    All you could ask for a game of this genre. An interesting plot, strong characters, great music, great gameplay, ton of hours for the main quest, and a good replay value.

There are more cut scenes and walking than actual gameplay. SPOILER ALERT..... they destroyed all of your favorite characters. They dumb down Joel's character on purpose to make him weak and stupid. In the first game he was very smart and had a ton of experience. He didn't even trust a guy that was sick on the road. He chose to run him over. Later we find out that stranger on the road was not sick and it was all a set up. They do everything to make you dislike Joel and continue to spit on him. They have a trans female/male shoot him in the leg and torture him with a golf club right in the first 2 hours of the game. They spit on him literally. They made Ellie unlikable and a selfish human being. She kills everyone and continued to blame Joel for saving her life. She cared so much in saving humanity because she has the immunity but instead she became a lesbian and chose not to reproduce. Let that sink in. She even let's Abby the one that tortured and murdered Joel in front of her get away with it. Abby also bit off two of Ellie's fingers. Her letting Abby go is basically saying Joel deserved dying. A loveable character who is the main character of the game. There was no justice for Joel. This game robbed everything from you just for shock value. The current narrative of destroying the male character to make the female character rise is very weak story telling. It is disrespectful to both genders. Females even hate it. Worst of all the pacing of the story is horrible. You literally play as Abby the character we hate for half the game. They tried so hard to make us like her but none of it worked. This game is a waste of time and money and should have never been created as a sequel. The critics are liars and they don't care about what the fans want. They only care about their political narrative and force you to like something that you will never accept. Then they insult you by calling you names because you don't like the product they are praising. They are the worst kind of human being. Trust the gamers that actually love playing the kind of video games you like. Those are the ones who you should listen to. Vote with your wallet and avoid this dumpster fire. Why care for a game created by a studio that is run by Neil Druckmann who is a male feminist and does not care about the fans and the people he works with. That's why 75 percent of Naughty dog left the company due to how he treated them. This game is created by people that don't care about you and backed by people that hate you.     Absolutely smasging game, great attention to detail on every step. The story is superb and it does keep you on your toes. It would have been a 10/10 if not for a little to much of LGBT+ agenda beeing pushed that really didn't fit the story at certain points.

But as a sequel of LEGENDARY p1 this is a complete **** Ruined plot, ruined characters. If you, writers, think that the entire game-community and fans of p1 are the gays from Twitter, you are wrong. The majority of that "people" who yelling about gay tolerance and feminism wouldn't even play this game. But who would, they DIDN'T WANTED AND EXPECTED that **** that you've done. We wanted continuation of the story about Joel and Ellie with her immunity, not the story about gay Ellie and Dina, fighting with group because of male-looking "woman", who killed Joel, and her trans-friend Lily who has problems with accepting her gender. I (and about the whole community) refuse to take this as the part 2 of The Last of Us. This is fantasies of a sick person, thrown on the legacy of p1.… Expand

    This game, play with my feelings. Sometimes I'm happy, then sad and then angry, then happy again.
    I'm so grateful to the developers for this story. It have conquered my heart. Technically, the game is also a masterpiece. It runs smoothly on the PS4 Pro, the loading times are short and the graphics is are bombastic. Thanks, Naughty Dog.

    I don't know why people get upset about the story, It was completely well developed. The story gave us a full view of every character, the happy life of Joel after Part I, and a great vengeance story for both characters Ellie and Abby. The loss, the pain, and the emotion showed in the game are even better than any movie. People just get upset about ND killed the iconic character but JoelI don't know why people get upset about the story, It was completely well developed.     After waiting over 5 years and a wonderfull part 1, I expected this game to be at least a 7,5/10. But after only a few hours, i realized that the story isn't nearly as good and coherent as the first one was. If i am objectively this game is a 4/10 but subjectivly i can only give it a 1,5/10 because my expectations were so high.

