I've been a Ghost Recon fan since the beginning... Same with Rainbow 6 and Splinter Cell... For a time these "Tom Clancy" games used to be the best of the best as far as hardcore modern military action. But UbiSoft has, seemingly deliberately, destroyed these once great franchises. They have done it methodically, intentionally, and with malice. First they started farming out their development and storylines to foreign studios. Then they allowed those foreign developers to destroy their brands and IPs, such as Sam Fisher, and then making story lines that are actually insulting to their core target audience. All the sudden it was the old white American men that became the terrorists and the heroes became laughable failures. Now in GR BreakPoint they've come full circle and the bad guys are, get this, prior Ghost Recon soldiers. That's insulting to the consumer and the fan base. And this was revealed in the first 3 minutes of terrible gameplay. But this is what UbiSoft does. They insult us and laugh in our face. They are a terrible European company and their culture is represented in the terrible basic gameplay of the game. Within 10 mins I was literally looking for a way to get a refund on the play station store but of course there isn't one. It feels like a PS2 game. Controls are clunky, camera is terrible, AI is horrible, of course the graphics are sub par. Cut scenes are terrible. I should have came to Metacritic first and saved myself the money. I want to make something clear. It's not just the SJW progressive politics that ruin this game. It's the the basic fundamentals of gameplay in which it fails. In all categories it fails. Then I got to the second cut scene where it's revealed that a Ghost Recon soldier is one of the main bad guys.... Terrible. That's when I put the controller down and decided to take a breath and consider that yes, this is actually a **** game. Sometimes we want games to be good so we lie to ourselves until something just slaps us in the face. Even the little things are wrong and messed up. For instance in the first minute of gameplay you pick up a "416" rifle that takes 5.56 rounds LOL. For those of you that don't know, a 416 takes .416 caliber rounds LOL. Its like no one even QC'd this game or they just didn't care. And this is supposed to be mil sim Tom Clancy **** LOL. Tom Clancy would never approve of this horse ****.

I've never rated a game on Metacritic but this experience has been so terrible that I signed up and rated this game a zero and wrote this long ass review because that's how bad this game made me feel. I quit after 10 minutes... My review doesn't even reflect the points of other reviewers such as always online and the microtransactions. I'm sure there are many other flaws that I spared myself from by quitting after 10 minutes of gameplay.

    Do not buy this game.

Now with Breakpoint it's almost the same.
Iìm about 30 hours into the game and I'm having great time playing it.
Of course there are several glitches and bugs that could make the experience a little bit frustrating, but with my experience with the game I didn't found any of these major bugs that are blocking my path in order to advance with the game. And at the worst case, I just needed to fast travel to the nearest point. So no big deal for me.
The looter-shooter/RPG mechanic could have been better implemented, but it's not that horrible when you get used to it.
Technically the game goes "up and down". Sometimes it's beautiful to watch, sometimes no. But with a game with this size, some minor graphics glitches could happen.

I don't understand why people keep yelling at Ubisoft for the microtransactions.
I'm about 30 hours into the game and I never felt to be stuck or unable to advance because I was too low with the equipment or the level.
I think that by now is a normal thing yelling against the software houses for any kind of thing that someone does not like, and maybe that could obfuscate the final judgement of the title in charge.

We all know that Ubisoft is the living example of the "He could do great things, but he didn't apply very well", so the game should be treated accordingly.

So far for my experience, it's not that bad.
The game is worthing the actual cost? Of course not. Not at this state. But we all know that this kind of games gets better with time, with patches, extra content and so on.
So i would recommend to give it a try maybe late next year.

By my opinion a game should be mainly entertaining and as an adult who works , that little time that I have it must not be wasted on crappy games that I could find frustrating or simply, not entertaining.
Ghost Recon Breakpoint luckily for me it's not one of these.

Ubisoft has really declined in the quality department as of late. Especially in Ghost Recon Breakpoint with their lackluster story, terrible AI, glitches, extremely repetitive gameplay, and it's OUTRAGEOUS monitization! This game was just made to get into your wallet!

This is wholly unacceptable. It's high time we rise up against the likes of Ubisoft and Activision and EA and any other company that would think that this is okay to included in a full price video game.

