    QTEs and some gameplay elements could be better, yet on the storyline side and what's more important storytelling this game is brilliant it really brings new quality to video games also in terms of graphics. I'm sure new game for the series will develop even better experience 4the players.

    I really don't understand these low ratings for this magnificent piece of art! Don't have to expect some deep RPG or MMO elemens in it. It is a simple shooter game, based on a very good story, environment and amazing story, not taking into consideration the voice act.

    This is a must for every gamer for PS4, and if you want just simply sit down in a ordinary Sunday afternoon, for fun and    I really don't understand these low ratings for this magnificent piece of art!     This game is amazing and I can't figure out why all the hate. I just finished Advanced warfare and this game is WAY better (Single player) If it HAD multiplayer it would be amazing but probably 30fps so I'm glad they skipped it. Best single player game I've played in a while. They game is basically if Gears of war and Penny Dreadfull had a baby.     A visual showcase, it's by far the best looking game on console and one of the best I've seen in general on any platform in a long time.

    It's a simple, heavily scripted cover shooter so don't expect much in the way of depth or challenge, it feels like you're just along for the ride, but it's a fun ride.     The combat feels really great and the weapon variety is top notch, with certain weapons being unique to the series. Whether you're stealth killing a guard with your knife or unloading rounds with your rifle the combat feels responsive and enjoyable.

    One big negative is there's no multiplayer and absolutely no replay value unless you're a trophy hunter, it's firmly a one and done game but it's well worth buying if you can grab it on sale. I paid £20 for it and I feel it was worth the cost as I very much enjoyed the experience.    … Expand

    Just finished the game. Despite of many reviews accused Order to be a short game it took two month to finish it. As middle age man have not so much time to play so the length is perfect for me. Expirience is immersive, good picture and story. Excelent actor and voice performance. First game I saw with flawless motion capture. In overall this is a good game.

    There is a lot of criticism regarding how short this game is, and how much of it is cinematic. I understand this, but for me liked this. It was not as short as others say, but it was still a bit short, which is very sad, because I could spend weeks playing this game, not just a few hours.     With this game getting mixed reviews and seeing many positives user reviews I wasn't sure what kind of game I was getting. I'm happy to say that when it was all said it done I had a very enjoyable experience playing this game. Sure I powered through it, but the graphics are amazing and the gameplay and shooting are very satisfying. It does lack replay value and the game play is quite shallow but those faults are not enough to downplay the order. The performances by the actors are spot and as well as the writing. The facial movements, environments, characters--they're all unbelievably detailed and life-like. This game sets the bar for how amazing next gen games can look. The story is engaging and unique, and it feels like you're controlling the main character of a movie. Overall this game accomplishes a ton, and it's fantastic.

    Having said that, if you treat this as a traditional game, then you will be disappointed. It does not have a multiplayer function. The combat isn't as well executed as other games. The content is limited to 5-7 hours. You've already read about all of those things, among others, and they're not wrong.

    The thing is, who says all games have to follow the same format? Aren't people getting tired of the generic open-world concept where there is a small main story (which doesn't tend to require many hours of play to complete) and then dozens of hours dumped in as side-quests to keep you busy? I can see the argument for saying this game may not be worth the $60 retail price, and that's fair. But I think there is absolutely value in what this game achieved, and I think it probably deserved a better fate than the one it got from the gaming world. 8/10    … Expand

    This game has gotten a bum rap. I listened to the critics and stayed away from this game. It then was released for $19. I picked it up from Gamestop for $17. The game is beautiful. It really shows what the PS4 can do. The story is amazing. The backdrop of London is great. I see where action enthusiasts want more action and less movie but this is not a multiplayer fps.     I played this recently and I have to say. It was a really good movie. Because that is exactly how it felt when I played it. The graphics are stunning for starters, and the story surrounding The Order. But! There isn't actually that much gameplay. When you do play though it is enjoyable.     Its a good game. You will obviously enjoy this game. Graphics is too good. Story is also decent. But its also have some lacking. 1st its don't have any online game play and 2ndly the game is short. You can easily complete this game in 5-6 hours.

The gameplay is very fun except from the moments of extended interactive cinematics that gets you really bored. Furthermore it lacks duration as when you finish the game you feel that you did not get enough. IThe game provides the ultimate graphic experience, cinematic presentation and atmosphere.     The Order 1886 is more than a good game. It is very fun to play because of the variety of weapons and the great story. Of course it is no masterpiece, but it is a perfect game for a rainy weekend on which you want to start and finish an exciting game.

