While the campaign is short, it still offers a great gameplay experience, like bosses and puzzles that you wouldn't normally find in a FPS. The game is not perfect and has changed some things for better or worse, but it still retains the fast and incredible smooth gamplay from the first TitanFall.

P.S. I've read some of the negative user reviews, and from what I can see those people only put in the minimum amount time possible (Or have not even played the game). Like I typed earlier it may appear like like another generic shoot, but the movement and combat is alone makes the game fun and full of replay value.

A hidden gem ! Multiplayer is pure fun and you can tell where all the talent from Infinity Ward went, it mops the floor with all the Call of Duty titles from the past 6 years ! Campaign is okay but I recommend playing it on highest difficulty if you wan't some challenge, otherwise it might feel a little short . Can't wait to see what free dlc will be provided post launch.

Best Singleplayer campagn since MW2! Even feels like oldschool FPS's experiences like Half-life2 (no jokes!)

Graphics could be better, still, tons of details on set etc. and looks like developers decided for 60fps instead - I like this choise! Game feels very smooth. MP - everything is super cool, only if they could give us ability to customize titans parts, like armor plates etc.

EA made super stupid release date for TF2, still I picked TF2 up.. not BF1, and I don't regret it :D

I can't wait what Respawn will offer to us next time.

I typically don't leave reviews but judging on how many battlefield **** came through to give zeroes for a game that didn't match their playstyle, I need to do my job to contribute. If you enjoy CoD pace and style, you will enjoy this game. It is the same experience but with tighter controls, more entertaining movement, larger maps, and mechs. The most solid twitch aim FPS out there. RIP CoD

I'd originally picked up Battlefield 1 last week, based on all the stellar reviews and gameplay footage of campaign and multiplayer modes. Now to give that game its proper due, the graphics and atmosphere are both fantastic, and multiplayer is massive to say the least. That said, I couldn't get into it for some reason - and didn't feel like I was having that much fun playing it.

With that, I went ahead and did a straight swap for Titanfall 2, even though I didn't have high expectations for it. Long story short, I haven't regretted that decision one bit, as TF2 is possibly the best console fps games I've played. The movement, speed, and gun fights remind me a little bit of Quake 3 Arena - which was absolutely frantic and tons of fun (from my PC gaming days and the old mouse and keyboard combo).

If you're still wondering which game to pick up, this'll hit the right spot if you're looking for something fast paced and fun. Highly recommended.

The only problem is it's not easy to do, especially when you're in the middle of full-scale interplanetary war. Nonetheless, you get your chance, albeit rather quickly which is kind of a shame .. they could have played out the training/desire factor a bit more, but still tons of fun nonetheless. Throughout the campaign you learn how to become a tier 1 pilot, picking up new and interesting titan loadouts along the way (weapons packages that give you different advantages against bosses). Oh yea, there's bosses. As an older gamer, I miss bosses being the checkpoint between levels. This game's got them and they're definitely challenging. The campaign is about 6 hours of play (didn't time it so forgive me) but by the end you start to love your titan and you save each other form crazy situations. The final scene is one of hope that sets up a likely sequel (YES!). They did an amazing job of playing with emotions and weaving a great story amongst a chaotic universe.

Multiplayer is just tons of fun. There were critics saying you didn't get Titans quick enough during the tech test ... well you get them plenty fast now, so don't listen to that nonsense. Leveling is no quick feat, so prepare to spend some serious time just getting the next best gun. Customization is on point, tons of different ways to play The addition of the pilot tactical (like grapple or sonar knife) make the game tons of fun to play. You can really move around the map just like in the first one, except now you're doing it FASTER.

Get this game ... you really won't regret it.

It’s a nice 8.5/10 game not worth the “could be the FPS of the year” **** found in most reviews.
Do yourself a favor and play the single player Doom campaign first. It’s amazing.

As for the multiplayer? For me it’s just another Call of Duty. This means it’s great, but in no way truly different from what we all know (and mostly love). I was very disappointed.

