    Everyone want they're own ending and when they don't get it they mostly blame the game. I didn't expect anything that happened during my journey playing TLOU2. First time i played the game i was heartbroken from the ending but happy from how good the story actually was. TLOU2 changed my life forever exactly how TLOU1 did, but it wasn't perfect. it seems like the writers changed their mind along the process of making the game. i can't really say they made the right decision or not, but they didn't made a bad one for sure. They decided to end the revenge cycle after all. After all that saying that the game is not amazing is truly unfair.… Expand

    This game caused a lot of conflicting emotions, but in the end it left a good aftertaste.
    Yes, a lot was not as much as I would like to see it, but nevertheless, I experienced just a gigantic range of emotions during the passage, and this is probably worthy of applause.

    I used to be a big fan of this game and naughty dog as a kid. I played tlou 1 and fell in love with its characters. However, I am extremely disappointed in tlou 2. Im speaking of the story especially. One thing is for sure: I feel sympathy for those who spent $60 on this game.     The last of us part 2 tells a story that makes you feel every kind of emotions so deeply. Hate, love, sadness, happiness notions processed as perfect as first game. Amazing scenario aside gameplay and ambiance are awesome as well.

    Amazing game, looks great, plays great, sound great. I really like the story and characters, I was invested in both, Ellie and Abby and didnt want any of them to suffer. I like the way that the world is not black and white and every group is the "good one" in their eyes.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. After finishing The Last of Us for the first time, I could not wait for a sequel. It deserves it's 10/10 rating. The same cannot be said about this pile of garbage. Naughty dog thought it was a good idea to kill off Joel very early in the game. Not only do they kill him off, but they do it in such a hateful way. Naughty dog also thought it was a good idea to then make you play as the guy that killed her for what seems like half the game. When Ellie finally did catch up to him and is seconds away from the kill, naughty dog robs you of justice by letting him get away. The game leaves you with the desire to kill Joel's killer and they is unacceptable. Naughty dog also committed a violation by pushing their political agenda through this game. When I play a game, it's to escape reality and have fun. This game was not fun and it only made me think about the sjw agenda. Very poor experience. I no longer trust naughty dog and will not be giving them my money in the future.… Expand

    A unique, engaging story for a mature audience. An atmospheric world, refined film dialogues. animations at a very high level. amazing sound and ambient. pleasant control. Refined in every way. the only drawback that comes to mind is the strange steering of the boat and the slightly out-of-the-box episode on the island of Scars.

    One of the best games ever made. I often think about this game and how I wish I hadn't played it just so I could experience it again for the first time. Truly a horror masterpiece. The accusations of it being "woke" are nonsense. Wanted to leave a review as I was thinking about "review bombing," as that's the snowflake trend nowadays, and how unjustly this gem was treated.

    This is an epic ... purely the masterpiece of 2020 so far. Didn't rate until I have finished it once and the story is absolutely amazing and has a great plot, purpose, and life learning lessons

    TLoU 2 s'assume comme suite et continuité du scénario entamé tout en ne respectant pas la psychologie des personnages précédemment construite (car volonté de servir le thème de la spiral de la haine). On passe d'un grand jeu narratif en 2013 à une écriture frustrante et incohérente en 2020 :
    1/ Ellie était prête à se sacrifier pour sauver les humains -> elle tue désormais sans distinction    TLoU 2 s'assume comme suite et continuité du scénario entamé tout en ne respectant pas la psychologie des personnages précédemment construite (car volonté de servir le thème de la spiral de la haine). On passe d'un grand jeu narratif en 2013 à une écriture frustrante et incohérente en 2020 :
    1/ Ellie était prête à se sacrifier pour sauver les humains -> elle tue désormais sans distinction ni empathie des gens qui lui laissent la vie sauve.
    2/ Joel était prudent et extrêmement méfiant des autres survivants -> il fait désormais confiance aux premiers inconnus qu'il rencontre... a-t-il subitement oublié son vécu ?
    3/ Surabondance de flashbacks, de longueurs, de trous scénaristiques, qui cassent le rythme et rendent confuse la narration, soit les deux grandes forces du premier jeu !
    4/ La résolution de la contamination n’avance en rien, alors que l'atout de ce genre de jeu est justement de savoir entremêler la progression d'enjeux personnels avec celle de problématiques à grand échelle (par exemple Days Gone le fait très bien avec un héros qui à la fois cherche sa femme et espionne des scientifiques menant des recherches sur les infectés).
    5/ Trop de "casual talk" là où il pourrait y avoir des propos intéressants et profonds sur le contexte.
    Pour le reste, l’infiltration, le tir, et plus encore l’intelligence artificielle sont des éléments particulièrement réussis d'un jeu qui reste trop fermé dans ses environnements pour en exploiter le plein potentiel.    … Expand