The game was quite good, i know the story is kinda sucks and confusing, but that's not what the real problem that i saw now, all i see people kept being salty over a story like most of these people are more worst than Neil, and they kept calling his rude names like more rude than Neil himself, all of this drama could have been avoided if those youtubers didn't upload leaks and making a various hate content on people that worked hard on this game, i don't want to be participated in these drama but what i have to say is: Story is 7.5/10, gameplay overall 8/10, graphics 8.5/10, the animation including dismemberment i will give it 8,5/10, and for the characters i'll give it around 7/10, so overall the total is: 90 (9).… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I have finished the Last of Us Part II and I must say this really got me. The mechanics, the graphics and the sound are great. The way you interact with the environment makes tlou2 a very realistic and immersive experience of its own kind. However the main aspect of games like the last of us, the story, is really bothering me. The story pretty much starts off with Joel’s death. His death had a very powerful effect on me and most people probably. This death had such a powerful effect not only because of the fact that it is Joel who they killed, it’s also the way he got murdered which bothered me a lot. Later the character who killed him, Abby, was also the one we played for half of the game. This part of the game was a way to make us sympathize with Abby, but it didn’t really let me do that. For the entirety of her part, I couldn’t care less for what Abby experienced, let alone even having any kind of sympathy for this character. It was the opposite: Every time I died as Abby, I got happy, I cheered. The Ellie part compensates until a certain point for the failure of the Abby part, but only until Ellie becomes the one who is the most lost. The ending is the ultimate height of futility. What is it even worth trying and fighting for? That’s a question not only Ellie has to ask herself, but also the player. What is even the point in playing if every action leads to more loss and loneliness? Perhaps this is what Naughty Dog tried to accomplish and if it were the case, then perhaps they had the wrong goal in mind.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of Us 2 rides on a lot of goodwill from the incredible The Last of Us. Without that goodwill the hype would not be there. Unfortunately, I can't say that it has lived up to the hype.

    Everyone critic(Mostly paid shills) and most positive user scores(Of which mostly come from inactive accounts with only one review) are calling this game a masterpiece without any good reason and this is just BS.

    Graphics:Its stunning by all means even for PS4 standards. Character design however looked like ass.

    Voice acting: Again very good, nothing to complain about.

    Gameplay: Nothing to complain about. Its great, but nothing breathtaking or new.

    Story: What I can say is it’s far too long and structurally awkward. But it’s in the second half that this game really falls apart. There is a distasteful theme of underlying patronizing that makes the game feel like a 25 hour endeavor that only exists to tell players off.

    We are forced into performing certain actions we don’t want to do, only then to be admonished for doing so. Often these are contrived parts which compromise the integrity of the characters simply to facilitate certain plot points to get a desired reaction. As such they make decisions that are often fundamentally incoherent and illogical.

    The inconsistency of the treatment of certain characters performing the same actions during the second part is, at times, embarrassingly bad. The ending is a very good example of this it’s laugh out loud ridiculous in its lack of logic. The plot is clumsy, ham-fisted, and trite. Subtle this game is not and comes across as a series of cheap parlour tricks.

    Killing Abby was literally the whole point of the almost the entire game, sparing her made Ellie's journey just all the more pointless. One might argue that she did it because she knew that killing her wouldn't bring her back, but revenge isn't about bringing people back, but giving them justice.

    Ellie also killed dozens of people just to get to Abby, so she might as well have finished what she started, that way the ending would have had a greater impact. At the end, Ellie lost Joel, her father figure and closest thing she will ever have to a family, Jessie, Dina and Tommy threw in the towel on her and left, she got her 2 fingers bitten off, she lost her chance to avenge Joel and she can also no longer properly play Joels guitar anymore, the only memory she has left of Joel, forcing her to leave it behind.

    My Verdict: Everything that made the first TLOU special was just gutted out to the point of being disrespectful, leaving few positives in its place.

    Some might compliment the games Graphics, Voice acting and Gameplay but have to remember that this is a Story driven game. In TLOU 2 case, it absolutely sucked in its core aspect, that being the Story.

    You can't judge a beat-em-up game for its graphics and story when the combos don't work and when it suffers from input lags.

    You can't judge a Strategie Game for its voice acting when it has anything to do with Strategy( Example being Command and Conquer Tiberium Twilight)

    You can not Judge a looter shooter for its Design and Graphics when the game is fundamentally broken. This was also the reason why Anthem failed and got ultimately axed in the first place.

    And lastly, you can't judge a Story driven game for its Voice acting, Gameplay and Graphics when the Story is utter crap.

    Most of the fake users here giving positive reviews can't even make a single convincing argument for the Story.

    What made the previous game special is just gutted out to the point of being disrespectful, leaving few positives in its place.