The game starts on a high note. Visually stunning and in fluid 60 frames per second. The first level is absolutely gorgeous. My first (not very technical) impression was: “holy **** they outdid Uncharted 4 and in 60fps! Why would I buy the PS4 PRO? How much better can it get?”. Yes, it’s that good.
That is all the praise this game is going to get from me though.
The graphics are so amazing that for the first hour or so you don’t notice how boring the gameplay is. It’s only when the visual splendor drops drastically (to recover at the final part of the game for a short while) that you notice that this is just another Call of Duty game with wall-running and Titans. To be fair, the visual fidelity is not changing at all. It’s the “story” that takes place in some terribly dull environments like the really dark sewage system or the weird sci-fi factory (that makes you jump like it’s a new Mario with guns).
I bought the game after reading how amazing it is in the reviews. It’s cool but not that great.

Let me point out the main problems in this game for me:

    1. Wall-running and jumping is unpredictable. You’ll die many times because the system is unpredictable. The good thing here is that after every “parkour death” you will restart quickly just were you died
    2. Guns are so confusing. This is a Call of Duty problem because it doesn’t work in the sci-fi setting. While we love to have the real names of all guns and many of us know the brands and models from movies or thug’s life (wink), it is pointless to name the fake guns using codes and numbers (for example something like RC270) in a game that has so many weapons. Easy solution? Less weapons that are almost the same and more characteristic names (funnily enough some of those weapons do just that, like the Mastiff-something riffle).
    3. The levels are boring in my opinion, and the shooting scenarios are chaotic and easily forgettable.
    4. Titans are no mechs. They’re more like exosuits. I love mech games and this does not feel right. It’s cool, but it lacks the feeling of being in a powerful machine with amazing defense and slightly less mobility. The CoD Killstreak rewards seem much more powerful to me.

Now the good things about this game:
    1. It’s solid. The framerate seems perfect, visuals are never below technically great (even if on the boring side most of the campaign). When it works it can be spectacular.
    2. Titan entering animation is fantastic.
    3. Some story elements are interesting but they are very rare (like the time travel mechanic).
    4. Gameplay is just like any other Call of Duty game so if you like that, it’s great for you.
    5. Story is a bit less stupid than usually but the storytelling itself is **** It goes like this: “Go here. Oh! We barely made it! Yaaaay!!! Now let’s do this again and again and, OH! Wait! Let’s do another poorly disguised fetch quest cause we’re here anyway. OK guys, this is really the last one, you guys! HA! just kidding. OK now we’re really done. You did it! Great job”.

    Disclaimer:
    1. Any game that has a single player campaign can be judged by it. 70 Euros is a lot of money so I feel entitled to feel disappointment when what I receive isn’t exceptional. Excuses like “oh it’s a multiplayer game” are the reason we are getting ****ty campaigns like this one (or worse) so often these days.
    2. The review is not very in-depth, because I don’t like this game enough to waste more time on it.

The campaign tells an interesting and meaningful story in a compressed amount of time, which is perfect for most FPS players. The multiplayer is tons of fun, and as you become more familiar with the maps you get a sense of the wallrunning and mobility lanes that you can use to creatively come at your opponents from unpredictable angles.

The gunplay feels solid, the class based Titans give interesting choices and create dynamic fights between titan classes as they have strengths you want to avoid and weaknesses you want to exploit, for example Tone is great against Ronin at range because of it's 40mm autocannon and rocket salvos, and Ronins weapons and core ability are all short-medium range, if the Tone pilot allows Ronin to close the gap, Ronin can output a ton of damage in a short amount of time.

The sendoff of burn cards in favor of boosts is a welcome change, although some boosts seem very strong and some boosts seem very weak. I can see boosts as being a thing that are banned from competitive play because essentially when every player is taking the same boost, it would be the same as no players having boosts, but with more "unfun" moments when a titan instakills you with SMGs using amped weapons.

Overall, Titanfall 2 is a complete package, all DLC, maps and weapons are coming free, the single player, while short, is meaningful and has fun sequences as you and BT fight against all odds. The multiplayer is a blast, and feels like a mixture of Tribes and Mechassault, it's both fast and the gunplay feels tight.

I'm an FPS doofus, but I'm always competitive at this parrticular game. I attribute that to the controls fitting me like a glove. I'll let the rest of you debate the subtle ins and outs. Some maps are a tad on the big side, but they cater well to all forms of engagement with builidings and tighter areas in the middle of the map. I've been running mostly smg classes and they work splendidly.

There is a lot of customization unlike in TF1 with perks, boosts, attachments, camos, player cards etc. More guns would be nice, as there are currently only around 20 for pilots, but maybe they'll be added in later in addition to the free maps and dlc that's coming.