    El juego es excelente pero muchas personas lo consideran como malo solo por ciertos elementos forzados como lo es la inclusión LGBT además de que la historia no fue comprendida hasta un tiempo después ya que mucha gente cree que solo trata de una búsqueda desesperada de venganza pero este representa las 5 etapas del duelo y las consecuencias de la mala reacción y al humanizar alEl juego es excelente pero muchas personas lo consideran como malo solo por ciertos elementos forzados como lo es la inclusión LGBT además de que la historia no fue comprendida hasta un tiempo después ya que mucha gente cree que solo trata de una búsqueda desesperada de venganza pero este representa las 5 etapas del duelo y las consecuencias de la mala reacción y al humanizar al antagonista(abby) solo logra ponerte en un punto medio entre quien debería de salir vivo en este caso por lo que al analizar todos los puntos este juego es excelente ya que tiene una historia aparentemente simple pero muy buena y compleja además de una muy buena jugabilidad variedad de escenarios además de la narrativa excelente en mi opinión vale completamente la pena solo tuvo un mal recibimiento por los possers y por que este juego fue incomprendido para mi es un 10/10… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I went in to The Last of Us 2 expecting nothing, yet still I am left disappointed and feeling empty.

    TLoU2 attempts to say a whole lot, but ends up saying nothing new, meaningful or emotionally resonant. The entire concept of "the cycle of revenge is bad" is not new or profound, yet can be still be told well, this game however, does not tell that story well. When the game drops the meaningless BS about revenge it really shines, I like pretty much every character here, even Abby. Abby, Lev, Ellie, Dina, Jesse, they all enhance this game tenfold, but unfortunately much of Abby's story is spent trying to force you to like her, rather than letting it happen naturally. Having you play with Alice the dog as Abby but forcing you to kill her as Ellie, making Abby's dad some paragon who helps zebras and loves his daughter, and wow everybody loves him so much, it feels forced and unnatural. When Abby is left with Lev, a young boy she befriends, she's great, their chemistry is amazing and it's the closest the game ever gets to feeling like The Last of Us again, but it is a relatively short part of the experience. Jesse unceremoniously killed in a blink and you'll miss it scene, and it kinda sucks, Dina is sidelined HARD and rarely gets to be a character again afterwards, Tommy is also there but hardly interacts with Ellie outside of the start and end, where he's turned into a jaded c*nt, oh boy, thanks game, it's not enough that you killed the characters I liked, you gotta f*ck up one of the only ones you left alive, cool, great, thanks. Then there's Ellie, she starts off strong, her chemistry with everybody is great, Dina, Jesse... Joel... But it's all either cut short or underutilized to a depressing degree but by the end, she makes two of the most bafflingly stupid decisions and choses to not only abandon everything she has with Dina and their kid J.J, which I believe is Jesse Jr. though I don't think it's ever explicitly stated, to travel to Santa f*cking Barbara, to kill Abby, but also chooses to not even kill her at the end, so Ellie is left with literally nothing, Joel is gone, Dina and the baby are gone, Jessie is gone, Tommy sucks and she can't play the guitar anymore because Abby bit her fingers off. It's just misery porn by the end, and it's not even good misery porn, it's just deflating and frustrating. I didn't want Abby to die, I like Abby, **** it makes no sense for Ellie to let her live after she's carved through countless WLF members, Scars and Rattlers not 10 goddamn minutes ago.

    The game also fails miserably to use the fact it's a video game to it's advantage at all. Like I said earlier the theme of "Revenge bad" is not new or profound, but can be told well, and TLoU2 had a golden opportunity to use it's medium and the interactivity that comes with it to make it profound, yet it doesn't. The one time it does do this is with a dog named Bear. You can kill Bear as Ellie, though it is not required, it's a choice you the player must make, and later as Abby, you can play with Bear, again, you don't have to. So both times you interact with Bear are optional, and it's great. I did kill Bear and I felt awful about it because for ONCE the game used my choices as the player to make me feel bad and it worked amazingly, so why does it never do this again? It gives enemy NPC's names now and they're rarely repeated, except for the Scars, I heard the name "Angel" like 5 times, but for the WLF, I don't think I ever encountered duplicate names, but it never talks about "Jeff" who got his face blown off by some chick with a tattoo, not once, not ever, it only tries to guilt trip you about things out of your control, which fails because it wasn't my choice to stab Mel and kill her and her unborn child, it was Ellies, I didn't do that, so why should I feel bad? The game fails to give you reason to regret your actions more than once because every action it tries to make you regret, was not your action, it was the games.

