Game tecnicamente absurdo, gráficos e jogabilidade, mutos bons.

I loved every second of it. This game made me feel a plethora of emotions which I still think about and analyze. This is what I need from modern gaming. I feel bad for people who genuinely did not enjoy the game, but I am sure many simply decided they would not like it no matter what and thus ruined the entire experience and meaning of the game for themselves (which is a huge shame). 10/10I loved every second of it. Even if I despised the story, the gameplay is so phenomenal it would probably rank at an 8 at least. Encounters are filled with dozens of enemies spanning across entire streets of buildings, lining rooftops, searching rooms. Avoiding detection isn’t impossible but certainly difficult, and once you’re spotted the game turns into a desperate game of wits and survival, where you’re forced to make the saving shot, saving dodge, saving throw with an inch of health or one bullet left.... over and over and over again. This is one of the only games I’ve played where my character’s exhaustion mirrored my own. The fights are long, difficult, stressful, and mentally taxing. It’s the best depiction I’ve ever seen of one person fighting insurmountable odds in a video game, ever. The story is beyond incredible as well, provided you have the emotional maturity for it. Characters you love and connect to will die in brutal, unfair ways completely out of your control. Characters will make decisions you wish they wouldn’t, and consequences for previous actions, whether they were justified or not, inevitably make their ways to the characters with zero remorse. It’s a hard thing to watch, but the story is one that will stick with me for the rest of my life. Overall, the complaints I have are minute compared to the praises. There are certain plot points that feel rushed, or things that could have been explained more fully. But they won’t hinder the absolute **** 20+ hour experience that is The Last of Us 2. There is nothing like this game and I doubt there ever will be again. Don’t let the haters ruin this for you, try it out yourself! Expand

Great game. Graphics, atmosphere, part processing - everything is fine
Only one problem - very incomprehensible plot. you do not have time to think about what happened, and something else is happening. Many plot holes.
At some point I thought: Why do you need it? Why go there? In general, what the f*ck?
This absurdity of some events is very confusing and discourages the desire to play on

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Some positives but the game was rarely enjoyable - And not for the reason being publicised (joels death).

In of itself killing off the previous games main character isn't the worst decision in the world. However, the story line and forced nature of the plot when it comes to 'educating' the audience on the rights & wrongs of revenge, and the morality behind why we should be inclusive borders on ridiculous / boring.

A character from the 1st game (tommy) had a ton of potential to be further explored, but was rarely seen. When he was on screen tended to be portrayed as wrong in any given circumstance, and generally unimportant - The same could be said for new character jesse, who it also seemed had a ton of potential but was miss-used.

The introduction of Abby as a playable character is an interesting concept, but in execution was awful (imho). It killed the narrative structure (both times) JUST as I thought the story might be recapturing the intensity and emotion of the 1st game. The voice actor did a decent job but her characters dialogue & attitude did nothing to make me warm to her.

When it comes to gameplay the introduction of being able to crawl helps to improve stealth mechanics, as does the ability to jump for escaping certain situations. Other than this the gameplay felt identical to the 1st game - my one sore spot when it came to the last of us 1, as it is far too 'clunky' specifically when shooting & swapping weapons etc.

The selection of weapons on offer, as well as the shooting mechanic itself is extremely lackluster. Ammo is scarce to the point you are lucky if you have enough to win a skirmish without running laps around the map to regain a stealthy position - Its then Rinse and repeat with another 4-6 bullets.

Stealth kills are enjoyable and gritty as ever, on both the living and the dead, which brings me to my next point.

The most enjoyable fight was playing as abby in the hospital when you are confronted with a ridiculous bloater in an enclosed, but free flowing underground space - MORE OF THIS IS NEEDED. All in all there were some okay gameplay, and fantastic graphical improvements compared to the last of us 1, but when it comes to the general storyline and narrative choices i fail to think of a bigger disappointment.

