Had a lot of fun with Wildlands so I had hopeful expectations and I was saddle let down. What's with the scrolling left to right 1st person view. Could you find a worse way to play a game. No option for 3rd person like Wildlands was. Very tedious and repeating the senstuff over and over.

Solid game, tight controls, good shooting mechanics.
All you losers may think that you are making a difference by review bombing every game with microtransactions, but all you're actually doing is making Metacritic user score completely useless to determine if a game is good or not. Good job, you've done nothing to the companies, but taken a valuable resource away from fellow gamers.

After seeing all the hate I assumed this game was a pile of junk and so avoided it until there was a good sale on PS4 store. I was a big fan of GR Wildlands and honestly this seems significantly better. It looks better, plays better and is a hell of a lot of fun. I'm at 122 gear lvl and finding it hard to stop playing.

Very few bugs I've run into, the grind is actually kind of a great progression that keeps you motivated rather than a chore. Microtransactions have not been an issue, I have bought none and having a great time.
I'm actually liking not having ai team mates because it got a bit easy to use sync shot all the time and just cheese your way though hard bases etc. Here you actually have to do a bit more work and I'm liking it.
Maybe they've changed the game a bit but I doubt much since it's still pretty new but I'd suggest ignoring the 0 reviews especially if you liked Wildlands. To me this is quite a big step up and I'd recommend it.
I'm even thinking about buying it for PC as well since it will probably run even better on my 1080 Ti but annoyed it isn't on steam.

After more than a month this game is still an awkward mess with a horrible atmosphere and story... a boring catastrophe. The breakpoint of the game-as-a-service ubisoft open world template. They should let it die, apologize to Tom Clancy fans and try to learn their lesson for the future. Dont waste your time and money on this.

First, I''l say the criticisms of the gameplay and story (what I have actually been able to play of it) are a bit exaggerated. If you enjoyed the combat/stroy in GR: Wildlands and The Division 2, this is basically the same. I also actually like the world, though I can see how some might find it bland. There are, however, two major problems that make this game an absolute dumpster fire--an inexcusable release from a company that knows better.

First, due to it always having to be online, and the fact that the Ubisoft servers are AWFUL, it's basically unplayable. Even solo, you get kicked off the servers every 30 mins or so, booting you back to the title screen. You can thus forget and co-op or PVP. There's a bunch of nonsense on their website containing suggestions that don't work or involve calling your ISP. I'm not getting on the phone with Spectrum to make your garbage game work. That's not my job. It's your job to make a game that works and has stable servers--especially if it's always on line even when it doesn't need to be. (By the way, this isn't an issue for me with any other game, including other Ubisoft games. So stop it. Fix this crap)

The second reason is the micro transaction, pay-to-win BS. I'm not even going to bother going back over that well trod ground. It's still there and it's indefensible. I'd read the game had been improved and got it on sale, thinking to give a shot to a game made by a publisher whose stuff I've generally really enjoyed. Very much regret it now. Avoid this STD of a game at all costs.

An upgrade on Wildlands several new mechanics are introduced but in essence its the same experience but longer and bigger. It ads microtransactions but at no point I got forced to use them. The downside for me its the story that doesn't feel as interesting as the previous one and a fictional location instead of a real world place.

The open world in this game is extremely boring. The physics are beyond horrible. The driving in this game feels terrible and it is just tacked-on garbage. The cars barely have any physics. The missions and level design are boring and repetitive. The greedy developers made the game so you can buy you're way to success, rather than actually playing the game. The running animations are cringeworthy.

This game is online only. So once the developers decide to switch off the servers, this game will end up in the trash can. Charging $60 for an online only game is a cashgrab. I don't recommend this awful game at all. This game should be a free-to-play game.

