I understand and somewhat sympathize with the grievances made by other players here, particularly with the poor execution of the RPG/looter shooter mechanics. I understand and somewhat sympathize with the grievances made by other players here, particularly with the poor execution of the RPG/looter shooter mechanics. They don't really seem to fit the bill here, and it's painfully obvious they're only there to allow for the microtransactions (which I, and hope everyone else, will completely ignore).

However, if you do ignore them, and try to play this game as a sort of poor man's Splinter Cell, I actually think there's a lot of fun to be had. Taking down an entire base without alerting anyone is still a good challenge (I recommend bumping up the difficulty a bit though) and the feeling of prowling through the very good looking scenery is pretty immersive.

A lot of the map feels like wasted space though, with random two-man patrols just littered around to keep you entertained I suppose. It's not a great execution of an open world really, and so instead just simply playing through the story and going from waypoint to waypoint is probably how I recommend doing it, because actually trying to soak up what the world has to offer will leave you pretty empty-handed.

Overall though, if you try to force yourself to play stealthily, ignore the botched levelling system, and try to follow along with the story a bit, I think there's a lot of hours of enjoyment to be had here.

It's a shame though, because if the developers had just tightened this game up a bit, and actually tried to make it a more focused experience, rather than a hodge-podge of every type of game imaginable, I think it could have been a truly great game. Instead, it's fairly mediocre.

SJW RAGE!!!! Now that I've explained away most of the unbelievably unprofessional hate from other reviewers [yes, it has a lot of micro-transactions, no they haven't prevented me from enjoying the game because I don't foam at the mouth like I have rabies when something upsets me]; this is probably the best TPS I've played in my 43yrs and is a viable alternative if hungry for an open world FPS.

Firstly, a note on how I play-to get the most out of the experience; I remove any HUD elements that might indicate enemy presence or direction, use no silencers, refuse to go for headshots-which are cheap, forbid myself from spam reloading [as IF you'd do that IRL]-if I need to reload during a firefight I force myself to switch to another weapon and I only use ironsights. I also mostly refuse to use the most powerful weapons, instead restricting myself to SMGs and the like. Think Rambo in the jungle, combining LOUD weapons with stealth and always seeking close quarters combat. Played this way; and the game's a.m.a.z.i.n.g, replete with the best AI I've seen in an open world game, a huge step up from Wildlands and Far Cry. Speaking of which, people like to **** on Far Cry's AI, but let me tell you; on the hardest settings-it can make mincemeat of anyone in CQC. The people who rubbish the AI in Breakpoint are universally, predictably playing the following way [yawn]; a team of four humans all with scoped weapons, silencers, spam reloading and picking people off bravely behind a rock a km away using only the most OP weapons. These are the same folk who ruined Battlefield 1, remember how there was a sniper behind every rock? In short; the fault is with THEM. This game is best-in-class, hence is a 9/10.

Division?

There are a few bugs ( writing this 3 days or so after it's release ), but after playing for 20+hrs in coop I have had a great time with my friends. If you enjoyed Wildlands in coop mode, then you will very likely enjoy this as well.

There are definitely issues, and some strange bugs, but the herd mentality that kicks in for some users also needing to leave a negative review, because of a single issue is just ridiculous. As far as I know all items that you get with the micro transactions are available in the game itself, and after playing 20+hrs or so, I got all the gear I basically want. Never felt to need to buy anything.

The story line and the missions I have done so far are interesting to follow, and the world you walk around looks absolutely amazing. The AI can be improved in some situations, even when you play in hard it's relatively easy to always win fights. But these are things that are hopefully improved with a patch at some point.

I loved Advanced Warfighter, adored Future Soldier and went crazy for Wildlands, despite all the hate that game received when it came out.
Now with Breakpoint it's almost the same.
Iìm about 30 hours into the game and I'm having great time playing it.
Of course there are several glitches and bugs that could make the experience a little bit frustrating, but with my experience with the game I didn't found any of these major bugs that are blocking my path in order to advance with the game. And at the worst case, I just needed to fast travel to the nearest point. So no big deal for me.
The looter-shooter/RPG mechanic could have been better implemented, but it's not that horrible when you get used to it.
Technically the game goes "up and down". Sometimes it's beautiful to watch, sometimes no. But with a game with this size, some minor graphics glitches could happen.