Sometimes good, but never great - 4/10. In case I'm being overly critical here are some ratings I'd give other games:

    The last of us 1 - 9/10
    Days gone - 7.5/10
    Rdr2 - 9.5/10
    Gta 5 - 8.5 /10
    Horizon zero dawn - 8/10
    Dying light - 7 /10
    Far cry 5 - 6.5/10
    Far cry 4 - 7.5/10g

No matter if you liked the story or not, the technical aspects (graphics, visuals and animations) are mind-blowing, the atmosphere is amazing (some parts of the game are outright terrifying), the environments feel as real as technology enables, the gameplay is fun and intense and i don't think theres much to say about Gustavo Santaolalla's fantastic soundtrack.

One can argue about taste, but to call this well-crafted piece of entertainment garbage or rating it anywhere below 4 or 5 just boggles my mind, especially considering how modern mainstream gaming is overshadowed by big companies producing stale and repetitive games over and over again and just changing the name tag (miraculously getting better user ratings than this).

All things aside, the story is extremely dark, violent and ruthless and i deeply admire Naughty Dog for taking a rather unconventional path. It just seems as if most people were upset about the first 5 hours and didn't even try to experience the game with an open mind, let alone try to take a somewhat objective stance on what the developers were trying to convey. People who dismiss the game as just another dull revenge story seemed to miss that it's much more than that. The story deals with guilt, regret and forgiveness, and more often than not kept me thinking about certain values in life. The game does a great job on making you feel that sweet pain, slowly burning and getting more intense up until the point the credits roll around 35 hours later (on hard difficulty - highly recommended). It really feels like a maturation process for Ellie.

The game has an unusual tension arc and often relies on flashbacks (probably the best scenes of the game), but as the story goes on, you will really appreciate what the game is trying to make you feel, considering you want to feel it. It also does a great job on expanding the TLOU-universe and creating some interesting new perspectives. In my opinion, the characters motives are reasonable and the legacy of the first game is carried on with dignity. I love games that stick to me even after the credits roll and TLOU 2 did just that. I just needed to get that off my chest after seeing how divided the reactions were. I'm glad to call it one of my favorite games on PS4, right behind the remastered version of the first game.

Graphics are great, but not enough to save the game and it's poorly written story and characters. Why was there so much ammo in every drawer, but so limited space in the massive rucksack!? Never felt pressured to use ammo sparingly like in the first game, and couldnt shake off the feeling that the game was doing all it could to make me dislike Ellie (which I couldn't) and like Abbey (which I couldn't). The more they tried, the less I did. An insult to the intelligence of the customer. Disappointing to see Naughty Dog use the vile abuse from a minority to distract from the fact that the game is a major let down to the loyal fan base of the original. Instead of admitting "We made mistakes", siege mentality very much instilled. And as for industry "professional" critic reviews, very much to be taken with a bowl of salt. I think it's a mixture of getting caught up in the hype, being scared to lose early access, but user reviews are generally more reliable anyway. Expand

O jogo que mais me proporcionou experiências, que mais me colocou em imersão, que conseguiu fazer eu me sentir culpado pelas minhas próprias decisões. Sem dúvidas The Last Of Us 2 vai ficar na história.

However for me this game is an extraordinary follow up to the original. It takes the fundamental question that the original left you wrestling with - the morality of Joel’s decision and actions to save Ellie at the cost of so many others - and let’s the player unpack it alongside Ellie across a tumultuous revenge tale. It’s thematically consistent with the original but looks at the same themes through the lens of new characters that will shock when they’re introduced by warm your heart - if your open to them - by the end. It is in effect anti-fan service, and given that I do understand why so many who love the first game might have trouble stomaching this one. Games are subjective, and this game takes some very deliberate risks that are certain to put off some people.

Apart from the narrative, this game has gifted us with one of the most amazing survival horror/stealth action gameplay sandboxes of all time. I was not a particular fan of the gameplay in the first game, but this game truly took all of the potential of the first one and maximized it in ways that kept me glued to the screen my entire play through.

This game uses its gameplay to service the story and themes in ways I’ve not sure I’ve seen before on this scale. It will always be divisive, but it will always go down for me is a masterpiece.