The movement system is smooth and allows you to move faster by chaining slides and wallruns together. BO3 feels clunky in comparison. On top of choosing a number from 1 to 8 for your sensitivity, there are several different response curves you can choose from to tailor your aim and turning abilities.

Overall it's a solid game and is super fun to play. I've been looking for a fast, fluid, and fun shooter. Titanfall 2 looks like it's gonna be it!

This game is fantastic. I'm only writing this review because for whatever reason EA decided to launch this gem in between their own Battlefield 1 (also great) and Call of Duty and I would hate for Titanfall to get overlooked by someone who doesn't have the time, or money to buy three shooters this Fall. It is well worth your attention.

A little background on me: I am a huge FPS fan, and have put hundreds of hours into games like Call of Duty, Battlefield, CSGO, and many more. I did not like the first Titanfall, and My expectations were low with this game, especially for the single-player.

This game blows anything from the past while straight out of the water. The campaign is fun as hell and trying not to spoil anything, BT can be very comical in his perception of the world around him. Multi-player is fresh and new; something that Call of Duty has tried to do for the past three years, and failed. They definitely listened to the criticisms of the first game, of which the were many. The main GM is Attrition, basically TDM. It's fast paced, balls to the walls action. to quotes Rags, "A still pilot is often a dead pilot, and that's something I enjoy. It can be a little overwhelming, but these complaints pale in comparison to the positives.

This game has been completely underappreciated by a market of FPS fans who claim to want innovation and fresh game play, but continue to buy Call of Duty every year. This game was screwed over by EA and it really should have came out in early 2017, when people are looking for a new shooter to blow off the steam of Call of Duty and Battlefield.

My complaints are minor, and most of them are my fault or can be solved by me. First the game will not start on true dual core CPUs. I had to install a separate program to fix this. I know the minimum specs recommend a quad core, but my Pentium G3258 is handling the game just fine, usually between 60-80 FPS in multi-player. This game literally runs better than CSGO on my computer. Second, I am getting a weird crunching sound out of my microphones which makes the game impossible to hear and unplayable if your trying to listen, this doesn't affect me too much as I usually listen to podcasts while playing games. Lastly, I don't know what is causing this but, every other game or so in the lobby I am kicked from multi-player and sent back to the main menu. It's no big deal as all I have to do is rejoin multi-player, which is surprisingly quick.

Overall a bad-ass game, and totally worth your time and money.

Single Player is refreshing, instead of fire fight and cut-scene rinse and repeat ethos of most FPS campaigns these days. It brings in platforming and interesting mechanics that you will find missing elsewhere. Obviously if this is not your bag, you may not enjoy quite as much. In that case, bore off to BF1 and COD:IW.

I was unfortunate to not to play Titanfall 1 to see how much progress has been made, being a PS4 only owner. However, from my understanding the multiplayer was great but had a short lifespan due to basic progression and not a lot of variety in load outs.

Well it is safe to say, these criticisms have been squashed with the huge variety and depth in the progression model this time round.

Such a shame the release date was when it was. As two absolute juggernauts of gaming franchises (in regards to commercial success) probably mean this won't be appreciated by as many as it should.

Only criticism is I think it is begging for Competitive / E-Sports mode, I hope this is planned some day.

Easily the best FPS this window, and probably of the year.

The real pioneers of Modern Warfare shine brightest.

Hear this: Titanfall 2 was the best release of 2016. Titanfall 2 got both a solid campaign with a story worth playing through, with some of the most awesome environments or levels I've ever played, with a truly memorable partner. The online experience is a fast-paced experience with perfect controls and the added dimension of mech-play. The level of control customisation is really impressive for a console-shooter, and the game feels absolutely fantastic to play, both online and campaign-wise. It's some of the best online action I've ever played, including early Quake-memories, epic Battlefield-moments and great game-evenings with the clan in Destiny's Crucible.