I don't understand why people keep yelling at Ubisoft for the microtransactions.
I'm about 30 hours into the game and I never felt to be stuck or unable to advance because I was too low with the equipment or the level.
I think that by now is a normal thing yelling against the software houses for any kind of thing that someone does not like, and maybe that could obfuscate the final judgement of the title in charge.

We all know that Ubisoft is the living example of the "He could do great things, but he didn't apply very well", so the game should be treated accordingly.

So far for my experience, it's not that bad.
The game is worthing the actual cost? Of course not. Not at this state. But we all know that this kind of games gets better with time, with patches, extra content and so on.
So i would recommend to give it a try maybe late next year.

By my opinion a game should be mainly entertaining and as an adult who works , that little time that I have it must not be wasted on crappy games that I could find frustrating or simply, not entertaining.
Ghost Recon Breakpoint luckily for me it's not one of these.

The introduction of the leveled-gear system makes you constantly change inventory and gives a reason to try out new weapons. It also offers a bit of realism to the situation, since you are kind of playing guerilla warfare it would be logical to loot your enemies for their weapons. The environment feels alive and continuously changing, with snowstorms, rain, fog, etc. The AI is more natural (for the most part), meaning that if someone spots you, that one guy 20 miles from you will not sprint towards you with a sign saying "shoot me" just yet. Enemies learn, sometimes they will hide inside houses if they know you are sniping, or stay behind cover and force you to go down and take them out one by one. These small details make for an excellent experience. Is it perfect? No, it is not, but if you give it a try and don't play it with the mindset "it is going to suck," you might notice the important things that make it a great game. Expand

Very few bugs I've run into, the grind is actually kind of a great progression that keeps you motivated rather than a chore. Microtransactions have not been an issue, I have bought none and having a great time.
I'm actually liking not having ai team mates because it got a bit easy to use sync shot all the time and just cheese your way though hard bases etc. Here you actually have to do a bit more work and I'm liking it.
Maybe they've changed the game a bit but I doubt much since it's still pretty new but I'd suggest ignoring the 0 reviews especially if you liked Wildlands. To me this is quite a big step up and I'd recommend it.
I'm even thinking about buying it for PC as well since it will probably run even better on my 1080 Ti but annoyed it isn't on steam.

What I personally don't like is the story. I would have preferred something real like in Wildlands - Mexican drug war, or Syrian conflict. Instead we're fighting high tech drones on some fictional island, well...
The PVP mode is great though, bigger maps and you can play the same character with the same upgrades as in campaign. Alone for the PVP it's worth it. Just make sure all your weapons are Mk3 before you start playing online, or you'll mess up your K/D like me.

Stop shedding tears over Wildlands, the game is from 2016 and the graphics are just not up to date anymore. Breakpoint is a good sequel, with some flaws. If you like playing co-op with a friend or tactical PVP then you'll have fun with this game.

Now on to Breakpoint... So they cast the Punisher actor as the main villain. He does a great but limited job. The story is a bit wonky compared to Wildlands but honestly if you are playing this for an in depth story... this is the wrong game for you.

The controls are clunky, no smooth transitions over obstacles, hiccups in controller actions, and delays/lag constantly when transitioning which cause disadvantages in game play. Wildlands did not have this issue.

Micro-transactions you say? Heck yes this game has it. Every aspect from upgrading weapons, blueprints, cammo patterns, face-paint, tattoos, skins, etc... every single aspect of this game is micro-transactioned like crazy. Did you like the sync shot mechanic from Wildlands? Well guess what, now you have drones that will do that for you, but guess what!?! You've got to buy them. Like playing expansion content? Want to be able to kill the terminators in the expansion mission? Well you have to buy it, then you have to pay for a weapon that is the ONLY weapon that can kill a terminator.

No team members, no team member customization like in Wildlands. It's like they took all the concepts that were applauded in Wildlands and decided they wanted to monetize them.

Ubisoft is going a pay to play, pay to win dynamic and it sucks because this franchise was getting good. Fix it.

An average game. At launch, this game was a piece of garbage, but know they fixed it, mechanics are preety much the same as it's predecessor, Ghost Recon: Wildlands. With a new decent-good story, this game is only worth buying if you either have friends or if it's in sale

I really wanted to love this game but after 370 hours after the updates and with AI team mates. It's lost me. So clunky in corners and in buildings. Don't get me started on climbing or sliding down a cliff in the middle of a gunfight. You can't even go in and pick saves you want to load. I won't be back.

