By now you surely know the gist of what telltale games are so... story and characters. There are really only two but there is no special bond that you really create with them that made Seasons 1 so great. The story, well, it's your typical goal leads to another goal that leads to another goal and then near the end people ask cliche questions like "how did we get here?" Short answer? Don't bang crazy people. The ending is still satisfying and reminiscent of season 1. Without spoiling anything the entire story revolves around how you change as a person after certain life events and the definition of "you." Are you your actions or are you your perception of yourself? Idk, but it was a good ending. Not better but still good. Expand

This game is different from most traditional games, it is a point and click game. Every choice has an outcome based on your actions; every action has a reaction. Most characters in this game are likable, and all of them are easy to relate to. Along the way, you will wish for the death of some characters, and that is exactly what the developers had in mind. The character development is phenomenal, and they are affected by your actions. The world is so dynamic you'll forget it's not real life. The characters are great, the story is great, the plot is great. The only thing that is not great is the lack of anything other than walking in-between talking scenes. Sure every once in a while there's an event in which you shoot walkers, but other than that it feels less of a game and more of a movie in which you control the outcome. And yes, this time there is more than one ending. If you don't mind playing a movie in which you control the outcome, then buy this game. If you are somebody who hates cutscenes and wants to just be able to explore on your own without having to play a linear story, you might want to skip this one. This game receives a 7/10, as it is, in my eyes, a great game. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Certainly not as good as the first one and the main reason is that most of the characters are **** for no reason and the game decides to kill off all the like able characters. Other than that pretty good with some mechanical improvements. Expand

Boring. Nothing new comparing to the first season. Many times I had to do something not logical without any choice. Big let down after the first game. Also, the whole season is basically about prison escape, not survival among zombies.

I really enjoyed Season 1 when I picked it up on sale for $10. I could not see spending $25 on Season 2 so I waited until I got it for $5. For $5 it is barely passable..what?!?!?! Yeah I know but I just did not get drawn in by the new characters. And playing as a little girl was just ok. Not fan of "game's" like this, story is fine but there is almost no actual gameplay and graphics is SO outdated. Also there so many choice options but results are almost same. Season 1 story was bit better.

I also really liked more northern locations full of pine trees forests, snow, frozen lakes etc. Really liked the mood and the main character Celemntine is also much more liekable than the main char in first season. However, all these improvements are weighed down by the story content which is much more cutted in pieces to form one season, while the individual episodes in the first season were all very strong and all of them could almost stand on their own feet, with very different stories and locations in them. Second season feels much more as a one long episode cut in 5 sections. They should also stop spoilering the new episodes at the end of each epissode, which is quite annoying. My observation from both seasons, but from this second especially, is that even though the world has gone to hell with deadly zombies all around, the biggest monsters are still humans. 6/10 Expand

Choices (bar the ending choice) dont actually matter. Having the option to save a character doesn't mean much when you know your not really saving them, your just keeping them around for a couple more scenes until they are killed off anyway. I've always found this lazy on telltales behalf.
In this game in particular i noticed a lot of dialog options which make you believe you've done something significant but in reality you haven't.

While i enjoyed it while playing, on reflection im not sure if this current format has gone me excited for any future walking dead games.

The Walking Dead Season Two never reaches the same highs as the first season did, and the valleys are a little lower, but such is the plight of a sequel to an amazing game.

For those of you not familiar with The Walking Dead Season One, or really Telltale Games games in general, The Walking Dead Season Two is an elaborate, digital choose your own adventure set in the Walking Dead universe. The story revolves around Clem, from the first game, as she tries to survive on her own.

The game's presentation is the same as the first. Hand drawn looking graphics and character models that don't quite move right. The graphics are good enough, but you're not playing the game for the graphics. The voice acting is excellent, just like the first, with every character acted out extremely well from beginning to end.

The story and choices are where the game shines. The game follows Clem from the first game as she tries to survive alongside another group of characters. Unlike the first game you're not a leader in the group as much as a small actor in it, trying to do what's best according to you during events that are out of your control. The characters are enjoyable to interact with and the story itself is interesting. While the game plays in a fairly similar manner to the first one in terms of surviving another day, the game's choices are less enjoyable. Rather than in season one where I felt like I was making choice to try to make situations better or work toward something, I felt like many of my choices in season two were trying to grasp at what was being lost and choosing what to let go and what to cling to. While it may fit with the feel of hopelessness in the Walking Dead, it loses sight of the fact that games are meant to be fun, and making the player helpless isn't fun. It went beyond challenging to stressful.

That said, the game is still engrossing. I started it early one Saturday morning when I knew I wasn't going out that day after injuring my foot and played the entire game that day finishing it up in the evening. I liked playing through it and enjoyed the story, but it just wasn't as fun as season one.

One knock that wasn't really present in season one is that in season two the game falls into lulls of not really doing anything. Whether it be doing manual labor or walking through snowy woods there were times when playing through the game that I felt as if I would fall asleep because I was doing something so mundane for so long. This is where the valleys are lower.

As with the first due to the short length and limited replayability I would recommend this game as a rent, not buy. If you want to buy I would wait for inevitable cheap, used copies to pop up.

After 2012's The Walking Dead ended up being one of the best game I've ever played, the sequel wasn't so great. First off, it feels like the story is going nowhere. Another thing is the *relentless* references to season 1, reminding us of Lee, Duck, Larry, and the other good survivors of the first game. *Stop trying to distract us from how lackluster THIS season is with dumb references to another game.* Also, all the other survivors are wooden characters with no charisma or personality, except for a small few. Overall, The Walking Dead Season 2 is a hugely disappointing game that fails to live up to, or let alone succeed it's excellent predecessor. Thanks for reading my review. Expand

The story and characters make this game worth playing. In fact, they make it good. Having said that, as far as a video game goes, it's like watching a season of a television series that makes you press play every few minutes.