Titanfall 2 is a sad, sad story of how so many players never even gave it a chance. Because it's simply that good. You're obligated to pick up and experience Titanfall 2 in its glory, if you're into shooters. This is the best shooter around now.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is fantastic. It has incredibly fun gameplay in both single and multiplayer. The game is fun, fluid, and a downright blast to play. Gameplay aside, it does fall short a bit on story. The main plot is pretty cliche and Cooper is a bit of a Mary Sue but that doesn't take away from the experience, and the characters are funny which takes your mind of the story. The variety of different titans you can use brings a fresh twist to the fps genre and adds a whole new dynamic to multiplayer matches, as well as the campaign. The level design is another thing i should mention. Every level is designed with your abilities and your titan's abilities in mind, and that makes every level feel right. One level I need to highlight is effect and cause, a level that's concept is so clever that I'm not sure why a full AAA game hasn't been made out of it. This level sees you jumping between two points in time as your work your way through an abandoned facility, only in one time it's not abandoned. You might need to change times to get through a blocked off door, or to avoid certain enemies, or to avoid death by fire. All this combined with the excellent platforming and shooting in the level and this makes it the best level I've played in a game by far. Overall, this game's campaign is fun and enjoyable with some excellent gameplay in it, and the multiplayer is fast paced and action packed, even if it takes a while to find games. Expand

Titanfall 2's AI is intelligent and while playing with grunts on private match they will lock down areas, suppress fire and advanced on enemy positions it feels like a war instead of when in other games AI will just move wherever until they kill something or end up being killed, The AI feel like soldiers and not robots (pun-intended) but enough talking about single-player the multiplayer is where the game really feels it's best. The fast past chaotic multiplayer is fantastic, the added executions for both pilot and titan are also welcome. The cinematic are nice because they set the mood for the stage or show off awesome attacks. Titanfall 2 is a different type of game from the little details such as the way the gun is held without ammo or the way a pilot enters the titan it is one of the best fps games released in recent years and deserves to profit. It feels as if the game was made for the current generation systems because graphics shine beautifully and no frame rate drops occur. Titanfall 2 also dives deeper into it's lore and tries to explain things. My only gripe with this product is sometimes I will experience frequent lag but this is an internet issue or server issue and not a game issue. The free DLC's and balancing of the game makes it a blast to play. I must edit this review because I have experienced constant problems with the servers. Titanfall 2 has lots of servers of many owners even some of famous gaming companies like IGN but it feels like EA just gave up, lag is a common annoyance when diving into multiplayer. Expand

This game is fast, fantastically fun, and feels great to play. The mobility is spot on, the story is actually good, and the multiplayer is the kind of rambunctious action chaos that feels great to be a part of. Sliding around, jumping off of buildings, running on walls and shooting people, and calling in your titan to really f*ck sh*t up. And when your titan gets destroyed, you can eject out, get out your grenade launcher, and let fly at the enemy titan that just destroyed you. Or, land on top of it, steal one of it's batteries, and put it in one of your ally's titans. The game seamlessly transitions between jetpacking around the map shooting guys and throwing grenades to stomping around in a huge robot decimating enemy pilots. And when the action gets to titan-on-titan, get ready for some pulse-pounding action. Even past that, the game still has a great deal of customization and plenty of modes for your playing pleasure. My only gripes are some of the limits in pilot customization where your special ability (L1) determines how you look, and the length of the singe-player campaign. Regardless, this is a fantastic game that I love. Expand

The story takes the world-building of games like Half-Life 2 and tries to mix with mech combat that can feel cool at times to do. Unfortunately, the main character is completely forgettable and generic and while I appreciate the mech having a voice and offering some banter, he just doesn't sell me his entire idea. He's no DOG from HL2, but to be fair he can be a battle station for you to pilot. The bosses are just different types of Titans that serve as tutorials for the multiplayer and I'm not convinced they are clever or interesting. The world building is good and all, but where is the Ravenholms? Where is the long runs down empty highways and tunnels that offer more than just (admittedly) fun platforming that gauges exploration and rewards the player? I see alot of potential in Titanfall 2's story, but it needs more to make a stronger statement to me.

The multiplayer is equally good but troubling. The good parts is the combat and fluidity of movement is really awesome, allowing you to take down pilot and titan alike in a range of versatility. The inclusion of free dlc and class setup is a nice touch, but my problems lie also in the fact the game modes are lacking and because of the way the game was sold at launch, the servers are essentially dead and laid bare. Finding a game is difficult and I feel that it doesn't deserve this because it is a good game that deserves better.

