without any regret or feeling of boredom.

ANYONE leaving this title a 0, did not play the game or has some form of an agenda - do NOT trust those reviews at all.

AT THE VERY LEAST - this game deserves a SOLID 7 even from its toughest critics as the foundation of a fun looter shooter is not only present but THRIVING.

This is not a title to miss.

Those 0 reviews aren’t really reviews it’s people who just don’t like Ubisoft or something like that. If you bought this game and hate that is on you. There is a ton of gameplay videos watch them before you buy. Don’t bean ass, buy the game, say you hate, then review bomb it, and ask for a refund because you didn’t take the time to see how the game plays.

The game itself, is much better then the last one. The demo was amazing for a demo, unlike another big name game. The mechanics are the same but much improved. The first Division was a great game with the updates. This takes all that to a new level. The little differences are cool. Like the backpack keychains, other landmarks used as a safe instead just a building, and etc. The weapons and gear have improved the most. The gear now starting at the green level has perks if you wear multiple pieces. Mods now can be equip to more then one weapon, which is great. I would get tired of having to remove mods from one weapon to put on another.

The game all around has made great strides. The bad reviews are people who didn’t pay attention to videos and gameplay that was released before they bought the game. So don’t listen to them. This is a great game and if Ubisoft does what it did with the first Division with Division 2 we are in for a treat. If you actually stuck around with the first game and now what you in a Division game Buy This Game!!!! I purposely bought the ultimate edition for the extras plays early access. Enjoy Agents. Let’s take out some blacktusks, hyenas, and the rest.

I thought leaving New York's snowy and cold streets would be tough, but Ubisoft Massive came through and did a hell of a job on recreating a post-pandemic Washington D.C. One that is both tragically beautiful and also fun to explore. The gunplay is solid and each gun packs a punch. There are many different playstyles to work towards with each serving their own purpose. I find myself experimenting with every new gun I pick up. My only real gripe is the sound design, not sure if it is a bug or intended to be this way, but when it rains, you can barely hear it unless you have it all the way up and are standing near a car where the rain would hit the roof. I would highly recommend this game for anyone that is a fan of loot/shoot games, this is the one that will define the genre. Expand

Ubisoft learned from their mistakes, and put their best foot forward, zero regressions in the sequel at launch, with the promise of the growth and support for post launch content that we expect. I'll briefly give my take on three aspects: Game at launch, systems improved for end game, & realistic potential.

The game at launch, visuals are improved enough that it does look closer to how it was shown at the reveal back in the day. Story is still what you expect from a Tom Clancy persistent open world looter shooter, and for my money its good that they go heavy on the environmental story telling, they use a unique style and it allows for a mystery to remain, it's never been a broken story like other looters, but it forces you to find aspects of the story rather than force feeding it in traditional methods. Character progression through skills, loot, etc are fantastic, this is really an area the game shines, all systems are vastly improved and have layers and versatility for RPG fans. True living world, again the systems they've added and improved prove they listen to the community, the settlements and factions interact in enough ways to allow the world to feel organic and it's dark enough and beautiful enough to be a place I want to remain for a long time for a hobby.

The end game systems, as discussed in state of the game in early March 2019, are brilliant; they really went the extra mile, control points, assassination missions, daily and weekly missions, deck of 52, these are managed by faction leadership having a management logic AI that gives more realistic randomization and has their own fluctuating resources to use, and it changes based on your actions throughout the world, so there's more layers interacting realistically than any other looter shooter.

The potential for this game going forward is off the charts, with 8 player raids, clans, multiple dark zones, multiplayer modes all being around a launch, and I'm sure we know that the other modes we had in D1 will be added...think of how strong D1 got after 1.8, and imagine how much better D2 already is out of the gate, now add survival, resistance, subway, and more raids. Also the changes to dark zone should give the ability for people to not get alienated and also let the hardcore go to the no rules DZ...welcome to the thunderdome!

The weakest systems were reworked, the enemies were rebalanced, and the setting fleshed out in a way that makes it a positive instead of a "meh".