They allow you to skip hunting them on the map with $$,that is not pay to win, also no guns are blatantly better and OP compared to others, your ability to aim matters most. There are a lot of mtx, don't get me wrong, but it is all ALL optional and does not give you any sort of real PvP advantage.
You can only buy the blueprints either way.
Also can NOT (currently) buy skill points (you get them insanely easy and all the time, I have the entire current skill tree unlocked, 55 more skill points with nothing (currently) to spend them on, and still getting more from the many activities that give them.
You earn MANY (most even) skins and blueprints by playing, not paying.
No current xp boosts, though you CAN buy ingame credits, it is not worth it since they are easy to come by via main missions (and pvp also if into it)

That all aside, the game is not without glitches but more are minor annoyance than anything, I have yet to see game breaking issues. The game really shines in Coop, along with PvP.
The PvE story is actually interesting, and I normally skip story **** on all games, even RPGs, but I am enjoying the story in this one, much to my own surprise.

The PvP has been really addictive and a lot of fun, I can't wait to see more modes and maps released.

Graphically the game is gorgeous, but can have some odd texture issues even on all ultra settings, things occasionally look a tad grainy where they should not at a distance that should be properly rendered but it generally does not stay that way and I expect will be addressed.

Overall, myself and my friends that picked it up have really loved it, the RPG aspect is not overly complicated but gives you a greater sense of growth, in our opinions. You upgrade guns as in if i upgrade this G28 DMR, ALL G28 DMRs i pick up in future are upgraded, so it's not a big deal, can play around with guns freely, and gun lvl itself does not matter in PvP, a lvl 2 or a lvl 150 are the same, just the 150 will work better vs higher enemies in PvE (mostly drone/body shots)

The system is a solid upgrade from wildlands, with still more room to improve

The AI is a tun of fun, huge improvements over the trash in Wildlands.

Would recommend the game to anyone even mildly a fan of the series

I write this review as a max lvl, 160 gear score player (not max gs btw) who plays on at least advanced difficulty, and has just had a ton of fun thus far.

9 review simply because there are quite a few bugs, even if they are mostly graphical and not a big hindrance,it needs some cleaning up.

There are a few bugs ( writing this 3 days or so after it's release ), but after playing for 20+hrs in coop I have had a great time with my friends. There are definitely issues, and some strange bugs, but the herd mentality that kicks in for some users also needing to leave a negative review, because of a single issue is just ridiculous. As far as I know all items that you get with the micro transactions are available in the game itself, and after playing 20+hrs or so, I got all the gear I basically want. Never felt to need to buy anything.

The story line and the missions I have done so far are interesting to follow, and the world you walk around looks absolutely amazing. The AI can be improved in some situations, even when you play in hard it's relatively easy to always win fights. But these are things that are hopefully improved with a patch at some point.

I have not encountered any glitches at this time and I don't also feel the need to buy any micro transactions. I thought the gunplay and vast world was interesting and diverse. The graphics were also very pleasing on the eye. My only complaint would be the cover system and the loading times.

But here I wanted to give Ubisoft 1 more chance, especially since Ghost Recon is one of my favourite titles. Contrary to all reviews I ordered it in advance (yes I know...). After 3 days playing time I had to stop. Too many bugs, too boring and this unbelievable impudence to exploit the community, because of which one exists at all so disgusts me. How can a game be released in such a state? Fortunately, there are enough other titles and developers that deserve my attention and most of all my money more. Bye Ubisoft Expand

Now, just to be clear I am NOT in favour of the existence of these egregious microtransactions, and I'm not in favour of how they have forced it into the game by introducing bullet-sponge drones to make levelling gear important.

But there's lots to like here if you can look past the sucky business practices. I'm on UPLAY+, so I didn't have to buy this, I would also like to add, and playing at a faultless 4K60fps on a 125" screen makes the visuals absolutely eye-popping. All of which I do believe makes a difference in how I feel about it. I'm actually enjoying this a lot – a solid 8/10 from me.

I'm not saying this review is wrong. No one's review is wrong, it is their own personal experience. But this review is unrecogniseable to me compared alongside my own experience with this title.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint offers a vast universe, where the survival aspects have been strengthened from GR Widlands. If the game suffers from a perfectible AI and a clear feeling of "déjà-vu", it doesn’t take anything away from its effectiveness. It works well, especially in coop, while the PVP is viciously nervous. An imperfect title, but with great moments, and a huge potential if handled with care by Ubisoft in the coming months.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint is coincidentally living up to its name, being a failure and potential gravedigger for the famous franchise. Riddled with Pay-to-Win microtransactions tacked on looter shooter gameplay and pretty under average storytelling, even Jon Berenthal wasn’t enough to arise this gameplay up to some decent playable heights.
  3. 70
At its best, Ghost Recon Breakpoint is a taut and tactical shooter that works brilliantly in co-op and is genuinely enjoyable to play but at its heart this is just another sandbox shooter and one that doesn't meet the technical standards we're used to from Ubisoft.