Seriously do yourself a favour and please buy this game you will not regret it, if possible get it on PC, unless you don't suck with a controller like I do lol.

The Single Player is really really good I'm still in disbelief on how good it was, thanks for the awesome community from Reddit/r/titanfall they actually convinced me in getting this game.

I was afraid that the multiplayer population was going to be non-existent because of BF1(Ea seriously should have release the game a few months later....) and Infinite Warfare but now that COD is terrible and the Multiplayer is Pay to win.

The Online base as increased like crazy and it's only getting better, in PC, it's now 3 times what it was from Last week.

Respawn just want to say Big thank you for such an awesome game!

However the only aspect that i seem to enjoy are the titans, and wow have they improved them. There are many variants with their own set of skills displaying pros and cons when using them. The only thing that hinders this experience is the very generic infantry combat you'd expect from an arcade shooter.

If you are a fan of call of duty i highly recommend this game, in fact don't bother getting infinite warfare and get this instead. However, if you are the kind of guy who isn't a spastic retard with a low attention span of a 12 year old...get bf1 instead and play some conquest with your friends, or use the lfs (looking for squad) feature to find like-minded people who want to work as a team.

here is everything good about the game:
+ this game is unique in it's game play in every single point whether it be the fast movement of the pilots + or the sheer size and strength of the titans
+ not a single micro transaction in sight in and or loot box for weapons, upgrades or even skins
+ everything is just a no **** policy when it comes to monetizing the game, you want a skin? then pay + for it with money or buy it by playing the game and earn credits.
+ the story is cliche' but very impactful on the player ( why did you sacrifice yourself BT ;_;)
+ the map design and game modes are well thought out at the very least and invoke a feeling of joy from + discovering a new way to traverse the maps.
+ each pilot design and titan are designed in a way to make you powerful at certain aspects but have + weaknesses in other
it has an insanely high skill ceiling but is fairly welcoming to new players
    the cons:
some extremely minor stuttering on windows 10
    some weapons are somewhat imbalanced

honestly this game is so fun and i can see this game having an extremely good Esports scene and i am shocked it hasn't gotten it.

Respawn negated the players ability to customize the Titan chassis and its weaponry and the players avatar is linked to his special ability. while there are minor improvements, It's still difficult to determine who is the enemy versus who is on your team in the various multiplayer modes

    Feeling a bit dated
Titanfall 2 is the debut of this series to PlayStation and with this debut comes with an added 6 hour campaign…
And this campaign is far greater than I had any hopes of it being in some cases, while in others really letting me down...
Starting with the good, the gameplay and story here does an awesome job of pulling you towards the credits..
Very early on you become the pilot of a titan named BT and as you play through the story you slowly create a bond with this machine that quickly feels like a living breathing creature…
The banter between you as the pilot and your titan during dialog choices was a highlight for me and had me cracking up as he’s trying to understand human emotion, or comprehend expressions taking them literally…
The campaign has you switching back and forth between being on foot and being in your titan,
And both are so fun and feel so great, but there’s far more focus on being a grounded foot soldier than a titan pilot in this campaign…
Luckily, being on ground can be just as fun as piloting your titan.. wall running and shooting through enemies is a blast, and there are so many cool moments in the campaign that are genuine surprises, and really cool twists the gameplay, there is a decent mix of intrigue, first person shooter, and platforming elements here… Mech fighting is even more fun, and as you progress through the story you unlock new loadouts for your titan all with their own shields, rockets, blasters, and core attacks, so you’re guaranteed to find at least 1 you love that fits your playstyle...
Titan combat can feel much more frustrating though as you don’t have the luxury of health regenerating like you do while on foot..
You have to collect batteries around the combat area or from enemy titans... Which can lead to some pretty frustrating boss battles... but none that ever feel unfair…
Just take much more patience than the first person shooter, platforming sections of the game...
    Now onto the bad..
Gameplay is definitely king, but its 2016 and while Titanfall 2 is fun enough to be ultimately forgiven… it’s nowhere near ambitious enough to look or run the way it does…
I’m not one to usually talk about graphics, but the textures in this game are noticeably awful…
The game really looks bad, its ugly throughout and isn’t helped by the constant dull grey color pallet I thought we got past in 2010, clearly not.. Its back and honestly does take the enjoyment out of the overall experience…
It hardly lives up to the standard of FPS graphics of 5 years ago let alone today...
I want to stop in a game, look around and be awed,
here I stopped, looked around and wondered why this ps4 game looks like a mid-cycle ps3 game… which brings me to the loads…
I can’t remember the last time I saw a load screen between checkpoints in a modern game….
    Well they’re here…. And again I really don’t understand why…
The game isn’t pushing the limits on anything to warrant anything but seamless transitions
I also ran into a game breaking bug in one of the final missions where a team mate fell through the map, and wouldn’t come back even after reloading the checkpoint, causing me to have to restart the chapter from the very beginning to proceed…
Thankfully this wasn’t too annoying and is the only bug I ran into…
And while multiplayer returns, this is my first time experiencing it, and honestly I wasn’t all too blown away…
I had fun, but running around and getting kills to call in my titan around some basic and ugly grey maps wasn’t all too exciting…
There are really no game modes here to make you think outside of the box and strategize like any great multiplayer would…
Its either get kills and bank.. Every mech or pilot for themselves... pilot vs pilot, titan vs titan and the typical capture and hold or capture the flag modes but with tanks..
Though I did personally enjoy titan vs titan the most, as I feel it comes closest to being anything but mindless…
Everything about multiplayer though for the most part feels average, and the battles between the titans isn’t as epic as you would expect and it isn’t as terrifying as you’d expect seeing 1 as just a pilot…
All in all Titanfall 2 is still a fun game, but the overall package is just average…
Lacking a bit of polish and feeling like its already 5 years old...
The star of the show here is hands down the single player and the greatly realized bond between man and titan.
    I give titanfall 2
    a 7.5/10