After being a huge fan of the first game I was eager to play the second to say the least, Ellie and Joel are two of my favourite characters from any game and I know tlou2 has had a lot of criticism but for me personally I loved the game from start to finish, the gameplay is perfection and effortless, each chapter of the story offers you something slightly different and your surroundings are magnificently done with even fine details not being missed. Yes some of the story frustrated me to a point that I rushed through some of it just to get back to Ellie but by the time I completed it I fully understood why they made me play through as Abby and the final fight had me rooting for both characters ( im still team Ellie) and not to mention the infected are still as intense and combat with the different groups is very fun, each group giving you a different challenge. So yes the first game was amazing! This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Graphics:
Days gone and death stranding were both were beautiful and detailed. The last of us 2 is easily on par with these games if not exceeding them. An extensive amount of detail on all the scenery, facial expressions are unreal, interaction with the environment (footsteps on sand and snow, walking through grass) was brilliant including the fire and water.

    Sound:
From knocking something onto the floor, smashing glass, the ai interactions, shooting, voice acting and many more instances of how the sound in this game was able to capture the real sounds in an environment was stunning.

    Game play:
Those complaining about the game play being the same as the previous and not improving it has got me baffled. Were they expecting it to become a first person shooter? For there to be magic spells introduced? or what? It's crazy to have a go at the game play because they think every game should be completely different to previous title. Do people go into the next call of duty and get upset when the game play is still the same, of course not, these people are grasping at straws.
The other issue people have is the supposed repetitiveness (get through enemies/infected to get to a cut scene and repeat). Again this is nonsense. If you break down any game including the first TLOU you can make it sound boring and repetitive. In the first one you either avoid/kill infected and other people and then move to the next part, then repeat until you hit a cut scene then it starts again.... see??? Any first person shooter is kill people, get to a cut scene then repeat for 20 hours, so it is a ridiculous complaint when you are ignoring all the things that ARE involved. So that being said this game has a lot of variety. Heaps of different weapons, riding through live action environments while shooting, driving through environments, stealth scenes, small puzzles, boss fights, exploring and collecting resources, shooting off limbs and blowing up bodies, and the best part of this game is the melee fighting which contains heaps of different combinations of how to kill an enemy in gruesome ways. You can pull faces in a mirror while playing as Ellie which was entertaining. I also recommend playing the game on normal or easy since it will definitely help open up the game so you don't have to stealth kill everyone which enables you to use your weapons and enjoy the melee combat.

    the infamous story:
Ill address the first issue people have in regards to Joel dying and how he got in that situation. It is definitely believable (no matter what people say). One, he is human and could have just made a mistake but it is clear Joel has mellowed since being with Ellie, they were stuck in a storm with hundreds of infected around and he just saved Abbey's life (it also clear how they bumped into each other. On a flashback she mentioned that she had a lead on Tommy so she was always going to be in the vicinity of Joel). Now he just saved her life and was stuck with very little options since there was a storm and the amount of infected around. Either he stays there and dies or he trusts THE PERSON HE SAVED, so he goes with her. As for them stating their names, they only said their first names and had no reason not to at least say that much because of the circumstance they were in (I'm of the belief that Abbey knew who they were straight away anyway). If Abbey just shot him when his back was turned after being rescued, would the complainers be content since that doesn't hinder joel's "survival character aspects", of course not. They're just pissed that what THEY would do and what the game does is different (ending included). Now him getting killed in such brutal fashion was again understandable, were people expecting him to to get a 21 gun salute and some sort of posh death? come on.... its an apocalyptic world and Abbey just spent 4 years looking for the one who killed her father, destroyed the fireflies and the cure for humanity.

No agenda: Ellie being a lesbian (clear from dlc so no surprise), only one mention of bigot, Abbey wasn't trans but lev didn't need to be a girl trying to be a boy i'll say that and the sex scenes didn't add anything to the game.

The revenge story makes total sense as well. Joel protected Ellie like a father so no issues with his actions but there are consequences when you kill innocent people and doom humanity.