    - Yves Guillemot is not entirely to blame on this failure of a game. The developers and team leads for this game were not honest with themselves or the Ubisoft company. ...But that dude Yeves G was the final thumbs up that allowed many to purchase this hot mess of a game.
    - The survival, Shoot-looter gameplay is very similar, if not identical to every other survival, shoot looter on the market (Fallout, The Division, Far Cry, Days gone, ...[insert every open world shooter game here].
    - A lot of the gameplay looks and feels like The Division 2, which is annoying because THIS IS NOT THE DIVISION.

It's too easy on the lower difficulty levels. Play it on Extreme with no mini map and the game really comes alive and becomes really immersive. Not only that, but it makes the survival, crafting and gear score elements to the game actually have meaning... they have no meaning on lower difficulty because it's too easy. On Extreme mode you can't go in guns blazing, you'll quickly get over run and die. On Extreme you really have to pre-plan and recon each "compound" you're infiltrating before you head in.

This game is pure fun to play, the guns feel satisfying to use, the graphics are beautiful on PS4 Pro, the "grind" feels rewarding and not a chore. Playing co-op with friends and even Randoms elevates the game to another level.

Microtransactions, honestly, unless you actively look for them you wouldn't even know that they're in the game. They're pointless to buy anyway. They give nobody an unfair advantage whether that be PVE or PVP... I don't agree with MTX in games, especially ones that are Pay To Win, but the ones where they're purely cosmetic items or things you can get by just playing the game then I really couldn't care less whether they're in the game or not - because I'm not stupid enough to buy them.

There are a few minor bugs, things like the distance on the objective marker would disappear, once my drone wouldn't deploy, little things like that where restarting the game fixed the problem. Nothing game breaking.

The PVP is fun, however it's only best of 3 rounds so the games don't last long, that wouldn't be a problem but the loading screens in between rounds and games are really long, so you can often spend more time watching the loading screen than actually playing! It's even more annoying when someone leaves mid game.

Really good game, can't stop playing it, I'm perplexed by the bad reviews, I really am. Like I said, if you want to experience the game at it's best, play it on Extreme difficulty, it'll feel more immersive, more of a challenge and all of the crafting, survival and gear score elements are no longer redundant like they are on the lower difficulties.

There are no more microtransactions in this game than any other game I have played that incorporates microtransactions. They are a non-issue. The game is just a LOT of fun to play. Yes there are glitches and bugs, and some are very hard to understand how they made it through QA. However, they are far from game-breaking, and again, this game is a BLAST to play.

There are other issues with fundamental mechanics, such as the incorporation of gear score - i, for one, live for leveling and gear score and such, but it just doesn't have a prominent enough purpose in this game. But game-breaking?! No. I only wish they'd gone further with it.

Play the game yourselves before giving it negative reviews, people. I will continue to support Ubisoft and their devs, because they make games that are fun, and obviously put a lot of love into them.

