Finished everything in the DLC. This game is a masterpiece but the expansion pack is also the best I have ever played in my 20 years of gaming. As for the expansion for $20 you get a full game, it has everything. Beautiful new music, exceptionally written dialog and the story is intense. A long time character from the books returns and he is stellar. I love this game. Get it now, buy it, support cdpr.

At the end of the game they give a thank you note to the gamers, that also deserves a shed tear. They are like developers in the 90s that actually cared to create art and cared about their fan base. This expansion is GOTY.

400+ hours into Witcher 3. It's sad to think there's no more expansions and probably no more Witcher games...it's a game that made me go astray from my usual gaming patterns 1. I don't usually go back and boot up a game I already beat twice for its DLC/Expansions. 2. I don't usually have patience for open world, Elder Scroll-esque games.

Blood and Wine is probably the most impressive DLC I have ever seen. 40~50 hours of content, whole new map, exciting quests and new gameplay mechanics, and the most beautiful landscape/scenery. If you like vampires, wine, knights and fairy tales...you will enjoy every second of this adventure like I did.

Thank you CDProjekt Red for being so dedicated to your work, almost every ? on the map serves as a reminder for how detail oriented you guys are.

Set after the events of the main game, it takes us to a sunny county of Toussaint where people are oblivious to the just concluded war and would rather sing, drink wine and praise chivalric virtues left, right and centre. Not only is the setting different, the features we already know are expanded upon - every point of interest on the map now has some kind of story behind it or a reward to collect about it. Side quests are both plentiful and varied and will deliver numerous hours of laughs, whichery investigations, and gritty fights for survival. There are several new kind of monsters not seen anywhere else and this is what this expansion is all about - Geralt's last, biggest monster hunt.

The main story is superb, and should be played twice for maximum enjoyment. The characters are fantastic both in writing and voice acting, and the beast we are hired to dispose of is a tragic story unto itself. The truth is: words can't really express the magnitude of the experience you are about to have when embarking on this epic journey. Must buy for any fan of the franchise, especially considering the fact that it's likely our last adventure with Geralt of Rivia.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I have no idea why this is rated so low, less than 10 seems extremely picky but below 9 is inconceivable. This expansion is fantastic and it even gives the original game a run for its money. It is without exaggeration that this game could be a legitimate sequel. The fact that CPR released it as an expansion at the price point they did speaks volumes for their character and it's an approach that should be emulated by everyone in the industry. They indirectly expose AAA developers for the jokes that they are.

Blood and Wine has some of the most beautiful landscapes I have ever seen in a video game and Beauclair is absolutely stunning. The climatic contrast of Toussaint to Velen and Skellige really adds a dimension of depth to the world that makes it feel like a real planet. I think the following is common knowledge but to err on the side of caution, I'll tag this review for spoilers. We see the introduction of things that seem like they should have been in the original game, like armor dyes, mutagen conversions, and a Skellige gwent deck. You have a wide variety of new monsters, and the cutscenes and animations are improved upon from the original game. The main story itself is compelling from the very beginning and I must say the nod to Se7en is thoroughly appreciated.

Blood and wine DLC is pretty much it's own game, so much so it's actually release like that and some people consider it that due to the graphical upgrade and the huge new map. The story is once again amazing but probably my least favorite of the three but still very good. Game looks amazing and better than before too. Just get it. It's amazing like everything else in this series.

I wouldn't even call it a DLC, because I spent over 50 hours playing through all the content which is massive and more than many regular games can offer for a full price. While Hearts of Stone focused on the main story, but the sauce around it wasn't anything special, this is just the opposite. Blood and Wine still has a good main story, but the main draw of this DLC imo is everything else, beautiful location, exploring, all the side quests and activities you can do, having your own house, legendary new items, new mutation tree, once again amazing soundtrack... after quite a long break since the last time I played TW3 I didn't really want to go back, but this world and characters absorbed me once again and I don't want to leave now, which is the best thing the game can give you. Overall, when I look at retrospectively, The Witcher 3, with all the upgrades and improvements over the last year, plus 2 absolutely amazing DLC's has become one of the best games, not just in the RPG genre, but overall and in time it will be ranked among the legends. 10/10 Expand

I've only put in around 10 hours in the DLC and can already say this is another 10 out of 10 game. Witcher 3 is a phenomenal game and the first DLC complemented the main game beautifully. Blood and wine is now doing the same, adding a massive new, beautiful map. Interesting characters, story and places to explore.

    - many references to Geralt origins as a witcher and his first adventures.
    - finally stand alone quest with knight tournament! Even though it's kinda easy, I'm really enjoyed this quest
    - as usual 10/10 main plot line with LOTS of adventures/noble intrigues/hunts/boss fights
    - seems like 80% of Toussent monsters in this one are completely new and were made for this DLC exclusively
    - new 5 witcher armor sets to craft (also, they added a painting option which is neat, but why only for witcher sets?..)
    - Skellige deck. Oh god, this is just a fresh breath of air for gwent maniacs like me. Thanks for the person who designed this one. Definitely my second favorite deck after NR from now on. It's not as powerful as NR since Skellige deck doesn't have any spies in it, but if you manage to collect them all and get heroic cards it'll become a decent deck. Winning with it to Nilfs or NR is pretty satisfying once you get used to it! (for real, guys, you should release stand alone gwent game)
    - sweet manor to upgrade with lot of details, like usual + your own butler with some gwent opponent option
    - 3 bandit forts to clean up (Butcher from Blaviken returns!)

I'm not a big fan of Witcher 1-2, but 3 is just made me one. And B&W is a best way to finish a game.
    Nice work, guys! GOTY #2

    Dear Witcher 3 Haters…

    You. Yes, you!
The one screaming, "This is a movie, not a game!" and "They downgraded the graphics!" and other slurs I dare not mention.

    Tread lightly.

You are one. We are hundreds, thousands. Millions. You aren't just IN the minority; you ARE the minority.

I don't feel awkward or anxious playing Witcher 3 around others, and your words don't affect me. Many others, however, are coming out of their shells for the first time in their lives. This is the first time many are enjoying the beautiful world that has been created for us - and it IS beautiful. Incredibly so. DON'T ruin this for them.

We Witcher 3 fans may have our differences, but we will not hesitate to come to the aid of our fellow witchers, especially against someone who so virulently slurs that which has brought us all together.
Don't take this the wrong way. I don't hate you. I don't fear you.

    I pity you.

I'm sorry that you feel this way towards us. I'm sorry that Witcher 3 is such a bane to your existence. And I'm sorry that you are missing out on such a wonderful experience. Mostly, though, I'm sorry that you feel the need to go around and publicly chastise and berate others. I'm sorry that, to ensure your own validity, you need to make others feel invalid. I'm sorry that your self-worth is so infinitesimally miniscule that you have to make others feel less-than-human, at least in your own denatured mind, just to feel whole. I am truly sorry that day-in and day-out you have to put up with your worthless, meaningless, Shakespearean tragedy of a life.
I ask you politely to cease your unnecessary cries for attention, and instead invite you to join our ranks. Uninstall Call of Duty, start up Witcher 3, and breathe in the splendour and the amazement of the realistic graphics, and then, maybe, just maybe, you'll see what you've been so hopelessly searching for this whole time.

For players who just want more Witcher, there’s no doubt that Blood And Wine delivers. It has a whole new land to explore, there are tons of things to do, and there’s enough content to keep someone busy for dozens of hours. On the other hand, it felt to me like the entire Witcher experience had already peaked, so following it up with something that’s just not as good leaves things in an awkward place. The last ten minutes are absolutely worth seeing, but the hours that come before it? Maybe not so much.
