    There is absolutely nothing to gloss over here, Ubisoft follows in the footsteps of EA and distances itself from its player community. I've been through this to some extent but now it's enough and I will distance myself from any games that continue to play this paywall policy.     Bought the Ultimate Edition to play early just to find it riddled with micro transactions. Ubisoft has made it clear they don't give a single f**k about their fan base & I'll be avoiding their overpriced garbage in future. Just lost a long time fan, but with the way Ubisoft has been heading it was inevitable. If you like overpriced crap filled with micro transactions than this game is for you.

    Like most people I have been looking forward to purchasing Ghost Recon Breakpoint for months only to discover through a recent vague tweet that it was online-only. Now that the game has been released for early access, I realise why this game was created as an online-only title.     Like most people I have been looking forward to purchasing Ghost Recon Breakpoint for months only to discover through a recent vague tweet that it was online-only. Now that the game has been released for early access, I realise why this game was created as an online-only title. And that is to give Ubisoft the means to target people through the excessive microtransaction system that they have adopted for this game.

    I have already contacted Ubisoft and told them to delete my uplay account, and any other accounts associated because of this issue. For many years I have purchased Ubisoft games, and have been very loyal as a consumer. Assassins Creed, Watch Dogs, Wildlands etc. But when I discovered that Ghost Recon Breakpoint was online-only, I decided to take a stand, and have made a personal vow to give no more custom to Ubisoft until their improper policies change. If we as gamers, do not draw this line in the sand right here and now, this problem will escalate to a point where the entire gaming industry will suffer significantly as a result.

    Just stop and think about the many people who do not have an Internet connection. And also stop and think about all the people who are being financially exploited by these microtransactions. It is easy to say that people are not forced to use these microtransactions, yet there are many news stories of vulnerable people running up huge bills

    In my opinion we do not need legislation against microtransactions. It would send out a more powerful message if we come together as gamers, and reject the use of microtransactions. WE can be the legislation. Not just gamers. But bloggers, YouTube gamers, reviewers, people in the industry. Let's advertise it everywhere. We can cripple microtransactions and these discrimatory online-only schemes through our own decisive actions. If everyone who has left a review here on Metacritic were to delete their uplay and Ubisoft accounts, it would change the dynamic of these corrupt practices in an instant.

    And just from being proactive, taking immediate and decisive action, we would rid ourselves of the practices that we detest. It is one thing to complain, but it is so much more effective to take immediate action. This is not just Ubisoft, this applies to other developers and games too. So let's get the ball rolling. Let's create a wave of awareness to save our gaming industry, and let's take decisive action together so that we can ALL continue to enjoy the games we play whether that is online or offline, and without being financially exploited.

    Let's tell Sony that if they are not transparent about how games are going to be sold on the PS5, that we are not going to invest in their console. As consumers we have had enough of guessing whether games will be online or offline, or whether we will be bombarded with these microtransactions. Let's take a stand not just for our own interests, but for the interests of others too. I would rather everyone be able to access and enjoy a game rather than just a select few.

    The games as a service model does not benefit any of us. And by showing our absolute unwaivering unity, we can ensure that such practices are completely unworkable.    … Expand

All ppl going with sniper rifes! and if you would like play to pvp you MUST play in PVE! Worst thing what i ever seen! No classes! You can be sniper and going with ppm! And assault with sniper rifes?     Lemme explain. I spent about 350 hours on Wildlands. Story was ok, skirmishes were intense, great content overall. I spent 15 hours on Breakpoint, and I just uninstalled it. I spent 60 bucks for a game who isn't worthy of being called a beta-version. Cons: - Rigged with bugs. Over the 3 first hours playing, I spent about 10 minutes    First things first, DO NOT buy this game.

    Lemme explain. I spent about 350 hours on Wildlands. Story was ok, skirmishes were intense, great content overall.

    I spent 15 hours on Breakpoint, and I just uninstalled it.

    I spent 60 bucks for a game who isn't worthy of being called a beta-version.

    Cons:
    - Rigged with bugs. Over the 3 first hours playing, I spent about 10 minutes floating around, walking on air. Half of the time spent inside an helicopter, my character was floating ou of the vehicle.

    - Whenever I started to get pulled in the story, it was shut down by the EXCRUCIATING AMOUNT OF TIME NEEDED TO LEVEL UP. Oh wait what's that ? You can actually speed up the process with micro transactions ? Fondle these balls, Ubisoft.

