    Why? Why did you do this to me? I played the Order wanting to love it and at first I did. It was graphically perfect. It showed me that it had narrative potential and that its world had been thoroughly thought out by the developers. I could just imagine all possibilities the game had in store. But in the end it never really felt like the game started. I kept waiting for that moment where IWhy? Why did you do this to me? I played the Order wanting to love it and at first I did. Like it was my story that was being told and I could experience it in full. The Order felt like it was on the brink of brilliance at all times but never quite got there. The characters couldn't develop properly, because the pace kept moving before you could fully understand what drove them forward. While the twist and the original plot should be incredibly powerful, by the time you reach it your interest has already dwindled. I don't think it deserves to be hated, but there is a serious case of antisipointment.… Expand

    I think this game was created just to showcase the graphics of ps4. That's it,
    Werewolves are the biggest disappointment in this game though.

    (this is just me writing nothing important because my review has to be at least 150 characters long to be posted. twenty five characters left: Bingo!)

    It looks really good, but playing in it is really boring thing (skirmishes are bad, boring interactive with objects, but game contain some cool scene). Not "must-have" exclusive on PS4.

    Firstly, if you want to get into technology this game is amazing.
    The characters are well designed, THE GREEEEPHICS are so good, and The atmosphere is handled well, and the controls are actually quite nice... BUTTTTTTTT this game has many problems. -Repetitive QTEs that will leave you bored -Gameplay is not fun even    This game was a MAJOR Dissapointment But it holds itself up a bit.

    I rented this game, and I feel like it is really worth a rent. The graphics are astounding, many places are just sheer beautiful art. The combat is fun, the explosions look really good and all the effects had me very satisfied. The story is decent, although i feel like they may have been pushed to release it sooner because it was short clocking in around 7-8 hours. The AI was alright, i feel like it couldve been better, as i could hide in a corner and the enemies would stack up near, then i could just easily pick them off. They shouldve made it were the melee converge on you. Other than that, it was pretty good, i feel like they couldve added a bit more to the combat in the boss and lycon fights as well... oh and there is no mulitplayer so the replay value is nill basicly. So 7/10 for me, rent it for sure and dont pass this title up.

    Don't be deceived with low scores. It's not that bad. Plot is interesting. Graphic is amazing. Unfortunately it's extremely short. When it started to be aborbing, the game finished.

Well maybe since the game is so short, it's excellent from beginning to end, a game that will set a new standard for gameplay and storytelling? If walking slowly with hardly any interactive elements, quick time events, and long cutscene's is your idea of great interactive story telling. And if taking cover behind chest high walls, firing at the same enemies while using the same bland weapons, and talking part in a few poorly done, forced stealth sequences. If that's your cup of tea, then be my guest. Also the game has no replay value, whatsoever. Their are a couple of hidden collectibles and audio logs for you to uncover, but by my estimation, they would not be worth slogging through the same repetitive and boring game again. With that being said, the games not horrible. Its playable (at least the parts you get to play). Worth renting or buying at a deep discount, but not a must buy for even the most hardcore PlayStation fan. 6/10.… Expand

    Reason for lower score, short game, dullish and repetitive gameplay. The story is decent but is nothing amazing. You will spend most of your time in very long gears of war style firefights, behind cover and shooting. The cinematics and graphics are great and very well detailed, and the weapons are all different and unique.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Just shy of greatness, The Order 1886 has a lot going for it. Everything in its production is flawless - graphics, animations, sound, music and technology cannot get enough rave reviews. So is the world of the game, which is rich and detailed. Mechanically, most of the game is a very narrative-driven Gears of War 'em-up.

    Where I feel it fails, is the plot; specifically, what it does not tell, rather than what it does. The world seems interesting, The Order is a mysterious enough concept, but with crap hitting the fan with a rebellion and what-not before the word go, we never get to explore it before falling apart. We barely touch on any characters for that matter, either. And when your game is a fairly brief cinematic experience, that's an understandable deal breaker for many.