At times I noticed that Nomad would do a press check on the equipped weapon to make sure a round was seated in the chamber. This kind of stuff in the game is just what Ghost Recon needed. The vehicle assortment is pretty damn good (I will elaborate in "The Bad" portion of this review). Weapon diversity makes sure that if your bored with your set up and want to try a different approach to an objective they are there for consideration. Certain mission require you to do some sleuthing which lends itself towards immersion, giving details that are absent from the lackluster cut scenes.
The Bad: The vehicles in this game handle only marginally better than Wildlands. While you do have quite a large selection to choose from you need in-game currency to purchase every single one of them. Ubisoft did take mercy on the player and supplies a Helicopter as a default mode of transportation. While John Bernthal is a pretty damn good actor his talent is largely wasted on Breakpoint. Cut scenes are few and far in-between with poor animation leaving just an empty sense of what exactly is going on. Repetitive side-missions, factions missions, and immediately being able to take on Bernthal makes this game feel repetitive but that is par for Ubisoft sand box games or any games of similar genre.
The Ugly: The gear score system in Breakpoint is out of place and DOES NOT BELONG IN THE GHOST RECON FRANCHISE!!! I cannot stress this enough! While it works for The Division 1 & 2 this seems shoe-horned in for obvious reasons but not for the reasons critics and players have been stating. This implementation of gear score is both a funnel and a soft progression block herding you towards certain portions of the map instead of you choosing where you want to start your experience on Aurora. The RPG elements destroys immersion and instead of feeling like a Tier-1 Operator who has fought in multiple theatres of operation, you have to build up skills that makes progression through the game easier. "Kills Skills" that normally would be found in the Borderlands franchise are present in Breakpoint stripping any realism or the feel of being outnumbered and outgunned. You can literally make a tank build that is effective even on "Extreme" difficulty. The much touted "advanced AI' that Ubisoft advertised is not present and is just laughable. The enemy will continually walk through the same door way despite the fact that the bodies of their squad mates are piled in and around the entrance. Things from a couple of soldiers spinning in circles to not spotting you when your 20 ft. away from them is evidence that Ubisoft has falsely advertised yet again certain aspects of their products. The "player hub" is also SOMETHING THAT SHOULD OF NEVER BEEN PUT INTO A GHOST RECON GAME!!! It contradicts the story line and can only be attributed to as a decision to cut down cost of production. Why make something unique for a game when you can reuse assets from other IP's. The firearms in this game feel dumb down compared to Wildlands. When I was using a .338 Lapua round the bullet drop was abysmal. This is where the RPG aspect of the game rears it's ugly head. There is a perk you can equip that boosts your maximum range of engagement making the guns shoot a little more realistically but having this option in the first place ruins what could of been very satisfying gun play. Now finally the micro-transactions! There is no "pay to win" options but Ubisoft has decided to lock a lions share of cosmetics behind pay walls. In Wildlands you could customize your character till your heart's content but with Breakpoint you start off with only 5 different camouflage options and they are divide between weapon skins and equipment skins. Clothing can be unlocked fairly quickly with the looting system but still the more popular of choices you have to pay real money to unlock. The survival aspect of this game is just not present. With infinite bandages to patch yourself up survival is no problem.
In Conclusion I don't recommend this game to anybody. Ubisoft has ruined the Ghost Recon Franchise with their reuse of assets from other games to cut down on over-head cost. Micro-transactions locked a lot of the cosmetics behind pay-walls destroying any immersion to be found in this game. Gun play is sub-par, draw distance is pathetic, enemy AI is child's play, & story line is on par with Destiny. Avoid till this game is on-sale for $20 and with a healthy amount of patches

Like you can buy everything in the game. Plus more....Its disgusting. Theres more quality put into the shop then the game itself...Which brings me to the game itself. Yes theres a few new features that are nice but didn't take much effort... But lets look at everything. The game Is 10000% a copy and paste of ghost recon wildlands....Every gun sounds the exact same as the ones in wildlands which...EVERY GUN...sounds....exactly....the same....Every single gun feels exactly the same...I love my M4's and Sig guns....But in this game..I could be using a Uzi and it feels just like the m4...and Every single other gun....almost every gun has the same animations. They all were copy and pasted from wildlands. Attachments are almost unnoticeable differences. All player animations are complete copy and pastes as well as ALL cosmetics... Vehicles handle like ....? Matchbox cars...I mean awful....They lied that they improved it because they operate worse then wildlands and they too are copy and pastes.....The ai are the dumbest **** **** ever. Legit the fastest way to do anything. Go into a base. Go into a building and just ? 1 tap everyone as they funnel through the door because none use any tactics as well as you listen to them try to shoot you through walls . The big bad wolfs are just as dumb as the rest of the ai. No tactic at all. The game Runs like **** and even on max graphics looks no different from wild lands. The game has no guidance at all. You honestly can go kill the main boss. Walker within 30 minutes of starting the story....Seriously. The Story is completely missed the target. Boring lazying Lacking, And makes no SENSE... your suppose to be on your own because you have (No ai teamates, Which even though they are annoying i miss them because now the games just boring and empty and lonely for any solo players. Its barebly with teamates but theres no tactics anymore because the broken ai who hear you 5 miles away from a base) But your suppose to be on your own...but THERES A CAVE FILLED WITH 40-50 OTHER GHOSTS... Which Ghost war is GOD awful. After playing this game and fighting so hard to like it ....Begging myself to.....after 6 hours of play i relised i had my money stolen....this is just wildlands but worse with a new map and injury... The bivoac which was some big thing they hyped.... its stupid boring and only good for travel. 6 hours in i realized this games the most boring ghost recon ever....The most poorly made....Biggest money grab....I thought EA was bad?....I mean EA is a god awful joke....But this??? Ubisoft taking hundreds for editions of this pile of recycled JUNK....This is absolutely HORRIBLE.....If anyone buys this game...Im sorry ....if you buy after reading this and the rest of these reviews that i fought to not believe ...Your stupid Expand

