There are really only two but there is no special bond that you really create with them that made Seasons 1 so great. The story, well, it's your typical goal leads to another goal that leads to another goal and then near the end people ask cliche questions like "how did we get here?" Short answer? Don't bang crazy people. The ending is still satisfying and reminiscent of season 1. Without spoiling anything the entire story revolves around how you change as a person after certain life events and the definition of "you." Are you your actions or are you your perception of yourself? Idk, but it was a good ending. Not better but still good. Expand

This game is different from most traditional games, it is a point and click game. Every choice has an outcome based on your actions; every action has a reaction. Most characters in this game are likable, and all of them are easy to relate to. Along the way, you will wish for the death of some characters, and that is exactly what the developers had in mind. The character development is phenomenal, and they are affected by your actions. The world is so dynamic you'll forget it's not real life. The characters are great, the story is great, the plot is great. The only thing that is not great is the lack of anything other than walking in-between talking scenes. Sure every once in a while there's an event in which you shoot walkers, but other than that it feels less of a game and more of a movie in which you control the outcome. And yes, this time there is more than one ending. If you don't mind playing a movie in which you control the outcome, then buy this game. If you are somebody who hates cutscenes and wants to just be able to explore on your own without having to play a linear story, you might want to skip this one. This game receives a 7/10, as it is, in my eyes, a great game. Expand

This was a great sequel to season 1 (highly recommend you play season 1 before jumping into this).

Great to see this has been improved, the user interface looks smoother, graphics are much better than season 1, and the story was great. I was worried that they wouldn't have enough stories for a sequel to keep me interested, but i loved this season.

    Cant wait for season 3.

November has been another bad month for ps+ users. It's the two year anniversary of PS4 and this is one of the games we have been given. Not only is it an insult because it is part two, but also it's not a very engaging game.

I grew up playing clicky games a name given to point and click adventures like Broken Sword, Monkey Island, Diskworld and The Dig. These adventures were known for good storytelling, sense of humor, devilish puzzles and high quality voice acting (once introduced with the PC). They represented a golden age in gaming and were very fun and addictive.

Telltale has attempted to revise these older and better games, and for a majority of fans it has worked. But for me, it hasn't and I don't enjoy them at all. They feel way too forced as if you are just watching a badly animated movie. Occasionally a prompt flashes on screen asking you to press on what you want the character to do or say but this is an old cliche now and just induces yawning. When you do get to control a character you are literally just walking around and talking to other characters, the brain-teasing puzzles have been replaced with simple find this or talk to this person. It's all very slow paced and has little to hold an intelligent persons attention. It's kind of like point and click adventures for the lazy generation who don't want too much from there games, just the odd interaction to make it nice and easy so they can see how the story plays out. Personally I'd rather read the comics or watch the TV show!

Telltale games are more like choose your own adventure books seen published in the 80's. Apparently your actions affect the overall story, but who really cares, you'll only play this once, if you can get past the mind numbing dull first chapter!

Walking Dead two makes little sense to me as Sony didn't give us part one, for some odd reason they gave us part 2. Which has given me no desire to purchase the 1st part as the spoilers are given before starting a new game.

I found the hour or two I put into the game very boring. The character animations were crude, voice acting average and the cell shaded graphics looked very out dated. So another bitter disappointment this month. But at least Fall out 4 is out in 5 days so I can finally get back to enjoying gaming again!

So by all means download for free, but don't expect much. So again I say to Sony, please please step your game up for December! We really really would like you to do some research into what your subscribers actually want to play or put back the voting system so we have a choice. So we don't end up with another part two of a lukewarm adventure game!

There is not a lot I can say because I didn’t get very far into Episode 1. It starts out with you taking on the role of Clementine. I got to a point where I met a Dog and I made the mistake of thinking that the Dog is going to be my new friend but Telltale took it too far, too early. After I opened up food the dog changed from being a friendly dog to being an aggressive killer. The Dog attacks Clementine and then she has to kick the dog off of her. The dog goes flying, off camera and then all you hear is whimpering. At this point, I knew what was going to happen next. The dog was going to be gravely hurt and the tough decision was going to be to either kill the dog or leave it hurt and let it starve to death.

I don’t know for sure if that’s what the dilemma was going to be but I didn’t feel like finding out. I’ll make tough decisions about people, no problem but when it comes to animals and especially dogs. No, I won’t go there and it upsets me that Telltale would. It was there for shock factor and to be edgy. This is probably one of the most upsetting moments in video games for me personally.