    A longer prelude, a slower burning decent into rebellion and madness, and a little more focus on the supernatural premise that sent this game on its path to collide with its own fans' expectations would have allowed for a great cinematic experience; as it stands, I hope they learned their lesson, and I cannot wait for a sequel.

    PS: tacked-on multiplayer doesn't add replayability. It adds bullet points to the back of the box. I'm happy with the emphasis on single-player, and no points were deducted for a lack of a crappy deathmatch mode.    … Expand

However, the game tries to be a cinematic experience by always being in widescreen, and it's really annoying. I fully respect Sony for setting the game in the 1800s though, it's a neat concept, but unfortunately, they more focused on a good-looking game other than making the game fun.
    Overall, The Order:1886 is like a bad Hollywood superstar; it's gorgeous, but failed to execute what makes a game good: enjoyability. While it stood up in graphics, the game suffered the cost of freedom.

    This is probably the best looking video-game that I'm seen on the PlayStation 4 so far. Unfortunately as stunning as the graphics were, the game-play is severely lacking. This plays more along the lines of a Telltale Games titles with it's scripted option, and visual indicators for combat. The story was short, and I feel that the developer could've done more here.     Es una de las experiencias graficas mas satisfactorias que hay. Eso hay que aplaudirlo. La historia se pudo haber explotado de una manera expectacular ya que el tema era interesante (lobos y vampiros) pero es en lo que menos enfoca el juego. Solo 4 peleas con lobos y ninguna con vampiros.     El juego en si es un gran avance a nivel tecnico, la movilidad deja mucho que desear y en especial por los quick time events, aclaro que a mi punto de vista no es un juego malo, por lo contrario es un juego que sobresale por sus graficos y por meter un nuevo genero a la industria de los videojuegos, la forma de crear un medio casi cinematografico, pero la parte negativa es que no deja unEl juego en si es un gran avance a nivel tecnico, la movilidad deja mucho que desear y en especial por los quick time events, aclaro que a mi punto de vista no es un juego malo, por lo contrario es un juego que sobresale por sus graficos y por meter un nuevo genero a la industria de los videojuegos, la forma de crear un medio casi cinematografico, pero la parte negativa es que no deja un personaje memorable o una rejugabilidad deseada, aunque lo acabes en dificultad mas elevada solo ofrece a lo mucho de 7 a 8 horas de juego, despues de eso de haberlo terminado, no me he visto la necesidad de volver a jugarlo. a mi punto de vista un juego que pueden darle la oportunidad estando a un buen precio. vale la pena probarlo pero no esperen a que sea un juego de completa satisfaccion.… Expand

    El juego es super corto y con alquilartelo un fin de semana te vale para pasartelo, no te van a quedar ganas de rejugarlo.

    Nada que ver con la expectación que se creó.

    If you like a steampunk style game with some fantasy in it this must be a good option. The game is short: probably about 7-8 hours and it has very good graphics, and cinematics. Gameplay is good, with different kinds of weapons. Voices in Spanish are good. I feel this game should have last at least 2 more hours to give it a proper ending and get deeper into the story. If the ending hadIf you like a steampunk style game with some fantasy in it this must be a good option. The game is short: probably about 7-8 hours and it has very good graphics, and cinematics.     The story felt like there wasn't much effort put into it by the writers and the ending was anticlimactic. I think the writers were shooting for a    The Order or, more appropriately, The Rental: 1886, is a short but decent game. The graphics are impressive and the combat was actually semi-exciting, but nothing special. It *is* a step above generic, but it's nowhere near a great game.

    The story felt like there wasn't much effort put into it by the writers and the ending was anticlimactic. I think the writers were shooting for a cliffhanger but, unfortunately, they failed in that aspect. And usually I don't mind linearity if it's in a well-executed game (like Metal Gear Solid), but in The Order, it just doesn't work out.