Ubi says they listen to their fans but while they seem to take one step forward in one aspect, they take several steps back in others. No one asked for many of the things they introduced in GRB and in some cases, the community had even made jokes about it in the past (e.g. "drone wars").

While GRW wasn't perfect, my friends and I loved it and we also liked their vision. However, I didn't like where they started taking that title with the release of GW, leveling weapons in Tier One or with their fantasy themed DLC. The writing was on the wall at that point that they had no intention of sticking with their original direction for GRW but at least we still had the core campaign that was unspoiled by GW or the other content if you didn't wish to play that.

Read the reviews. Even many of the folks who say they like the game admit they don't like where they took the franchise with GRB. It's always a bit of a compromise with these games but this time there was nowhere near enough there for me to justify putting up with all the things I hate about it.

All the 'fun' features of Wildlands are nowhere to be seen: shallow character creation/modification, no allied AI squad, no requesting deliveries in the field, no challenging areas (you either have the gear to kill everything, or it kills you; it's all a gear-wall), and JFC the enemy AI is non-existent. I am not even impressed with the scenery; it's not as pretty as Wildlands or AC Origins or even the Division 2 in my opinion. And HOLY HELL, the gameplay mechanics are a freaking mess. The POV is too close to your player (making your character take up too much of the screen), and it CONSTANTLY KEEPS SWITCHING TO LEFT-SHOULDER VIEW (arguably my most annoying gripe), weapons disappear, reload animations get stuck mid fire-fight, and if you want to bring up your HUD/mission interface it covers 2/3rds of the freaking screen. Clipping/pathing sucks (I keep getting the 'CLIMB' or 'CROSS' prompt even when I'm walking on relatively flat ground), and there are several skills/abilities that are not well-explained or not intuitive at all, and the skill trees are restrictive and messy. The introduction of the leveled-gear system makes you constantly change inventory and gives a reason to try out new weapons. It also offers a bit of realism to the situation, since you are kind of playing guerilla warfare it would be logical to loot your enemies for their weapons. The environment feels alive and continuously changing, with snowstorms, rain, fog, etc. The AI is more natural (for the most part), meaning that if someone spots you, that one guy 20 miles from you will not sprint towards you with a sign saying "shoot me" just yet. Enemies learn, sometimes they will hide inside houses if they know you are sniping, or stay behind cover and force you to go down and take them out one by one. These small details make for an excellent experience. Is it perfect? No, it is not, but if you give it a try and don't play it with the mindset "it is going to suck," you might notice the important things that make it a great game. Expand