Ending makes total sense and those who say Ellie killed everyone to get to the end, most of the killing was in self defence when trying to get info on abbey.
    Reasons she Didnt kill for:
    1. Realised her and abbey are doing exactly the same thing so they are more alike then she thought.
    2. Even if she killed abbey, Joel will still be gone
    3. Abbey let Ellie live TWICE including DINA when she could have killed her to get even with how Mel died.
    4. Joel actually deserved what he got cause if the roles were switched Ellie would be hunting Joel as well
    5. Forgiving Abby was her way of forgiving Joel

The game relays on a lot of coincidences, like when you play as Abby at the beginning of the game and she gets swarmed with zombies, for some reason Joel, who was in a sheltered place, decided to go out there and help her, maybe the time he has spent with Ellie has soften him up, but then he goes to her place, full with her friends, without even investigating first why would she try to help a complete strange out, and the he gives her his name! which lead to his death. it felt like a cheap way to get the story rolling. the game has a lot of situations where it relays on these kinds of coincidences, but other than the story, everything else is near perfect.

OK. I absolutely loved TLoU Part 1 and was really looking forward to sequel. Got my hopes crushed!

Gameplay: more or less the same as the first part. Yes, they added a few details here and there, but it's not game changing. It's not why you play the game anyway. It's bearable, though sluggish controls don't make it easy. To be fair, sluggish controls are there for the most of 3rd/1st person console games.
Graphics: awesome. It's one of the best-looking games out there. Landscapes are breath-taking, animations are realistic.
Music: great. Not as atmospheric as the first part, but still very decent.
Story: pure, absolute **** It's not that the game gets hatred for LGBT characters, no. Or Abby's appearances. It's because:
    1. Joel gets killed in the first few hours in the game in a very cruel way by a nobody. Which he helped to survive. Which, for some reason, he starts to trust enough just to end up in a trap with her whole group. Joel. The guy you (I) invested in 3 playthroughs of TLoU, the guy that survived a metal fitting through his stomach, dies by hand of a nobody. Snap!
    2. Ellie loses her father-figure and is out for revenge, whatever it takes, she's willing to put everything on the line.
    3. Ellie is fierce, cruel and determined. She's like an icebreaker, doesn't much but her ultimate target. Just goes forward killing everything that stands in between her and that nobody.
    4. Just at the point where it all may end, you're forced to spend 10 hours exploring the nobody that killed your beloved character. The simple fact you're playing as Abby makes you puke, as you cannot possibly justify her actions - she has no backstory at all at this point.
    5. Yeah, Joel killed her father. Yeah, he had it coming. No, it's not enough to sympathize Abby.
    6. You get a bit of Abby's backstory with bleak supporting characters. Some of it just directed at making you emotional. You as Abby have to play with a dog that already know you as Ellie will kill in a couple of game-days.
    7. ...and it still doesn't make you sympathize with Abby. Even the fact she changes her mind about two innocent kids that belong to a rival faction, which she's supposed to kill on sight, doesn't help.
    8. When Abby confronts Ellie, you just want to break your controller in order not to hurt the character you've spent the whole first part, and the half of the second part. Do you have any choice? Nope.
    9. Fast-forward a few months, Ellie, having escaped death's hands in form of Abby, is having quiet, happy life. Wait, did I say happy? Sorry, nope, she still has flashbacks on Joel's death. She's still willing to put everything on the line, including her partner and their child to kill Abby. Determination!
    10. So she spends months to travel to California. And she's very set to get her revenge.
    11. She kills like 50 people to get to Abby in the last hour. Who knows how many has she killed before.
    12. When she gets to Abby, she just unties her and walks her to boats to escape. Is she letting her go? Looks like it...
    13. Nope, she has another flashback and she decides to get the revenge finally!
    14. Nope, after her two fingers are bitten off, she has ANOTHER flashback and lets Abby go. All determination is thrown out of the window.
    15. The great return: Ellie didn't get her revenge, lost her partner, her child, lost her quiet life, worsened her relationships with Tommy, and lost the ability to play the guitar. So she ditches the guitar and goes off wandering.
The message: Revenge is bad, mmmkay?

Unlikable characters, plot that sometimes doesn't make sense, desperate tricks to make you emotional and total failure to get the player to sympathize anyone but Ellie.

During the second part of the game, I lowered the difficulty to novice just to make Abby rush through the plot.

Ellie's decisions are driven by flashbacks.

    No, I won't replay this.