    While it's a graphically beautiful game and the combat mechanics are decent, The Order left me wanting more, and there's practically no replay value to it at all. I'd say it's a game worth playing through once, but it's not worth the hefty price tag it still fetches at Gamestop.    … Expand

    Visuals are the high point of the game, with nicely detailed and dark toned environments of an alternative Victorian England. Another redeeming quality is the good performance from its voice actors, who had a very good delivery, despite the bland and uninspiring script.

    Overall, this is a mediocre experience. If you're still curious, I recommend you get this game cheap or try to get a friend to lend it to you.    … Expand

    A fairly satisfying experience overall. Still looks top class 5 years later, its slowness being the obvious compromise. Combat feels like sub-par Uncharted, it needed to be less stiff and use the "science weapons" more. The story is entertaining and introduces us to in interesting world. I was happy it wasn't long and drawn out.

    Biggest disappointment of 2015. Probably some of the best graphics i have ever seen and the story had so much promise. A fun but woefully brief shooter which is way below its value for money. Buy if you want an interactive movie.

    El juego es muy aburrido, pierde accion en partes esenciales de la historia, la mecanica de monstruos es buena pero en este juego es un poco mas de desastrosa, ademas que la campaña dure entre 7 a 5 horas no ayuda al juego. Diria que lo rescatable del juego son los graficos y un poco sus personajes.

The hand on hand combat sucks too, you have to follow EXACTLY what the pointer on the screen tells you otherwise you won’t be able to do any damage at all, and that is very frustrating because it doesn’t feel that is your skill that counts but just to follow a recipe to win.

    Anyway, the game was really entertaining at times, but in a nutshell I think this was an average movie that you would watch just to kill the time.    … Expand

The saving grace here is that there are real consequences to failing the QTE's, yet the mechanics overall don't add anything new to the genre. The stand out attraction of course is the graphics and sound. The visuals in this game are so good that it feels as though you are playing through a cut-scene continuously. The sound effects sit nicely along side some good voice acting that all complements an interesting story. And the story is where we meet mediocrity again. There are some really interesting premises here, from the ware-wolfs, to the knights of the round table. The world has been built with engaging lore to be sure. Unfortunately, everything has been put together so blandly and drab, I can see how people were disengaged early on.

    This sure is a technical marvel as far as presentation goes. And there are some great concepts riddled throughout the steampunk world. So its a shame everything falls flat in the end due to the overall generic feel of the game. If the overall concept of the story interests you, worth a play through (I found it entertaining). The pacing was good, but the game was that short that i managed to get a platinum in less than 2 days. This game deserved multiplayer imo. Cool gunplay is enough to make a multiplayer for this. All the negative reviews put me off playing it but once I finally got around to it, I definitely enjoyed the game more than I thought I would. They could’ve done with making the storyline a little longer but all the cutscenes were actually interesting to watch. Going forward I really hope they invest in the story, develop the combat and fix the AI.     I acquired this a few nights ago from the PS Store for 20 dollars. It is in no way a bad game, but it is in no way a great game either. Even though the visuals are aging, it still looks very nice. The gameplay for the most part is good, although there are some useful mechanics that could be here. Perhaps the ability to throw grenades back at the enemies who cast them towards you would also have been cool. I also hated the times when I was not allowed to sprint. And this thing is more of a nit-pick, but the option to be able to toss a pebble or something towards a wall to lure guards to you would have been nice. With the advanced weaponry you can use in the game, being able to throw a rock at a wall doesn't seem implausible. What is a big problem is not that there are QTEs, but such an over-reliance on them. If there were fewer of them and they were more spread out then I could forgive their inclusion much more. They were just annoying. And I would have really liked to be able to track the collectibles and inspected items that are found along the way. It's very frustrating having to go through chapters after completing the game and inspecting everything in hopes that I haven't just to get the trophies I need. That is especially when you cannot skip a single cutscene even after you beat the game. To be fair though this game seems really easy when it comes to acquiring a platinum trophy, which is what I intend to do. The story in my opinion isn't bad but the longer I played, the less interested I became in it. It tends to drag and being forced to sit through the cutscenes doesn't help with that. And the overall ending of the game was kind of abrupt even though I completed it in two separate playthroughs. The weapons in the game are very fun to use, and the Blacksight ability is helpful when you're in a tight spot. Many people have said that the game could have used a multiplayer mode of some sort. I don't disagree with that, but I think giving the limited presence that the Lycans have in the game, a horde mode would have been a brilliant move. You could play it alone or with another player locally, and maybe up to four people online. Aside from going through the levels to find the things that you missed, there's not a ton of replay value here at all. I wasn't really sure I wanted to play it around the time it originally released, but I think it's worth a go at the price it's at now should you choose to buy it digitally. I prefer to buy physically but I didn't really care to get a hard copy of this. In conclusion, it's not a bad game at all and doesn't deserve the rep it gets. Without giving anything away, the ending does seem to set up a sequel. It'd be nice to get one and if so I personally would like them to pick up the pace a little. Las peleas con bosses simplemente son Quick Time Event, algo que se ha criticado bastante, en especial, el jefe final.     The game boils down to many cutscenes (which break the action of the game all the time), QTEs (fighting the boss using 100% quick time event is the craziest thing I've ever done in a game), tiny corridors, repetitive enemies.