    The only negative thing about it is the excessive QTE's.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is son of Rome for ps4 but much much better. It is (unbelievably) better looking than RSOR and holds within it a gripping and exciting cover based shooter with a little more story than shooting. It deserves an 8 but I give it a 10 simply because it aims high and most don't appreciate it for what it is, a victim of its own hype. Now that you can get it for £10 there is no reason not to play this game, roll on a much improved sequel. Simply beautiful… Expand

    Don't tell what others say to you, the graphics aren't the only good stuff here. The theme, the atmosphere, the clashes with the werewolves are very good. Unique game, a little bit underrated.

Bought it with low expectations and was blown away by all the negative reviews. The immersion I experienced and the awesome graphics definitely were the best parts about this game. As many have said it is not a traditional shooter but I enjoyed the simple combat system.A very underrated game I am happy I tried.     I don’t know about you guys, but before this game was released I read quite a bit about it in my videogames magazines and it was always sold as a 3rd person shooter.     I don’t know about you guys, but before this game was released I read quite a bit about it in my videogames magazines and it was always sold as a 3rd person shooter. Well, the thing is, that for me is not a pure 3rd person shooter (let’s say as Uncharted or Tomb raider), and it was advertised as one. So yes, If you go and buy this game expecting the see the next uncharted or whatever you will be massively disappointed.
    So what is this game? I’d say is somewhere between Until dawn kind of games and Uncharted. It has a bit of Until Dawn in terms of the game being focused on a story rather than on game play. This means you’ll have quite a few cut-scenes, some of them long and quite a bit of the action is in the form of QTEs. It is just a bit like Until dawn, because it is obviously not so good at giving you choices of what to say or to do (actually it gives you none). On the other hand is a bit like uncharted, meaning you have some really good shootouts (the mechanics are really good) but then there is no plataforming at all. So summarising, that’s why I said is a bit between Uncharted and until dawn, it is none of them but something in between. The order is a story driven game, where you walk around a bit and you take control for the shooting. This means the game is not great as an adventure like game (e.g. until dawn) and not great as a shooter (e.g. Uncharted) but what’s good is very good.

    The setting is awesome and I am not talking about the graphics (and yes, they are very enjoyable). I am talking about the atmosphere as a whole. It is kind of a bit realistic, mixed with fantasy, very dark, simply a great universe. The story and the characters are good, not awesome but quite good, much better than in most thriller movies. The shooting mechanics are very well implemented; shooting feels good, and very enjoyable and using the right kind of weapon makes a difference I think.

    So yes, if you know what you’re against when you get this game, I think you’ll find it very enjoyable. If you are expecting a very specific genre (3rd person shooter) you’ll be disappointed because it is just not that. It is not a masterpiece and it is quite average as a 3rd person shooter or an adventure game but it is quite good as a weird mixture of those two genres.    … Expand

It's simple common sense that if you go in and being pucky about all the little things that don't tickle your fancy the you give the game a bad rep and then all the robots will follow in that reviewers footsteps. To those who appreciated the game I salute you and I feel that is still hope yet. The game is short but anything longer would have just been filler and would have been bad for the game. The story is magnificient, MATURE. The grahics are ... well nothing less than breathtaking. That all put together created something that would for me a lasting appeal. Bottom line if you want a sandbox style game by all means go play one. I you want different experience that you will not get bored of in the first playthrough, and will probably go for a next play just cause it was that good, then by all means join the order. Always appreciate what is brought to the table and don't be too quick to judge and you might be pleasantly surprise.… Expand

    The game is underrated I guess. The story is great, the characters, atmosphere, gameplay is great. It's a beautiful game.
    It's a bit short okay and sometimes the "point and click" stuff come too often. But anyway I'm happy to have finished the game it was great :)
    I really they are planning to do the sequel :D

    I was put off this game by some friends and reviews however when I found it available for five bucks I thought I would check it out. I am glad I did... Whilst the actual game mechanics are a little lacking it is not the worst FPS I have played and the graphics are truly amazing. The best element for me though was the story...     The Order es un juego cinemático. Es una película con una historia y un guión a la altura de producciones de Hollywood. A la altura? Que va, muy superior a verdaderos truños que te ponen en el cine al precio que me ha costado este juego. Jugablemente es un shooter en 3ª persona con coberturas, al estilo de ‘Gears of War’ o ‘Uncharted’, combates por oleadas alternando el uso de diversas armas, con disparos principal y secundario, situaciones que se resuelven con QTE’s y una discreta exploración para encontrar coleccionables sin mucho peso en la trama, estas son sus características jugables. En el aspecto técnico es un juego impecable que, efectivamente, muestra el músculo de Ps4 en su ya lejana salida. Con unos gráficos y un nivel de detalle del Londres de la revolución industrial impresionantes para los años que lleva encima.