Worthless tacked on campaign, it's boring, lifeless and incredibly repetitive. Multiplayer is painfully similar to Call of Duty Advanced Warfare, they've even made mechs far weaker and the pilots movement slower and more clunky meaning it feels far more like CoD than the first game did.

Short Storyline gameplay. It was fun but not worth $40; let along $90. If you're not hacking, you are fighting hackers everywhere in Multiplayer. The rate at which people hit you in the head and you can clearly see them firing from the hip. One player actually headshot me while sliding down a ramp shooting from his hip. The maps are uninspired and convoluted they geared the game for players with weak hand eye coordination. They destroyed some of the best and most fun interfacing with the titans. Pilots are too weak and you die to easily, so are the titans. They made the NPC's super lethal!!!! They force you to choose titan classes and they have embedded attributes that cannot change. They for some reason got rid of the rodeo and replaced it with a disappointing experience snatching batteries and dropping grenades. Why would they get rid of titan shields? Also now when your doomed you don't have a timer going off giving players the appearance of a second wind when in reality a titan can execute you immediately or anti titan weapons will immediately kill you. You can now shoot from cloaking and immediately return to cloak as long as timer doesn't run out. Which only means they are catering to new players. They got rid of tertiary weapons!!!!! Which means you have to choose between either carrying a secondary weapon or a anti titan weapon!!!!!! What the hell!!!! Choosing between a secondary weapon and anti titan weapon is like asking which leg do I use the least! Sticking to walls is now a ability that needs to be unlocked, absolutely ruining the parkour experience! Ammo and grenades are infinite which remove the tactical criticality of having limited resources!!!!! They brought back the cursed smart pistol what the f@&$$! They made the XO9 titan machine gun less accurate! Some pilot classes look outright stupid. Yes they gave a campaign with cool features no spoilers, but they gutted the heart and soil from the original. I was platinum 3 once upon a time. In conclusion I like to liken this sequel to a basketball analogy: you ever play a game and there is a guy who gets the ball and just does too much with it and when it's time to score he chokes. Well that is TF2. I wanted to like it, I was predisposed to like it and I just can't it's an alien game. The developers catered too much to the noobs!!!! The graphics are the same or worse than TF. It takes to long to recover from damage. All they needed to do was give us TF experience back more maps, weapons, and a storyline and it would of been out the park!!! Instead they delivered a stillborn. No way does the remaining TF community will be satisfied with this offspring!. Expand