Yes, the game is not perfect, but it deserves at least 7-8 points. It’s interesting to re-run the game a second time, it’s very good and I’m sure that if the third part is announced and the Naughty dog takes into account the mistakes of the last game, then it is the best game of the year. Now the game lacks random events that can happen to the hero during the game, it can be cheaters who ask for help (as in 1 game) or the person really needs help and you can take him into the squad, cold, energy from the character and help allies in the city, the choice that does not affect the plot, but only on the perception of the game. Remove trash bins, fill the card since they made it so big and not make story holes, if only the hero survived for further decoupling. In the third part, developers need to touch on how I consider the value of friendship and caring for each other and then the game will come out even better! 10/10 Expand

Its the most constant and powerful forces out there. Naughty dog could have played it safe with the same character dynamics as part 1, and perhaps continue with Ellie knowing Joel's lie, embark into a new journey and get closer to a cure. But no, the director has the balls to challenge our expectations, which I highly appreciate. Overall, I think the wait for the experience is worth it. It trancends games into movie like storytelling. I hope gamers wont be turned off by its bleak story because I think its an artistic choice and part 3 would be the catharsis on Ellie's character. Expand

This video game let's you experience it all: dread, grief, hatred, anger, confusion but also love, affection empathy, hope. It is perfect and in my opinion truly a masterpiece. It is more than just a game but rather a piece of art. It has lifted the art of video game storytelling to a completely new level that I believe will inform the industry for years to come.

Let me go through the relevant aspects one by one.

Story: Simply stunning. Obviously the story is what drives this game. Never before have there been so many plot twists and moments where I was like...."WTH IS HAPPENING."...and completely surprised and moved. I was among the lucky ones to not have experienced any spoilers before release, so I was completely blown away be the story. But even if you did experience some spoilers, I still believe that the game is worth your time. You need to experience it yourself in order to fully understand the power of the story and the chraracters' progressions and development. Never has a game succeeded this perfectly at making you identify and empathize with the main characters and relive their feelings this intensely. The fact that I, as a 30 year old who has consumed quite a large amount of media and literary content, have been dreaming of this game every night for almost two weeks, is testament to how well the game manages to draw you into its world. This never happened to me before.

Addressing the critics: The large amount of negative reviews is clearly due to review bombing. Unfortunately, our gaming culture has a problem with a large and very vocal minority of bigoted, mostly male player who are not open enough to identify with women or LGBT+ characters. They simply can't get over the fact that after 40 years the gaming industry is finally ready to tell stories of people other than white, western men. Hence, these reviews are to a large extent driven by misogyny and homo- and transphobia.

I assure you that if you keep an open mind and truly care about the characters, which you will, if you enjoyed part 1 and aren't a total sociopath, the story will deeply affect you - irrespective of your gender or background. As in most pieces of art and in real life, things happen in the story that you wish were different. But art is not about pleasing the audience. It is about triggering deep reflection on what it means to be human. And this game achieves just that.

Graphics: Absolutely stunning! You can see that the developers pushed the PS4 hardware to the absolute limit. The lighting, the vegetation, and especially the character models and facial expressions are next level. Exploring rainy and misty Seattle and roaming through lush, green overgrowth truly immerses you in this world. The same goes for dark tunnels or minutely recreated neighbourhoods and downtown areas. On more than one occasion have I just stood around to take the bittersweet beauty of the world in.

Gameplay: Everything that we loved from part 1, but better! More challenging and intense fighting (especially melee fights). Way better opponent and companion AI. Better weapons and more noticeable weapon upgrades. A more motivating and satisfying skill progression arc. Simply exploring long abandoned buildings is a lot of fun. Also because of the notes and collectibles that are scattered throughout the game and give additional context to the story and different factions (significantly more so than in the last game). This is reinforced by the amazingly detailed conversations the characters have while exploring the levels.

Sound: The sound effects and soundtrack is truly amazing. The composer, Gustavo Santaolalla, is a genius. The soundtrack is an important element for reinforcing the feeling and experience that the game invokes. I'd definitely recommend playing with good headphones.