    En cuanto a la historia es lo mejor del título. La recompensa del título es precisamente seguirla. Una peli para un fin de semana que no os va a decepcionar. Recomendado.     Look, I'm old. I have a family. I don't have much time for gaming. I certainly don't get or play new releases. The Order is regularly around $5 on sale. It it easily worth that. The story is well written and engrossing. The controls are responsive and effective. The graphics and sound are top notch. Overall this is probably one of the best Third Person Shooters I've ever played. I get whyLook, I'm old. I have a family. I don't have much time for gaming.     Looked great. Was enjoyable. Unfortunately was a bit shorter than it should have been. Though it may not have had groundbreaking gameplay mechanisms, one should never forget that gaming is about having a good time playing and The Order definitely delivered a good time.

    Loved everything about this game. Perfect combination of story and gameplay. The atmosphere, era and characters all made this the perfect thriller. The best part was nogrinding, repetitive missions and it doesn’t take 84 years to complete. This game deserves a sequel, it was and still is one of my favorite games.

    Its 4/10 to me (i got i for 10€) cause the game is way too short and lineal, gunfight are not fun and too easy (even on the higher difficulty) cliffhanger knowing that you game sucks was dumb... but the story the characters the graphism are awsome ! Its not worth 60 bucks but for 10 bucks its perfect

    Игру я прошел через год после её выхода, начитался "отзывов". Каково же было моё удивление, когда я её прошел. Это чудо, какое то: сюжет супер (требует продолжения). Герои, я в книгах меньше переживал за героев (их отношения требуют продолжения). Атмосфера..... даа (в продолжении должна была усилиться). Ну, за графику (которая в продолжении должна была стать ещё лучше) вопросов ни у кого не было.
    НЕ БУДЕТ ПРОДОЛЖЕНИЯ!!! Это единственный недостаток игры.
    Я надеюсь, что издатели и разработчики не будут слушать дураков и когда-нибудь найдут деньги на продолжение. Рекомендую всем, это обязательная игра в коллекции PS4!

    this game is pretty story is okay I don't game for stories. If I want a good story I will read a book or watch a movie. The gameplay is a lot like naughty dogs uncharted without the climbing .can not skip lengthy cutscenes which I hate. I am giving this game a 10 because the graphics alone should make it a 7 and I see it is below that. It's a good 8 hours of fun. Overall it is a good game.

    This is an underrated game. It does not give you the perfect third person shooter combat and it gives you a small portion of exploration, which is a shame because the areas, streets and your surroundings look so good. It is one of the best looking games I have played and if you do not mind a very linear approach and a cinematic experience, something like an interactive film, this is a must play.

    It’s cheap enough now so, I’d recommend anyone to buy this game or at least, just play it for a day. You won’t regret it, I’m pretty sure!    … Expand

    Un juego entretenido como shooter, variedad de Armas muy novedosas, ambientación de lo mejor de la época victoriana y una muy buena historia. Lo malo, demasiado corto, demasiados cinemas, demasiados “Quick Time Event”. Buen juego pudo ser mejor. Si es que sale una segunda entrega ojalá no tenga en demasía lo malo descrito.

I was interested in the game concept, but when negative reviews started to arrive, I realized that the black bars were not the only red flag, the shooting and controls were clunky and bad for the majority of gamers, and the combination of up-close camera with black bars made for some difficult to manage 3rd person encounters in which the only thing you see is your characters back.

    In the following 7 years, I've grown fond of PS exclusives and started to give some forgotten games a shot. Been waiting for a next-gen patch for the order 1886 for 2 years now, and it has become evident that Sony has long buried this mistake and wants nothing to do with it. So, I've tried to install a nonofficial patch from illusion that removes the black bars but lowers resolution to 720p (figured that's a nice tradeoff for me) but only works with a 3rd party app that is not supported on PS5. Finally, there was no way to play the game but its original state :/

    While playing The order 1886 I was really surprised with the overall graphics quality, and the storytelling mechanics implemented are awesome! You can tell they took a page from naughty dog in the way they transitioned the lore from cinematic into gameplay and combat dialogue for a remarkable experience. I remember feeling "this game is NOT for everyone" while watching the long cinematics and taking the guided tour through the gothic city corridors. I really enjoyed the way the game takes its time to build the world around you, the characters, and their own arcs, it's all top-tier work. But many gamers might find that approach boring.