Lot of bad reviews of this game. Let's just get the cons out of the way. The worst being the micro-transactions. This game is littered with them. This is an obvious P2W game and if you are all about multiplayer, my suggestion to you would be to avoid the game unless you have a bigger bank account than most and are willing to spend a few hundred more $$$ to either kick everybody else's buttLot of bad reviews of this game. Let's just get the cons out of the way. The worst being the micro-transactions. This game is littered with them. This is an obvious P2W game and if you are all about multiplayer, my suggestion to you would be to avoid the game unless you have a bigger bank account than most and are willing to spend a few hundred more $$$ to either kick everybody else's butt or in most cases, get even with everyone. Also, not confined to just this game, but let's just call this "3 days early" mess what it is. You get to pay a little more money to get the game on time or, you can pay only the $60 and get the game 3 days late. That trend in video games has got to go. Finally, I really don't like the always online thing. If my internet goes down, I should still be able to play the game and being always online means that I am at the mercy of my internet provider to be able to enjoy a $60 game. But if you can get past this micro-transaction, money grabbing heavy game and have enough discipline to not spend any extra money on it, It really is a pretty decent game. I am not a big shooter game person. I don't play Battlefield or COD and I did not play the Wildlands or either Division game. So I don't really have anything to compare this too. What I can say about it, is that after watching my son play this, (which is why I bought the game, for him, not me) I thought looked good and it looked fun to play. So I have been playing at night after everyone goes to bed and it just keeps me coming back for more. It's fun. The gun play is good, the graphics are good and the weapons handle well. I like the story so far and I will finish the game eventually. I think that is the most important thing for a game, something that is fun enough to keep you coming back. I won't play multiplayer so I can't comment on that, and I will not be using any "time savers" or buying any "crafting bundles" or tattoos, so the micro-transactions won't really bother me. This is in no way defending Ubisoft for putting them in there like this, but this game can be enjoyable without spending any extra money. Bottom line is if I was scoring this on gameplay and fun playing the game, this game gets a 9. But having to think about the micro-transactions, P2W scheme and always online aspects, it gets a 2. So I figured 6 was a good compromise. Expand

TL;DR Actual rating 4 at most, perhaps a 6 if you play co-op with friends exclusively which is where the most fun is to bad had but the excessive micro-transactions ruin it and damage Ubi-Softs reputation at the same time, you're better than this Ubi-Soft!

More broken than people realize, the amount of bugs...some of them serious is astounding and it was clear this game was not ready for launch. Some of the bugs and issues which was discovered closed beta was never addressed, Drone/Night Vision and enemy tagging often bugs and becomes unusable, daily escort/rescue missions often have no end-point so you cannot finish them and the server often crashes causing lost progress.

Weak story, Ghost War doesn't make any sense with the narrative story and typical par Ubi-Soft for collectables, hidden areas and outpost grinding etc~ basically quite similar to wildlands just more annoying to travel around. Many areas feel empty and lifeless which unfortunately doesn't help, wildlands open world had a living, breathing feeling with NPCs and vehicles driving where as Breakpoint feels lifeless.

One of the very biggest issues is the sheer amount of recycled content, you have a giant island with 1000s of locations to discover...yet its just really about 10 or 20 or so locations just re-used over and over again, same with the enemies...there is about 7 or 8 different enemies and that is pretty much it for the entire game, not including unique story related bosses of course so basically after a few hours of playing, you literally have seen most of the game has to offer...same content, just in a different location.

Drone combat is also a joke, murmurs are perhaps the most annoying enemy in the history of gaming. They are fairly harmless to your character but utterly destroy vehicles like helicopters, and you pretty much need a 3rd party aimbot to destroy them because once agitated they move extremely fast in an unpredictable pattern for 10 or so seconds before stopping briefly, which is your window to shoot at them again before flying around again at mach 10.

Gunplay is fine, almost a cut and paste of wildlands in that respect however, the AI seems to have been downgraded with pathing issues making enemies act in strange ways occasionally. Sound and gameplay are actually just average to be honest, they are not ground breaking but not bad either, most people could get some enjoyment from playing.

Driving mechanics is actually WORST than wildlands, the helio controls are a joke - trying to aim is a chore as the control is super twitchy and takes alot of practice to compensate, generally driving is just comical sometimes.

Now, addressing the elephant in the room. The atrocious MTX, seriously - this cannot be allowed to become the norm and a line in the sand needs to be drawn by the players and by regulating governments, not industry watchdogs who are directly in the pockets of the industry and literally do not support or protect the consumers at all, looking at you ESRB. Anyone supporting predatory microtransaction and loot boxes are the ones slowly destroying the gaming industry here, and need to be called out on it.