They obviously listened to players and put the time and effort into taking the franchise to the next level instead of merely repackaging it in order to sell a few more copies.....

The Division 2 exceeded my expectations in almost every way. Like i said, its still the Division but its a more refined, more fun game......and with the road map laid out, and all future content free, its a pretty easy buy if you found the franchise worth your time during its lesser first release.

The Loot: This game rewards exploration and gunning down enemies with loot, lots of loot. As looter shooters go, this one does what it is meant do with plenty of loot to upgrade and guns dropping off enemies regularly. LootThe Loot: This game rewards exploration and gunning down enemies with loot, lots of loot. Why other games that are more frugal with their loot don't take a leaf out of this game. Players want to be rewarded with new, better, shinier items. So give it to us! Loot is varied and has lots of different stats. So far, I'm very happy.

Gameplay: I've enjoyed it for the most part. There are times where you get suddenly rushed from a new wave and find yourself in a position where you are just surrounded without being able to do anything. Also the cover mechanic can cause problems at times. Playing alone is very difficult and finding a group through matchmaking can be tricky if you want to complete side missions and events. When everything is working well, you have a good group and you are taking on the main missions or side missions together, it's really fun.

Technical issues: I have had the game crash about 3-4 times in about ten hours (on PS4 pro) I have also experienced the odd frame rate drop, enemy gliding across the floor, etc... There was also a freeze when trying to examine clans and looking at friends' clans.

Overall: This is obviously early impressions. I will need to play much more to give a comprehensive endgame review. The gun play is fun. There is enough variety and challenge from the AI to keep things varied. Like I say, some of the ways enemies just appear all around you can make things messy and that doesn't lend itself to the cover based shooter it is trying to be. With a group its really fun. Solo, it can get very frustrating because as you level up things get too hard on your own. There are going to be obvious comparisons with Anthem. I personally prefer this as someone who is keen on creating builds and love looters. This to me is more of a looter. you can see your gear as soon as you pick it up and it drops frequently better stuff. I'd give it an 8 now but potential to get a 9 if the endgame is there.

Currently, the game seems a little more challenging. The AI is definitely improved, and actively attempts to flank more frequently than DIvision 1's AI.

Inventory management is improved, though attachments are potentially one of the only side-grades from Division 1 - each attachment has a positive AND negative effect (almost in equal measure, sometimes). Early on, I've found this sometimes negates bonus to little overall gain.

When playing with my friend during early access, he made the comment, "This is sort of like the games we used to be excited for." I can't agree more. There's content here. It feels like it's a worthwhile product, right out of the "box."

If you didn't like Division 1, you won't like Division 2. But it does sound like Massive really listened to the fanbase and made meaningful improvements on their already-existing system. Because the project is attached to Ubisoft, however, expect plenty of illegitimate/fake bomb reviews.

I definitely recommend this game for people who either liked the later iterations of Division 1 patches, or for those who are looking for a fleshed-out looter shooter!

I also like the way NPCs approach you, you need to think twice on your approach and know when you can attack or when step back or they will flank you. NPCs always look for advantageous positioning. Enemies are less bullet spongy than in the previous entry and that's good. Just know the weak points of enemy bosses and some NPCs with armor. That helps a lot!

The game design and graphics are great! The game runs smoothly (except when you get the frame-rate issue - Had it just a couple of times on my PS4 "Slim"), the level design is there and unlike the previous Division, this one offers memorable places and memorable bosses and great encounters. Hunters are back and offers very nice rewards! (you will love this for sure!) Having the White House as the base of operations is a blast for me. I love it! You upgrade it as well as the settlements, you need to take care of the people and provide supplements, the world feel much more alive. You also have random missions across the map to keep you occupied and those are nice to play too.

The world is alive and it really feels like everything in the game has a purpose to be there. The design team at massive really did an amazing job! kudos to them!