    The gameplay is actually pretty good, it's really fun so at least the game is fun, which is one of the most important aspects in my opinion. Gunplay is brutal and satisfying, you can clean house with Ellie's shotgun and at times you feel unstoppable, the gore is suitably disgusting and graphic, and had me stop a few times to just stare in morbid fascination with how well this dudes brain designed. Graphically the game is a technical marvel, it's jaw-dropping, I just wish we didn't have to resort to crunch to get there.

    In conclusion, TLoU2 is not without merit, but I think the bad far outweighs the good with a bad story, disappointing characters and some downright awful character assassination for both Ellie and Joel. To sum things up: I'm not mad, just disappointed.    … Expand

    Como experiencia personal y como fan de la primera entrega me ha parecido un gran juego con una historia madura y arriesgada que no intenta agradar a nadie. Es un juego que para mi fue fuerte y en lo personal es el único que me ha sacado lagrimas en todo este tiempo que llevo jugando y creo que muchos sabrán de que parte en especifico fue la que provocó esa situación. Durante este juego tuve diferentes sensaciones como nunca había experimentado con otro juego, tuve odio, rabia, paz y nostalgia, es un gran videojuego pero crudo y si eres fan del primero como yo hay partes que te harán odiar de formas inigualables.
    cosas que no me terminaron de gustar:
    Las cosas que me han chocado bastante, bueno cosas que en momentos me daban ganas de dejar el videojuego, una fue controlar a abby a mi en lo personal fue lo más pesado del juego y debo aclarar que no odio el personaje simplemente no llegue a empatizar con este durante las horas que se conto su historia y el juego se ve que busca que empatices con ella y yo no lo logre. Para mi hubiera sido épico jugar el juego casi en su totalidad con ellie y creo que eso igual me hizo no tener empatía con abby y bueno la parte del teatro en el enfrentamiento de abby y ellie fue donde casi tiro el mando contra el piso, la verdad para mi fue una de las peores partes y de las que mas me costó aceptar jugarla.
    Cosas que me gustaron en esta entrega:
    Me gusto que los personajes se sintieran tan humanos, tanto los protagonistas como los enemigos, esos momentos donde gritaban el nombre del compañero muerto o cuando te maldecían por matar a su perro es genial. Es un juego con unos detalles brutales, me encanta como cuida cada detalle desde el mundo que te rodea hasta las peleas con enemigos, los enemigos sienten la muerte de un compañero, desmembramientos, la sangre hace que la nieve se derrita… es demencial el nivel de detalle. El gameplay en comparación al primero ha mejorado bastante, si antes tenías muchas posibilidades de como acabar con los enemigos en esta entrega se multiplican las formas de acabar ya sean infectado o humanos.
    Gráficos: para mi el techo grafico en ps4, es un juego visualmente hermoso es casi increíble que lo mueva una ps4 fat.
    Jugabilidad: impresionante, fluida y con grandes posibilidades para realizar las zonas de diversas formas.
    Historia: una historia atrevida y madura que puede gustar o no, pero siendo una buena historia donde todo tiene un sentido y que no busca agradar a nadie.
    Y para acabar yo recomiendo el juego siempre y cuando tengas una mente abierta y no seas una persona cerrada como hasta hoy ha demostrado ser una gran parte de la comunidad, niños llorones que hacen una pataleta por que nos le gusto una parte de la historia o por que hay un personaje gay en el juego y van diciendo que son fans del primero, que por cierto es lo que más me hace gracia por que los que de verdad somos fan de the last of us sabíamos que ellie era gay desde el primer juego y eso no nos importó. Entiendo que si hay gente que no se le gusto la historia y mientras tenga argumentos es respetable y debe mantenerse firme en ese punto pues como dije la historia de juego no pretende ser agradable ni con los fans yo mismo estuve muy cabreado en ciertos puntos de la historia.