MTX has no place in any AAA titles, the entire arguments about cosmetic only is even a one sided argument and even that shouldn't have any place in a full price title, let alone full on pay to win mechanics.

Back in the mid 2000s when Free to Play MMos dominated, loot boxes, gambling and MTX was rife and the greed is what eventually led to the downfall of freemium MMos, look at that industry now - its DEAD, on life-support at best, the mobile gaming industry adopted many of those sinister business practices from freemium MMos and the birth of the cancerous IAP market was born, just look at the mobile gaming industry right now - its pure cancer and that has been slowly spreading to AAA industry over the past few years..

We saw EA and Bethesda both try some fairly underhanded monetization tactics, as well as Rockstar heavily monetizating GTA online and as some of the blowback with controversial titles like Battlefront 2 are still fresh, Ubi-Soft which have been generally walking the tight-rope with monetization decides to one-up everyone by pretty much monetizating the entire game, heck the only thing I'm surprised at is they haven't monetized bullets/ammo yet....oh wait, they did in Far Cry 5 - this is a warning to Ubi-Soft, this is going to hurt your reputation significantly from here on out, any future products will be heavily scrutinized for similar business practices and I highly suggest you decide to ease way back on MTX for future releases.

Also, Ubi-Softs TOS is pretty bad too, essentially you cannot get any refunds for ANY digital purchases on the uplay store > NO MATTER WHAT < whether you purchased a game and your having issues, or you pre-ordered a game and decide to cancel that pre-order.

Let's just be honest, even if there was no microtransactions, the game is still a lazy mash up of everything that Ubisoft ASSUMES that players will like, big open world, fancy background story, stealth, shooty looty, it all worked just okay in the first 2 hours and then, boom, it all fell apart. Every 2 damn minutes you get some new gears with higher gear scores and eventually you get numb and tired and don't wanna loot a single crate anymore; the RPG element has absolutely no significance unless you really wanna piss off those metal gear rip-off robots; the story describe the enemy soldiers as " former spec ops", well "former spec ops" my a$$, this is the most stupid AI enemy I have ever experienced in recent years, any enemy soldier from Splintercell Chaos Theory can easily kick their asses, and their stupidity has nothing to do with the difficulty settings, I played on the highest difficulty and they were still stupid in most occasions, the only difference is the damage of each bullets they fire at you, and you have to know that being defeated by dumb but deadly enemy is not fun at all.
This game wasted my time, money and my hope in Ubisoft creating a decent fun game, I hope Ubisoft never recover from the backlash that this game has caused.

The gun rights are smoother than wildlands. The looter shooter aspect makes killing enemies more rewarding. This game is terrible. A MAJOR step backward from Wildlands all while it insults and perverts the Tom Clancy name. Ubisoft with their predatory microtransactions may just be worse than ever before coupled with the fact that they turned this once prestigious tactical shooter into a mindless RPG/looter-shooter. Disgusting. I am appalled at Ubisoft for thinking any of this was a good idea and most of the "Survival" features are not even really survival features at all. It was all just a marketing ploy and you do not have to use any of them. The AI behaves in a mentally retarded capacity and acts nothing like the "elite soldiers" you are supposed to be facing. Cutscenes look like they were ripped out of a ps2 game, and voice acting is all over the place. Some is good, but some is really, REALLY, bad. The technical bugs this game has are plentiful and often ruin the immersion. The story is extremely generic and uninspired. It seems like the writers were scared of pushing the envelope with it, so they stuck to the same boring themes we see with every other game that has went with this course. All in all, It is evident this entire project was rushed, unoriginal, lacking any creativity, and also lacks an identity. It probably should have sat in development for two more years. Jon Berthanal does great work as always, but I feel bad for him because Ubisoft could have had a much better story for him to be in. Instead its sooooo frickin' boring because it never wants to push the limits. If I were you, I would wait until this game is $20 or below before buying it. Then at least the bugs will (hopefully) be fixed and you won't feel ripped off. Even if the game is a boring mess that lacks identity and gets repetitive.

