And yeah I know it's 2020 and we all are super tolerant and so, but come on, that crisis in the game happened more than 7 years ago and I won't believe that people went the same way as we did during the times when mushroom zombies are trying to eat you. I mean I'm not against same sex relationship and weed but seriously is that all we can show in the modern games? I got bored after the part we leave our city and start to solve how to open the gate, it so obvious that I turned my PS4 wich I bought with a bundle of the last of us 1 and went to sleep because this game is waste of your time. I'm sorry to say but all good things come to the end. Expand

First, TLOU2 probably has the best graphics on PS4 Pro and it's not even close. Unfortunately, that's about the only positive thing to say. By far the worst character development and story I've played. Didn't pay attention to the leaks but probably should have so i wouldn't have wasted my time or money on this trash. Last of Us was such an amazing game, can't believe they ruined this.

The worst ending of a game I've ever seen, no payoff at all. This doesn't show what happens with a perpetual cycle of violence, it shows why Anita Sarkeesian shouldn't be too close to game writers.
Graphics were good though, props to the great team behind them.

Like on last of us 1 the graphics, movements and music are great.
They did a awesome job on climbing and laying down.

    The negative part (including spoilers):
    - Ellie and the other girl smoking weed.
    - Not only adults are going to play this game, there will be under aged people too, so its like an
advertisement for them to start smoking. And even if its not the case, its a story based zombie
game, there is no space for weed.

    - Joel dies
    - Why would you let the coolest daddy figure we ever saw in our game history die. Top of that we have
to play a character that kills him later. huge disappointment.

Whoever wrote this storyline should never ever write a story for a top game.
Im talking about a game that was in my and many others mind the best game that's on the market since 2013.

This game has awful characters with no personalities. Just bland shells acting like humans. The story also misleads the consumer and makes you play as Joel’s killer for half the game. Yeah. Joel you know the character that made the last of us what it is? He dies. In the first. 2 hours. Abby the killer who you play as, is an annoying character who we are trying to feel sympathy for but doesn’t work. And her friends that you kill as Ellie are so unlike able and void of personalities that you don’t mind killing them. And the worst part of all is that at the end of the game you let Abby free as Ellie! What?! Most unsatisfying story I’ve ever seen. When the game ended I deleted it off of my ps4. Fire Druckmann and hire Amy back Naughty Dog. Your company is going down the drain. Expand

What kind of story development was that. Essentially forced the narrative of Abby onto us with I mean no choice about 8 hours of backstory. Kind of threw all potential sympathy or justification naughty dog could make for her. As they tried with all her backstory. The ending and actual fighting gameplay saved this for me. Yea it would of been nice for Abby to ya know just drown and die after killing Joel and Jesse with just such ease and Ellie just so happens to be brain dead and can’t aim. again goes back to just so forced to like Abby. Lets begin with graphics and gameplay, its totaly awsome the graphics is cool and physics pf some small parts just wonders!

But the storyline is awful, because ot just does not make sense in some important parts, like when Joel dies in the begging of the game and Ellie wants revenge but when she kills everyone on her way but does not kill the person that killed Joel. The writing in this game is soul-crushing... To witness my long-awaited years for this sequel and love for these characters tossed into a furnace before my very eyes.
The disregard for the characters that Neil Druckmann had while writing this game is appalling and shows how out of touch he has become with who the characters are and why the fanbase made such strong connections with them. As always, the graphics and the animations are amazing, although the same old gameplay is here with little improvements, and the same BUTTON MASHING to get the next section of the level is still there. But although these issues were in the first game, they were largely ignored for the strength of the story.
With this sequel however, you have all the annoyances in gameplay from The Last of Us 1, BUT WITH THE WORST PLOT YOU COULD EVER IMAGINE.

The logic behind Ellies actions make NO sense, the disregard for beloved characters is insulting, the way the game FORCES you to play a character that the fanbase would loath makes me think the Devs were smoking something when writing it.

I am so upset that this game ended up like this, Neil needs to hang it up and go back to punching 0's and 1's into a computer....