    After completing the game, I gave it a 2nd run and felt positive about the experience. That's why I'm giving it an 8. Despite its shortcomings and mistakes, The order 1886 was a great experience and fun game to play.    … Expand

    I just finished The Order again. Yes it is short, but damn it is still visually so good. I wish there would be PS5 performance patch to play this in even higher resolution and frame rate.

    the first game i played on my Ps4 that i played nearly 4 years ago and the first game that i got a platinum trophy. it always stick to my mind because it got me interested in gaming. not the best game but definitely a great game and pretty much underrated. and at the blew me away with insane graphics and interesting story

    Damn…So, I just finished this game and wow it is pretty cool. The atmosphere and mood was set from the beginning and I enjoyed all the characters all of which were performed brilliantly. The graphics still look great all these years later. I only wish it was just a little bit longer and we got to see another side to some of these characters but the struggle of faith was good enough.     Годно в игре всё, кроме персонажей, для них, как будто забыли прописать достаточно тонкостей чтобы им сочувствовать. Но если закрыть на это глаза и войти в поток происходящего. Lo cierto es que tardé tanto en decidirme a jugarlo debido a la cantidad de críticas negativas. Pero sin embargo, mi crítica no va ser negativa, pues tras haberlo jugado pude ver ciertos aspectosTras más de 5 años después de su salida al mercado por fin he podido disfrutar de esta entrega exclusiva de Sony. Después de pensarlo bastante me decidí a jugar este videojuego, The Order: 1886. Lo cierto es que tardé tanto en decidirme a jugarlo debido a la cantidad de críticas negativas. Pero sin embargo, mi crítica no va ser negativa, pues tras haberlo jugado pude ver ciertos aspectos positivos y no tantos negativos como la gente ha dicho.
    Por un lado, el apartado gráfico, pese a ser un juego de 2015 sigue luciendo bárbaro. Pero esto es gracias en mi opinión al llamado granulado cinematográfico, el cuál hace brillar más aún sus texturas casi fotorrealistas y modelados muy detallados, tanto del entorno como de los personajes. También ayuda a esto la iluminación tenue y sombría y la paleta de colores, que a veces los grises y marrones predominan en pantalla. Es un juego que supo explotar el "Unreal Engine 4", como también lo hizo por ejemplo el "Batman: Arkham Knight".
    El lado que más me decepcionó y que tiene unión con lo anteriormente dicho, es la cámara, la cuál es cinematográfica, cortada por arriba y por abajo, lo cuál reduce el campo de visión y dificultará la visión en pantallas pequeñas.
    Un punto que si me gustó, aunque era un poco exagerado, es la cercanía de la cámara con el personaje, un recurso para hacer brillar el intrincado y detallado traje del protagonista.
    Por otro lado tenemos la trama, la cuál tiene luces y sombras. Parece que es simplemente un juego en el que tenemos que acabar con unas bestias, llamadas "híbridos", pero la trama es más que eso, es bastante compleja y rebuscada. Comienza de forma muy impactante pero a medida que transcurre la historia (pese a ser bastante corta), pierde intensidad en mi opinión. Aún así, algo maravilloso que supieron realizar, es la banda sonora, los doblajes, la caracterización de personajes y actuación (tanto corporal como facial) y por supuesto la ambientación.
    La historia transcurre en la Londres de 1886, en plena época Victoriana e Industrial, pero el estilo "Steampunk" está presente casi en todo momento, especialmente en el arsenal, pues contamos con armas muy avanzadas para la época en la cuál transcurre la historia y sus detallados y realistas entornos llenan de autenticidad el juego.
    El punto más negativo y que resta valor a esta entrega es la cantidad excesiva de cinemáticas que hay. Y es excesiva pues la historia se puede jugar en menos de 10 horas a un ritmo normal. Es cierto que las cinemáticas son un recurso valioso para demostrar poder técnico y narrar la historia con más agudeza pero en este caso la cantidad es excesiva.
    En conclusión, es un videojuego notable pero sin duda uno que se olvidará dentro de Sony. Es una demostración de poder que tiene o que tuvo el motor gráfico de la cuarta generación pero también un juego interesante en cuanto a ambientación se refiere y que cuenta con una historia más intrincada e interesante de lo que uno se cree. Solo la gente que lo juegue hasta el final podrá decir si mis palabras son ciertas o no.    … Expand

    Fantastic underrated single player game. Gameplay is very similar to Uncharted (which is not a bad by any means) however the best thing I can say about this game is it's presentation. This game is absolutely gorgeous. It's a treat play and look at and is even more stunning to discover the game is made in 2015. The steampunk/gothic aesthetic really gels well for the period it's based inFantastic underrated single player game. Ditto the game’s dialogue, which contains flourishes of eloquence that founder because, as pleasing as the words are to the ear, the actions they affect have no bite.