    I wouldn't be looking forward for a TLOU 3 considering that the majority of the devs behind this and the first game quit the studio due to the horrible working conditions and the abusive crunch that Naughty Dog put these people through. And frankly, im done with Naughty Dog as a whole.    … Expand

I rushed to get finished because of the spoilers , but can say the cutscenes and the facial movement are some of the best ever seen on a game, naughty dog did a great work on the game. The Last of Us conquistou muitos com a game play inovadora, é uma história de conexão através do sofrimento com dois personagens que se amam como pai e filha mas que não sabem se expressar. A Parte 2 foi a perfeita na melhoria da jogabilidade mas no direcionamento da história foi muito ruim. A história não é ruim mas também não é boa como a primeira. Matar o Joel, o personagem que nos conectou emotivamente com o jogo, foi um erro. Pra mim seria mais interessante se a história fosse o conflito entre Joel e Ellie por ele ter tirado ela da mesa de cirurgia. Teve uma cena que eles retiraram jogo que foi dela tocando o violão depois de ter matado uma galera e assim que ela toca chega o Joel.

    Foi um misto de euforia com a excelente jogabilidade e uma decepção por causa da história. Muitas Analise de pessoas que jogaram com acesso antecipado estão "contaminadas" pois a Nought Dog mandou uma cartinha explicando que o Jogo se refere a pessoas e não a Ellie e Joel.

    A Ellie e o Joel Fizeram coisas muito erradas para osbreviver e sabem disso, e o que me conectou com eles foi que eles se arrependem e sentem remorso das coisas terriveis que eles fizeram para sobreviver. Quando a Ellie mata a Mel ela chega vomitar de arrependiment, quando matou a menina do Hospiotal ela conta para Dina com dor e remorso.

    A Abby matas os seus companheiros da WLF sem menor remorso, não ficou abalada com a morte do Lider Isac e muito memos a forma que ela matou o Joel, todos os amigos da Abby ficaram abalados com a forma que o Joel morreu, alguns tem até dificuldades em lhe dar com isso e comentam durante a gameplay. A Abby não ficou me arrependida em nenhum momento que no final quando a Ellie mandou ela ir embora ela nem disse nada, nem um desculpa. A Abby so não matou a Dina no teatro não porque ela sentiu pena, mas pq o Lev pediu

    Alem disso o Pai da Abby nem teve o senso em pensar de acordar a Ellie e explicar a situação da cirurgia e ver o que ela gostaria que fizesse, já queria passar a menina na faca e abrir a cabeça dela.

    A Fria da História é a Abby e não a Ellie. A Ellie deixou de matar a Abby por remorso, se fosse o contrario a Abby partiria a Ellie em dois.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I didnt wanted to write anything untill I complete game and now here I am after finishing it - I admit little late than most of gamers but I bought my console only recently.

    Anyway I like it and I dont like it. In techicall, graphic and gameplay terms its thumbs up definately since its a massive improvement but unfortunately thats where all good stuff ends. In terms of a storyline which was mere soul of a game its broken and shattered. Murdering Joel in a gruesome way isnt the only reason for my words. Of course like many across the world I was enraged with his early kill but as much as the game progressed later on I didnt felt angry but only like shallow, empty and out of the juice. I barely had strenght to finish it.
    Playing with Abby is iritating I agree but what angered me more is the attempt after attempt after attempt to humanise her and forced attempts and manipulation on us to sympathise with her actions. Quick and sloppy try with copy/paste friendship like Joel/Ellie was Abby/Lev but it wasnt convincing and we didnt took that bait.
    Abby had a reason to kill Joel cuz he killed her father you say ? That same Joel saved Abbie's life when she faced inevitable death and thats the great point how much of a monster is created inside that "girl" who almost looks like a guy with her physics.
    On the other side, with almost desperate attempt to convince us that Abby is a good person, they ruined Ellie's character by making her a ruthless murderous monster on a revenge rampage. We play with older Ellie and younger Ellie in flashbacks, we play with older Abby and younger Abby in flashbacks as well and il that confusion and multiphase storyline we have some short conversations with characters seriosly lacking conversation abilites.
    Specially in those criticall situations where Joel needs to explain what happened in hospitall or when they talk about making peace in the end. It was just left with "huh" in my head. If I were Joel or Ellie that conversation would last like half an hour or hour - in my opinion such criticall situations just CANT be solver in 2-3 sentences and just like "ok see you around". NO NO and NO !

    We have a war between big factions - WLF - Wolves which was Abby's faction and Scars or Seraphites where Lev used to belong. The way they were detailed was a positive also.