It is a sequel to The Walking Dead: Season One and the DLC 400 Days. The game is made up of five long episodes that take about an hour to an hour and a half to complete. In this game, you play as the young girl Clementine as she moves on from the tragic end to her previous group. This game is on the Playstation and Xbox (both platforms) and is around 15-20 dollars for where you look.
The great thing about this game is how it’s set up. The premise of the game is making decisions and seeing how it affects the others around you. You can build up multiple personas, and there’s not really any that are correct. You can be distant and rude, or can be everyone’s friend. But those decisions can cause people to not trust you, and end up getting killed because of it. While there may be some decisions that might not make sense, like talking about food, most of your decisions affect the game in some way.
After choosing whether or not you kill your father-like figure Lee after he’s bitten, Clementine leaves everyone except for her two friends Christa and Omid. Clem gets jumped by a girl who ends up killing Omid trying to save Clem, and Christa and her leave after killing the girl. After being chased in the woods, Clem finally becomes alone being separated from Christa. You wander through them and find a dog. Your first big decision is whether to feed it or not. I chose to feed it, and the dog bites you and you have to kill it. You fall unconscious and two guys named Luke and Pete find you. They notice you’ve been bitten and think a walker bit you. You are brought to their group’s base and are made to sleep in a shed in case you become a walker. But as you prove not, the group starts to like you. All the characters are interesting and you talk to them all at some point, like pregnant Rebecca, young innocent Sarah, and kind Luke. There are way more characters but they come at different times. You make relationships and find villains along the way like a man named Carver who’s in search of vengeance. I can’t say much about the story though, since it’s really what you make of it.
The game itself is a masterpiece. I think it’s probably one of the first games I’ve played that made me (almost) cry. There are some really sad scenes, mainly of people dying that you liked. I really enjoy the art style to this game since it looks like a cartoon but still realistic. The soundtrack is also pretty good, not the best though. The best thing about this game though is just the story. There aren’t really any bugs in this game, which to me is really shocking. Each time I play this game, I can always try something new. But for me, the best part of the game is after proving the dog bit you, on Playstation you get a trophy saying, “STILL. NOT. BITTEN.”
In total, this game is NOT for children. The cartoony look shouldn’t fool you. The violence is very extreme at times, like having to stitch your own wound, and hearing Clem cry out in pain, or watching a dog suffer after being impaled. If you’re younger and can take the gruesome content, at least have an adult supervise you. But besides that this, in a sense billions of choices choosing game to me is perfect.

The gameplay is also there to make choices. Choices not to change the story, but mainly to change the way you view the story and how the interaction with other characters feels.
For example, there's a girl in this game that is somewhat helpless. You can either be understanding and try to comfort her or you can be cold towards her. I did both in two playthroughs. In the first I had the feeling I was helpful, I got the feeling of beeing a mentor so someone. In my second playthrough the I was cold against the girl, which in turn made me think of her as a nuassance more and more. This is how it is in real life too, the way you react to a certain situation doesn't usually change the essence of the situation, it does change the way you, and other feel about it though.
Also, the characters in season 2 are just as good. No you won't feel the same love and trust... but that's not a bad thing. I cared more about surviving then I did about the other characters. I looked at the other people suspiciously, I didn't fully trust any of them. This makes a completely different feeling from the first season. But just as good. Maybe even better because following up a strong story like that wasn't easy!

I don't understand the advantage of episodic gaming though, so I always buy telltale games when all episodes are out.

However, all these improvements are weighed down by the story content which is much more cutted in pieces to form one season, while the individual episodes in the first season were all very strong and all of them could almost stand on their own feet, with very different stories and locations in them. For those of you not familiar with The Walking Dead Season One, or really Telltale Games games in general, The Walking Dead Season Two is an elaborate, digital choose your own adventure set in the Walking Dead universe. The story revolves around Clem, from the first game, as she tries to survive on her own.

The game's presentation is the same as the first. Hand drawn looking graphics and character models that don't quite move right. The graphics are good enough, but you're not playing the game for the graphics. The voice acting is excellent, just like the first, with every character acted out extremely well from beginning to end.

The story and choices are where the game shines. The game follows Clem from the first game as she tries to survive alongside another group of characters. Unlike the first game you're not a leader in the group as much as a small actor in it, trying to do what's best according to you during events that are out of your control. The characters are enjoyable to interact with and the story itself is interesting. While the game plays in a fairly similar manner to the first one in terms of surviving another day, the game's choices are less enjoyable. Rather than in season one where I felt like I was making choice to try to make situations better or work toward something, I felt like many of my choices in season two were trying to grasp at what was being lost and choosing what to let go and what to cling to. While it may fit with the feel of hopelessness in the Walking Dead, it loses sight of the fact that games are meant to be fun, and making the player helpless isn't fun. It went beyond challenging to stressful.