The Dark Zone is unique and keeps be very entertaining! just run with friends or randoms and then turn back on them is great fun for me. The good days are back, trust no one! The NPCs and encounters there are nice to play too, you will find some great loot too. The only issue is that at times it feels kind of empty. I did not play Skirmish yet.

THE BUILDS ARE AMAZING! THERE'S LOT TO DO AND LOT TO TRY OUT! THE GUNPLAY IS GREAT AND THE LOOT IS THERE! Enjoy trying different builds! A lot to do in that department.

Finally, the endgame and the Black Tusk. Well, it was difficult for me at the start as I did not know their weak points well and how to approach them. They have all sort of equipment, gadgets and tech to kill you or take an enormous advantage over you. Once you figure out how to play and take them over, you will have a great fun and playing in group feels challenging too. In the end you are well rewarded and you feel like you just accomplished something, witch is a feeling not many games provides nowadays.

I will recommend this game to anybody, overall it is very well done and anything less than $60 is a bargain for this game. UBI and Massive just nailed it! Congrats!

Don’t give up folks. Next thing - there are load times, the first initial one to start the game, then to continue where you left off. Fast track load times yes but not long at all. Let me be clear as well, this game is tough, you will die, and the respawn option isn’t exactly generous particularly if you haven’t got a safe house near by. So let’s list the positives -

    - Washington DC is incredible, awful but incredible. Graphics are stupendous, gorgeous, rain, fog, sunshine, Ubisoft have really gone to town in recreating something of beauty in terms of this game graphically.
    - Gamplay is awesome. Using guns is a joy compared to the incredibly tough The Division. Enemies actually adjust when taking gunfire, one shot, you’ve disoriented them, then go to town and kill that b*****d, but as you imagine as you progress enemies get tougher and wiser.
Finally - I haven’t played enough to say anything of the fearsome Dark Zone or endgame. I’m only level 6, but from what I’ve played Ubisoft have made a game that is leaps and bounds better than the first. There are gonna be people who are negative, but this is in incredible game that is worth your money and time. I’ve had one shutdown of the game, but reported to Ubisoft thru my console, but then when I’d gone back to my save (you can’t save at all in this game, it’s automatic) point, the current mission I was on was completed. But hopefully it won’t happen again. I’d say first timers, don’t go multiplaying on all your missions just to start with. Give it a week. Obviously the game isn’t officially out to the whole world yet, so I’m sure Ubisoft will have an update ready for fridays full release. But definitely worth a look. You won’t be disappointed.

That's not strictly true. For the most part it is more solo player friendly and the enemies are less bullet spongey. However....there are big long drawn out missions in the game that are not solo player friendly and the enemies are the biggest bullet sponges you will ever witness. In fact its impossible to complete some of the missions alone. Quite early on in the game at level 15 you come across a mission that's set in a bank. You come up against a ton of enemies ranging from relatively weak, medium, hard then super dooper bloomin hard all the way to impossible! And the A.I (artifical intelligence) all of a sudden ramps up to what i've dubbed "Super Anoyying Mode." Enemies all of a sudden know when your crosshairs are pointed on them even if they are hidden in cover and can't see you. This means if you place your crosshairs on a window and sit and wait for a sniper to come out of cover, he won't come out of cover until you move your crosshairs away. But as soon as you move your crosshairs away the sniper will instantly come out of cover and shoot you. Same thing with all the other medium and hard enemies. When you get a whole bunch of them doing it it becomes ridiculous. The second you pop out of cover they will pop out of cover and rain tons of bullets on your from all directions. And while this is going down the weaker enemies will flank you from the sides. And if that was annoying enough enemies in cover will also send radio controlled cars with explosives on that sneak up and blow up from behind. They will also throw explosives and gas you out of cover. And the second you move from cover is pretty much game over as there are way too many of them thhey instanly gun you down before you can even react. The enemies keep respawning too to add insult to injury. Just contstant waves of the from all angles. The harder enemies are big bullet sponges and take a ton of bullets to kill them. And because they only break from cover when your aimed at someone else is makes it that much harder. And the hardest enemies take no damage at all. You can unload every single last bullet and explosive you have and they inficlt no damage at all. Then once you run out of ammo you obviously die. I then tried to complete this mission with 2 other people and we still couldn't complete it after 4 and half hours of trying! So this game isn't as strictly solo player friendly as the developers made it out to be. So that's a big shame. The game also has quite a few bugs. HD textures on trees, signs, pretty much anything fail to load in so items can look very messy and low resolution and often pop in right in front of your very eyes. That's pretty immersion breaking. That happens even on the PS4 PRO, Xbox One X and PC btw. Lots of floating obects, the odd floating person, people clipping into walls and doors etc. Invisible people. You can tell they are invisible as you will see floating water bottles and apples that look like ghosts are drinking water and eating apples. Animals also get stuck. The game world is lacking and feels off. For example when at an outdoor settlement people will be laying sunbathing and children out playing etc. That's ok when the suns out. But they also do it when theres a huge thunderstorm and its pouring with rain. Kids playing video games on a TV yet they are getting soaked in a storm and they continue playing regardless. It lacks those fine attention to details and feels a bit silly for it. The atmosphere of the game world isn't a patch on the first Division game. It feels pretty flat, less alive and looks quite boring. It has some nice touches here and there though, like in the undeground tunnels and such. Facial animations are really behind the times and look over a decade out of date. Some even talk yet the mouth doesn't even move. Gameplay is better than the first game but everything else is better in the first one. Expand