This games hub where you can see other players is also confusing, half the time idk where the exit is or where I go to talk to someone to start or complete a mission, even the objective notification is outright not user friendly when i want to complete mission 1/ep1 I shouldn't see 3rd mission if i haven't even competed the 1st one yet. this game i was hoping to get better but got worse in a lot of ways!!!!!

I bought the game in December 2020 on PS4 and honestly I rarely had so much fun in collaborative multiplayer mode to do the campaign!
The game is now very good since 18 months and it offers an open world, beautiful, with a multitude of approaches (infiltration? Parachute jump from helicopter? approach by boat? Capture an armored jeep with a Gatling gun for a frontal assault?), the possibility to customize your equipment, your outfit. The scenario is quite good and above all there are many missions that leave a lasting memory (ah! the infiltration of the fortress of Flycatcher!)

I can only recommend this game to a group of 4 friends who want a game with $15, full of possibilities, missions, and with such a choice of weapons/holdings/equipment that there is no need for micro-transactions (those are much less present than many games: Fifa & co). A big yes for this great game that deserves much better than 56 !

Up to try any genre of games and sometimes I find something new that I didn't think I'd like. I own a little bit of everything; PC (built by me), Xbox, Playstation, and a Switch. I prefer Playstation due to their focus on narrative games. For scoring, I’ll be using the Gameinformer review scale and of course influenced by my personal opinions.

    (8) Very Good.
Innovative, but perhaps not the right choice for everyone. This score indicates that there are many good things to be had, but arguably so.

    (-1) Microtransactions
There are microtransactions in the game. It's not as invasive as other games but any microtransactions in a game is a bad thing. This game does feel grindy which is probably on purpose to get someone to use microtransactions. They are avoidable though.

    (-1) Always Online
Not everyone in the world has internet and forces some people to miss out on a game that they would otherwise play. Not really a reason for it since it's not known to be a competitive multiplayer game.

I enjoyed my time with the game especially after a year passed by and they added more options to the game like AI teammates, option to turn off drones, and hardcore mode which made it more appealing to me. Has an average story but good enough to keep you interested. The best part of the game is just observing outposts and trying to figure out what is the best way to get through it stealthy.

The enemies are beyond ridiculous. One of them get alerted, they all get alerted and (although they don't know your exact location) a group will go to your general location. One of them detects you then the ENTIRE base knows your exact location and will come after you, no matter where you run unless you run far from the base.

Edit: The game has been updated today that let’s the player customise aspects of the gameplay for example the Immersive Mode and an option to completely customise gameplay and HUD features. I have added +1 score point to take my rating up to a 4/10.

Breakpoint is a fun game if you enjoy collecting the weapons (real world weapons with authentic sounds) and customising the weapons with attachments. I am currently playing the game solo on the easiest difficulty because the missions are designed to be completed with a co-op squad of four. I plan on joining other players games and playing on the higher difficulty once I have completed the story missions alone.

I am one of those gamers who enjoyed Wildlands and got the Platinum trophy while still having a good time. If you liked Wildlands and want more of the same than you should like this.

Edit: After finishing all of the Main Story Missions that are available I have noticed that 50% of the story missions are Locked Out as Paid DLC. Bulls***. And those story missions I played were very boring compared to Wildlands.

I have changed my score from 6 to 4.

My personal tastes won't allow me to go any higher than a 5 for this game, I'm not a fan of looter shooter's, I think too much time is spent playing barbie and going through pages upon pages of loot, I'd rather just pick the equipment I want, and play the game, especially in the case of Ghost Recon, which should be a semi-realistic tactical shooter.

If you like looter shooter's I'd say it's a 6. It's a 6 because there are a ton of bugs and the game is trying to appease too many different types of player's, and does nothing it tries very well. It's just a case of Ubisoft trying to toss out the biggest net possible in order to catch the most fish.

The microtransactions were kind of pay to win before Ubisoft back tracked and removed them when the internet got ahold of it and tore them apart. The microtransactions are optional now, you don't need them, but you also can't get the most popular cosmetics available without buying them with real money. These types of microtransactions that paywall the best looking, most sought after items are a free-to-play game business model, and should not be in a full priced game. You absolutely should be able to unlock everything by playing the game, with Breakpoint, this is not the case. For example, you can get ghillie suit pants for free by looting, but have to buy the guillie suit top.