    The most annoying thing is to watch the 5min cutscene and, when control passes to you, it's just to walk two steps down a corridor or press "X" to open a door, immediately returning to new cutscenes.

    This game is short. Looks great but almost everything in the world is static. The game-play is so linear that you must press button X to continue else you die...

    You can skip this one if you haven't played it. You won't miss anything

    The game looks fantastic, but I don't think that graphics should be the defining factor in deciding a game's quality.

    The rest of the game is surprisingly a lot more like your David Cage-Telltale Games interactive movie type of the thing than a shooter, which is a let down (for me at least). The cutscenes are endless, but the thing that irks me most are QTEs. QTEs are NOT interactivity.     This game is underrated just because it’s short in comparision of the anticipation it had, can’t ignore the revolutionary graphics, in addition to the story including a great protaginist and characters, guns and shooting mechanics, creatures and moments, the sequel would’ve been something big but won’t happen duo to unexplained hate

    Es hat mich unterhalten, zum Teil war das Spiel sogar richtig gut. Mit vermutlich mehr Zeit und Budget hätte man das Spiel wohl richtig gut machen können. So ist es eine stabile Investition für kleines Geld. Allen anderen würde ich es nicht empfehlen.

    Didn't catch up on the game until 2021. The setting sounded interesting and the graphics weren't bad despite the age. The gameplay takes getting used to. It has few highlights. It's more like a movie where you have some choices. For €5 that was a well invested hour. At that time for a full-price title of 60€, of course that puts everything into perspective. So I can understand why some reviews are so bad.

    Overall 7 out of 10 points.

    It entertained me, and at times the game was actually really good. With probably more time and budget the game could have been made really well. So it is a stable investment for little money. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else.    … Expand

    Finally knocked this off the backlog. Playing it now, years removed from the hype/backlash around its launch, I had a good time with it. It is short and ends abruptly, but what's here is good. If they made sequels I would play them.

    Sanırım ilk çıktığında çok linear olduğu için negatif tepkiler toplamıştı. Fakat bazen kısa ve linear oyunları daha çok tercih ediyorum. Bu da onlardan biri. Eğer ucuza aldıysanız ve iki-üç gecelik bir oyun istiyorsanız tam tanımı bu. Grafikleri de dönemine göre iyi.

    Although the storyline invokes weighty subjects like colonialization and socioeconomic inequality, it fails to address these topics in any substantive way. Ditto the game’s dialogue, which contains flourishes of eloquence that founder because, as pleasing as the words are to the ear, the actions they affect have no bite.