P.S. This game is Online only, meaning you have to always have an internet connection to play it. This is terrible as well because the game becomes completely unplayable if you ever want to play it in a place that doesn't have internet.

I mean I pay 100€ for the Game and Im not even close to getting everything, no I have to spend 1000€ to get everything.
And yes Im angry even if it is just a skin, because I can remember that there was a time where I spend 50€ to 100€ ( depending on the game) and had everything in that Game, or better saying I was abble to unlock it at least without to spend money again.

After seeing all the 0's and 10's I decided to try to give this game an in-depth unbiased review and try to touch on most of the important subjects.

My personal tastes won't allow me to go any higher than a 5 for this game, I'm not a fan of looter shooter's, I think too much time is spent playing barbie and going through pages upon pages of loot, I'd rather just pick the equipment I want,

My personal tastes won't allow me to go any higher than a 5 for this game, I'm not a fan of looter shooter's, I think too much time is spent playing barbie and going through pages upon pages of loot, I'd rather just pick the equipment I want, and play the game, especially in the case of Ghost Recon, which should be a semi-realistic tactical shooter.

If you like looter shooter's I'd say it's a 6. It's a 6 because there are a ton of bugs and the game is trying to appease too many different types of player's, and does nothing it tries very well. It's just a case of Ubisoft trying to toss out the biggest net possible in order to catch the most fish.

The microtransactions were kind of pay to win before Ubisoft back tracked and removed them when the internet got ahold of it and tore them apart. The microtransactions are optional now, you don't need them, but you also can't get the most popular cosmetics available without buying them with real money. These types of microtransactions that paywall the best looking, most sought after items are a free-to-play game business model, and should not be in a full priced game. You absolutely should be able to unlock everything by playing the game, with Breakpoint, this is not the case. For example, you can get ghillie suit pants for free by looting, but have to buy the guillie suit top.

They designed and implemented the social hub to stick high level player's into your hub to encourage you buy things in the store, it's the only reason they forced it into the game, as it adds nothing else besides a tedious walk into this massive, spread out social hub. If you have a squad of 4, it's going to take at least 30 mins to get in and out by the time everyone is done returning missions, getting new ones, selling, buying, crafting, breaking down gear. It's just like Division in this aspect, it gets tedious and is annoying.

The shooting feels more or less the same as Wildlands, a little more unrealistic and arcadey due to the looter shooter element, you can't shoot through cover the same as you could in Wildlands, with my .50 caliber sniper I couldn't shoot through a metal plate attached to a railing on a walkway to get the guy behind it, which is a perfect scenario to use that weapon in. Also, enemies don't react to getting shot.

A headshot is a one hit kill, but body shots are weaker than in Wildlands, instead of 2-3 body shots it's more like 5-6 shots for a kill. This makes the game feel arcadey, instead of headshots being a riskier finesse move that's mostly unnecessary, it makes them absolutely necessary when trying to take down multiple enemies quickly and quietly. This makes weapons feel weaker than they should, especially with bigger caliber weapons.

I haven't played PvP in Breakpoint, but if it's anything like Wildlands, which from what I've read, it is, it's hide and seek with guns, not for me.

Vehicle's have gotten worse overall, a couple of the 4x4's feel better, but the bike's handle worse than in Wildlands, helicopters too.

Last but not least, robots/drones. These are the purple and yellow health bar enemy equivalent from Division, they are bullet sponges, even the tiny drones that shoot at you alongside the human AI take far too many shots to take down. If you choose to ignore your GS like a lot of the positive reviews say you can, these drones become even more spongey, the same goes for body shots on human AI that are far above your Gear Score level.

The game can be fun, and the bones for a really good Ghost Recon game are there, but it's buried under The Division gameplay, crafting, looting, social hubs, all these things take away from the game.

