    You killed Joel! We will never forgive you! Abbey really? this game is garbage and suck all those hard workers making the game for your horrible story telling. Ellie was the last hope and you destroyed that! Thanks alotYou killed Joel! We will never forgive you!

    They bait and switched in one of the trailers making you believe with Joel being replaced by another character.
    And don't even get me started on the nonsensical murder of Joel, which clearly comes from a delusional developer that hated the character so bad to the point of self inserting himself in the game just to spit on Joel's dead body. Yes, I'm talking about Neil Druckmann.
    Abby is an unlikable character in which I'm forced to play during a big part of the game. It was so tedious, boring and uninspiring.

    And what about Ellie, all that thirst for revenge just disappears at the end when she decided to spare Abby, even if it costed her some of her friends and two of her fingers. Absolutely ridiculous.

    There's so much political correctness and a clear agenda of his creator trying to pander to minorities and liberals.


    Also, there's no multiplayer either. What were they thinking

    All these years for nothing, what an total disappointment. Such and unforgettable experience. I'm never supporting Naughty Dog or anything made by this hack of a developer ever again.

    Not enjoyable in any way. AI from 2012. False advertising on the trailers. 50% of the game Ellie is not the playable character. Gave up ~20 hours in.

The game's plot is heavily based on empathy towards the second playable character, if you do not resonate with the character and feel empathy towards her, the entire plot falls apart. Unfortunately, I didn't connect with Abby, no matter how many dogs she pet and kids she rescues, she did torture a person whilst their adopted daughter begged her to stop. No remorse, for somewhat deserved comeuppance yet pointless torture - which put this character beyond redemption until a moment she actually reflects on that, never happened, so I never connected with her.… Expand

    Had my review deleted too many times to bother with it again, all the **** you heard about it is true, thats what matters. Props for the production quality, the people who worked on the technical side of the game should stop wasting their considerable talents working for such garbage studio.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Let me start by saying that it's heartbreaking to see that the majority of gamers can't even try to handle a story like this.. You don't have to be a SJW to appreciate the work put into something like this piece of gaming history. Well, I'd like to congratulate ones among us who do a ppreciate a plot that is smarter and deeper than the newest instalment of halo's call of duty dota, after 7 years of waiting we have received something that only happens once in a console generation.

    Just a nota bene, I've played the game twice now on Hard and Hard+ and think that it's the level it was meant to be played at. Anything below almost feels like a non-challenge.

    Everything in this game can be considered an industry best - level design, mechanics, sound design, character development, lighting, script writing, animations...everything. If you have any understanding in how modern games are made, you will appreciate the effort the people at Naughty Dog have put into this title. The way the game unfolds, the way levels are structured, the way the lighting is used and the camera moves.. The way the sound and the music set the mood and tell the story..

    Compared to the first game, part 2 has a way smarter AI that keeps you on your toes when playing at decent difficulty levels. The mechanics, while still being almost the same, have been finessed and broadened. It's fun to go and replay the encounters by trying different approaches and tactics.

    But the main reason why I decided to write this review is the whole review bombing situation which I wholeheartedly despise. This game will be a financial and cultural success, no doubt about it. But what makes me super confused is the fact that majority of gamers can't handle a death of a protagonist, sexual preferences of a few characters and the fact that FEMALES CAN GROW MUSCLE. It's 2020 and it's time to grow up and accept it. Throughout the whole game I had thoughts and emotions rushing through my head trying to answer questions. Questions of unnecessary violence, love, compassion, forgiveness. I wasn't simply smashing buttons and killing one NPC after another and progressing from level to level. I was persistently reflecting on what was happening on the screen. This is why I sincerely love this game.

    But I guess If you can't handle this, please consider sticking to something simpler. Play a session of Warzone with your mates, let off steam. Maybe one day you'll grow up and be able to fully appreciate this game. Maybe.    … Expand

    This is a good example of how you ruin a good franchise. Most of the buildings are boarded up and it pushes you down a very set path. The story is horrible and full of virtue signaling nonsense.