Overall: The game is the best game I've ever experienced. I've intentionally said experienced, because at some point in the story it is not even about having fun anymore. It is about touching our humanity and challenging our identity as a person. Never has a game required this much of me to the point were I had to take breaks, because it was emotionally exhausting. As I said, a true masterpiece that I can recommend. Thank you to Naughty Dog for creating this wonderful piece of art. I hope there'll be a part 3!!

Sadly the best comparison to the Last of us part II I can make is the last season of Game of Thrones. You know the people in it, it still looks beautiful and you can see the effort and hard work gone into it, but it feels wrong. It's not that I hate the story, it's that it is not character driven anymore but plot/theme driven. It is driving home a point with a viciousness that seems to ignore its own origins. I think the most heartbreaking thing is when the game has moments that are genuinely beautiful and well written that shows the potential this game had and the talent behind it. Again, like GoT it's not that the story itself is bad, it's the execution that is the problem, it's about believability. The idea for the plot was controversial and bold, that however raises the stakes on how to execute it - where it falls short in my opinion.
Another personal pet peeve is trans representation, this is no criticism of including trans characters in stories, but how. it seems that not enough thought was put into sensitivity reading of the plot when a trans character is repeatedly deadnamed not to mention the emotional suffering said character has to go to for being trans. I also wondered why include a trans character in a game that is essentially about the circle of violence to begin with. It does seem a little like just checking the box "has trans representation" without any deeper thought about how that representation is executed.

If this was a random game or the first one in the series, no one would have cared about revenge cycle theme, it would probably make a compelling story with all the characters having first time introduction to players. But when you have a well established characters from first game loved by everyone, people expect them to be treated with respect, they want to see more of them and a story centralized towards them and their life experience, not some random ass character killing the characters you were looking forward to playing and preaching about revenge cycle. This game is fantastic simple as that.
The graphics are awesome, the gameplay is perfect you can feel the way that the NPCs, the story is fantastic in the end you have a reflection of whats the meaning of revenge and what is good or wrong.
The new characters have his own personality and ways to do things.

They don’t know who are this people, but Tommy sais them ALL INFORMATION ABOUT THEMSELFS. Tommy would NEVER DO THIS. Or ending is so unsatisfying. Or that how Neil forces us to like Abby. That was so badly writed. But graphics, animations and Music are so GREAT. But still, story and new characters are so bad. Expand

You don't achieve this outcome by behaving arrogantly and patronising your audience, by indulging yourself in sadistic little tricks at their expense, or by betraying the very people who have afforded you the opportunity to make a sequel based on their loyalty to the original.
I purposely avoided social media as much as I could on the run up to release, to allow myself the opportunity to play this game without falling prey to leaks or reading any reviews, subsequently avoiding the initial controversy. Therefore my opinion has been formed purely by the experience of playing this game and the first. That fact that I am focusing on the story and the gameplay choices made by the creators, instead of lauding the action and incredible environments, tells you everything you need to know about this game. The narcissism and folly of the authors undermine all of the aspects that were good and will forever sully the Last of Us legacy.

Very strange to see this game get review bombed so vehemently. There’s a clear lack of objectivity by tens of thousands of people leaving a review here, and clearly a fair few of those haven’t even touched the game.

Spectacular graphics, refined gameplay and an emotionally driven story that makes this yet another fantastic addition to Naughty Dogs now growing list of classics.

The two issues I have story-wise do relate to some of the decisions made. For me, what makes The Last of Us different from usual survival horror/apocalypse type games is that relationship between Joel and Ellie. The Last of Us IS that relationship more than the world itself and is at the very core of what makes the first game special. If you remove one of those elements then you risk falling back in to just another game, albeit a high level one.

The second issue is the trope of revenge. While naturally you would expect the people closest to Joel to want redemption, the game prides itself on being grounded and it would be hard to accept that in real life, in such a horrendous world, you would leave the sanctity of Jackson to travel hundreds of miles in to an absolute fortress to try and find one person. It’s not a dealbreaker but it does take away from that grounded atmosphere it tries to create.