    And when finally an oportunity for clash between Abby and Eliie happened, it was just... dont kill Dina shes pragnant and than Abby was like- meh "dont ever let me see you again" and they just walk separate ways - at that point I didnt care what will happen to both of them. And after that completely unnesecery and pointless 2nd attempt after crippled Tommy instructed Ellie where was Abby last seen. She than left the peace at the farmland with her girlfriend Dina and baby she delivered, having a serious PTSD and nightmares from what happened in Seatle to again chase Abby who was captured by another (almost random) group of villains who appear at the very end with no reason or point at all.
    By the time Ellie gets there Abby looks miserable, skinny and left to die slowly tied high on a pillar, Lev also. Both of them ruined physically and mentally they do one last battle in which again illogically Ellie has a backpack full of guns and arms but she wants to fight like with a pocket knife with Abby... and at the end when she had oportunity to drown her in a water she had sudden call in from humanity and spared her. No word said no conversation, no nothing. She just left her and sent her away in "just go away" manner. And at the end of the game I felt empty, dissapointed, shallowed, wondering why the hell am I played it when nothing was solved or done ?
    The only message that made any sense in this whole mess of a story would be "revenge destroys everything and anyone on its path including the one doing it"
    And that was the only outcome I could see - Ellie destroyed both mentally emotionally and physically, Abby also devastated, destroyed in every way, and so are we - the people played this game. I personally felt drained, empty, kinda sad, and dissapointed after finishing the game.
    5 out of 10 was score "at best" which I could give for the game and mostly for tech/graph/gameplay elements. The rest is just much weaker than the first game and storyline shattered between past and present.
    Not a hate but for 7 years waiting it should be much more quality story and for 3rd sequal its enourmous pressure on creative team to regain the glory and shine from the 1st part. In my opinion game needs soft reset with both Ellie and Abby gone (killed off screen, semi-retired or just put in the drawer) with maybe some new fresh faces who will build up the story from the rubble. In this situation I see pulling off Ellie from the state she was in a difficult task and after huge mental breakdown and hard PTSD I dont see the reason for her going into action again.

    Interactivity, you see, is a boon and a curse. Audiences can be taught important lessons through media and art. But they're not supposed to feel patronized for decisions that are being made for them. By restricting the player's actions, pacing, and choices at critical moments (which I won't spoil) the suspension of disbelief is shattered and we just follow this dramatic narrative that often undermines its own ideas.

    It is difficult to justify any other criticisms regarding its story or pace without spoiling interested players, so I prefer to leave it at that. What's crucial here is realizing that games of this nature derive most if not all of their value in the strength and delivery of their narratives. So a failure here means catastrophe for such a piece.

    There are simply better, more engaging, and interesting shooters, survival horror games, and even zombie revenge stories out there.

    The presentation is superb, in every sense of the word. From audio engineering to accessibility options, the full playthrough is a sight-to-behold that even if impressive, never quite subverts expectations in a breath-taking way.

    The gameplay is basically an expanded and refined version of what was on offer before. More enemy variety, verticality and challenge better the experience. Pacing for these more "action-focused" sections is a bit worse though.

    The Last of Us - Part: II will always serve as an example of how not to take advantage of a medium to tell a story but it is otherwise an amazing looking game with gameplay refinements over a well-received first entry.

    A great game! Imo it's far better than the first part. The gameplay, as well as sound and music quality, is just amazing. Stelth is a lot more thought out. I think the real score for this one is 9, nevertheless I'm putting 10 because I'm sick of this hatred!

    Apart from great animations, character interactions, graphics, the game drags you through a realistic, crude world where pity is non existent. Personally, I think reality would not be far from this.
    Naughty dog slapped us in the face repeatedly during the story, and never in a kind way. Every loved character death (starting with the first, the most important) contributed to build up Ellie's character, and it's even more poignant when we see the final cut scene.
    The search for revenge, rage driven vendetta that consumes both the protagonists more and more during the story makes us see how their stories are just parallel lines.
    There is no right or wrong part: Joel, Ellie and Abby have light and dark aspects in their motivations, and that's what i loved the most.
    To me, the conclusion could not be anything else than what it is. Ellie, finally interrupting the circle of violence that Joel started in the first part. And finally, letting him go. I just loved it, a depressing, realistic
    masterpiece that make some bold plot decisions but works them all out in the end.
    Personally i see no use in the critiques to Joel's early death, yes it hurt, but it was necessary.
    About the critiques to Abby's appearance... I have no words for the ignorance of some people. If you want to play a game just to see hot chicks, play something else because this is not it. Also, her physique is not "on steroids". Women can be buff, especially contextualized to her role where she obviously trains a lot.
    And about the critique on Lev's character, I find them so stupid too. Making him a trans character doesn't ruin anything and if you have a problem with it for the simple reason he's part of LBGT then maybe you should try and be less of an ****
    If I have to find a flaw in the game I'd say that some parts of the game were a little bit tedious, but nothing that can make my opinion change.    … Expand