    This game is terrible. Rehashed part 1 but with Ellie instead of Joel, the trouble is there is no emotional connection to Abby like there was with Joel and Sarah. Lazy story, below parr graphics and not worthy of being connected to the first game. How sad it is to be so disappointed by a game you have waited 7 years for. Do everyone a favour and at least release some Joel DLC

    Хм, может плохой сюжет? Да нет, он как раз таки интересен и реалистичен.
    Плохая графика, проблемы со светом? Тоже нет.

    ААААА, наверно убийство одного из ключевых персонажей самой игры в самом её начале для создания должной мотивации у главной героини и дальнейшего развития повествования?
    Определённо да! Ненавижу Naughty Dog.
    Больше чем уверен, что половина индивидов, понаставивших 0 даже не играли и 5 часов в эту игру, что уж говорить о полном прохождении.

    The plot and direction got the most critics. The way Naughty Dog dealt with gender fluidity, revenge and post-apocalyptic action consequences is worth of detailed attention.
    Pacing is not excellent, as the game is riddled with many cutscenes that break the rhythm, but the payoff is amazing as they tackle a story that puts the two protagonists on the same level. Something that was never really achieve in the industry up to that point. The story is well written, and even if not rendered in the best way possible, still needs recognition for the intimacy it creates with players. This is a game that needs to be played beyond the harsh critics it initially raised. Because those were overreactions. Do not react, play. Do not judge, enjoy. You won't be let down.    … Expand

The settings of the game are not only visually stunning but work perfectly with the story they are supposed to be a part of, it truly locks you in a makes you feel as if you are actually there. The story is one that brings all the emotions into play throughout it, joy, humour, rage, sadness, etc. While it is not a story that everyone appreciates due to their own opinions if you are able to appreciate great storytelling and set aside what path you had envisioned the story to take then you will truly love the story of this game the same way that I and so many others have.
    Overall for me, the perfect game with no complaints about it. I laughed, I cried, I sat and admired the beautiful world that I had been put into. I think the game got review bombed heavily since Joel dies right of the bat and after that no one gave it a chance including me but know I’ve played the game I can still see flaws but overall I really like the last of us 2. I think the whole playing the villain aka Abby was something good that you don’t see in other games and when I started playing as her I still hated her but when characters like lev come into play it makes you like Abby and actually give a **** about her which leaves you so torn when it gets to the fight between Ellie and Abby you don’t want anyone to die but you understand they have to and when Abby spares Ellie it just makes her more human and shows how Ellie has become a bad Pearson due to revenge. Also one of the most powerful scenes is when Tommy comes to the house to try and guilt Ellie into tracking abby which just leaves you feeling sorry for him because of how what’s happens to him has ruined him physically and emotionally. I also think the ending of the game really does drive home this idea of revenge isn’t good which seems abit expected tbh but the fact Ellie is left unable to play the guitar Joel gave her is so powerful because it shows that everything wasn’t worth it because not only is everyone destroyed by what happens know what she was keeping Joel’s memory alive with can’t be done and it just leaves you emotional. So yeah the last of us 2 is a good game and is definitely worth giving a chance(sorry this is abit of a wonky review it’s my first attempt of writing one)… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The most intense Video game I ever played. I loved it for that. I can't say whether I like the first or second part more. They were just so different. The first part had this funny moments and this great story of Joel and Ellie and their relationship. The second one was not rewarding in that sense. It was dark, cruel and made you feel miserable. It was so tough to watch Joel die and even harder to see how their relationship was getting worse towards the end (since Ellie realized he lied about the fireflies).
    It was also so hard to start playing Abby (a character you want to see dead after torturing and killing Joel). I couldn't really appreciate the gameplay at this moment, since I just didn't want to play the last 4 days again as Abby. I had to know what will happen to Ellie in the theatre, and the 10 hour of Abby gameplay was just "in the way", always wondering if you would have to kill Ellie in the end. Now after finishing the game and knowing everything, these 10 hours were good, the story was good, the characters were interesting, he scenery was epic and Abby started to look less and less like a monster. It's just at the time of playing you can't appreciate it , you just want to know what happens in this theatre.

    In the end you can understand Abby somewhat, but still I couldn't really relate to her or find her likable. But personally I really liked the end. I think Ellie realized that Abby is to Lev what Joel was to her and so she didn't kill her.

    One thing I really missed in the sequel is Ellie's humorous character. Unfortunately she (the writers) totally missed this. This would have been important for me since the story and atmosphere is anyways so incredible dark, that would have lightened the mood a little.