They designed and implemented the social hub to stick high level player's into your hub to encourage you buy things in the store, it's the only reason they forced it into the game, as it adds nothing else besides a tedious walk into this massive, spread out social hub. If you have a squad of 4, it's going to take at least 30 mins to get in and out by the time everyone is done returning missions, getting new ones, selling, buying, crafting, breaking down gear. It's just like Division in this aspect, it gets tedious and is annoying.

The shooting feels more or less the same as Wildlands, a little more unrealistic and arcadey due to the looter shooter element, you can't shoot through cover the same as you could in Wildlands, with my .50 caliber sniper I couldn't shoot through a metal plate attached to a railing on a walkway to get the guy behind it, which is a perfect scenario to use that weapon in. Also, enemies don't react to getting shot.

A headshot is a one hit kill, but body shots are weaker than in Wildlands, instead of 2-3 body shots it's more like 5-6 shots for a kill. This makes the game feel arcadey, instead of headshots being a riskier finesse move that's mostly unnecessary, it makes them absolutely necessary when trying to take down multiple enemies quickly and quietly. This makes weapons feel weaker than they should, especially with bigger caliber weapons.

I haven't played PvP in Breakpoint, but if it's anything like Wildlands, which from what I've read, it is, it's hide and seek with guns, not for me.

Vehicle's have gotten worse overall, a couple of the 4x4's feel better, but the bike's handle worse than in Wildlands, helicopters too.

Last but not least, robots/drones. These are the purple and yellow health bar enemy equivalent from Division, they are bullet sponges, even the tiny drones that shoot at you alongside the human AI take far too many shots to take down. If you choose to ignore your GS like a lot of the positive reviews say you can, these drones become even more spongey, the same goes for body shots on human AI that are far above your Gear Score level.

The game can be fun, and the bones for a really good Ghost Recon game are there, but it's buried under The Division gameplay, crafting, looting, social hubs, all these things take away from the game.

Me and 3 friends who played Wildlands together for literally years, played an hour and noticed we were only doing mission's and in combat for about 10 mins out of every hour, too much time is spent with all the extras in this game, one of my friends put it this way, "It feels like doing a mission is a reward for all the running around you need to constantly be doing."

That's my honest take for the game.

There are a lot of mtx, don't get me wrong, but it is all ALL optional and does not give you any sort of real PvP advantage.
You can only buy the blueprints either way.
Also can NOT (currently) buy skill points (you get them insanely easy and all the time, I have the entire current skill tree unlocked, 55 more skill points with nothing (currently) to spend them on, and still getting more from the many activities that give them.
You earn MANY (most even) skins and blueprints by playing, not paying.
No current xp boosts, though you CAN buy ingame credits, it is not worth it since they are easy to come by via main missions (and pvp also if into it)

That all aside, the game is not without glitches but more are minor annoyance than anything, I have yet to see game breaking issues. The game really shines in Coop, along with PvP.
The PvE story is actually interesting, and I normally skip story **** on all games, even RPGs, but I am enjoying the story in this one, much to my own surprise.

The PvP has been really addictive and a lot of fun, I can't wait to see more modes and maps released.

Graphically the game is gorgeous, but can have some odd texture issues even on all ultra settings, things occasionally look a tad grainy where they should not at a distance that should be properly rendered but it generally does not stay that way and I expect will be addressed.

Overall, myself and my friends that picked it up have really loved it, the RPG aspect is not overly complicated but gives you a greater sense of growth, in our opinions. You upgrade guns as in if i upgrade this G28 DMR, ALL G28 DMRs i pick up in future are upgraded, so it's not a big deal, can play around with guns freely, and gun lvl itself does not matter in PvP, a lvl 2 or a lvl 150 are the same, just the 150 will work better vs higher enemies in PvE (mostly drone/body shots)

The system is a solid upgrade from wildlands, with still more room to improve

The AI is a tun of fun, huge improvements over the trash in Wildlands.

Would recommend the game to anyone even mildly a fan of the series

I write this review as a max lvl, 160 gear score player (not max gs btw) who plays on at least advanced difficulty, and has just had a ton of fun thus far.

9 review simply because there are quite a few bugs, even if they are mostly graphical and not a big hindrance,it needs some cleaning up.