That being said, I’m more than happy to be an observer of Druckmann’s story, given that he is the creator, much like I would he reading any novel. I admire the fact that they didn’t rest on their laurels and pay loads of fan service to the game, purely to please the (seemingly aggressive) dedicated fan base to this franchise. I want to play a linear story game to be told a story, not to cross off a checklist of things I wanted to see in the game. Generation defining game, not quite at the level of the first game, but the expectations for this sequel were so high that was always going to be a challenge.

It’s a shame that there is an ever present immature streak among a lot of gamers that can’t be objective enough to form an opinion on this game without jumping on a bandwagon.

The fans deserved better If you want us to keep buying your games. The only thing it does right is the graphics. There is so much wrong in this game where Joel dies and Ellie doesn't kill the person that technically killed her father. And that you play the killer of Joel trying to get us to feel bad for her and see her point of view. The story writers completely shot themselves in the foot with having her kill Joel and trying to force us to like her. Nobody will like Abby after they just seen her kill Joel, it doesn't work like that. Take notes from The Walking Dead about killing a beloved character, if you want to make a likeable bad guy, look up Negan. Expand

Graphically it's 10/10, new generation graphics and big improvement from The Last of Us 1. The animations were so good and very detailed.

About the story goes well until it reaches a point that becomes very long until the end. The game should have ended so much before, this doesn't mean is bad but the game should be shorter.

The final, well, I personally not liked at all, the real final should be in the Ellie vs Abby on the theatre when Abby lets Ellie and Dina lives. After that Ellie still wants revenge so years later he goes back to kill Abby in Santa Barbara. Again nobody dies, this time Ellie spares Abby's life, it's not logical at all but can be accepted because Ellie can forgive too.

General conclusion: I really enjoyed the game, such a beautiful game, I don't give it a 10/10 for that too long story and ending that left me with a strange taste in my mouth.

I have never thought of Naughty Dogs games as an achievement in writing. The Uncharted games and even the first Last of Us has never done anything ground breaking in telling a story. The love the first game gets confused me because it was a solid story but it didn’t do anything exceptional. TLOU2 is by far the boldest take in story telling and that reflects by the hate it has received. Again I don’t think ND are geniuses in their writing ability but I do appreciate this take in this case. The duality of holding two opposing forces as a single truth is exceptionally difficult to convey and the fact that only 5% of the population can even do this shows why people have review bombed this game. The game requires you to have an open mind which was a risk they took because most people simply do not have this ability. And for that I applaud ND in doing this because it truly subverted expectations in a clever way unlike some other properties (The Last Jedi). The game is a must play despite some writing missteps in areas of the story — the story itself is excellent in how they wanted to tell it. Expand

Naughty dog has done a terrible job at making me not hate abby or her friends. You know you've failed at developing your new characters to be likeable when I shouted with joy at manny getting shot in the head by tommy and seeing his eye explode. I cheered tommy on when he had the upper hand on abby and screamed kill her several times. This is the most generic and tedious revenge story ever with the most obvious message. Yes, I can see why some people are upset but there's no reason to give it a 0/10. SPOILERS BELOW! The game is gorgeous and Joel's death is possibly the only reason why Ellie would go on such a journey once again.

Finally, at first I too didn't like Abby. However, as you get to progress through her story, you see that both Ellie's and Abby's story are a parallel of each other. As for the ending, I liked it. The cycle of violence is broken now, Ellie won't be chased down by Lev now that she didn't kill Abby. I enjoyed the game a lot and there are some absolutely beautiful and wholesome moments.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I think this would be a good rating for the game. You really must play the game before you make assumptions on it. The ending isn't a **** revenge story. It was the end of a story where you lose everything. She has nobody and is left alone. While the person who had even and started the revenge cycle and put all of her friends in danger gets to walk away with somebody she cares about. A truly sad ending. I will not be going back for a second playthrough because of the way that they naughty dog handled certain things like the deaths of characters like Joel of course. If you stopped playing the game because of that. Don't finish it. It doesn't get any better. Other than the story the gameplay is really tight and just like the old last of us. If you liked the first games combat then this is right for you. Everything from the first is implemented into this and then some. I really enjoyed this games combat and the way you can go about killing people. It has a little bet of everything for everyone. Overall this is ok game worth a purchase. And who knows if you really don't like it you could always buy a copy hoping they wright a better story. Expand