Same weapons, same skills, same UI, same environment minus snow, same enemies, same level design, after clearing the entire map, its gets captured again. So now you have to do everything again to get a gear with score on it but has lesser damage than the current one.

For the reviews, video game review sites, in general, only publish what gets clicks and you can't trust 90% of them as they will report what the players want to hear vs the reality.

    Pros:
Player characters look a little better and only hit with the edge of the Ugly Stick. More hair!
    It's not winter?
    More support/skill options available
The squads that roam the streets to help are...helpful.

    Cons:
Too dang difficult to play solo. Seriously, things coming at you from all side, no method to hide or be covert, they all have grenades and bombs. They one **** or two **** while you are trying to take down 4 at a time, one of then can kill you quickly.

I like difficult, but then there is this level of difficulty where people who play on super hardcore mode in games are comfortable. I don't have time for this stupidity.

Unclear story. Why exactly am I here? were they planning on explaining these camps better?

Nobody helps. Their matchmaking system is not working very well. While in Div 1, i could queue up for the Main Mission (low levels) and find a group within a minute. This game took over 7 minutes.

First main mission bored me. The combat was lame. Didnt feel that same "holy sh*t, this is intense" that I got from the 1st Main mission in Div 1. When I first played Div 1, i ran that first mission about 5x before moved on. I typically did this with all the under max lvl main story events. I have absolutely no desire to rerun that first event.

I'm hoping there will be balance adjustments in the near future that will make this more accessible to the average gamer. For now, I wasted my money.

This game is easily an +85 in regards to games in general, especially with the string of recent releases the industry has be plagued with *cough* Anthem *cough*. In regards to other looter shooters this game is without a doubt top tier. It's up there with Diablo (post patch updates) and Borderlands 1 and 2.

The amount of content provided is astounding! If this game were a sandwich, it's a loaded footlong sub that you're saving the other half to for tomorrow's lunch. And it's quality meat too, not some processed ****

The level designs for the main missions are really special, especially how the museum levels really do have their own separate feel depending on the museum you're in. And the side missions feel like main missions! Who would of thought of making side missions on par with their main mission counter parts.... insane right?

The amount of content to be squeezed out of this is similar to Witcher 3, and that's absolutely refreshing to see.

This style of game isnt for most people as there is grinding involved to get the gear you want, it is a looter shooter after all. But, Massive has done an amazing job to make the grind feel fresh and rewarding. Also, i want to mention how challenging the AI is. This is like dark souls for looter shooters and there is no hand holding either which is refreshing.