    To conclude this: The last of us Part 2 is an absolute Masterpiece for me, but also mentally one of the most difficult games ever. I can't remember that a game ever made me think that much. The feelings this game generates are just immense, and it is really hard to handle them at times.    … Expand

The first game really seemed like a passion project from the devs, but they really threw that in the garbage in the second one. Not only does the plot suck doodoo ass, the graphics are terrible, none of the characters look the same as they do in the trailer. Naughty dog clearly lied to us. And on top of that they are clearly trying to force the LGBTQIA+/liberal agenda. The worst offense is that the main character is GAY.     Graphics are good but I found this game to be a disappointment. I wish I never pre ordered and this is the last time I ever will pre order. The story is poorly paced and I found it difficult to find the characters likable in any way given what happens early in the plot with some main characters.

    Ultimately, I purchased the game because of the relationship between Ellie and Joel. The marketing intentionally misled us and made it appear that the game was going to be exactly that but it was the opposite.

Every step forward in this game's narrative confirmed my greatest fear: that not only did a sequel never need to exist, but that making one had the very real potential to harm the legacy of two characters we all grew to love over the course of the first game. Worse still, we were sold a false bill of goods. Every advert we saw and every word out of Naughty Dog's mouth told us that we would be going on another journey with Ellie and Joel. We did no such thing. Instead we were treated to Ellie and Joel being brutalized and tossed aside so that Naughty Dog could force upon us a new protagonist that none of us wanted or cared about. The utter contempt with which Naughty Dog treated its own beloved characters and the dishonest way in which they've dealt with the fandom override any and all of the good qualities this game has. What score could I possibly give a game that seemingly exists for no other reason than to trash what I love and spit in my face except zero?     This game is a mess, it wants to be unpredictable at the cost of stupid acts. The gameplay and graphics are decent, but the narrative is what totally destroys the experience, from the prologue you can see how they dispose of one of the important characters from the first game in such a horrendous way and the supposed lesson Ellie learns in the ending doesn't make any sense.

    Disturbing AND disgusting LGBT represention in the main cast in a **** 25 year old post apocalyptic world where 90 - 95% of the population is long dead, so of course the cast should be super disproportionate in favor of LGBT freaks. Most males are killed off and all White males are made to be weakling losers.
    Joel dies.
    That right there is all that needs to be said to make this game a disaster.

    Last of us is one of the best games I've ever played. You can really understand the whole dilemma and the power of the plot of the second part only at the end, therefore, despite all the hatred for Abby, I advise you to go through the game to the end.

    Good picture on old 2016 hardware. Disgusting plot. Drama in the original Last of Us pinched my heart, I bought PS3 for it, bought PS4 to play again remastered original game years after. But "Part II" is a totally garbage and waist my time. Is that all you can do now Naughty Dog? Pfff.

    It is not enjoyable or entertaining.. The characters are unlikable. I couldn’t care less what happened to them. The story telling is clumsy/poor. The LGBTQ+ characters are just caricatures. There isn’t any real depth either. The game just piles misery upon misery and only showcases the worst in humanity. Without any subtlety or balance. Naughty Dog TRIED to be shocking, and challenging and deep. And failed. They just indulged in a debauchery of torture for no real reason other than the shock factor. Its unsubtle and crude. Did playing the game change me? Will it leave a lasting impact? No. It’s going straight into the bin. Naughty Dog took what should have been a homerun and managed to fail. Such a shame!
    I am a massive fan of the first game and it pains me to write this. But anything other than what I wrote would have been a lie.

    I really hated about the game is how it completely forgot it was set during an outbreak/apocalypse. Now it looks like teenage drama. It doesn’t make sense that Abby’s group would just let her drag them along across the country for some petty revenge, it’s a waste of resources and manpower. Ellie and Dina living on a farmhouse towards the end of the game is so unrealistic and retarded, like why, after experiencing so many traumatic things, would Ellie accept living in a vulnerable location instead of the safe walls of Tommy’s town? It just feels like they were trying too hard to make Ellie and Dina some sort of single family, it was honestly cringe. And am I supposed to believe Dina just left the farmhouse at the end of the game, while carrying her very unreliable and needy baby? There is absolutely no indication that the outbreak got any better since the first game so I’m not sure why everyone acts like it’s a teen drama in this game. Why does Joel and Tommy save abbys group at absolutely no reward of their own? Why is Mel 8 month pregnant and still running around fighting like a dumbass? So **** dumb.    … Expand