    I've heard all the negative reviews and can understand why some people are upset at the direction this game took but something drastic had to happen. Life isn't always peaches and cream and damn did this game hit me in the gut.
    It was a good pain though because it made me realise I love Joel that much more and he'll always be there in Part 1. Maybe we can have a prequel of the time Joel and Tommy were on their own or a sequel showing what happens after Abbey finds the Fireflies. Either way, this game is an amazing work of art.    … Expand

I was so relieved when Ellie pulled her head out of the water. The game did a great job at making you feel symphaty for Abby. The only reason it’s a 9 and not a 10 is personally, i thought some of the open areas (although beautiful and fun to play) slowed the game pace down a bit too much.     But here....the story is very shallow i tried my best to focus on the story to understand the characters and the story but in the end it's just bad writing
    The new characters are .....well couldn't feel a **** about them i enjoyed manny death and nora death..i couldn't feel anything for dina she was just talking about herself over and over and the teen drama pregnant thing

    Anyway. Anything you make is supposed to be enjoyable

Almost like a western, and the gory dark gameplay matches it perfectly, the second game though, it does has more obvious problems matching the constant killing with a revenge-story pointed at a single characher that ends in a sort of redemption story, even thoung both Abby and Ellie becomes mass murderers in the process

    I still give it a 9 bc its so extremely ambitious and it actually made me feel things no other game has made me feel, it was one of the closest things to experiencing great art I have experienced playing games.    … Expand

    The game is not for everyone and certainly not for those who did not play the first part. But if you liked the first TLOU, then this part will not leave you indifferent:)

You need to have something different for a sequel to be good.     This isn't as grounded of a narrative as the original's, but this is Naughty Dog's most ambiguous work; and I kind of love it.

    Joel dying was as poorly executed as it can get, imagine The walking dead games Lee, thats how you handle something like that.
    Also pushing modern politics THAT much into videogames, shouldnt be a thing, I dont mind it a bit but it was just too much in this game    … Expand

    So let's just address the elephant in the room from the outset. No the story isn't a dumpster fire and nor is it a masterpiece. As someone who thought the first story was good, the second is similar in that it is a okay story that is told somewhat competently. I can write paragraphs on why some of the common complaints I've heard aren't that big of a deal, but I'll digress for the sake ofSo let's just address the elephant in the room from the outset. No the story isn't a dumpster fire and nor is it a masterpiece. As someone who thought the first story was good, the second is similar in that it is a okay story that is told somewhat competently. I can write paragraphs on why some of the common complaints I've heard aren't that big of a deal, but I'll digress for the sake of conciseness. The main issue with the story is the pacing. There are huge swaths of gameplay inbetween the progression of the plot. The first game had the benefit of being about the relationship between Ellie and Joel, where the interactions between the two during gameplay is also plot relevant. Part two is about revenge, and while one could say that the plot is furthered by her slaughter of countless people just to get her revenge, this is a lot less compelling than watching a relationship develop in front of you. The former is more amorphous and harder to see the changes in her character. I know a lot of people like to think that the longer a game, the better it is because you are getting more entertainment for your money. But I think this game would have benefited if it cut content, such that it can tell a tighter story and not have gameplay slow the pacing of its narrative to a boring crawl. But the story takes risks, which I respect and the dialogue is well written. The characters do lack the charm that Ellie had in the first game, but they have a grounded like-ability to them. I can believe that these are real people and not just characters in a video game.

    On the gameplay side of things, it's very similar to the first game and boy do Naughty Dog know how to make engaging gameplay. The game makes sure that you are getting new weapons crafting recipes and enemy types to ensure that you aren't doing the exact same thing over and over. Couple that with the fact that the layout for each encounter is meaningfully different and you'd be hard pressed to get bored of the combat during its run. Contrary to the narrative, the gameplay justifies its length.

    All in all the story was okay. Maybe a 6/10 if I were to be more on the critical side. But it had a point to it and a message to say. They didn't make it to please everyone and if we want to say that games are art (as I believe) then that's okay. But the gameplay more than makes up for it. It is fun even if they apparently don't like to use that word.    … Expand

    It was the best game I played in my life, instead of writing an optimistic story like other companies, they wrote a story in a fearless way and adapted it to the game in the best possible way. It was a top game in every way, thanks to Naughty Dog for this unique adventure.

While there were a few genuinely good moments, majority of game filled up with plot holes. It just took elements of what worked for the first game without understanding what made them compelling.     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