TLDR; Damn good job, Massive. You all have outdone yourselves with this one!

What Division 2 gets right is everything that made Division 1 good after their much-praised 1.8 update. But then you add in a more streamlined experience in the stat building and skill system and you can easily adjust to a big game and its nuances in ways that the previous Division game simply failed at. But the game's biggest asset is one that the press has completely left untouched: endgame. There is a SIGNIFICANT endgame experience here that really opens up the game in a similar way Destiny 2's Dreaming City did for the Forsaken expansion. You have this base game that you play through to get adjusted to the game and its system and its story but it becomes something more shortly after finishing the core game. I think The Division overall has a very good thing going for it BUT I think the game is also very limited in its vision and direction. There are no vehicles to play with, there is no open world aspect (just shared world), and the crafting system isn't all that deep which makes it hard to create an "agent" that's truly unique. Sure, the skill system attempts to address that but it really doesn't do a great job at solving that desire that I'd wager most gamers have when playing these kinds of games. I wish there was a skill tree that people could go down that made them better at certain things and less better at others so that a more varied and situational experience would unfold. Expand

While I miss the setting of the previous game, DC feels like it's full of people trying to get by that just makes it feel more alive when compared to the lifeless city of New York.

I do miss handing Civilians medical equipment and food, it was a small touch that I liked + the fact they gave you clothes was cool

speaking of which, I dislike how every customization is now linked to Micro-transactions, you can unlock clothes, but at a much slower rate. This leaves your character looking overall the same alot of the time

If you liked the first game then this is a safe buy

    if not...

give it a few months for Ubisoft to air out the bugs and to add free content + it'll be cheaper

Big, big, big improvement from the first Division game. Everything that was bad in the first game has been improved or over haul for the 2nd outing.

Lots more to do, more enemies to defeat and more loot to find including special loot.

I wanted to love this game. Actually, I do a bit. The gameplay is so fun and I dig the loot but its way to flawed to be enjoyed. I only play PVE. Firstly this is not division 2 its an expansion of sorts. The GPS map sucks - wait til you get to bounties. It will take you 20 minutes to find them and 45 seconds to kill em. Did 5 and I had enough. Not one of my friends plays this game still so I am stuck solo which is fine but to have enemies spawn literally on top of you is not ideal. Think Ghost Recon was bad where they spawned out of thin air? This game tops that easily. You will have 10 guys come out and there will be no cover? The hell? This biggest pet peeve is the enemies will run 9 times faster than you. How is this part of the game play? You have to run all over this map at the slowest run I have seen since Uncharted but they run like an olympian. Its crashed 19 times in 120 hours. Its a bit repetitive as well. You really have nothing to do unless you like to spend hundreds of hours with terrible RNG for those few pieces of loot that will really do nothing in terms of killing enemies. 7-8 mags of level 499 AR to kill a boss should not be a thing. Still spongy like the first game. Its a buy only in the bargain bin. I wish it was not true but out of my entire clan and 17 personal friends they have all ditched the game and they were huge D1 fans - they got me into it but this installment just stinks. Expand

I am an original day one Division 1 player who has logged over 1000 hours. That game had issues at launch and this does too, much of which I was willing to overlook. Now, there is the frame rate issue which makes the game unplayable when in high octane moments. My character takes forever to reload a weapon whilst the enemies seem to be operating at 100%. Now, there is the frame rate issue which makes the game unplayable when in high octane moments. My character takes forever to reload a weapon whilst the enemies seem to be operating at 100%. This is especially upsetting when doing a daily on challenging which is difficult enough without giving the NPC's an advantage. This frame rate issue is apparently due to UBI's servers being poop.