    I have never seen any game that demeans man so much. 90 percent gaming community is male and I don't know what path SONY is taking with this anti-man approach where a man can not be a brave protagonist. By the way, 40 % of the game you play as a Lesbian and other 60 % as a trans. I guess this average game is meant for minority communities and I think they will like it.

    It is too linear and overly scripted. Save yourself the trouble and money and watch it off YouTube if you want the story. But the story, my goodness the story is cringy at every moment...
    I would rather you not waste time on this trash. I did, so you don't have to.

This game is bad as hell, everything is wrong with it (story, the characters etc.. ) the only thing that is right, is the graphics

    It’s story is quite bad. There is no redeeming characters. It’s political. It’s deceiving in the way it’s marketed. The game play is mediocre at best. Not worth the price at all.

    É um jogo baseado em história, a jogabilidade podia ser melhor. Quando a narrativa não está em destaque a única coisa que temos a fazer é passar por áreas de inimigos com má I.A numa forma de progressão linear.

    Se no fim nos tivessem dado a opção para perdoar a Abby e uma para a matar, a nota seria muito diferente. Não havendo essa opção dou mesmo um 1/10 porque o jogo insulta a fundação na qual foi criado.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The combat and weapons system carries over well from the first game, but definitely harder to stealth through this one. It's been said many times, but the story isn't just uninspiring, it's infuriating. To see Joel killed so early on just took the wind out of me. Then I'm expected to play as Joel's killer for about ten hours halfway through the game. The more I played with her, the more I couldn't wait to see Ellie bury a hatchet in her forehead. It was impossible to feel empathy for her, even if her mad scientist dad bought it from Joel. And the cherry on top, right when we're about to get the payoff and see her die (really the plot point driving the whole game), we let her go. I was baffled beyond belief... flummoxed you might even say. Every time the story should have zigged, it zagged. It's like a cruel joke seven years in the making. People from ND need to explain this better (which, like playing as Abby, will never be satisfactory).… Expand

    Basically my progress got bricked early into the game with a double bug combo: a lethal elevator rope and gap where the rest of the level should be once I got the rope bit right. I thought at least the perfectionist dev company was above selling broken games

    Wow.... This was really bad. In the visual department, bravo. The rest.... I cant say the same. Quite the opposite. Bad characters, bad story, bad narrative, bad dialogues.... How a game which was a masterpiece (TLOU part 1) turned into this vomit of a game. This is beyond me. Please remake this joke.

    World is a bit prettier and that's about it. The story is atrocious and the characters are totally annoying. They just had to go and get political and alienate most of their fans in one way or another. It's really just a dumpster fire that needs to end now.

    I beat this game on hard and think it is way too easy of a game. While friendly AI is useless, the amount of dumb mistakes the enemy AI makes up for it. I’m walking right behind them, but because they are facing the other way they can’t hear me? Same thing with mantling right next to them. Also, the enemies flank, but often into spots where they are easy headshots. This stuff alone ruinedI beat this game on hard and think it is way too easy of a game. While friendly AI is useless, the amount of dumb mistakes the enemy AI makes up for it. I’m walking right behind them, but because they are facing the other way they can’t hear me? Same thing with mantling right next to them. Also, the enemies flank, but often into spots where they are easy headshots. This stuff alone ruined the gameplay immersion for me and I rarely died. The only part of the game that I had a little trouble with was the Ellie boss fight because of BS such as Ellie stopping her plant mine animation and have her immediately shoot without it doing the proper amount of frames. I know this is nitpicks, but it just wasn’t a great gameplay experience. And the atmosphere and exploration sucked. The puzzles were like PS1 level with the solutions in the same room or way too straight forward. Map interaction was also very limited and obvious. The game had no atmosphere and just feels so bland at points even if it’s a “pretty game”. Honestly, many games are good looking in 2020 and I was not impressed. All of these things just made this game a chore on top of all the terrible decisions to the plot. If the gameplay was as good as people claimed it could have maybe made up for a terrible story, but it did not.… Expand

I keep reading that this game is supposedly "brave", but I do not see what's brave about it. There is no real twist, no revelation, no character development...so what is brave about the game?

    I have been reading/ watching/ playing zombie, dystopian and post-apocalyptic media for years and this is by far one of the weakest examples I have ever come across.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