    - The AI (and combat in general). In Wildlands, I liked to play with the heavy sniper, as you could just kill a few goons from far away, the rest of them would hide and sound the alarm. Now you've got like, interns goons, who will happily stand in place while you kill them from afar. I cleared most of the bases by dropping a few mines at the entrance and then just shooting at the ground in front of the entrance. Ai will pack up, run toward the noise, get killed by the mines, done.

    - The character design. Sony called, they want their PS2 graphics back. Most of characters look like they're made of plastic, and then got some massive face surgery. I haven't seen such blocky faces since Mass Effect: Andromeda.

    Overall, this is a complete failure. Story was written by a Michael Bay wannabe high on acid, and character design was made using MS Paint. Every element that made Wildlands fun has been taken away, even the hunt for good weapons has been reduced to "Oh, you want a good sniper ? Then spend ~5 hours grinding for it. Oh, you want the BEST sniper ? That'll be 15 bucks mate".

    Pros:
    - Gotta be honest, sound design is good. Great music, gun sounds are ok, this was nice.

    - The micro-transactions never fail. Really. Feels like Ubisoft assigned all decent developers on payment methods.

    TL;DR : Wait about a year, until they completely patch it up, and then wait for a deep sale. I wouldn't spend more than 12 bucks for this.    … Expand

    Wow. And none of this is to do with the Beta state of the thing; it's just fifth-rate game design and a horribly compromised basic concept. There is nothing here for the singleplayer gamer at all and it's pretty easy to tell that multiplayer will be generic and vanilla. All the tedious homework building inventory and attempting to power-up your character is so intrusive and distracting from any kind of realistic core tactical combat that it makes Division 2 look like the best tac-shooter on the market. The imminent Call of Duty game could be the worst in the series and it will still be ten times as good as this lamentable, doomed mess of a game. It's really, really horrible. Wildlands was much better and that was a cartoon. I need to play a little Control now, just to remind myself what a well-designed game is.    … Expand

    Half-hearted game that makes a low-effort attempt at a Ghost Recon title. Save your money. Riddled with bugs, MTX and pay-to-win. Don't do what I did and get the ultimate edition, huge mistake. Wait for a deep, DEEP sale on this title...if it ever happens.

    The first 30 minutes of the game are the best it's going to get.

    If you have played Wildlands and see what you now get in Breakpoint, it´s lust a pile of s***t.
    The world is just...empty, you have nothing to explore, the KI is stupid as hell and the bugs just hurt.
    And then that Shop... i just don´t have the right words for that, it´s a sad sad story you get with this game...

    Do not buy this game. Don't encourage developers to produce buggy messes of games riddled with microtransactions meant to hedge money from players that have already bought a full price game. If the game is going to have features and mechanics like a free to play game just make it free.

Then they allowed those foreign developers to destroy their brands and IPs, such as Sam Fisher, and then making story lines that are actually insulting to their core target audience. All the sudden it was the old white American men that became the terrorists and the heroes became laughable failures. Now in GR BreakPoint they've come full circle and the bad guys are, get this, prior Ghost Recon soldiers. That's insulting to the consumer and the fan base. And this was revealed in the first 3 minutes of terrible gameplay. But this is what UbiSoft does. They insult us and laugh in our face. They are a terrible European company and their culture is represented in the terrible basic gameplay of the game. Within 10 mins I was literally looking for a way to get a refund on the play station store but of course there isn't one. It feels like a PS2 game. Controls are clunky, camera is terrible, AI is horrible, of course the graphics are sub par. Cut scenes are terrible. I should have came to Metacritic first and saved myself the money. I want to make something clear. It's not just the SJW progressive politics that ruin this game. It's the the basic fundamentals of gameplay in which it fails. In all categories it fails. Then I got to the second cut scene where it's revealed that a Ghost Recon soldier is one of the main bad guys.... Terrible. That's when I put the controller down and decided to take a breath and consider that yes, this is actually a **** game. Sometimes we want games to be good so we lie to ourselves until something just slaps us in the face. Even the little things are wrong and messed up. For instance in the first minute of gameplay you pick up a "416" rifle that takes 5.56 rounds LOL. For those of you that don't know, a 416 takes .416 caliber rounds LOL. Its like no one even QC'd this game or they just didn't care. And this is supposed to be mil sim Tom Clancy **** LOL. Tom Clancy would never approve of this horse ****.