Rating a game zero or because it has microtransactions or without even playing it needs to stop. I really enjoyed the opening to this game, felt more close and personal, survival felt like it meant something.. then you get to waterfall base and it kind of falls down from there. The A to B travelling is boring, tedious drive across the map to get to the next location. Just nope.... I hoped for a better than what I got. I was looking for more of what wild lands had, but instead I was met with division 2 mechanics.

If you like the franchise and Wildland you could enjoy playing a little. However, it seems that this game it not finished yet, the history its so poor. Jon Bernthal is low and doesnt have sense sometimes. I think that its a game to buy in two months and enjoy playing when bugs are fixed and launch the post game content.

The only redeeming quality in this game is Jon bernthal, there is literally no there reason to play this game, it's like a terrible division mod without all the other players in the game.

Nice game and really not sure about the bad reviews as you don’t need to pay to win and you can get everything free buy playing the game. It’s a good sneak and shoot game.

This is an indisputable fact. He talks about "gaming as a product". Retard, if we are speaking that broadly then everything is a product. Don't be an idiot and incorrect. Games are an art form. This is indisputable fact.
Lastly he talks about "In the last 10 or so years the quality of titles, especially triple A has declined." Again, retard you are trying to say "The quality of titles in general" but are communicated that terribly. This is indisputable fact. Also no, it's an indisputable fact that in the last 10 or so years only the quality of Western triple A titles in general have declined. You yourself have acknowledged and continue to acknowledge that there are still genuinely awesome Western triple A games in recent years, you communicated it terribly however. Also indisputable fact. Lastly no, it's an indisputable fact that in the last 10 years or so the general quality of AA and Indie games has increased, this is an indisputable fact. Whoever fails to understand that is indisputably and irrefutably a complete retard who understands nothing. Also the idiot says "With higher budgets, more advanced technology, and larger teams, how it gaming getting WORSE? We'll i'm here to explain it to you." First retard technology, teams, budgets, that isn't involved, secondly gaming isn't getting WORSE. This is an indisputable fact that other than for some AAA games "gaming" isn't getting worse. Yes, HOW is it getting worse? Again, you are trying to say "AAA gaming in general" but are incompetent at it. Regardless you are wrong. Another thing, The Act Man's Youtube channel is probably run by a bot nowadays and it will indisputably be shut down in the near future considering Youtube's ineptitude. Probably by next year even. Everything I have said in response to this retard is indisputable fact.

the long range shooting is still a problem where after 230m mark the bullets drop is very high. you have to equip a perk to overcome that.
the level design is very redundant.
weapon upgrade is very bad. you have to loot the same gun over and over to level up or craft it via blueprints after every mission.
i would have loved the game more if it was a copy of wildlands with different story.
my biggest issue is the looting system and enemy levels.
the final boss fight was very unsatisfying.
in conclusion, this game to me was nothing but a waste of time

After 102 Hours played after they finally reintroduced the AI Teammates and gave as way to turn off Gear Score, I'm done with the game (in a bad way). Breakpoint is Wildlands (better game) with 1/4 the effort and a half-baked Division 2 loot system (play that for a loot game like this), with a half finished story. I had 4 paragraphs typed out before I realized that was too much. I had 4 paragraphs typed out before I realized that was too much. Simply put, several interesting mechanics were added to Wildlands with very little effort to story and stripping down of gunsmith customization. Oh, and yes, they did add a TON of micro-transactions for pay-to-win. This game may very well kill Ghost Recon, due to lack of effort and a desire for increased monetization by Ubisoft. Expand

Ghost Recon Breakpoint offers a vast universe, where the survival aspects have been strengthened from GR Widlands. If the game suffers from a perfectible AI and a clear feeling of "déjà-vu", it doesn’t take anything away from its effectiveness. It works well, especially in coop, while the PVP is viciously nervous. An imperfect title, but with great moments, and a huge potential if handled with care by Ubisoft in the coming months.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint is coincidentally living up to its name, being a failure and potential gravedigger for the famous franchise. Riddled with Pay-to-Win microtransactions tacked on looter shooter gameplay and pretty under average storytelling, even Jon Berenthal wasn’t enough to arise this gameplay up to some decent playable heights.

At its best, Ghost Recon Breakpoint is a taut and tactical shooter that works brilliantly in co-op and is genuinely enjoyable to play but at its heart this is just another sandbox shooter and one that doesn't meet the technical standards we're used to from Ubisoft.