Also, there is the issue of the game glitching when getting shocked. To the point of me being shocked (for close to a minute) and the next second, I get the "Mission Completed" screen when I basically just started the mission. Then we have the load screen which seems to log you into the game, just to tell you a second later that you were disconnected and to check your internet connection (which I know is fine)

The other big one IMO, is the game feels like Division 1 to me; in the sense of I'm already bored. In D1, it was due the incursions being impossible so there was nothing to do after beating the game. A few updates later and the game was playable again. After doing the Incursions, all that was left was the DZ until it became the whole server standing in circles flagging rogue repeatedly without going rogue or the whole server just waiting for someone else to go rogue and chase them for 15 min (guilty) but it was out of pure boredom. Division 2 feels that way now. I've done all the strongholds and rid the map of Black Tusk. It seems all there is to do now is PVP which was inevitable, but it came too soon. I'm sure it will get better once the raids are here, along with other content. It would've just been nice to have more to do for now. Will update my review down the road.

The Division again, just better dressed and more more polished.. but the essence still the same. Money and time down the drain. (Unless you're smart!)

Few months after release when the reviews are in they break the community with non-matchmaking content. So, now the casual player, non-hardcore players cant enter the raid and finish it because "they made it too hard for non organised players"..

The Division was a very lackluster game to say the least and still is, but honestly I'd rather play that than this. I've never played the first Division. After hearing some of my favorite reviewers say they're having fun, I decided to give it a go. It's the first game in a long time that I keep thinking about when I am not playing. The Grind is Great and so is the game!

I have to admit i was skeptical about The Division 2 after the problems The Division had and the crowded space of looter shooters, i was worried that this game would not be enough to get my attention.

The Graphics are good, not the best when it comes to hair clipping through objects. Dynamic weathers play a massive part, ive started the game twice once it was sunny, next in a fog and rain.

My one and only negative about the game is Microtransactions in the game, if you can get every item by grinding then great but if you have to pay for it, not such a big fan. Especially if you bought the base game and a year one pass, it gets expensive if you want additional items.

Overall, it’s not hard to see how much potential The Division 2 has. Sure, it’s a good game, but with the proper care, it could be the best game of the year… should the developers decide to fix the easily avoidable bugs that cause major inconveniences. With a fitting plot, marvelous war mechanics, and tons of lore, The Division 2 is about as good as an RPG-Shooter can get. But please Ubisoft, for the love of god, fix the little things. It’s early, you still got some time to redeem yourself!

The Division 2 is another copy&paste game after Division 1 without something special. All the new basic mechanics they made in Division 2, Ubisoft could make it in Division 1.
It is not worth to buying it until the price is about 20 - 25$ to justified from the content.

Story mode needed to be rushed through to get to ranking system that matters. DLC took so long to come out the repetition of missions made game stagnant. Glad i didn't buy the season pass.

Ubisoft attempts to destroy their legacy once more with a subpar release. The Division was a let-down enough already, I refused to buy this game on release. Specializations at level 30? How many hours into the game do you need to have for this integral mechanic? Also, basic stuff like the map not loading so you run into invisible walls while walking down the middle of an open road. Seriously? Enemies randomly spawning on top of you and instantly downing you? C'mon. I wanted to just beat the game, but the scars of the past and this new spit in the face make it impossible to want to spend another minute on it. Expand

Tom Clancy's The Division 2 has thrown its hat into the ring for being a possible 'Game of the Year' contender for 2019. The post-apocalyptic Washington D.C. is such an eerie site to see, and Agents can roam around solo or in groups to complete missions and earn better loot to upgrade their characters. With more content well on the way, the base game is still packed with heaps of stuff to do - and the huge variety in gear types and stat boosts, modifications, and skills means that 1000+ hours can easily be put into this title over the course of the year. The only bane to these sorts of titles is the 'always-online' internet connection that is required, which does remove some parts of the gaming population from being able to play it, unfortunately.

The Division 2 is easily the best of its type; it has the right balance of fun, challenge, dopamine loot drops, and sweet graphics that all but guarantee I’ll be playing this one for a long, long time to come. If you haven’t jumped in yet and think this might be for you, hesitate no longer - Ubisoft has absolutely nailed it the second time around.

It all adds up to one of the finest games multiplayer role-player shooters out there. This is how gaming with friends is meant to be.
