The more kills you gain, the more devastating the move. Combine slowdown and moves into a wall busting chain of destruction. You are the hero of a rebel organization fighting against Mr Time, a mad scientist dictator in possession of a time based weapon of mass destruction. The Time Machine at the rebel base will take you to the past via a wormhole. Mission goals range from assassination to rescuing scientists.     Time Recoil isn't going to redefine the cyberpunk genre, win awards for its writing or make players philosophize on the ethics of time travel. It’s a satisfying blitz that wants to chill you out and challenge you, and that's enough.

    Time Recoil plays like a toned-down Hotline Miami that strips away the stealth focus and ramps up the twin-stick shooting. Poor enemy AI makes some scenarios a bit unbelievable but the core gameplay and time mechanics keep it enjoyable from start to finish.

    Time Recoil takes advantage of a good bullet-time mechanic and some very clever level design but is bogged down by a messy story and a lack of variation. Strategic shoot 'em up fans may enjoy mastering the game but fans of more dynamic action will be left wanting.

    Many aspects of Time Recoil show potential, but the only part that is actualized is its gameplay. The typically confusing time-travel plot impedes enjoyment as does the randomness in levels, which nearly diminishes that stellar gameplay.

    This is my favorite 10tons twin stick shooter. They finally developed some style above generic. The story is kinda of incomprehensible butThis is my favorite 10tons twin stick shooter. They finally developed some style above generic. The story is kinda of incomprehensible but it is still fun. Shooting and dashing through walls is what makes this game a super fun blast. Levels can be repetitive but it is great in short bursts. Runs almost perfect on Vita with rare slow downs. Get this game.… Expand