That said, the game is still engrossing. I started it early one Saturday morning when I knew I wasn't going out that day after injuring my foot and played the entire game that day finishing it up in the evening. I liked playing through it and enjoyed the story, but it just wasn't as fun as season one.

One knock that wasn't really present in season one is that in season two the game falls into lulls of not really doing anything. Whether it be doing manual labor or walking through snowy woods there were times when playing through the game that I felt as if I would fall asleep because I was doing something so mundane for so long. This is where the valleys are lower.

As with the first due to the short length and limited replayability I would recommend this game as a rent, not buy. If you want to buy I would wait for inevitable cheap, used copies to pop up.

The Walking Dead S.2 it is a "must-play" game if you are a fan of the TV Series/Comic.
It keeps all the elements from the TWD world, the most of the characters are meaningful and have a lot of personality, you care about what happen to them and the decision you have to make just make you feel you are in there living the story.

Another thing is the *relentless* references to season 1, reminding us of Lee, Duck, Larry, and the other good survivors of the first game. *Stop trying to distract us from how lackluster THIS season is with dumb references to another game.* Also, all the other survivors are wooden characters with no charisma or personality, except for a small few. Overall, The Walking Dead Season 2 is a hugely disappointing game that fails to live up to, or let alone succeed it's excellent predecessor. Thanks for reading my review. Expand

The glitch needs to be patched , this game has been out for a good while now.

the choices in season 2 have little to no consequence , i have found in various choices no matter the option taken the ooutcome will be exactly the same , season 1 yyou really fealt the otions you chose through the rest of the game and had a differnt play experience due to it , not with season 2 .
I have also not found the characters you come across this time round compelling enough for you to care about them as much as you did in the previous game .

Expand

Amazing, hearth breaking and beautiful story of survival and the power of the human spirit. 10 out of 10 for me. I might be a minority but I feel that the second season is better than the first one. For once the graphics still hold their own in 2016. The story for me is also deeper with the characters feeling more alive and important.

It is interesting to explore new locations, to learn something new about the laura of the universe. Basically, the second season is not too bad, but it does not reach the first. The ending is strange, stupidly for the sake of approaching the third season and nothing more. Do not expect such emotions as with the first season, although there is a moment where Clem can go alone with the baby against the herd of Walkers, this is epic.

Valkin Grandfather continues to amaze with his story, characters, music, interaction with the environment and of course the very interaction between the characters. Clementine is an example. There are stupid situations where characters see themselves as idiots (besides Clementine, again, she is perfect) especially Carlos’s daughter - Sarah, I damn kill her at the first opportunity, when I had to choose: either save Jane or quit both of them. Sarah infuriated me, at first I treated her for good, she didn’t cut this chip, so I started treating her like **** for hell, we have the apocalypse here, people are dying, Satan is a horror, and she is aching. It is aching and aching and aching and aching. Infuriates. But I digress, continue. The developers are known for their elaboration of characters in games and it is amazing (Wolf Among Us, went out of my head), I repeat I have never seen such lively personalities anywhere else.

Again, the guys from TellTale created this wonderful brainchild, they also created a new Batman, soon the second season ends, they also created the Wolf Among Us, Tales in Bordelands and so on and all The Walking Dead. Many thanks to them for this, so you need to try hard to think over and cunningly twist the plot, and yes they succeeded, they could, they did not hit the dirt in the face. Now I am going through the third season, the first episode has finished, and yes, this is the weakest and most predictable beginning. Only the appearance of Clementine somehow saved, she changed and very much. She became a strong, strong and unbending girl, she was well done. Yes, the first season is by far the best (for me at least).

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. 1 The QTE have gotten more annoying then they were before not hard just more annoying.
2 Clem is also very dumb this season it's not as bad in the later episodes but my god is she super dumb in the first few episodes.
3 Way too much pointless fighting with Kenny.
4 Jane is super annoying and wont shut up about her sister among other things she wont shut up about on top of that even if you chose not to steal the beg of meds Jane takes it anyways and than runs off with them and then loses it i guess since she doesn't have it when she comes back like the very next day.
5 Your choices this season matter very little i mean i think every character you have the choice to try and save end up dying either way and the choice about stealing the kid's beg also doesn't matter because it leads to the same outcome either way, the only choices that seem to matter even a little are the ones to do with Kenny.