Long after release, my brother picked up the game at a cheaper price, and I can tell you I had a rip-roaring great time with this one.
"Titanfall 2," above anything else, is just plain fun: it's frantic, it's fast-paced, it's exciting, and it controls fantastically. And while I wasn't sure what I'd think about the Titan sections, I have to say that Respawn did a really great job keeping the Titans from feeling extremely overpowered. On top of that, the game is visually solid and wonderfully designed, and it manages to be one of the few games that has strong multiplayer while not leaving the single-player in the dust. The campaign is extremely enjoyable, the levels are fleshed-out and well-designed, and while the story may be pretty familiar, I really like the emotional connection between Jack Cooper and his Titan, BT-7274, throughout the story. Their chemistry throughout the story really kept it afloat, and the fast-paced gameplay kept things interesting throughout.
If there's one tiny criticism I have about the game, it's that the campaign is definitely on the short side. Despite having plenty of room for exploration here, it won't take you a very long time to complete it.
Even so, "Titanfall 2" is a brilliant game that you should definitely check out. If you're down for fast and fun shooters with interesting mechanics and wonderful design, you will absolutely love this game.
Final rating: 10 out of 10 "Fantastic"

And also the fun will last longer than in easy difficulty, I´d say about 6-8 hours, unless you really rush it (or maybe you are just awesome at games).

And hey, NO LOOTBOXES, and no shennanigans. You pay for what you get, and you get what you pay for: and honest well crafted product thought for the players. So rare these days!

Buy this game, you will not be dissappointed. And you will help teaching EA a lesson: THIS is the kind of quality product we gamers want and deserve!

I bought Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Titanfall 2 and Battlefield One at the same time. A few days later, Titanfall 2 was the only one I felt like playing.

Multiplayer feels fresh, the titans are fun, and there's a lot of odd weapons/combinations like the SMR (full-auto micro missile launcher.)

For all the fun I'd give the game a 7.5, it suffers from a lot of the other issues that modern FPS do.

    - Players make very little sound, so do titans. It's absolutely ludicrous that you'll randomly get punched in the back and instantly killed by a Scorch without it making a sound.

    - Weapon balance overall is pretty poor. For all the fun and different weapons, there's pretty clearly 3 or 4 go-to primary weapons, and only 2 of the secondary weapons are worth using at all. Sniper rifles and pistols are effectively useless because of player speed, and speed of death. Why use a sniper rifle when an assault rifle kills just as fast or faster, and the G2 has crazy range? Why use a pistol at all when you need an anti-Titan weapon and you never run out of primary ammo? Only 1 or 2 of the maps are big enough for a sniper rifle anyway. Often pilot vs pilot feels more like an RNG (Flatline vs Flatline) or rock-paper-scissors (being caught out with a rifle vs an SMG or vice-versa).

    - The AI is pretty bad, you'll have these scenarios like in Bounty Hunt where the AI is insanely omnipotent and will chase you across the map and dash and punch you. I've had an Ion Titan being shot by 2 friendly titans and 2 friendly pilots single me out and kill me from 500+ feet away with a shoulder laser. The Kill Cam didn't even show it fully turn around.

    - Finally interp lag and data loss is massive problem, especially given how fast players move, and how quickly you die. 2/3s of my deaths seem to be me being shot through walls, or where the Kill Cam doesn't really match what I saw. I've had dozens of scenarios where the player OR TITAN is facing the opposite direction/dashing/reloading when I die, and the Kill Cam show something completely different. Although often the Kill Cam shows them shooting through the walls or doing something impossible, too. This is one of the main reasons I quit playing CoD.

I've had SO SO many duels and fights where my last shot that would have been a killing blow and it make the sound and visual of impact just for it to do zero damage. I've had fights where 8+ shots make the impact sound/visual, but do zero damage just to die afterwards. This is especially frustrating with weapons like the G2, SMR, Mastiff and Wingman. Weapons with travel time are practically unuseable.

In summation, the game is fun, but I really wish they'd fix some of these fundamental FPS issues. I was having a great time, but it was slowly drained away and just became frustrating. The better I got and the more I played the more noticeable these issues became.

I don't normally write reviews, but I must say that Titanfall 2 is hands down Game of the Year for me. Playing Destiny now which runs at 30fps is now a chore. Single player experience was unique and really enjoyable. It introduced a few items that was never done before. But my bread and butter is the multiplayer, actions is intense and just really really FUN! Thank you Respawn for making this game and giving us free map expansions (Angel City). It separats yourself from the usual nickel and diming practice of the industry. I really hope for a Titanfall 3 down the road. Expand

Well, aside of my now all time favourite game Witcher 3 and its add-ons, this is definitely the best game I've played in 2016 and I gues it will stay in top 10 for this generation.