In 2017, Naughty Dog environmental artist David Ballard accused an unnamed lead developer of sexually harassing him in late 2015. Ballard said he told Sony and Naughty Dog about the sexual harassment, and was quickly fired and offered $20,000 to keep silent. Naughty Dog denied these allegations.

During the production of The Last of Us 2, Naughty Dog compelled its developers to follow a grueling crunch production schedule. This mistreatment of employees led to a miserable, unhealthy work environment where 14 of the original 20 non-lead designers involved with Uncharted 4—or 70 percent—left the studio.

Naughty Dog are an abusive employer that have wrapped themselves in a thin gauze of wokeness and rainbow-flag social media banners.

I give their latest crunch labor product 2 points out of 10, because it boots and can be watched from beginning to end without any showstopping bugs. Also, that is how many fingers Ellie has left.

In these current days, where everyone is bending the knee to the far left, pandering to the woke, canceling insulting and lying about whoever disagrees, gamers today have spoken.
The everyday Joe might be letting you break down statues, and keeping quite in fear of being fired from their jobs and not be able to provide for their family anymore, but gamers aren't the same. We're too busy playing to go outside and protest. So when you bring the protest to our living rooms, we have no qualms tearing you a new one.

Keep your wokeness that panders to such a tiniest of the tiny minority of the planet, away from us.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is an opinion that is told by me, a huge fan of The first Last of us.
I finished TLOU2 from A to Z to make my own and unique opinion of this sequel. Well. I don't even know where to start. I am so, lost and disappointed with this game.
    7 years for that.

I was one of those who had seen the leaks but still wanted to play being a big fan of The Last of us 1.
History had marked me. The relationship of the main characters also. Joel in particular seeing in him a father I had never had.

I was well aware that he would certainly not survive in this second chapter. I was quite ok with that btw. But in this way? WTF happened?
Joel deserved so much better. His story with Ellie too. How do we get there. How can you spit so openly on the fans and completely destroy a story that was incredible at first.

My note clearly goes to the graphics wich are incredible and the music let's say.
The rest, the story, the characters who are ghosts and who have never interested me, the writing, the logic and THIS endgame were an incredible mess. I truly am disappointed.

"The game is about revenge" they said. "It's worth playing" they said.
    No.
This game is about a beloved character from the community who is killed like **** by a golf club. His death will want to be avenged by Ellie who when she has the opportunity will simply let go the golfer.
    Ellie loses a father.
    Ellie loses two fingers.
    Ellie loses his girlfriend.
Ellie loses the ability of playing guitar (the only memory she might have kept from Joel)
    Ellie loses everything.
When and where is revenge? And why do we get to play Joel’s killer ? What is wrong with u ND ? I don’t want to play this character and i’am not interested in it. I can understand that they wanted to write a story that would explain to us that revenge leads to nothing and that we can end up losing everything but damn not after having taken us Joel THAT way after 2 f****** hours of gameplay !

Joel's death doesn't bother me more than that because I expected it like any fan. What bothers me is the way they did it, the lying trailers, the manipulation and to repeat myself : the story etc.

I have never been emotional once in the game. Comparing the last of us 1. At one point, all this violence and hatred didn't even do anything to me. What I mean by that is that it was too much.

I really and sincerely hope that ND will never think of a possible Last of us 3.
They disappointed and spit on their community by offering this game.
For me the game stops at the first one, chapter 2 will never have existed.

Not to be "too" negative, the only thing that is really worth in this game are the graphics.
Play without paying attention to the story which is very difficult for someone who did the first chapter.

If you want to play a game and have never played TLOU1, want to see beautiful graphics and have fun smashing everything then play the last of us 2, you may not be disappointed.

If you want an incredible immersion, a touching and magnificent story, also with pretty good graphics then play THE LAST OF US 1 !

I was actually playing the real last of us story only when there were flashbacks with Ellie and Joel. That’s what The last of us 2 should have been. And yeah at some point, Joel would have died by saving Ellie or some **** like that or maybe not who knows, and his last words could have been « you’re always be my baby girl ».
    I don’t know.
    Deception.
    That’s all.