Me and 3 friends who played Wildlands together for literally years, played an hour and noticed we were only doing mission's and in combat for about 10 mins out of every hour, too much time is spent with all the extras in this game, one of my friends put it this way, "It feels like doing a mission is a reward for all the running around you need to constantly be doing."

That's my honest take for the game.

If this game was made by anyone but Ubisoft, most peoples view on the game would be completely different. As it stands, it does borrow so much stuff from other ubisoft titles that it does lose its way in terms of being true to its heritage.

However, that being said the game is great, amidst a large amount of bugs. The Good:- -Gunplay feels satisfying on Expert. Each shot counts.

However, that being said the game is great, amidst a large amount of bugs.

    The Good:-
-Gunplay feels satisfying on Expert. Each shot counts. Genuinely scared to tackle some drones, or pick a large fight.
-Large varied open world, always feel like something new to see and the bases are so fun to clear out or infiltrate.
-So much room for Milsim / RP narrative.
    -Really fun for coop teams.
-Story seems intriguing, whilst not anything groundbreaking its still refreshing to have compared to the last outing.
-Exploration mode.. this is probably my fave implementation.. having to recon and actually use the map to find objectives.

    The Bad:-
-Bugs. Lots of Bugs. (Hopefully will get patched soon)
-The social hub.. hate this.. I just got marooned on a hostile island, i shouldnt have to see this place covered in 50+ ghosts.
-Spongy drones.. I wish there was a way to ghost take down drones, instead of having to go loud, but I guess it does change up the gameplay.
-Always online.. I dont get why this is even a thing. Does not need to be.
-Lack of AI companions. I would like to hire a team over the course of the game or something.

Note: I didnt state that microtransactions are a bad thing, whilst they can be, I never felt in the 40+ hours of playing that I needed to buy one, at all, ever. People are blowing it out of proportion in my honest opinion.

Summary: Great open world game with alot of wiggle room for playing how you want. There is a loot system from division / assassins creed, love the inclusion of exploration mode and I feel like even just exploring the map will give most hours of fun. If the game wasnt made by ubisoft, people would give it an 8/10. I'm taking the game for what it is, how it does it and how enjoyable it is from a person who loves playing as a sniper, stealthy infiltrator. 8/10

Normally I'd give this a full rating, but being restricted to being online 100% of the time just pisses me off. The game itself is just amazing and the same goes for the map and locations, truly beautiful. Auroa is not as big as Bolivia as far as I've noticed, but it's definitely more alive. Very sad to only give this an 8 out of 10 but that happens when you make a single player game

Very sad to only give this an 8 out of 10 but that happens when you make a single player game online-only, same goes for the Division 2. Also kinda disappointed in the amount of weapons, wildlands had an absolute TON of weapons to choose from, though being able to change CQC stlye by choosing normal or Karambits is a nice addition. The flying and driving are just as smooth as in Wildlands, I hope they add the Predator here, though I highly doubt it, they should add some kind of mystical creature in the future. Though the story is quite non-existent to be quite honest, very dull compared to Wildlands and I hate the fact that a lot of gear and what not are locked behind microtransactions, I get it, if I want it I have to pay for it but come on, the game barely has any gear compared to Wildlands as it is.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint offers a vast universe, where the survival aspects have been strengthened from GR Widlands. If the game suffers from a perfectible AI and a clear feeling of "déjà-vu", it doesn’t take anything away from its effectiveness. It works well, especially in coop, while the PVP is viciously nervous. An imperfect title, but with great moments, and a huge potential if handled with care by Ubisoft in the coming months.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint is coincidentally living up to its name, being a failure and potential gravedigger for the famous franchise. Riddled with Pay-to-Win microtransactions tacked on looter shooter gameplay and pretty under average storytelling, even Jon Berenthal wasn’t enough to arise this gameplay up to some decent playable heights.

At its best, Ghost Recon Breakpoint is a taut and tactical shooter that works brilliantly in co-op and is genuinely enjoyable to play but at its heart this is just another sandbox shooter and one that doesn't meet the technical standards we're used to from Ubisoft.