    I've never rated a game on Metacritic but this experience has been so terrible that I signed up and rated this game a zero and wrote this long ass review because that's how bad this game made me feel. I quit after 10 minutes... My review doesn't even reflect the points of other reviewers such as always online and the microtransactions. I'm sure there are many other flaws that I spared myself from by quitting after 10 minutes of gameplay.

All in all, It is evident this entire project was rushed, unoriginal, lacking any creativity, and also lacks an identity. It probably should have sat in development for two more years. Jon Berthanal does great work as always, but I feel bad for him because Ubisoft could have had a much better story for him to be in. Instead its sooooo frickin' boring because it never wants to push the limits. If I were you, I would wait until this game is $20 or below before buying it. Then at least the bugs will (hopefully) be fixed and you won't feel ripped off. Even if the game is a boring mess that lacks identity and gets repetitive.

    P.S. This game is Online only, meaning you have to always have an internet connection to play it. This is terrible as well because the game becomes completely unplayable if you ever want to play it in a place that doesn't have internet.    … Expand

    This is my first ghost recon game and its so boring. there is use of stealth mode. the progression system is a even worst. And you have to have a friend playing with you, if it's not available for playing game then the solo mode is very tough even on a lower difficulty. Graphics are OK but that's least expected from a game coming out in 2019. I would not suggest anyone buy this game.

Then if you wanna turn this off you have to traverse the sub menus to get more sub menus of the real menus and so on and so forth making it already unesscarily frustrating . And their big selling point was that now in this installment you can burn thru gates with a torch and cover you're self in dirt which I will add were cool features until you have to circumnavigate the whole complex of an enemy base just to find one gate that actually allows you to cut through it and open it up . The worst part of the game for me though and was a total turn off was the same ol same ol division like rpg looter shooter nonsense of picking up more weapons with gear levels and all this **** you don't care about . So instead of making the game with success like wildlands their stubbornly decided to suffocate the game with the modern gaming industries cancer which is you guessed it more microtransactions and timesink mechanics to say hay you bought our game now for a pretty penny you don't like it now too bad go **** you're self . So after that stunt I decided I won't be buying one more single Ubisoft game ever again and I encourage others to do the same.… Expand

    this game is great, but it lacks the ability to switch shoulders, i despise games that is always on left shoulders, when a game developer knows that 3rd person should always be on the right of the shoulder not the left, make me feel sick, i cannot go more than 2 minutes without feeling motion sickness because the camera set on the left shoulder is not what I'm used to and its way harder tothis game is great, but it lacks the ability to switch shoulders, i despise games that is always on left shoulders, when a game developer knows that 3rd person should always be on the right of the shoulder not the left, make me feel sick, i cannot go more than 2 minutes without feeling motion sickness because the camera set on the left shoulder is not what I'm used to and its way harder to play game when your used to 3rd person games being on the right shoulder, the struggle i had with this game is trying to play around with the camera and my character just for the camera to switch to the right shoulder, hardly even works correctly, if devs wants to have it set to the left shoulder then give us the ability to **** that to the right shoulder permanently in settings. This games hub where you can see other players is also confusing, half the time idk where the exit is or where I go to talk to someone to start or complete a mission, even the objective notification is outright not user friendly when i want to complete mission 1/ep1 I shouldn't see 3rd mission if i haven't even competed the 1st one yet. this game i was hoping to get better but got worse in a lot of ways!!!!!… Expand

    Ghost Recon Breakpoint offers a vast universe, where the survival aspects have been strengthened from GR Widlands. If the game suffers from a perfectible AI and a clear feeling of "déjà-vu", it doesn’t take anything away from its effectiveness. It works well, especially in coop, while the PVP is viciously nervous. An imperfect title, but with great moments, and a huge potential if handled with care by Ubisoft in the coming months.

    Ghost Recon Breakpoint is coincidentally living up to its name, being a failure and potential gravedigger for the famous franchise. Riddled with Pay-to-Win microtransactions tacked on looter shooter gameplay and pretty under average storytelling, even Jon Berenthal wasn’t enough to arise this gameplay up to some decent playable heights.

    At its best, Ghost Recon Breakpoint is a taut and tactical shooter that works brilliantly in co-op and is genuinely enjoyable to play but at its heart this is just another sandbox shooter and one that doesn't meet the technical standards we're used to from Ubisoft.