I haven't played the multiplayer so cant comment. The single player campaign, however, I give a reluctant 7 out of 10 and here's why:
It has very smooth game mechanics that are easy to master, perhaps too easy - guns seem to hit targets with ease (aim isn't realistic), the game recommended 'regular' mode, but it was so easy I quickly moved to hard mode and it was way way too easy too.

Weird. There is fantastic customisation options to calibrate your movement and initial settings to your play style which helped me get it 'just right' for my movement style, that was a very welcome bonus. Though not being able to properly customise buttons should be stock standard these days no? why not?
Game design is strong and original - mechs look fun and feel heavy, guns look fun and sound great, are varied enough (though they all feel like they do fairly equal damage) soldiers look sci fi and well stocked. Environments are ok, not particularly original or interesting. Sometimes the visuals were great where you could stare out to the sky and see meteor like scene of battle in the background. Other times environments were very 'meh', anything with offices in them are just so tired.
Level design is a combination of well put together and awkward. Sometimes they got interesting ways of getting you from a to b, but also places felt to me sparse and boxed in, not enough enemies, convoluted and unrealistic corridors, but at other times it feels intuitive, fast and fun to feel like you're traversing distances that seem far but you'll eventually reach. There is a lot of creativity in level design choices, it just doesn't seem to pull it off as well as it could, especially as there isn't much options on how to proceed, just follow the enemies to the end of the level.... I'll get to the story but if it has more brains or creativity in it then the level design and execution would be a lot more varied and interesting..
Sound is really top notch with guns, mech sounds... music was fairly typical military grandness but well done and not ridiculously obvious like some other games.. voice acting is terrible at times. There were some characters that were so laughably painful to listen to (Viper and Richter in particular, but even guy who trains you at the start had the most confusing Aussie/Irish/who knows accent. Terrible.). Cliches I had hoped would never return, returned in spades. Women who are funky and cool and dangerous.. so boring and predictable in today's fashion...And this brings me to story - where I am sick and tired of silly storylines that I've played for the past 25 years, always glorifying military and how special my character is, always making me seem big and powerful yet I didn't really earn it. Always the bad guys are bad and stupid, they have no feeling, they have typical accents (South African/Zimbabwian, again?!) mercenary theme is so popular right now its such a cringe to expect to hear it and have my fears confirmed, as though all market research insists to stick with the mercenary/money hungry and give them the exotic mercenary cliche - where is the creativity and vision to flesh out better enemies with more convincing needs?? So the story is a DIVE of cliches and military greatness, hi fives and thumbs up and commanders getting angry with me and privates saying how great they'll finally get to kick ass. Total loss of immersion in the game because of it. Thats my personal experience and it may be different to yours but its undeniable how obvious the plotline is in both being able to predict what kind of things will happen and how you'll be getting out of them.
Campaign was also too short - It started with the grand buildup of introducing mechanics and the world which is great to get a feel for the world but by the time I felt I really could enjoy the variety in guns and putting them to use, the game descended into a mess of rushed and inconsequentially easy and idiotic decisions, pacing lost everything and became thoughtless mayhem.
Final gripe: Constantly getting showered with new upgrades for mechs, so I cant really flesh out my existing ones without feeling I should be 'moving on' to new ones, constantly having too ammo for guns that breaks a need to strategise or ration ammo (loses immersion again).
I will say one real positive in this game is the load times - always quick, always smart about where you died and need to respawn. Very very good and kept me going with ease.

To sum. the game is fantastic for what it can do (Call of Duty style gameplay) and could do (imagining where the mechs could be fighting and why), but it falls so short on its story and script and voice acting so much so that I lost all immersion by halfway through the short campaign. And did I say that you cant skip those tired and painfully bad scenes? lucky there weren't many. It reduces the overall score to a 7 because those things deny me wanting to play it again, deny it from being an epic and I reserve higher scores for epics.

Far from the footnote it could have been, Titanfall 2 is a huge, headline shock. In a standout year for the shooter, this interstellar adventure dares to go big and beyond the familiar. What it finds out on the frontier is worth seeing. [January 2016, p74]
