For fans of Telltale’s storytelling and The Walking Dead games, television series and comic books; The Walking Dead: Michonne is an emotional journey that comes highly recommended as we all wait with eager anticipation for Telltale to produce the third season of The Walking Dead.

Telltale puts one of the most well-known characters of the original plot as the main character of this spin-off. Even with some great moments as well as a nice general scheme, it feels like a lost chance to offer something really important, although few players were expecting The Walking Dead: Michonne to be something new. Even so, Michonne is charismatic enough to keep you interested all the way through the three chapters, being the most valuable asset of the game.

The miniseries format has its charm, but Michonne fails to live up to the superb franchise. [July 2016, p.71]

As thin as the walkers you're outrunning and with some glaring flaws, this unnecessary spin-off is ill-suited to Telltale's strengths, only exacerbating its weaknesses. [July 2016, p.80]

While not an outright disaster, this offshoot leans heavily on the past while misplacing all the elements that make Lee and Clem’s tale so compulsive. [August 2016, p74]

For the first time in Telltale's history the studio choose to make a mini-series based on their biggest hit, The Walking Dead.

For this game we will focus on Michonne a well-known character for the ones familiar with The Walking Dead universe, which is a good choice considering that she's rather mysterious and therefore we want to have more information on her. The series start slowly with a very conventional first episode that will not surprise gamers from the previous Telltale's games but episode 2 and 3 really stood up with big decisions that have a great impact on the story (like who lives and who dies). The character of Michonne is very well done, and the cast of side characters varies from very cool to very expected, it is clearly not their best story, but not a bad one neither.

Technically, it may be the best looking Telltale game so far and I didn't encountered any bugs during my playthrough, very good job on this part.

Finally the length, and that's my main issue with this game each episode will last about 1 hour which is way shorter than the other series (usually it's between 1 hour and a half and 2 hours for each episode) and given the fact that they are, proportionally, at the same price-tag I fell like the game is overpriced.

In conclusion if you're into the interactive stories genre, The Walking Dead: Michonne will most probably satisfy you without blowing your mind but I'll advise to wait until the game goes on sales before buying it as it's pretty short for the price.

This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. 1 So in the first five minutes this girl is almost as dumb as Clem was in season two not only does she know none of what she is seeing is real and should stop giving any of it any mind but she also just drops her sword for no reason and starts walking away from it knowing full well there are more walkers around her and don't get me started on the burning house bit.

2 Norma is a dumb F ing **** even if you tell her nothing but the truth she still thinks you're lying then tries to act like shes a nice person even tho shes not.

3 Choice aren't always what they seem to be and sometimes you'll pick a choice thinking it's one think thing and it ends up being nowhere close to what you intended to say or do a lot of the choices are also just like the beg of meds in season two where whatever choice you make the over all out come is the same either way.

4 QTE are much better then they were in the first two seasons tho they feel a bit slow in the first episode and not just because of the slow mo they add to the action for some reason, thankfully the slow mo goes away in epiosde 3.

5 The intros and recaps are way too long.

6 Outlines can be seen around objects and characters through out most of the game and there clearly not meant to be and it looks real bad, they tend to be bright green but not always and there very annoying.

7 Michonne's delusions are so dumb and annoying, the character knows none of it's real but the game still forces you to interact with it non stop, it's just very annoying and took me out of the game every time and they really bring down my enjoyment of the game.
